Hey everyone! Thank you guys so much for your patience! I know these full season videos don't come out as often as you guys would like, but that's because we put a shit ton of effort into them to make them as fun and entertaining as possible! If you guys really CAN'T wait for the next Clone Wars videos, we are already completely finished with the entire series on Patreon: www.patreon.com/alexhefner (ps: we just started Avatar: The Last Airbender over there too) Just wanted to take a second and say I love you all
After you finish all the seasons, here's what you should watch next chronologically: * After the Prequel trilogy and The Clone Wars there is *Bad Batch* , then: * *Obi Wan Kenobi show* * *Han Solo movie* * *Star Wars: Rebels* * *Andor* after Andor there is Rogue One and the Original trilogy, but since you have already seen it, then you should watch: * *The Mandalorian* * *Boba Fett show* * *Ahsoka show* * And finally *the Sequel trilogy* at the end. But don't rush into the Sequel Trilogy, they basically make 1-6 movies pointless.
I honestly find watching your reactions more entertaining than watching most new release movies and TV shows these days Brian. That's how sorry the state of the film and television industry is right now. But also how great your reactions are. For starters I already know I'll find this reaction more entertaining than THE BUTTMAN (2022) which I found a real arse ache in the cinema even though this video is just as long.
The Umbara Arc is my absolute favorite arc in Clone Wars I think it is a masterpiece. It really does a good job of showing how brutal the Clone Wars were.
My favourite little side story they took was in Season 4 whenever Obi-wan went undercover as a bounty hunter. A second is when Obi-wan rescues Satine and he's wearing the battle armour the mandalorian's wear.
@@Shockwave377 jabiim is clone wars vietnam, so vietnam that Separatist rebellion that was just mere humans wiped out all clones and jedi except for Annie, Obi1 and Alpha-17 ARC clone trooper. And Republic had AT-ATs at the battleground, yet they still lost. Umbara is.. Idk, there should be real world example where soldiers mistaken their fellow troopers and killed each other
What you might be missing about the Obi-Wan undercover arc is that it is Palpatine attempting to enact the events of Revenge of the Sith early. His capture would kick off a moment akin to the battle of Coruscant, from which the events of Revenge of the Sith would play out similarly. Meaning that Obi-Wan thwarting it was delaying the rise of the Empire by about a year and a half
And it's worth mentioning that in the Dooku versus Anakin duel, Palpatine is really testing both of them, who is more suited to be a Sith apprentice, who is more powerful. That's why when Anakin finally defeated Dooku in Part 3, he ordered Anakin to kill him.
Hey guys! Editor here! I hope you'll enjoy this monster of a video. In all seriousness to the intro these videos do take a pretty long time what with working on other videos at the same time, working on my own channel, and simply making the time to make sure these clone wars videos are JUST as good as the rest of Alex's videos. So I just wanted to say I really appreciate your patience with these, it truly means a lot so THANK YOU! Anyways, hope you guys enjoy! Much love! (Edit) In the intro Alex meant "latest season" not "last season". Don't worry guys every season will find it's way to TH-cam!
holy shit dude.... for real i havent had any program for evening (being 6:30pm here rn). You've just made my friday evening the best one there is! THANK YOU AARON ❤ And dont mind the lenght. Only true SW legends know that MORE CW THE BETTER!!!
1:07:40 actually yes you are right! The Umbaran's were previously in Clone Wars episodes before this ark! They were on the Republic side before their senator got murdered in those mystery episodes. They blamed it on the Republic and joined the Separtists believing the Republic had done it to him
To be fair, it WAS a murder committed by a Republic Senator's assistant IN the Senate building so yeah they were pretty legit to blame it on the Republic. And when they understandably got pissed off and left, the Republic invaded them. Gotta love the good guys ;P
@@balintkovacs4089 it was more like, umbara left->joined the seps=kill the direct route to kashyyyk one of the most important planets strategically for the republic->invasion but yeah Lolla the rodian representative did snowball that whole shit lol
fun fact Alex, if you remember the names, Hardcase, Kix, and Jesse, those were the same 3 clones that aided Rex during the time he got injured and met the clone deserter, Cut👍🏾😀
I still love the detail of Anakin using the name Lars when he is in disguise. He used the name of his stepfather, the man who freed his mother in Episode 2. First name he probably thought of and it was the man who ended Shmi Skywalker's slavery.
Krell was straight evil, but other jedi, like Kota from the force unleashed game, just didn’t think the clones were suited for fighting alongside the jedi in the war, and relied on his own militia, why Vader and his apprentice in the game, Starkiller, had to hunt him down after order 66, so bit of a comparison there.
3:12:20 Sam Witwer is an absolute LEGEND as a voice actor and a super Star Wars nerd! His acting as the Son from the Mortis arc and as Maul from this scene are top tier, but just wait until you see what he's used for coming up in the next few seasons, you're seriously not ready for it!
17:07 Basically, the separatists argue that the Jedi are too concerned with protecting the interests of rich senators who couldn't care less about the people. Put another way, the Republic is corrupt and the Jedi aren't doing anything to solve the problems that have sprung from that corruption.
1:18:30 Hardcase: "Sir, permission to leave the starfighter?" Fives: "For what purpose, Hardcase?" Hardcase: "To give the Separatists back their bomb."
