@@glockman9c Let me give you a prime example: when he lost a game to a team that had a hurry up offense, often calling two or more plays in the huddle, he went on a very public rant about how that was destroying the game and called for the NCAA to make it illegal. You could look it up for yourself. It was comical. Then, what did he do? Why, he hired the guy, Lane Kiffin, who was the master of the quick play offense. To his credit, he did realize that the game was evolving and it was he rather than everyone else who had to change. And we don’t even need to get into the crap he was spewing about Jimbo buying all of his players. Saban was on his moral high horse about the evils of the NIL when all it did was bring out into the open the long standing practice of giving money to players. There was zero evidence that what Jimbo did was either illegal or anything different than what other programs were openly involved in. And like he has in the past, he has totally reversed course and Alabama now is as actively involved in NIL deals as any other school. “Facts be damned, he stuck to it” “Mountains of evidence to the contrary” How I feel when Josh talks about Georgia football winning the natty mostly because they’re defensively minded. It’s just as silly, Josh. Georgia is a *passing* football team, first, like it or not, that’s why they’ve won the last two years. The best evidence (EPA) teases this out. UGA literally could have been playing significantly worse defense and still probably won the natty. This same thing can *not* be said about the passing O. Easily the biggest driver. So they will continue to pass like they have (and even more) if they know what’s good for them (I think they do lol)
You have to remember that state pride and loyalty don’t exist anymore like it did 20 plus years ago. Social media has taken care of that. Now that a lot of schools are trying to play catch-up and actually take football more seriously the damage has already been done on all fronts. Kids don’t care about the state they reside in and leave for the schools that invested all along. The state of Florida is the perfect example of this. There isn’t any reason for the big three to let over 50% of the top talent in the country to leave and go elsewhere, but it happened because all three were too cheap or too stubborn to change with the times. All three for almost 10 years made the wrong hires.
They may not need to match NIL offers out there…HOWEVER, this can put a CAP on the higher offers out there (offers that Alabama of the future cannot match-especially after Saban retires). This is about Saban trying with all his heart to preserve his legacy at Alabama after he retires during the NIL era.
You’ve commented multiple times on this thread about Saban being mad and upset about NIL, while he has publicly stated he supports it and wants it regulated. Your Trojans still sucking through a straw after that ass beating a couple years back or what?

As soon as footballers are employees then all athletes are employees sublet to Title IX. The woman’s volleyballer now makes the same salary as the starting QB. Is that the road you want to go down?
Mike Florio has a personal vendetta against Nick Saban, Josh. This is not the first time he's went out of his way to insult Saban. He lived in Miami and covered Saban when he was the Dolphins head coach, and he still carries a grudge to this day over Saban's old media policy, and his resigning to go to Bama

Scared is a bit far, but all coaches are concerned about the new era of player empowerment where they don’t have total control. Players have the ability to earn from their likeness and move to another school if there is a better opportunity. No different from a coach leaving one school for another or getting paid from an endorsement deal from a shoe company. The college football plantation is over and they want to shape the next chapter
This current iteration of college athletes are in the drivers seat now and college coaches just do not or will not accept the change. But if they don’t change they will get left behind.

Saban is "The Goat", he has warned everyone about NIL issues, but because it comes from "The Goat" they think he has ulterior motives! He still out recruits everyone!
NIL may not be #1 but for a duck fan it allows teams to legally buy a place at the blue blood table,(or even out spend them). In the end for most future nflers its development, competition, good players want to compete against players in practice everyday who will make the better, and coaches that will help them get to the nfl.
Just hope nil and new cfb becomes more competitive to that not just the sec wins the cfb championship. Would be nice to see mich st Washington or teams like wv one day win a natty.
Old JP don't seem to remember 2 years ago claiming Alabama was in a rebuilding year even though they started out the season ranked #1 and they have had the top recruiting class 6 out of the last 8 years. I don't think JP can call anyone casual.
It's not that black and white. Miami's basketball team last year is proof of that. There are players in the market that can now do legally what was stretching the spirit, if not the actuality of the law beyond recognition in the SEC, openly and, maybe not last year but as the conferences get amalgamated and the also rans get pushed out for reasons (glancing at G Tech) the influence of money and operators between the players and the schools is going to have to adjust to at least a semi-pro model. Saban probably wants everyone to adopt Alabama's model. The players won't allow the Oregon model to be done away with (a Pandora's Box reality). You cannot crack that thing open and then expect the inevitable not to occur. A one year assessment is like diagnosing a guy with cancer by looking at the fine head of hair he has not realizing that in a month he's going to be bald as a cueball.
I remember when Nic took Alabama job. His wife said she was not moving anymore. She was done now I don’t personally know his wife but I got a feeling if she’s married to Nick, she pretty much want them kind of women knows how to stand their ground, and probably meant exactly what she saidand hold him to it. I think Nick would go somewhere else absolutely not and I think when he retires, he will probably retire right there in Tuscaloosa.
LOL at one comment. "UGA does not need the deepest pockets" yet for years they have spent more on recruiting than any other school in the nation. Not counting whatever they spend in NIL dollars they spend over $5 million per year just to recruit high school football players. So there is some true data for you. :)
The ncaa dropped the ball on nil. Not getting in front of it and imposing limits on dollar amounts caused the states to step in. $aban’s alum and financial backers can out spend almost every college team. Look at their university’s dowry.

