My testimony:
I found The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints when I was 22 years old, I had happened upon a copy of a 1952 Book of Mormon and found to my surprise that the Book immediately bore witness to me that it was of God, or I should say The Holy Spirit bore witness to me that the Book of Mormon was of God.
Later on I found out that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints believes in the Old Testament the New Testament the Book of Mormon the Doctrine and Covenants which contains revelations that Joseph Smith Jr. received as the Church was once again re-established upon the earth.
Although the Book of Mormon is used in Missionary Work in actuality it is held equally as important as all the other scriptures, and can be produced all bound together under one cover.
All the canon of scripture in fact in every case bear witness of the Savior of the world in some way, and the Book of Mormon uniquely does that by recording The Lord Jesus Christ visit to the new world after His death and resurrection, you can read all about it in the book that chronicles it in detail.
When I came upon the 1952 copy of the Book of Mormon I received a testimony of its truthfulness not by man, but by the third member of the Godhead The Holy Spirit, that testimony remains with me today I can not deny it, for it came to me from the presence of God and I know it is true, as well as I know that the other scriptures The Old and New Testaments are true and bear testimony of Christ as well.

North and South America and the rest of the world and we're not done yet!! Thank you Rod for these interviews. This truly is Mr. Kirtland! I am so grateful for my visit to Kirtland.. My husband and I went there on Memorial Day weekend in 2008 when we happened to find a YSA conference being held there! We were permitted to join the group for their sacrament meeting Sunday morning in the temple. The RLDS church, which owned it at the time, had given them permission to use it for the service. What a blessing it was to sit on the antique bench and look through the wavy glass in the window at the end of our pew which made an impressionist image of the spring flowers outside, and to think of the special significance of the things which had happened in that hallowed place. Such a treasured memory. Such a wonderful place - Kirtland!

Thank you for this! Both of you are wonderful! I am so excited that I will have the opportunity to visit Kirtland this summer with my two oldest sons ages 12 and 10. I grew up in Akron Ohio not far from Hiram. Our ward would go often to the John Johnson farm in the summer to pick strawberries and apples for the church storehouse and then we would get to go on the tour there. I graduated high school in 1998 and haven’t been back since. I have only been to Kirtland one time briefly, so I am very happy to go again with my boys. I am also excited to take them to the Morley farm, Isaac Morley is my 4th great grandfather on my dad’s mom’s side and John Tanner is my fourth great grandfather on my dad’s dad’s side so I have a lot of family and personal history in Northeast Ohio in regards to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Hopefully I will get a chance to read Karl Anderson’s book before we go visit the holy land of the United States.

We have some glitches, sorry about that.
The last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Nephites destruction began at Zarahemla and ended at Cumorah. The restoration of the the Church and temple rites began at Cumorah and ended at Nauvoo/Zarahemla, before it was driven into the wilderness (Salt Lake) for a time. The Savior appeared to the Nephites at the temple in Bountiful and He appeared to His Saints at the temple in Kirtland, which is probably Bountiful, especially considering how great the spiritual manifestations were that occurred both in Book of Mormon and Kirtland times.
BTW, the reason I call Salt Lake the wilderness is both because that's what it was and that area, including the surrounding mountains, was identified by early Church leaders as the stronghold of the Gadianton robbers.
I felt that powerful spirit when I was in Kirtland .It is “holy ground.”

The Heartland model simply doesn’t make sense when I read the Book of Mormon.
The Nephites were a highly advanced society that lived in cities of cement according to Helaman. They knew the difference between lakes and seas.
Read more closely. They only built cities with cement once they ran out of trees, which was their primary building material. Making a conclusion based on one line of thinking is shallow. Try considering the entirety of the evidence for the Heartland movement before closing your mind. You'll find it very refreshing and rewarding to your faith and testimony.
@@BookofMormonEvidence My grandfather went over it in detail with me, he wrote a book looking through evidence from each side, and he has explained and discussed each side to me.
Accusations and assumptions that my learning has been shallow, or that I have a closed mind, is not Christ-like.
I am not convinced by Meso-only South-America only or Heartland-only geography. I have performed proper research, listened to discourses (some over an hour long), and even visited ruins in person.
Excellent! But if your views on geography were based on the research of your grandfather, then you could not have had any exposure to the Heartland research which has just been coming out over the past 10-15 years, and clearly has not been a focus of your onging research. May we suggest spending some significant effort in understanding our geography model before making up your mind and coming to conclusions as stated above.
I knew that Christ and Elijah etc came to the temple in Kirkland and angels were on the roof but I had no idea of all the other apparitions took place there. I visited that temple in about 1978. I was very surprised that it seemed like a vacuum inside. I could not feel the Spirit even seeking. I hope now since it was purchased by the LDS church. Will it be rededicated as an historical landmark by our prophet or an apostle?

I heard an account of Grandison Newell at the dedication of the Kirtland Temple in 1836. He rode his horse from nearby Mentor, Ohio to see what was going on. Apparently, some of the heavenly manifestations startled his horse and the horse reared and Newell was thrown to the ground. I can't find a source for that event. Does anyone know?
After Kirtland, were there ever such monifestations again? I don't recall any with Elohim and Jehovah. Do you know of any?