Something with Ahsoka’s design, especially this one where she’s 16, does her being so skinny send the wrong signal to all the young girl Ahsoka fans, or is it just me? Also with 2D and 3D animated human characters in general, they often look, either very perfect and flawless, regardless of age, so just like models and social media perfect bodies and faces can have negative impact on the viewer, has anybody ever considered that animated characters can have the same effect, and not just cause many of them are very beautiful, hot, or attractive, like lara croft for instance, even though more of a tomboy and a strong woman fighter. I know many people will say Tifa from final fantasy, but that’s a Japanese game, and a totally different culture.
So he is a young prince that lost his father, and have grown up in peace and never seen any fighting or conflict in his life. and in 1 day he has to take the throne and lead an army, while his fathers best friend is on the other side. a guy he has grown up to trust,
Its indeed alot of difficult things to hav to deal with all at once. It would be hard for anyone under that kind of pressure to be able to make any right choices. I think he did a fair job over all.
@acdragonrider yeah that's what I mean, then he says later that Boba seems to be a good leader, but questions his age? It's really contradicting. He probably had an off day
@@acdragonrider i mean it's a bit exaggerated sure but its kinda how i felt abt the arc. I just couldn't be bothered to care, i always skip it on rewatches
I get they weren't the best episodes but he has seen FAR worse episodes than the Mon Cala arc and enjoyed them. I feel like he was having a bad day or something.
What is even better is the Clone Wars show also shows the real reason why Anakin turned to the Dark Side he gets frustrated with the council so many times.
the darkest thing anakin does in this entire show is maybe force choke one or two people and get only just visibly mad once or twice. As good as this show is it is completely unfaithful to Anakin's character in the movies, if you saw this show fully before revenge of the sith then it would be a lot harder to buy anakin turning to the darkside.
@@Κωνσταντινος-ξ1ψ I disagree. It makes Anakin's fall so much clearer and tragic. The Council continuously snubs Anakin and show to him that they don't trust him while Palpatine does the opposite, telling Anakin how much he trusts him, how much he believes in him. Probably the best example of this is the treatment of Ahsoka when she is expelled. Also, he has plenty of dark moments in this season alone. You have the Zygirian slaver ark and the obi wan fake death ark (again the Council not trusting him). These elements are evident throughout the show, for example, murdering an unarmed Admiral Trench in Season 7. The reason he is angier/darker in the movies is because his loved ones are actively at risk, his mothers death prompts the murder of the Tuskans and the threat of losing padme combined with everything leading up to that led to his turn to the dark side. The people who evidently don't truly value or trust him want him to let the women he loves die while a father figure who has always told Anakin what he wants to hear is offering him what he wants.
They should have remade ROTS as an entire season on Clone Wars. It could have explained everything the movie couldn't cram in to two hours.... And they could have animated the ROTS deleted scene with Padme and Bail Organa meeting with Mon Mothma and what would become the Rebel Alliance.
I forgot how dark season 4 was! Also, some rare Ahsoka moments, her expericering Anakin’s darkness first hand, even being a little dark herself, and her first kiss, ever, with Lux. Just find that very interesting, how she feels about that in the moment, and afterwards. She knows she can’t be romantic with anyone, but she clearly still feels something. That’s would you could do if this was a novel, get into Ahsoka’s mind and thoughts about such events, struggling with something forbidden, but she’s still “human”, so it’s natural for her to want intimacy with other people. But as Ahsoka’s voice actress Ashley Eckstein said at a con panel, she was so shocked to learn, that jedi were allowed to have “relations”, just not romantic ones… yeah, that got really funny and weird very quickly, but I’d not be surprised if Ahsoka, at her current age of 16, which can’t be compared to real life, cause it’s a futuristic universe with different laws, morals, and ethics, and she’s not human race, that she is intimate, just not romantic, with other people, or even other fellow female jedi padawans her own age. I never liked Ahsoka and Lux together, and I think Ahsoka would’ve had a female love interst instead, if the show was made today, cause I honestly think that would be her sexuality, she never struck me as straight.
There is no way Aaron is your only editor. If so, hats off to him. Especially if we consider the amount of terrible jokes Alex has been saying. Imagine the things he's said that had to be cut from videos because they are too mad for TH-cam. Aaron has been trough some shit we hope to never experience
Good thing Alex was looking at the camera, and not at Ahsoka, when she was lying in the cage just before Anakin saved her, and the camera was showing THAT angle of her… I don’t even wanna think about if this show was 18+, all the dark stuff Ahsoka must’ve been through, which we’ve never seen, but even worse, trained for as a jedi child soldier. Like this slave arc, when she was captured on had to survive with the other jedi younglings on that island, or, SPOILERS: When she gets captured by Hondo and the pirates… good thing she has the force, and inhuman pain tolerance, in such an advanced civilization with extremely good medical care and surgery, cause I think she’s been through A LOT, as a female teen from one of the most attractive races, sadly. Even if being a minor is the same in star wars as in our real life, she’s still, again, a child soldier, and so many outer rim world’s don’t care one bit about her age… this is the last step above Andor which we’ll never ever get, and not just cause it’s Disney who owns star wars now, but star wars was made for kids to be fun, hopeful, and uplifting, so the closest thing to this would be a book, only describing these terrible events, but just like Andor, I think even this is worth mentioning, since it happens a lot in real life too.
