Who is Juunas
Love how his saber split into two then he clips it back together again.
Vader does a saber throw in RoTJ
Hey Ryan, for your next video can you talk about this theory that one person (which is me) stated that Qimir could be the first Knight of Ren. Even the Kylo REN music went off in the final scene of the episode.I also think that Sol will eventually succumb to his darkness and become Plagueis. I also believe OSHA and MAE are the same person. Would really appreciate the shoutout in at least one of these theories.
Vader uses a saber throw in the original trilogy
Rey does as well in the training montage of ROS.
Frisbee throw not a boomerang right?
Ty you ☺️
Indeed Vader did, but he threw it but wasn't a Boomerang like Qimir did
Yeah but I think he means we didn’t get to SEE it. All it shows his him rearing back and then the lightsaber hitting the supports holding up the walkway. So we didn’t exactly see it flying like we did in this one. It also didn’t return to his hand, it just fell to the floor
I know Otto Hightower is disgusted that Mae would try the twin swap.
„Insolent pup“
Thank you for that laugh
2 twin swaps in 1 week of media 🍻🍻 luv it
LMFAO😂😂😂
That look on Hightowers face has to become a meme
One big thing that wasn't mentioned. Bazil finds Pip's "head" and sniffs it. When he returns to the ship and is following Sol and Mae, he sniffs again and it appears he is realizing that what he is smelling off of Pip (osha) is not what he's smelling off of who we know is Mae but Sol believes (or is pretending to believe) is Osha.
It might not be Osha he can smell, bit Pip. He was realising that he can only smell Pip from his hand and not in the air?
The scent may be difficult as it is Mae but in Osha’s full outfit. It has to muffle her scent at least somewhat. That and the lightsaber singed hair might make pinpointing the “Mae” distinct smell difficult
Sol can read minds. How did he not notice it's not osha?
@@tigerlancerI believe Sol knows it's Mae
@@bobbyhoward2304 if he knew that, he would not leave osha behind. An editor should have read the script. This show is hard to follow. 70% of the cast is already dead. 🤦🏻♂️
I was super impressed by Jecki's lightsaber ability. She had so much potential which makes her end all the more heartbreaking. She made the Ani mistake, rushing in without her master.
The show is garbage
Honestly, I was bummed to see Jecki die. She did very well for a padawan, especially considering she wasn't prepared to face a Sith Lord. She temporarily arrested Mae, she worked well with Sol with dueling the Sith, she broke his helmet, and altogether lasted longer than pretty much the entire group of Jedi apart from Sol. If she survived and were a little older, this might as well have been her trials to become a knight, not unlike Obi-Wan beating Maul on Naboo or Anakin's first duel with Asajj.
Also, I hope the guy is not Plagueis. My hope is he's Plagueis' apprentice.
Sol always calls Osha and Mae by their names. But when they switch he asks “your sister” so he knows they switched.
Okay so I spent 11-1/2 seconds trying to make a sense of why he wouldn't immediately confront her about it and ask what she did with Osha. And the only thing that works is that he's leaving Osha in the hands of a Sith Lord on purpose.
@@blairhoughton7918 and that does not make sense. So Sol can't even tell his former Padawan apart from her sister.
He not only didn't use her name, he slightly hesitated before saying "your sister".
@@shlatekkin so he intentionally left Osha with the sith on purpose? Make it make sense.

I actually liked the fighting choreography in this episode🔥🔥
i agree but bugs taking qimir up into the sky looked a bit comical
Too bad they couldn't just give us a full scene of fighting instead of breaking the entire episode into 45 second chunks. The cuts are constant and break all the tension, repeatedly.
@@MontgomeryWenisthat’s a Star Wars hallmark tho… there always 3 different battles they would switch between
@@MontgomeryWenisthe editing was so awkward. Nostalgic wipe cuts won’t save bad timing.
Exactly! When Sol had his big stare down with Qimir I went “eeeeeeeeeee! Aaaah shit!!” Then they cut the damn scene 😂
Doug dropped a truth bomb about Sol leaving their Jedi friends to be consumed by local wildlife. That hit hard.
They're becoming One with the Force.
I think they would definitely come back for their bodies. They have to get out of their alive to get a dozen bodies
Do we think the show can effectively execute their rashumon style format and show two more perspectives and tie up the current timeline in 3 episodes??
@@Phbalancedshorty I don't know. Doug is usually spot-on when it comes to SW theories.
Doug was spitting fire the whole episode. Nearly everything that came out of his mouth should be a t-shirt.
Watching a sith mow down Jedi who didn’t even know what “it” (sith) was, was amazing. Truly a testament to the jedis ignorance and even arrogance. They truly think they’re the only ones who can wield the force as they do
The battle had me in edge, totally not expecting Jecki and Yord to die. Credit to all involved that both were total gut punches. Forget the haters, this show is delivering!

