Nick actually had Tosh Lupoi as DC and he was choking and moved Pete Golding into that roll during the season. Tosh didn’t make it to October and was found a new home at the end of the season

As a diehard Alabama fan, we were all hoping that Pete Golding and Bill O'Brien would be gone after the season ended. In the case of Pete Golding Alabama loss, that mean and nasty defensive stance called the Bama Standard. Saban tried to keep him around like he did Kirby Smart and Jeremy Pruitt, hoping he would turn out like them, but it never happened. In the case of Bill O'Brien, he goes down as the worst OC in the history of Alabama football. He only used five basic high school offensive plays in every game. Fans like myself who watch every game from an Xs and Os standpoint were constantly upset during every game. The only reason Alabama won so many games is because of Bryce Young ability to make plays. Bill O'Brien contracts end next month in February, and the University of Alabama did not renew or extend his contract, which made Bama fans jump for joy. Because of Bill O'Brien, Alabama lost approximately 15 players to the TP. Alabama is loaded with talent, and it appears the 2023 recruiting class might be Saban best class while at Alabama, and that is saying a lot. I LOL when I hear the media talk about Alabama and Saban are done winning NATTYS. That alligator mouth mockingbird ass Pollard of ESPN and a Georgia graduate just pissed off Saban, and I guarantee he is going to eat the words he said. If Alabama gets the coaches for DC and OC, the names I have been hearing from inside sources, then Bama is going to be scary good along with the #1 recruiting class for 2023.

People need to understand that Bama does not need super creative guys as coordinators. McElwain and Nussmeier were not strategic geniuses. Pruitt certainly was not that. As stated Saban plays a big role with the defense anyway. You have all this talent you need a solid guy with above average intelligence who understands matchups and has the work ethic and fire to put in the 100 hours a week.

I like Pete let's just be honest we got used to a certain standard around there the past couple years it hadn't been there that ain't all on one person it's not all on one coach but let's just face the facts every year Alabama loses a ton of really good players but they lose just as many really good coaches it's hard to replace both and stay on top every single year over and over again and he's somehow managed to do it the last few years we've had a small handful of good players on both sides of the ball they dominated Georgia last year and you see the difference a couple of good wide receivers makes now when you bring that up people say stop making excuses that's fine but it is an excuse if we're allowed to use excuses that's a pretty valid one I would think right you see what happens when they've got all their people in their healthy as opposed to take a few good ones away I mean there's got to be a time where any excuses alright

I'm so happy the Pete Golding experiment is over. He has always been a bad coordinator. Alabama finished no worse than 4th in ppg since 2009 then as soon as Golding became full time coordinator they have yet to finish in the top 4 even once. Heck this year was their first time cracking the top 10 and they finished at 10. With the talent Alabama has on defense, there is zero reason to ever even be out of the top 10 much less only make the top 10 once. There's a reason nobody was trying to hire him away. Why Saban kept him for so long I will never understand. Bill O'brien just had zero creativity and zero ability to consistently scheme players open. His whole playbook was "let Bryce cook". Any of our previous coordinators would have easily been able to put up at least 45 if not closer to 50 ppg with this roster.

I like Pete let's just be honest we got used to a certain standard around there the past couple years it hadn't been there that ain't all on one person it's not all on one coach but let's just face the facts every year Alabama loses a ton of really good players but they lose just as many really good coaches it's hard to replace both and stay on top every single year over and over again and he's somehow managed to do it the last few years we've had a small handful of good players on both sides of the ball they dominated Georgia last year and you see the difference a couple of good wide receivers makes now when you bring that up people say stop making excuses that's fine but it is an excuse if we're allowed to use excuses that's a pretty valid one I would think right you see what happens when they've got all their people in their healthy as opposed to take a few good ones away I mean there's got to be a time where any excuses alright

I'm so happy the Pete Golding experiment is over. He has always been a bad coordinator. Alabama finished no worse than 4th in ppg since 2009 then as soon as Golding became full time coordinator they have yet to finish in the top 4 even once. Heck this year was their first time cracking the top 10 and they finished at 10. With the talent Alabama has on defense, there is zero reason to ever even be out of the top 10 much less only make the top 10 once. There's a reason nobody was trying to hire him away. Why Saban kept him for so long I will never understand.
Bill O'brien just had zero creativity and zero ability to consistently scheme players open. His whole playbook was "let Bryce cook". Any of our previous coordinators would have easily been able to put up at least 45 if not closer to 50 ppg with this roster.
Saban should have got rid of golding after the first year he was there. Mike Shula had better Defenses.