1:07:44 in that one episode where Padme’s uncle is murdered (a Season 2 episode, but chronologically before the Nightsisters arc in Season 3), the other senator that got murdered (Senator Mee Deechi) was an Umbaran. His murder led to Umbara breaking off from the Republic, and this in turn led to the Battle of Umbara. Pretty neat how filler episodes can be important too
I would’ve loved a scene during the kenobi undercover arc, where Ahsoka went to Anakin, and asked him if he’s feeling ok, cause she seemed so worried about him, and Anakin should also think about how his behavior is affecting Ahsoka. I just would’ve loved more of those scenes during the clone wars, characters just sitting down, talking about how they feel. And I feel like Anakin would eventually open more and more up to Ahsoka, in a way he’s ever only done to Palpatine actually, but Ahsoka actually cares about him, unlike palpatine, so she would be able to help him in a good way. And I truly think, that if Obi-Wan couldn’t get himself to try to understand Anakin’s actions when he showed up on mustafar to fight him, I think he should’ve realized, that only Ahsoka could possibly talk to him in that moment, cause she’s impartial in that she’s not his family, like Padme is his wife, and not his father figure, like kenobi, who also took orders from the council, which he couldn’t stand.
Fun fact, the director of the second episode in the Umbara arc was Walter Murch, a three time Oscar-winning sound designer who brought his experience on Apocalypse Now into his approach on this arc!
Palpatine wanted to see how far Anakin had come, when Dooku tried to kidnap him on Naboo, and Dooku was told not to kill Anakin, even if he didn’t understand why, or didn’t understand why Sidious wanted Anakin as an apprentice, either instead of or alongside himself.
Easter egg: The 501st clone with the arrow on the helmet is called Appo. Just like Appa from Avatar, who has an arrow on his head because Filoni worked on both series.
12:18 - I feel like word "people" has outgrown boundary of humans quite a long ago. I'd say that, thanks to fantasy fiction, it can be and is used to reference any group of sentient beings and/or all that's sentient by now
58:11 I love the Umbaran arc because Krell shows something that is not talked about much. Incompetence is one thing. Incompetence on a certain scale is only possible through malicious intent
Krell was a textbook psychopath, and was blatantly a Jedi in name only. He acted like a Sith, driven by strong and negative emotions: hatred, sadism, maliciously letting Clone Troopers die, and destroying troop morale by deciding he had the right to execute without trial any clone who "talked back" or pointed out how idiotic Krell's battle plan was. Sacrificing your own troops for nothing is idiotic, yes, even if you look at it solely from the points of resources (and waste thereof). How the Jedi Council could not sense Krell was inhinged is beyond me.
The Umbaran arc started because the Umbaran senator was murdered in the episode "Senate Murders." The Republic was blamed for his death and so they left the Republic hence the war on Umbara.
You should really check out some interviews with maul’s voice actor, Sam Witver, one of the biggest star wars nerds on the planet, and most involved star wars actors. He also voice the son in the mortis arc you watched, and was the main character in the star wars game the force unleashed, which you should play, as well as having voiced Darth Sidious, the emperor, and being the best impersonator of that voice. Can’t say enough good things about him.
@theawesomeman9821 What's sad is both sides have great and awful traits, the Separatists are controlled by corporations (The Techno Union, Banking Clan, and the trade Federation) literally making the war last long enough to fill their pockets, Heroes on both sides really makes you sad for both sides since it's clear both sides are just the same group being played as pawns by Palpatine
2:45:45 well MY understanding of their relationship is Palpatine sees the dark potential in Anakin. So when it’s Anakin vs Dooku he’s happy if Anakin kills Dooku because then it proves him right about Anakin being stronger, but he doesn’t care too much about Anakin dying either because then it would prove Dooku as his worthy apprentice too. Palpatine definitely recognizes Dookus extreme swordsmanship skills but he mainly wants Anakin.
Apparently, Maul was so fueled with hate and anger towards Obi-Wan, he was able to use the Force to construct those spider legs out of junk and literally was able to move them only with the Force. That with the combination of being trapped on Lothel Minor for at least 13+ years is what drove him insane.
I love the Krell arc because it's the case in point on why Palpatine made Jedi be generals and commanders to begin with. War changes people. The necessity of making hard decisions and sacrificing lives, doubly so. It's a matter of time before some of them turn to the dark side of their own volition. Hence, Krell.
Then rebels he was even more broken. Stripped from his mothers arms, Cut in half, abandoned by palpatine, basically left to die, brother killed by palpatine
1:01:04 Well there's kinda a difference between being attached and respect. Mace Windu is a perfect example of this with the clones. In S1 he gets the AT-TE pilot to safety. Then he goes with his men on AT-RT's to destroy the tanks. And later on in that episode he uses the force to get the two ARF troopers to safety before the bridge deactivates instead of saving himself first. In S2 he gets the clone trooper who was hit by Boba's bomb to safety. The clone trooper died, but he didn't know that in the moment and cared. And then in S7 he doesn't send a squad to disarm the bomb he does it himself and tells everyone else to leave. Windu can be a pain in the ass, but he like most other jedi genuinely respect and thus care for the clones as people, Krell doesn't do that.
Don’t know Boba’s age in this arc or the clone wars, he’d be around half as old as the clones, maybe a little older, so only around 12-13 years old, cause he ages normally, the clones age twice as fast.