My theory is that Qimir is a canon version of Venamis. It would make sense with him using poisons and would set him up to be killed by his master (Tenebrous) and replaced with Plageius
thatd be pretty nice
My current wild theory tracks with this. Qimir is actually Venamis, and Qimir will do something to Mae/Osha in the finale that enrages Sol (probably exposing their past and then killing one or both of them). This will be done in the presence of his master (Tenebrous). Tenebrous will sense the darkness in Sol (you see it slipping through in this episode, like when he attacked from behind and when he almost killed an unarmed Qimir before Osha stopped him), and he will encourage Sol to kill Qimir because he knows Qimir is trying to betray him. This will be the final act that pushes Sol to the dark side, and makes him pledge allegiance to Venamis and become his apprentice (thus becoming Darth Plageius).
Which would ultimately make this series the origin story for Darth Plageius. It would allow him to cover up any mention of the appearance of the Sith (thus preserving Ep 1 canon), and also start destroying the Jedi from within when he returns to the temple. And also explains why he tries to create life with his apprentice, because he has seen the result (the creation of Mae and Osha) and knows it can done through the dark side. To top it off, turning the sun (Sol) dark would also mark the end of the Jedi order.
@@jlhillmann79Plagueis is supposed to be from the banking Clan though, would hate to see him replaced with a human
@@jlhillmann79 Nice theory, except that Plagueis is a Muun species in his novel and graphic novels. I get that the show might not care about changing things, but the Plagueis novel only came out a few years ago, so it would be hard to retcon him into a regular human. And if they DID do that, well… I suspect the fandom will rage harder than they’ve ever raged before, and SW would be in a very troubled situation.
That would be cool but wasn't Venamis a Bith? Like with the theory of it being Plagueis who was part of the banking clan I'd hate for then to take already established Sith Lords and make them human, or human looking when there are so many alien species out there that we'd like to see.
Qimir even sarcastically jokes to Mae about how obvious it was that he turned out to be her master. He almost sounded disappointed that Mae didn't figure it out. I do like Qimir because he's got that Obi-Wan sarcasm, even using it on Sol when he asks why risk discovery and Qimir responds with I was wearing a mask...
Darth Jar Jar drunken master vibes. here for it.
I like it.
It almost proves that the Sith are more like regular people than the Jedi are. I've always said that.
@@ganjagremlinI love the jar jar drunken master theory
I'm just happy we have a show where the sith isn't some emotional wreck. This guy is relatable.
Manny Jacinto is absolutely brilliant casting! He is very adept at playing a fool (in The Good Place) but also has the real looks and charisma to be a strong Villain!
Qimir was using Filipino Martial Arts called Kali or Escrima. What a bad ass tribute from Manny!
"Claustrophobic? Who Would Ever Be Afraid Of Santa Claus?" - Jason Mendoza
Jason figured it out? JASON. Oh this one hurts
Oh dip!

