  • The key line cuts are working, we have noticed the key line cut has started to transfer subterranean water to the ridge lines. As apart of the planning we cut two key lines near subterranean seeps and after a period we have now have water transfer spreading across the pasture.

Perfect spot for some managed grazing and no kill cropping. Well done, as usual it is the mavericks that lead all science.

Thanks for the update on the Keyline. I was lucky enough to find a 3 Tyne yoemans plough on an old farm & have fixed it up & used in 2 paddocks so far & seeing similar results. Looking forward to using it on the rest of the farm but have to wait till we get some rain to soften the ground. Love what your doing & trying ourselves to bring our soils back to life. 🍻

@@FatCowFarmTatong pity we don’t live nearby as the Yeomans is something that should be shared with Neighbours. I did a wee video on our channel about 8 months ago with my first attempt using the plough. Keep up the good ideas you show. Helps us with what we’re trying to do to rebuild our soil. 🍻

Just wondering what gradient are you working on out toward the ridges ?

I have been following your experiment with great interest. Doing base level soil tests soon on our hard clay soil in south-east qld (plus a sustained dry period). Then will start keyline/contour cuts with biochar and worm compost tea. Looking forward to applying this into action. Our place is nowhere near as green.

Hey MtMoriah thanks for watching, we have just received 80mm today and I checked out the key lines cuts and they are chock a block full. I'll be interested how long it takes for them to dry out. I'm photo logging the ridges which are the driest to see how they change over the months. I'm expecting to see the major change in the next 18 months. Its good to hear from Qld's I'm from FNQ making a tree change in the high country. The cold still gets me and not getting used to to it. Take care.

@@MtMoriahLowlines That's shocking news, it certainly shows that every drop of rain needs to stay on your property. Have a serious look at the key line cuts & swales. I hope you get some rain shortly.