I love that "Ben" is just Obi-Wan's default nickname, he used it as a padawan on Mandalore, here in the prison, and later on Tatooine. It's like the Doctor (Who) calling himself John Smith.
2:10:55 We’ve seen in earlier episodes Anakin turning dark slowly doing more dark things . But This arc is the beginning of when Anakin really starts having doubts and resentment towards the council and not trusting him with such important information. Especially when his mentor/friend/brother kept him in the dark. Obi wan above everyone else should know not telling Anakin would make his emotions spiral out of control.
"Obi wan above everyone else should know not telling Anakin would make his emotions spiral out of control." Jedi was trained to _control_ their emotions. Jedi are not supposed to act whiny and brash. Anakin from the 2nd movie onward always acted like a whiny teenager. He acted like a Sith, letting his anger and arrogance and possessive obsession for Padme control him. That's what angers me about the Prequels: Lucas botched Anakin Skywalkers "fall to the Dark Side" (and picked actors for Anakin and Obi-Wan who were about 15 years too young). It's not much of a tragic fall if the character never embodied the virtues of the Jedi in the first place. Compare that to how Kenobi descried his friend the revered Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker back in A New Hope! And the Anakin from SW2:AotC had no resemblance to the plucky little boy from The Phantom Menace. We didn't see his training years, we only saw him 10 years later when he was a douchebag.
Literally the best series you’ve made so far, started watching your clone wars series, subbed and have binged your last 3 years of movies. Keep it up Alex! And don’t slow down with the Star Wars there’s a huge presence of TH-cam users that are huge Star wars fans. Lotta views!
bro, ive been hospitalized for the last 2 weeks, 3rd one coming up. 2 Emergency Surgerys done, prayin i wont need a 3rd one. And watching this video is the first thing that made me genuinly smile. Love your personality.❤
Krell would get smashed by Anakin and Obi-Wan, those two were described to be the best duelists in the Order. General Krell is excellent against multitudes of blaster-wielding foes because of his lightsabers. So... 1. Anakin (Obi-Wan can only defeat him when he uses his emotions against him, but in raw power and duelling skill Anakin has Obi-Wan beat) 2. Obi-Wan. 3. General Pong Krell the Pongo
@@theredpillneo2296 That is certainly a viable outcome, but the problem is in the way Anakin uses the Force. He uses Djem So, which is the perfect offense style, and in order to use this style to maximum affect Anakin uses the Force to enhance his body in certain ways. Thus, we see him do incredible physical stunts, as well as take punishment without flinching. You saw Anakin get absolutely smoked by Dooku, yet shakes his head and runs after him once again. Notice that this is a borderline darkside ability, as that is what darksiders use to stay alive despite horrific wounds. I am pretty sure he can use this same technique to stave off exhaustion. Have you ever seen Anakin looking tired? As well as remeber, Obi-Wan is about 37 years old. Anakin is in the prime of physical health at 20, while already being one of the best duelers in the Jedi Order. Anyway, hope you enjoyed my essay🤣🤣🤣
@@theredpillneo2296you don’t understand the lore at all buddy sorry. Obi wan is nowhere near anakin the only reason he beat him was luck of the circumstance and anakin being arrogant and stupid in the heat of the moment. It is stated by literally everyone and if you power scale them anakin is on a completely different level. In the 3rd movie of the prequels In ROTS Dooku literally one shots obi wan like he’s cannon fodder and anakin proceeds to wipe the floor with him and kill him
The umbara arc is one of the best if not the best arc in the whole clone wars. It not only shows the importance of having someone competent in command, but it also shows how horrible war can be, how you have to put aside your morals to get the job done (like when they had to leave behind the wounded to survive), shows sacrifice, honor, and it develops the clones so so much, and it shows how they're much more than just numbers, They are people with feelings who can think for themselves. Men, not clones, men. It also brings up a lot of super important questions and thoughts, like what happens to the clones after the war (yes we know what happens but they didn't know) or everything yo do with following orders blindly 1:22:09 notice that Kix is in the fire squad (for reference he's the one with the elaborated haircut and the words on the side- which, fun fact, if I'm remembering correctly it translates to "a good droid is a dead one"). Kix is a medic. I find it extremely cruel that they're making a medic fire in the firing squad. His job is literally to save lives, at one point Rex had to drag him away bc he wanted to help the wounded, which would've killed him bc they were overwhelmed and had to retreat, and yet they're making him be one of the selected to fire at Jesse and Fives. Even if at the end they didn't really kill them, just thinking about it makes me a little sick
I love that they gave maul so much more backstory after the phantom menace cause he is so important to the story and knew all of palpatines plans from the first movie, he knew about the clone army, order 66, palpatines plan to become the chanceler, his plan to make anakin into darth vader and so much more way before anyone else had any idea
3:09:26 mate that shit took me out was _not_ expecting Alex to join in too 😂 Also could not wait for him to get to this point since the night sister part in the last video. that spider-bro reveal was crazy
The thing about Grievous is that he's not too dangerous as a fighter, but he's responsible for the streamlining of the droid army. That's why he's so valuable to the seperatists, because he runs the droid army.