He will be missed😢😢😢😢
Was not expecting him or Jeckis death
RIP 🍻🖤 he was def growing on me. Oi
That guy sucked lol
I liked Jeki. I was warming up to Yord. They got done dirty
I like the theory that Qimir is also from the Cove, created by the witches from the force and secretly living/training when Mae and Osha are children. This is actually possible, cause in episode 3 when Osha says "we are the only children here" the witches that are braiding their hair look at each other. Also, when the mother is talking about the life, the camera shows other witch, Qimir 's possible mother. This theory would explain how Qimir knows about what happened in the Cove and why he cares about the twins so much, because he's their half-brother
It would also explain why he has burn scars on his arms.
That would violate the narrative introducing Quimir is a brother. But… Maybe it’s their other mom. Hiding her appearance ( like a chimera) as a master from everyone. Intruding people’s minds. She carried them during pregnancy and wanted them to be trained harder. That could be the twist.
@@Darth.Shredder thats a good point, didnt notice those
Good theory, but I like mine.
He is The “REN” of the knights of ren, or his master is.
@@markkjacobsongood theory.....after Yorde said that "he got in his head", Osha did tell him her mother can do that and she saw it
So the thing with turning the lightsaber off before the trees fall is also very reminiscent of old samurai movies where a swordsman will draw cut and re-sheath his blade before you see someone or something be cut down.
I love the reveal of the goofy character being a “Sith” lord as sort of a wink to the fan theory that Jar Jar was a secret Sith
Maybe, or it could just be a callback to how Palpatine had everyone, Jedi included, convinced he was like FDR when he was really like Hitler. Sith are masters of deception, “it’s like poetry, it rhymes…” and all that.
I wouldn't call it a reveal. It was pretty obvious to anyone that was watching the show that there was a 99.9% chance it was him. I for one was not remotely surprised.
@@zerolegacy7821I thought he may have been the sith, but then I saw that he was helping Mae find the wookie and stuff, and I doubted that a sith master would do that. Also, when I saw that the sith with jacked, I didn't think that they could've been the same person
@@thesithofearth3617 For me, the fact that he subdued Mae so easily was the dead giveaway. We never really got a look at Qimir's arms before this so who knows but him stopping Mae... sold it for me.

Right before Jecki’s death I was thinking to myself
“I wonder how long before Phantom Menace Jecki died”
Then she was stabbed thrice through her chest
Welp 😂
In a triangle no less, the Sith loves triangles and pyramids. What a reveal, I knew it would be Qimir, but still a great shot.
They’re definitely going to revive her she isn’t dead lightsabers dont kill in disney starwars
@@ChawkletStudios Nah she is definitely dead
why are you calling her Phantom Menace ?
My theory is that Qimir isn't the master but possibly an apprentice of Darth Tenebrous.
If that is correct, I wouldnt be surprised if Qimir gets killed at the end for showing himself too early and for seeking an acolyte (pupil) too.
A cool reveal would be Darth Tenebrous showing up at the end to recruit a young Hego Damask II, (Darth Plagueis)
Would fit with the title of the show. These events set in motion how Tenebrous picks an acolyte that ultimately leads to Palpatine.
This is the most likely scenario and it’s been in my head for weeks now, he is 100% the apprentice, notice how when he speaks with Sol his vocabulary is very specific, he is looking for a pupil.. for an acolyte… he’s not looking for an apprentice to continue to rule of two he’s looking for someone to help him overthrow tenebrous or plagius ( I personally think his master has to be plagius and not tenebrous purely because of the steps tenebrous went through to manipulate the conception of Hugo Damask and that would need a lot more setting up than a few episodes in this series )
That makes a lot of sense. I hope this does happen. It would be so cool to see other siths
I've been thinking the same for a while too - although, they have some timeline issues (20ish years at least) to resolve to fit cannon...
That would be great way to end Season 1 & lead into Season 2! 🤞🏽
“She’s was a child”
“You brought her here…”

Good to see that you caught that cameo of my mom. Haven't seen her in many productions lately.

One interesting detail that my dad pointed out to me about the master’s helmet is that the big smile is very reminiscent of abaloth (the mother of mortis)
That's what I've thought since then first reveal of the helmet
I dunno, maybe kinda. But it really reminds me of Japanese Hannya masks, used in Kabuki and rituals. SW has never been shy about borrowing stylistic elements from Japanese culture, specifically from feudal Japan-Samurai and whatnot. Maybe Abeloth was influenced by Hannya masks first and then Qimir’s helmet was influenced by Abeloth? So maybe both are true, but I immediately thought Hannya masks.
YES been waiting all day! RIP half the main cast!
Darth Vader threw his lightsaber in Return of the Jedi

Marrok threw his in Ahsoka, too

Qimir being strung up by one leg in the “Day” episode is reminiscent of the “Fool” tarot card further burying the lead on his role as master disguised as fool trope.

