As an LSU fan it’s a very bitter sweet moment. Happy that we won’t have to play a Saban team next year; but in the same breath, now you can’t have “beat Saban’s bama” as an accomplishment/goal of the season.

I feel so fortunate as an Alabama alumnus and football fan as I attended when Coach Bryant was there and lived to see this amazing Saban Alabama Dynasty. In addition to enjoying the teams’ success over the Saban tenure, I have always been so impressed with his development of players, his caring for Alabama and the entire sport of College Football as well as the amazing things he, Ms. Terry & his foundation have done for so many people in Tuscaloosa and the entire state of Alabama. I hope and pray that Coach Saban and his entire family are in good health and he gets to enjoy more amazing times as a husband, father, grandfather and son. After some long overdue family time, I suspect he will get involved in a less time-demanding role to protect and help the sport he loves. Thank you so much Coach Saban for every second you spent at Alabama! As Josh noted, there is a lot of toxic stuff happening in college football that could have accelerated his retirement plans but I mostly hope that he and his family are happy. Roll Tide 🐘!

It was my first time since I had been in college, so we decided to sit in the back and about five minutes in two people shuffled in next to us without me paying much attention until my dad (a diehard Georgia fan and alumni) said “holy shit” and wouldn’t you know I looked over to see Saban and Ms Terry sitting right next to us! They both chuckled and my dad ended up apologizing, and we got to speak with him a bit during thanks before communion!

When Coach Saban came on the program was restored to its glory. We’ve enjoyed an amazing run with Coach Saban, but the time has sadly come for him to call it a day and focus on his family. He’s earned that a million times over and I wish him luck. I also wish the AD luck in finding the right person to be the successor. Thank you Josh for your take. You are spot on and I think you have a better grasp of the game and the subtleties around it than anyone in broadcasting. I understand completely why Coach Saban the GOAT was done with the game. Relationships don't mean as much as they used to , and that's what he was always about. It was what he loved. I am fortunate that I was able to witness both Bear Bryant and Nick Saban coach my favorite team. It's a privilege afforded to very few.

I am a Kiwi who has followed Alabama for many years. It is sad that Nick Saban has retired, as he is the best, but I do think that the future for Bama is exciting, and I can't wait for the new season to start.

As an Auburn grad, i can finally say that the emperor palpatine of college football (nick saban) has finally been vanquished. Many times when Alabama would take the field I could have sworn that the star wars imperial march song was playing in the background. If there was ever any hope for Auburn to strike back at bama it would be now- while they are going to be with a new hc for only the 3rd time in my life. War damn eagle baby!!!

I saw this coming. Nick told me last week he wanted to make a surprise splash in the media. South Carolina had a TE position open up and he just couldn’t resist the urge to come to Columbia

As an Alabama fan in his late 40's, I count myself truly blessed to have been here to watch this Incredible run. Doubtful it will ever be reproduced. All things have to come to an end. Im excited to see where it goes from here. Alabama will not accept mediocrity. RTR Bama Fam! RTR THE 🐐

The retirement of not just a Legend but THE Legend, respect. I wish nothing but the best for Coach Saban and hope to still see him involved in College Football in some capacity... If this doesn't matter to you or you don't have respect for Coach Saban and you are a CFB fan, you are dead wrong.
    Sincerely,
    A die hard Razorback.

No doubt Saban is the 🐐. As a Gator during the 90s Gene Stallings wasn’t chopped liver. It was fun watching Florida vs Alabama facing off in the beginning of the SEC West vs East era. Maybe I’m too old.

Still wish he had stayed with my Spartans! Nick Saban was an amazing coach and has left an indelible mark on college football. We were spoiled to see so many great teams and players come under his leadership from all the schools he’s coached!

Bryant passed away the year I was born. My dad was at Alabama during his heyday. I grew up hearing stories about Bear from my dad and my uncles and i was jealous that i wouldn’t ever get to see the GOAT. Little did I know I would get to witness another GOAT.

Josh, im from Columbus so when you speak on C-town, ie streets and demographics, i can relate. But i digress, bcs i just wanted to say you are always spot on with your analysis/breakdown of sports, namely the college game. You are 1 of a few sports shows that i love listening to and a big fan of bcs you arent a 'homer', or choose favorites, you can just discuss and deliver great show after show, so yes, i agree with you, you do have a God given talent in this industry. I come back each week, sometimes more often, to listen. Thanks for this show and delivering with such passion and understanding!

As an Auburn fan, I was one of those who thought Saban would jump to another job in 2-3 years. I didn't like the guy. Hated he went to Bama. But as I got older (I'm 41 now), I had to appreciate just what he built not only for the football program but for the University, the community, and the sport as a whole. I don't think we'll see another like him in my lifetime. I hope whatever he decides to do next, he'll enjoy it and let the stress of coaching fade into fond memories. (I'd love to see him on Gameday!)