Hey Alex a little lightsaber info for you, white sabers do exist, but the only way to get a white sabre is if you purify a sith Khyber crystal and purge the bleeding from it...leaving the blade color white which carries a message of true balance in the force, the dark saber is one of a kind, it was created by the first "Mandalore" and he was also a Jedi but he left the order, the saber was put into the Jedi archives where is was later stolen and given back to the ruler of Mandalore, who ever holds the dark saber is the rightful ruler of Mandalore, but it has to be earned in single combat to the death or till one yields, which usually ends with the loser dying anyways, hope this helps you out some my friend.
I can still remember cold autumn morning when I was just preparing to go to school & glanced over newly aired Darkness on Umbara episode. RIP Waxer (my favorite clone) Thanks Alex for the three-hour video!
"That's not an [counter]offer, that's a countermeasure, dickhead" I don't think I've ever laughed out loud that hard at one of Alex's comments. That was comedy gold.
23:45 in Phantom Menace, the Gungans basically allowed the seperatists to take Naboo because of the divide between the Naboo and the Gungans. The Jedi and Padme had to beg them personally to help.
The reason you keep thinking seasons and arcs are getting better is because this show truly improved in almost every aspect overtime. Animation, character development , plots, it was a kid show that grew up with its audience. i forget by season 4 they go all in, Decapitations, on screen impaling, genocide, implied youngling slaughter, slavery. This was still being premiered on Cartoon network at the time , lmao what an age
3:12:09 if you didn’t know this is the same line the son used in the mortis arc (when he was a little rat talking to Ashoka) it’s part of the sith code. “Through victory my chains are broken”. I think in Maul’s case it was the ramblings of a crazed man who was able to achieve the victory from the code, and regardless the code abandoned him and left him for dead.
5:58 Ahsoka is a trained child soldier with vast military experience. Lee Char is an untrained prince whose father was just murdered and has never been in battle let alone an attack he didn’t expect
I also love how Ventress becomes a Bounty Hunter is such a great story for a character who was once a Jedi then became a Sith and then got betrayed so she only ends up having to rely on herself and she is still one of the best Characters in Star wars.
I think the Mon Calamari arc was hoping to tie into nostalgia for a certain someone from the original trilogy who became a pop culture icon in and of itself. (It's a Trap!) Essentially its no more or less amazing than the other arcs but just serves as a nice little bit of lore and worldbuilding for that particular species. And the Mon Calamari and Quarren do play a big part in the rebel alliance in the actual lore so this serves as a reminder that a certain dark time is fast approaching
Fun Fact: The providence destroyer or Dreadnought (2 variations of different sizes exist) used mon Calamari shielding, but since the main controllers of the CIS were only in it for war profiteering, it was incredibly cheaply made and thus was worse than regular shielding
Well, as a note... you always have to have in mind that the whole Clone Wars is Palpatine playing chess with himself, since he is commanding both sides as the Supreme Cancellor of the Republic and as Darth Sidious, master of Dooku, the public face of the Separatist movement.
I love how Darth Maul’s return is such a huge moment that every force sensitive person can feel it, regardless of their relationship to him. Really builds him up as this monster that dwarfs anything else in the show.
The undercover arc was Palpatine's first attempt to see if Anakin was ready to be pushed over the edge. Unknown to Dooku, it was all a plan in belief that Anakin would kill Dooku in rage, and unknowingly kill Obi-Wan, being pushed to Palpatine if the Jedi wrongfully blamed Anakin rather than themselves.
The thing is, Dogma literally wasn't able to be "obedient". Not only had the Clones been indoctrinated from literal birth. But they all had control chips in their brains, which they didn't know about. Rex and Fives and some others (like the Bad Batch) being able to question and refuse orders was a hint their chips were failing; or in the case of the Bad Batch their chips never properly worked in the first place because they were "defective" (from the POV of the Cloners), with an abberant brain structure that allowed them more autonomy and enhanced senses, or intelligence, or strength.
In regards to krell vs skywalker on how they treat their clones. Plo Koon is a great example. on the side of their 104th gunships is a art that says plo's bros so its basically krell who hates clones
It's so weird how i've seen your whole clone wars series through season 7 and tales of the jedi on your patreon and we are just now getting to season 4 on youtube.
watched all the episodes on patreon and the journey WAS FUCKING EPIC. Even yough you just finished a few days ago TIME TO WATCH THE EDITED VERSION LETS GO!
Season 4 has some really great arcs... Some of my favorites! The undercover Obi-Wan arc showing more of Obi-Wan's cunning and skill along with the trial run of Palpatine's plan to pit Dooku and Anakin against each other... The Umbaran arc showing a space Vietnam War style story with the clones and giving them an emotional turmoil and conflict with an enemy that gives off inverse order 66 vibes... The Maul return arc is pure perfection and done so well, showing that rage boil to another level and teasing the chaos effect he'll enact in the future. His resurrection via Mother Talzin is the start of a great story (one that you'll have to go outside of the show to know more because Disney didn't want to include a very crucial arc in their last season of TCW... For me, the show ends at S6 along with the unfinished arcs and comic/novel adaptations... Originally there were supposed to be 8 seasons of The Clone Wars). Great reaction overall! Also... Krell would get completely destroyed by Anakin and/or Obi-Wan... They're among the best of the best, hence why they're trusted for so many important missions. Krell appears intimidating and is powerful, but he wouldn't last against Ani or Obi.