Amazing breakdown as always. Thanks a ton. I really enjoyed this episode.
We've seen stun blasts not work immediately, but then work after a few more (thinking of the Commando clones from The Bad Batch).
Yeah but you can tell that they were being effected by the stun but the sith didn’t seem to be effected at all or weakened
It has nothing to do with the skills of this particular Sith and everything to do with the armor pieces he’s wearing.

I think Sol actually knows that the sister that followed him is not Osha. He actually asked her about "Her Sister" not Mae.
I agree as well. He knows it’s Mae and is up to as much no-good as she is! ☺️
Right. I thought, at first, how could he not sense who she really was. I think he does know and pretends not to. The look on his face in the ship as she follows him hints at that.
He got one out but not the other. Happened again
@@jeffs6090why would he leave osha with the sith then🤔
I appreciate you having a positive outlook on the Acolyte show. I have been struggling to find a channel that is not extremely negative about it during each episode breakdown.
Also I didn’t notice that the alleged Sith was healing Osha it looked like he moved her over, but I didn’t see the wound heal at all. But perhaps I’m wrong on that mark. Anyway thank you for great content!
One thing that made me know it was him as the stranger/master is that in episode 2 while in his shop, he knew it was OSHA, when he shouldn’t have even know that she had a twin at that time.
I'm liking that sith mask even more it can block lightsaber strikes that cool.
that's gonna be a big seller when they make it...
Yeah it was dope.
@@JulianKandyHasbo is making Darth Qimir's helmet. Preorders go up on June 27 I think....
Could the helmet be Beskar?
No that's actually pretty stupid. They had this armor tech years hefore ep1 and nobody especially sith ever used it lol thats incredibly stupid writing and lore breaking.
Another cool detail: The Master is using form 7 of lightsaber combat, Juyo. The form was used by sith like Darth Maul and was characterized by its wild, random strikes fueled by aggression (Like Yord described). This led to it being banned by the jedi order. This is likely why the jedi in this episode were so unprepared to face it 👍
"Form 7 lightsaber combat" this is why normal people can't stand obsessive star wars fans and have next to no interest in these boring ass shows.
Darth Vader performed a saber throw to Luke in episode 6, when fighting in the Death Star 2 in front of the emperor

THEORY AND EASTER EGG YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED: Episode 3- Destiny has the same title as a clone wars episode, That episode begins with a quote saying "Death is a Beginning." and follows Yoda learning how to become one with the force. I’m not sure why this series gets so much hate. I’m all in and it’s still a good mystery going on halfway through.
Folks rallied their followings to tank it before it was even out because they didn't like what folks said in interviews, then the greater internet jumped on the hate bandwagon like they always do
@@thejuansnow Not entirely true. no he defeated him with a weapon, just didn't kill him with it. It is a pedantic difference I will admit.