Yes, but do humor me and let’s go back through Wallace Wade when we’re talking Alabama‘s winning program, a model of standard and excellence unmatched by many. The gold standard of CFB. RTR! 🐘🏈
Great show!! Thank you!!!
That dudes a fool Saban isn't scared of no one.
“Facts be damned, he stuck to it”
“Mountains of evidence to the contrary”
How I feel when Josh talks about Georgia football winning the natty mostly because they’re defensively minded.
Saban said start a union because he knows nobody wants a union 😂
Florio not only doesn’t live in college football, he doesn’t live in sports period. His takes are often far off
this earned my subscription
Talking bout calling someone out , damn !
I would take the opinion of Saban in College Football over anyone. The man has proven himself. He dont even has to win another game.
Nick wants that brown paper bag thingy going on again. IJS
You’ve commented multiple times on this thread about Saban being mad and upset about NIL, while he has publicly stated he supports it and wants it regulated. Your Trojans still sucking through a straw after that ass beating a couple years back or what?
😄 along with the Mopar thingy

Enlighten me?
For years players in Tuscaloosa have been driving new Dodge Chargers with hemis and rims.
@Brenton Iverson...Bama hasn't needed it. NIL is helping Bama fool....nit hurting them. 😂 Only a goofy fan like you would say something so stupid. Saban told you slow pokes THAT THIS WAS ONLY GOING TO HELP SCHOOLS LIKE BAMA. He was actually speaking up for the lil guys. Only goofies like you can't see through it.
It's not NIL,it is the way the portal is sat up. Should be 1 transfer after year 2 and for grad students. students.gained .NIL comes from deals made by the players with sponcers. No collectives AKA boosters money should be allowed until 2nd transfer because the student has placed himself into the portal seeking a better playing option
flex on em Pate!!!!
JP is in Friday mode on a Monday. I knew this would get you going.
Good thing Spolstra gave us a new word to use for casual. “ Untrained Eye”
Yes, that type of tree abuse is a crying shame!
RIP Tree, Nice burn at the end!!
Great show like always im so sick of these haters disrespecting Coach Saban an Bama can't wait to make these haters eat crow just like you just made Mike Roll Tide 🐘🐘💪💪💥💥
MF just got Worked worse than App St worked Texas A&M
Josh on 🔥
This dude is out of his mind. SABAN will be winning! When the talking heads are still asking how he does this year after year, he Damm sure ain't scared. He is the greatest football coach in history!
Seen one the other day in Shiloh
Angry Josh is Pate State at its best. Lol
Agree
Scared is a bit far, but all coaches are concerned about the new era of player empowerment where they don’t have total control. Players have the ability to earn from their likeness and move to another school if there is a better opportunity. No different from a coach leaving one school for another or getting paid from an endorsement deal from a shoe company. The college football plantation is over and they want to shape the next chapter
RIP TREE! You deserved better
This current iteration of college athletes are in the drivers seat now and college coaches just do not or will not accept the change. But if they don’t change they will get left behind.
As a lifelong AUBURN fan, I rarely agree with Sabear on anything. However, Little Nickie is absolutely right on this one!
AUBURN fan.🤣😂
Pate State > Mike
Give me Pate, Klatt and Herbie and I really don't need any other College football "analyst" because they essentially just repeat the obvious that us intellegent fans already know because we have eyes. Those 3 are at the top of my triple I club...whats that you ask (as I laugh to myself because maybe 4 to 5 people will actually read this) but I digress. My "Triple I club" stands for the most informed, intellegen, and insightful college football analyst's in the world. Oh and I know I misspelled intelligent twice....a little tongue and cheek joke for yallz! 😂
Absolutely love it. Morons never shut up. Beautifully handled. The comment below about the hate for Alabama is real. So is the love. Roll Tide
Old JP don't seem to remember 2 years ago claiming Alabama was in a rebuilding year even though they started out the season ranked #1 and they have had the top recruiting class 6 out of the last 8 years. I don't think JP can call anyone casual.
Whose yo fav team?
@@whodat4lyfekris take a guess?
The purpose of the article is to get folks talking about his article. Congratulations, you’re taking part in the design. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Well said!!!
Shout out Harris co I use to hunt right outside Shiloh
Nicks Saben’s / Alabama’s Brown Bagging 💼 should Not be challenged.
Great job with that.
“Facts be damned, he stuck to it.”
Why are we talking about SC ? They have No Defense.
Equivalent of Zach Smith’s “Dumbass Sports personality of the week” Mike Florio is not pats state material
They bought a huge lake house in Georgia though. I think he will become the AD at Alabama one day.
Bama is not losing two games this season. I can see one but not two.
Mike Florio is a casual in every form of football
Mike Florio is definitely a Big10 fan
Florio is right.
LOL at one comment. "UGA does not need the deepest pockets" yet for years they have spent more on recruiting than any other school in the nation. Not counting whatever they spend in NIL dollars they spend over $5 million per year just to recruit high school football players. So there is some true data for you. :)
I dont understand why Josh loves Saban so much
The ncaa dropped the ball on nil. Not getting in front of it and imposing limits on dollar amounts caused the states to step in. $aban’s alum and financial backers can out spend almost every college team. Look at their university’s dowry.
Not surprising, florio doesn’t even write good pro football articles.
Glorious wouldn’t make a heat bump on SABAN ‘S ass roll tide
Doesn’t Jawga spent like , 2x as much on recruiting as Bama ? 🤣🤣
I love when I see articles like this ,, you know saban sees them and all it does it poke a hornets nest.. Saban is competitive as hell .
Let the school's that don't comoete fo do. What states have laws against NIL i don't know of any its upto the school to decide ti compete or not
The St. Nick Saban hypocrisy is hilarious 😂 it ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun.
My MEMAW would say he is “educated beyond his intellect.”
We should give Mike Florio a break since we know he can't read; requirement to work for NBC.