He isn't actually. The VA for Palpatine in Clone Wars was Ian Abercrombie, who passed away during the production of Season 5 and was replaced by Tim Curry for the rest of Season 5 and for Season 6. Sam Witwer did, however, play Palpatine in The Force Unleashed and in Star Wars Rebels (though he was later replaced in reruns of Rebels by Ian McDiarmid, who plays Palpatine in all the movies). He just didn't play Palpatine in Clone Wars specifically.
holy shit dude.... for real i havent had any program for evening (being 6:30pm here rn). Before watching I cant wait to see your reaction to Mauls return. The guy who voiced him, Sam Witwer, also voiced The Son of Mortis arc. Hes brilliant in these roles. Met him personally and OOOOHHHH MAAAN what a great person he is. You've just made my friday evening the best one there is! And dont mind the lenght. Only true SW legends know that MORE CW THE BETTER!!!

Just wanted to take a second and say I love you all
We love you, too Alex!!! We appreciate the effort 🩵🩵
After you finish all the seasons, here's what you should watch next chronologically:
* After the Prequel trilogy and The Clone Wars there is *Bad Batch* , then:
* *Obi Wan Kenobi show*
* *Han Solo movie*
* *Star Wars: Rebels*
* *Andor* after Andor there is Rogue One and the Original trilogy, but since you have already seen it, then you should watch:
* *The Mandalorian*
* *Boba Fett show*
* *Ahsoka show*
* And finally *the Sequel trilogy* at the end. But don't rush into the Sequel Trilogy, they basically make 1-6 movies pointless.
Do NOT apologize!! This format is incredible!! Please keep doing them like this+
Dude i've been waiting so long for this lets gooo
I honestly find watching your reactions more entertaining than watching most new release movies and TV shows these days Brian.
That's how sorry the state of the film and television industry is right now. But also how great your reactions are. For starters I already know I'll find this reaction more entertaining than THE BUTTMAN (2022) which I found a real arse ache in the cinema even though this video is just as long.
The Umbara Arc is my absolute favorite arc in Clone Wars I think it is a masterpiece. It really does a good job of showing how brutal the Clone Wars were.
I would have liked to been a fly on the wall when Anakin learned what Krell did to his men.
clone wars vietnam
My favourite little side story they took was in Season 4 whenever Obi-wan went undercover as a bounty hunter. A second is when Obi-wan rescues Satine and he's wearing the battle armour the mandalorian's wear.
@@Shockwave377 jabiim is clone wars vietnam, so vietnam that Separatist rebellion that was just mere humans wiped out all clones and jedi except for Annie, Obi1 and Alpha-17 ARC clone trooper. And Republic had AT-ATs at the battleground, yet they still lost.
Umbara is.. Idk, there should be real world example where soldiers mistaken their fellow troopers and killed each other
Best arc in clone wars
What you might be missing about the Obi-Wan undercover arc is that it is Palpatine attempting to enact the events of Revenge of the Sith early. His capture would kick off a moment akin to the battle of Coruscant, from which the events of Revenge of the Sith would play out similarly. Meaning that Obi-Wan thwarting it was delaying the rise of the Empire by about a year and a half
yes, this🙌
And it's worth mentioning that in the Dooku versus Anakin duel, Palpatine is really testing both of them, who is more suited to be a Sith apprentice, who is more powerful. That's why when Anakin finally defeated Dooku in Part 3, he ordered Anakin to kill him.
Interesting to think about. However without Padmé being pregnant, I wonder what Palpatine would use to send Anakin off the deep end
@@bacondoritoOne can only wonder

Thank YOU man! A video over 3 hours long is a lot of work and we appreciate that so much. You're amazing!
holy shit dude.... for real i havent had any program for evening (being 6:30pm here rn). You've just made my friday evening the best one there is! THANK YOU AARON ❤ And dont mind the lenght. Only true SW legends know that MORE CW THE BETTER!!!

The fact that this is exactally 3 hours 25 min makes it 10 times better 😂😂 love your work bro!!!
Thank you so much, I always look forward to these videos!

Another name you can notice is Obi wan using “Ben” while undercover. Hinting to “Ben Kenobi”
3:12:20
Sam Witwer is an absolute LEGEND as a voice actor and a super Star Wars nerd! His acting as the Son from the Mortis arc and as Maul from this scene are top tier, but just wait until you see what he's used for coming up in the next few seasons, you're seriously not ready for it!
Yeah Sam is a true legend, for me he will always be Starkiller from The Force Unleashed but I still love his other work you have mentioned ❤
He was also in the mist
17:07 Basically, the separatists argue that the Jedi are too concerned with protecting the interests of rich senators who couldn't care less about the people. Put another way, the Republic is corrupt and the Jedi aren't doing anything to solve the problems that have sprung from that corruption.
And they weren't wrong.
This also shows in the season 7 arcs with the sisters where Ahsoka gets to know hands on how people feel about the Jedi in the war.
Yeah basically instead of being impartial and “guardians of peace and justice,” they’re the pawns and enforcers of a corrupt government.
1:18:30 Hardcase: "Sir, permission to leave the starfighter?"
Fives: "For what purpose, Hardcase?"
Hardcase: "To give the Separatists back their bomb."