This episode was FANTASTIC. A couple other little things:
- During the end of the fight, Sol has to give in to the dark side to finally gain the upper hand. He almost even kills the Master before Osha calls out to him to stop him at the last second, because the Master was unarmed and it's against the Jedi code to kill an unarmed opponent. This ties into the Master's quest to "kill the dream," by not only destroying the Jedi but also destroying everything they stand for. And it also points out that there's a much darker side to Sol that is hiding just below the surface. (Which is then pointed out with the Master tauning him by saying "what have you done with your darkness?"--which you pointed out, but the events leading up to that taunt make it even more potent IMO).
- Also, I think part of Sol's gloves / gauntlets that have the sun motif on them are indicative of some subtle character traits. Sol and many of the other Jedi wear gloves during this era, which I think is a subtle reference to the fact that they're somewhat disconnected from the world around them, they're not willing to get their hands dirty and they also lack empathy because everything they touch is kept slightly at a distance.
The Sith is using a Style of Lightsaber Combat called Trakata. Turning the saber on and off during combat.
I didn't think I saw that fur ng the fighting
lmao
One of the things I notice during the episode was at 13:08 in this video (and during 6:00 to 8:00 of Episode 5) was the dual blue and red lighting on Sol's face. A subtle hit to his Jedi and inner Darkness similar to (although not as extreme) as Vadar during the "Obi-wan" series. I thought it was well done, although I'm a little late to the party so I'm sure others commented on this as well!
Finallly I’ve been waiting all day for this 😭
I suspect Qimir is an apprentice not a master. He referred to Mae as his potential acolyte, so yes... a master to Mae but I think he has his own master yet to be revealed, either Plagueis or Tenebrous or possibly someone like Mother Koril who conjured up dark magic to raise or empower him. Qimir has his own untold reasons for wanting revenge against the Jedi and has burn scars on his arms that may be related. He clearly knows Sol, who I also suspect made a deal with Mother Koril or the witches early on. Sol could even be Qimir's father. SW likes to link characters together and George did it constantly with Luke/Leia, Vader being Luke's father, etc..
“It’s like poetry, they rhyme.”
“Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.”
I believe Qimir is the actual Acolyte like Asajj and will be worshipped as the original knight of Ren.
He would have to be tenebrous' apprentice cause of the rule of 2
Are you sure he knows Sol other than from having met him earlier in the series?
@@cacogenicist Yeah, it seems pretty obvious that he knows him other than from the shop they were surveilling. Qimir asks Sol "you don't remember me?" then Sol acknowledges there is something familiar about him. Qimir seem to know what happened back on Brendok and that Sol never told Mae and Osha the truth. If he doesn't know him he knows an awful lot about him. I think Qimir was probably there during the fire when he was younger. It would explain his burned/scarred skin and motive for revenge. Even after Mae said she no longer wanted to kill the Jedi Qimir said "the master" wants you too.
10:07 When the Jedi stormed the Arena in Attack of the Clones dozens were cut down by battle droids. Droids. The Jedi are typically very bad at actual combat, that's why when Obiwan and Yoda trained Luke they just trained him as an assassin and skipped most of the non-combat training parts.
Ashoka too...she was an entire war veteran and commander by the time she was 16...holy moly child soldier for real
Fire episode 🔥
That episode was some amazing star wars! Faultless IMO
I think Sol might know Mae switched placed, but he needs to get answers from her anyway so getting off world and away from smiloren is the price he has to pay for leaving osha behind
“Chewbacca is played by… the same actor who played Chewbacca”😂 2:16
Another great video! This is, by far, my FAVORITE "breakdown" channel. You guys have the best info and I learn so much every time (plus it's hilarious 😂). All the other entertainment channels' breakdowns are so disappointing. Can't wait to get the new shirt!!!!!
In the plagueis novel, Plagueis and tenebrous had a mining refinery on the planet bal'demnic which contained the cortosis metal which tenebrous intended to use on the jedi disabling their sabers. So maybe Qimir does tie in with darth plagueis.
Correct me if i am wrong tho
Nice catch. Tenebrous actually dies there, if I remember correctly.
@@microcox You are correct
Correct, it indeed shows even more evidence that Qimir has links to plagueis and is benefiting from his master’s tech whilst he seeks someone to overthrow him with, personally I think this series ends with Plagius discovering and killing Qimir then setting his eyes on palpatines predecessor
I’m glad Rylan made the breakdown video this week! And the the 2 clowns from last week!
If I recall correctly New Rockstars’ Jess Clemons has a sheet of the stickers on Pip, they were given as a souvenir for the Acolyte premiere and she shows them off in a video. You guys can probably get a better look there!
One of the only legitimate TH-cam channels that ACTUALLY discusses objectively the content of a lot of comic and film Lore. Thank you ScreenCrush from not giving into these weird culture war nonsense, making everything about agendas and bs when fans just want an honest analysis of some of the favorite franchises. I watch Star Wars because I love great film and art, not to hear at nauseum about the late rage bate to hate some specific group about, it's beyond tiresome and sad so many other channels and content creators has stooped to this pitiful place to get views and likes. I personally am completely over supporting those content creators and watching them cry about whatever rather than discuss a show or series in a sober objective way. Thank you ScreenCrush for being adults!