Close, but mostly south of Kirtland nearer Columbus and Newark.
The LDS god, the LDS Jesus (Son Ahman) is merely a god, one of infinite gods, exalted men.
On the other hand, Christians' God is Almighty and is the same today as yesterday, as forever. He's the ONLY true, wise God. All other gods are false.
I went to the LDS Visitor's Center here on Easter Weekend, prayed in front of the statue of Christ, and tried to give the Elder there a tiny free wooden cross. It was like trying to show a vampire the cross, and he asked me to leave.
If it's the same Jesus, he should have encouraged me praying to Jesus and would not have been so offended by my praying or by His Cross.
If they are the enemies of the cross of Christ, How can that be if it is the same God, the same Christ?
They aren't enemies of the cross of Christ. Not at all. It's just that our young missionaries have been taught to view the cross as an implement of torture. Torture of the Son of God, the Eternal Father. That's why we don't put crosses on our churches or wear them as jewelry. It must have seemed rude of him to refuse your offer. It was kind of you to want to give away something that has so much meaning & I wish he had been more gracious. I can see how looking at a cross can bring Christ's suffering and Atonement & Resurrection for us into our hearts & personally I don't see anything wrong with it, but it has always been that way in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as far as I know. The way I had it explained to me was if your Mother died of cancer or in a car wreck. Every time you wanted to remember her, you got out her last x-ray of her tumor or a picture of her wrecked car. I think that Jesus wants us to remember the Risen Christ, as He triumphed, finally, over death and hell. We believe in the same Jesus. We just love Him and revere Him in different ways. And that's OK. ❤❤❤
@@nancylowe2692 I decided that since it was supposed to be a beautiful day, that I would hand out little wooden crosses on a little chain, along with a really nice business card that had a Bible verse on the back, and the key point of that verse on the front.
So I went around passing these things out, reminding everyone what Jesus had done for us.
If someone said "no," no problem.
But I think that the problem was two-fold.
One was that I had blessed the crosses in the name of Jesus Christ. Basically, that they aren't given away "void" -- that God would work on the heart of the receiving person.
And secondly, I went in front of the Jesus Christ statue to pray first. Just so you know, I don't pray to statues. It's just that it looks a lot like Jesus.
He seemed to take great offense at me praying, even though I had asked permission first, and even though I'm sure that he could not hear my prayer.
So then I quietly and politely asked him if the LDS is "okay" with Easter, because I honestly had no clue.
He said that they were okay with Easter. So I showed him a little cross and said that I was giving these out since it the Easter weekend to help remind everyone of what Jesus had done for us.
He was immediately and extraordinarily offended by it and even though I had put it away, he asked me to leave. No one else there, no visitors that is, no tours, completely empty and quiet inside.
The cross is wooden and empty (Jesus wasn't on the cross).
I figured that at his age, he would be aware of verses like these...
Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Eph 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
And I figured that surely Elders are trained to know about Christianity and would not be offended by it?
Maybe I should have pointed out that first, I passed them out to the disabled and elderly. Then to the city square, then to the churches, then to the LDS visitor's center, and the Temple and the Temple Lot were last.
As far as I know, no one was offended, and some did say "no."
We worship the same God and Christ as you, but we differ in our understanding of them, and that’s OK. Eventually, we will all have a perfect knowledge and understanding and benefit from the same atonement. But just because we understand Christ differently does not mean we worship a false God and we do not believe you worship a false God. What matters is putting Christ first.
I am of the opinion that we can no longer afford as Christians to bicker amongst ourselves as to the nature of God. All believers of Christ need to stick together regardless of our differences. The power of our common adversary is growing exponentially, and we need to tighten ranks as fellow saints and believers in Christ.

Your comment appears to be my position too, but certainly not what I've experienced from those in the LDS at all levels.
Your videos have much great content. However the constant nervous laughter is very off-putting. For instance describing how President Benson asked Elder Anderson if he would like to have the scourge lifted in Kirtland, Joseph falling over the fence after a night of visions, wanting to spend time with Peter, James, and John, all of which were then followed immediately with laughter. You will reach and touch a lot more people if you would get over your nervous laughter. I'm not quite to the point of quitting watching your videos because the content is usually very good, however that nervous laughter is as much of a turn off to me as fingernails on a chalkboard and it's making it hard to get through your videos.
Sorry for the distraction. Rod said to blame his Mother for that nervous laugh. All kidding aside, he will work on that. Please be patient. Thank you!
No proof of the Book of Mormon, no artifacts, not one.
That was true 150 years ago.
There are ancient mines, megalithic structures, human remains, petroglyphs, even Hebrew type language as well as other types of language that have been found all over the Americas. There are copper artifacts found in other parts of the world, and the copper is sourced from ancient copper mines in the Great lakes region. Megalithic Stonehenge type structures were recently discovered under water in the Great lakes. There have been many civilizations that inhabited the north American continent as well as central, and South America. It's really narrow to say that something couldn't have existed anciently here in North America. Unless you work for the Smithsonian and you're on mission to cover up the past.

What you say here may be true, but none of that is evidence for the people in the BoM
to have ever existed. Its just evidence that some people existed in the Americas at the same