I found the shit talking really unbearable, annoying, distracting and aggravating. He made me so mad
Try not to spoil the next few seasons for Alex challenge: IMPOSSIBLE 😭
They should have remade ROTS as an entire season on Clone Wars.
It could have explained everything the movie couldn't cram in to two hours....
And they could have animated the ROTS deleted scene with Padme and Bail Organa meeting with Mon Mothma and what would become the Rebel Alliance.
@@Κωνσταντινος-ξ1ψ you haven't watched the show then lmao
Let’s fucking go!!! More Clone Wars 🎉
Hell yeah!
Like this slave arc, when she was captured on had to survive with the other jedi younglings on that island, or, SPOILERS:
When she gets captured by Hondo and the pirates… good thing she has the force, and inhuman pain tolerance, in such an advanced civilization with extremely good medical care and surgery, cause I think she’s been through A LOT, as a female teen from one of the most attractive races, sadly.
The Umbara Arc is one of the greatest Arc's of the Clone Wars💯🔥
Yup. My absolute favorite. Shit was badass
Rip Hardcase
Easter egg:
The 501st clone with the arrow on the helmet is called Appo. Just like Appa from Avatar, who has an arrow on his head because Filoni worked on both series.
Also Appa is voiced by the same dude who does the Clones
12:18 - I feel like word "people" has outgrown boundary of humans quite a long ago. I'd say that, thanks to fantasy fiction, it can be and is used to reference any group of sentient beings and/or all that's sentient by now
I still think "Citizens" would be a better term though
Can’t believe he said “something bad needs to happen in war” like 3 episodes before Umbara lmao
Man, Anakin and Padme should’ve adopted Ahsoka, and they should all have left the republic, raising Luke and Leia together.
This arc made me root against the Galactic Republic
Darth Maul and Savage Opress stole the show for me. And Sam Witwer was absolutely stellar as Maul and Clancy Brown as Savage you can’t go wrong.
Breaking News: Man Too Angry to Die.
Maul was cut in half, discarded by his master, and left to languish in the trash heap for years. His mind was broken
Then rebels he was even more broken. Stripped from his mothers arms, Cut in half, abandoned by palpatine, basically left to die, brother killed by palpatine
In Florida, we call that "student loans".
I love seeing your Clone Wars reactions, it’s truly one of the most important TV shows in my life and seeing you watch them is really something.
Wow, never noticed the E.T alien in one of the shots in the bar, after Ventress killed that one bounty hunter, cool.
Ahsoka was a trained Jedi. The Prince was a kid throw in a war with a responsability he was not prepared for
Alex, this is often how royalty worked. Inherited positions of power didn’t necessarily come with intelligence or skill.
the chancellor is continually having anakin and dooku face off one on one cause hes testing to see if anakin is ready to replace dooku
You stuck with it, and finally made it to the really good stuff! Enjoy the ride from here on out, a lone Wars only gets better from here
He’s already finished the series a bit ago
You should play the jedi fallen order and jedi survivor star wars games.
"Obi wan above everyone else should know not telling Anakin would make his emotions spiral out of control."
Jedi was trained to _control_ their emotions.

Love this episode. First On screen appearence of Bo-Katan Kreize, our favorite Mandalorian
Kryze*
Its funny he compliments Bobas facial features when hes a clone, hes seen his face a thousand times.
Krell would get smashed by Anakin and Obi-Wan, those two were described to be the best duelists in the Order. General Krell is excellent against multitudes of blaster-wielding foes because of his lightsabers. So...
1. Anakin (Obi-Wan can only defeat him when he uses his emotions against him, but in raw power and duelling skill Anakin has Obi-Wan beat)
2. Obi-Wan.
3. General Pong Krell the Pongo
Nah obi wan def wins against Anakin with his perfect defense, he just needs to play defense and hold out until he gets tired
In the 3rd movie of the prequels In ROTS Dooku literally one shots obi wan like he’s cannon fodder and anakin proceeds to wipe the floor with him and kill him
Animated or not. The Umbaran arc of TCW is one of the best things ever put to television.
Clone Wars is peak Star Wars shows
Honestly appreciation comment for Aaron the editor. He’s so slick w/ the transitions and the jokes. Alex did good with him! All hail Aaron!
It also brings up a lot of super important questions and thoughts, like what happens to the clones after the war (yes we know what happens but they didn't know) or everything yo do with following orders blindly
1:22:09 notice that Kix is in the fire squad (for reference he's the one with the elaborated haircut and the words on the side- which, fun fact, if I'm remembering correctly it translates to "a good droid is a dead one").
The wave Anakin gives R2 to launch the sabers is a nod to Luke doing exactly the same in Return of the Jedi

“I have been waiting a long time for this moment”.
Alex, you make me laugh especially when you're jump scares but your editors responses freaking can me up to. Hail to the editor 😆
The thing about Grievous is that he's not too dangerous as a fighter, but he's responsible for the streamlining of the droid army.
That's why he's so valuable to the seperatists, because he runs the droid army.
Man... Sam Witwer is doing an amazing job voice acting for Maul here. Just.. chefs kiss!
The Deception - Crisis on Naboo episodes were where Anakin's faith in the Jedi Order was starting to waver...
I can still remember cold autumn morning when I was just preparing to go to school & glanced over newly aired Darkness on Umbara episode. RIP Waxer (my favorite clone)
Thanks Alex for the three-hour video!