bruh why do them channels your talking about like mando season 1 and 2 and andor maybe because they are well written and acted shows this channel got early access to the first 3 episodes of this series of course they are going to rant and rave about how good it is even when it’s not so in future they will continue to get early access
@Jrevo77 the original actor of Obi Wan stated vehemently that he hated his role as Obi Wan and hated Star Wars thinking the original movie that started it all was stupid. Get over yourself already. Star Wars was never the Sistine Chapel or Citizen Kane. Fans who remember the OT as some over the top Shakespearian masterpiece IS THE PROBLEM and the delusion. None of the movies were ever that good. They were fun science fiction adventure stories to enjoy, like Flash Gordon, Star Trek, Back to the Future, or Alien ... but if you hold any of these cult classics to the RIDICULOUS standards these delusional fans are nowadays, all of the movies fall apart. The OT has MASSIVE plot holes, and terrible acting at time, and I realized that when I watched it as a child... but I still LOVE those movies. And I hated and still hate the sequels. If you don't like this show, great, but don't act like it's an objective opinion because it's not. Not everyone who likes the Acolyte is a shill, and not everyone who hates the Acolyte is a reasonable person.
its like those other channels you mention have found a niche in the fandom and are milking them for every last cent they can...
@@HowardLogan-gv5kc god damn get out your feels😂now your saying the movies were never that good but your a fan okay well that doesn’t even make sense kid you just yapping about nothing and trying to put words in my mouth i said this bloke has to have a good opinion on the show or he won’t get early access to any more disney content which is true you just carrying on about random stuff
Solid fight choreography
Absolutely brilliant episode. Loving the lightsaber duels! The trading places at the end will definitely be an interesting storyline going forward!
Super detailed breakdown that made me appreciate more what we're working with. I think Jecki was badass, and to see her embracing two full sized lightsabers was a real treat. That topped Ahsoka for the brief moment it happened (14:58).
ALSO! (17:58) Homie whipped out a double-sided black lightsaber, looked into both ends like he's never seen a flashlight in his life. The episode gave it away from the get-go.
Have to admit...the rainbow of light saber colors spinning around was pretty awesome 🎆
Best so far
RIP Jecki. And Yord, I guess. But I really liked Jecki. My theory is that Mae and Osha are a force dyad, but it's because they are the same being split into two separate bodies. If you remember, Mother Koril said something about the Jedi discovering "how" they created the girls. Suggesting that they did something "unnatural"... like maybe used dark side magic to split one child into two... dark side and light side parts. Also, I think it's possible that Qimir is the apprentice and Mother Koril is his master. Before this episode, I figured Qimir was the Sith, but also thought the telegraphing might have been a misdirection and it was actually Koril. And finally, I think Sol knows very well that it's Mae and not Osha, but he's going along with it for now... for reasons.
Best episode so far! The sith vs sol fights was beyond cool.
Jecki holding her own in this fight was extremely impressive for a padawan. Especially when you consider the impromptu dual wielding she was doing against Qimir. Nowhere would she have practiced that skill for dueling unless you’re actively dual wielding sabres all the time. Thought that was a really cool moment
I love how you said "Then again, the force does what's most convenient for the plot at any given time" I can tell how angry that bullshit makes you feel but you have to do what you have to do and can't go against 'them'.
I love your reference to “the ability to speak, doesn’t make you intelligent”. Cause it’s disappointing to see how many haters there are for the acolyte series. I think everybody was quick to jump and not realize that story development takes a bit to roll out. This one is making sure you know the backstory well before jumping in to the real reason of the series. Disappointing that Disney/Star Wars canceled the other seasons. Because I feel that this could turn into a good miniseries.
the ability to make a show doesn't mean you are automatically good at it.
The story writing is stupid
@@coops074 But.. it's really not.
was waiting for thissssss
Prediction: Sol will be the acolyte and new Sith in the end. How do you kill a Jedi without a weapon? You kill their very belief in the Jedi Order. You kill who they believe the Jedi are. We know Sol and crew did something VERY bad 16 years ago, and we have been told before, and specifically in this episode, he is wearing his own mask and hiding his dark side. Is Qimir the master or apprentice? Don’t know, but I’m going with he’s the apprentice looking for someone to assist him in overthrowing his master. In the end, Sol will “die” like Anakin “died.” Heck, maybe his Sith name will be Darth Plagueis, maybe not, but I do believe, in the end, Sol will be the one ending up as a Sith.
This was a masterfully choreographed fight scene. Those jedi were attacking in quick succession and not taking turns; It's kinda hard to navigate flailing sabers from friendly fire while maneuvering uneven terrain in the dark.
The only part I took issue with was allowing Qimir to regroup for a monologue and planting pip for that goofy assist from the flying creatures