"That's not an [counter]offer, that's a countermeasure, dickhead"
I don't think I've ever laughed out loud that hard at one of Alex's comments. That was comedy gold.
I had just been thinking “when is Alex going to drop more clone wars, it’s been way too long”
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
23:45 in Phantom Menace, the Gungans basically allowed the seperatists to take Naboo because of the divide between the Naboo and the Gungans. The Jedi and Padme had to beg them personally to help.
2:19:36 Fun fact: As Cad Bane is picking hats, he inspects the hat of Indiana Jones before putting it aside.
😂
The reason you keep thinking seasons and arcs are getting better is because this show truly improved in almost every aspect overtime. Animation, character development , plots, it was a kid show that grew up with its audience. i forget by season 4 they go all in, Decapitations, on screen impaling, genocide, implied youngling slaughter, slavery. This was still being premiered on Cartoon network at the time , lmao what an age
YESSSSSS MORE STAR WARS
Alex be like I love Anakin but when Anakin speaks Just judges him all the time 😂😂
He judges characters he loves i guess.
5:58
Ahsoka is a trained child soldier with vast military experience.
Lee Char is an untrained prince whose father was just murdered and has never been in battle let alone an attack he didn’t expect
sick at home today, this makes my day much better
Perfect
I also love how Ventress becomes a Bounty Hunter is such a great story for a character who was once a Jedi then became a Sith and then got betrayed so she only ends up having to rely on herself and she is still one of the best Characters in Star wars.
I think the Mon Calamari arc was hoping to tie into nostalgia for a certain someone from the original trilogy who became a pop culture icon in and of itself. (It's a Trap!)
Essentially its no more or less amazing than the other arcs but just serves as a nice little bit of lore and worldbuilding for that particular species.
I cannot wait to see your reaction to the final arc of the series. One of thr most emotional and best finales ever.
No Fucking Way I Literally Just Checked For a New Video 10 Minutes Ago, WE’RE BACK
Well, as a note... you always have to have in mind that the whole Clone Wars is Palpatine playing chess with himself, since he is commanding both sides as the Supreme Cancellor of the Republic and as Darth Sidious, master of Dooku, the public face of the Separatist movement.
One of the people you always see around Chancellor Palpatine in the prequels was an Umbaran woman.
Obi-Wan using a red light saber while fighting with Ventress is one of the coolest things in Star Wars.
Oooh... i cant wait for the next season!! It really gets sooo much better amd cant wait for you to start Rebels 😊
In regards to krell vs skywalker on how they treat their clones. Plo Koon is a great example. on the side of their 104th gunships is a art that says plo's bros
so its basically krell who hates clones
I've always maintained that Anakin and Dooku's duel on Naboo was the first time Palpatine tried to set Dooku up to be killed by Anakin.
It's so weird how i've seen your whole clone wars series through season 7 and tales of the jedi on your patreon and we are just now getting to season 4 on youtube.
Ahsoka holding Obi-Wan's seemingly lifeless body in her arms with tears in her eyes always gives me some chills.
I was so excited to see your reaction to the Umbara arc, its my all time favourite arc in the clone wars
judging by how disney treats the Star Wars fanchise lets just say "help us Dave Filoni, you're our only hope"
The ahsoka show was terrible though
@@willhunter882 Ahsoka is one of the few good shows Disney has. They really should just throw out the ST and make a Thrawn trilogy.
watched all the episodes on patreon and the journey WAS FUCKING EPIC. Even yough you just finished a few days ago TIME TO WATCH THE EDITED VERSION LETS GO!
Woooohoooo! Let’s go! The craziest arcs start here!
"Calling someone so useless 'Your Highness' hurts me." - I'm British and I feel this on a spiritual level
IM WATCHING THIS AS SOON AS I GET HOME, ALSO I GOT MY SOSTER HOOKED ON YOUR VIDEOS!!!
It's all just Alice in wonderland, Gulliver's travels, and wizard of Oz
Underrated
I just woke up this is the best thing I’ve ever woke up to
Season 4 has some really great arcs...
Peak Star Wars man, absolute PEAK
This series is purely art I can’t wait for you to see the last season
Oh btw the voice actor of maul is also palpatine in the clone wars. His name is Sam witwer! He is such a good actor.
The last 4 episodes of season 7 actually are like a mini movie and known as some of the best of star wars. At least in recent years
TRUE
holy shit dude.... for real i havent had any program for evening (being 6:30pm here rn).
Alex, today was the end of finals week. I sat through the most stressful and challenging final (also the last) and as I was celebrating its completion what comes up on my radar but this! Thank you for the coincidental present. Will enjoy
Been waiting for this ♥️🙌🏽 let’s gooooooo 🎉
I’ve been looking forward to this 😏
1:12 “LAST SEASON on the TH-cam?!?” WHYYYYYYYYY
Didn't actually pay attention, huh? It was part of the joke about pissing off his editor lol
@@M0ldyBr3ad55ohh I thought he was about to start doing them on patron only that does make more sense, I just woke up when I started watching the intro and was like NOOOO😂
Oh my god i got worried to, I completely forgot everything he had just said, I now realize he was making a joke. Thank God we getting more
@@the1potatowizardeditor actually said he meant to say “last” season so it wasn’t really a joke it was just him misspeaking 😂
