I loved how he still injected a bit of humor when Sol asked him about why he'd risk revealing himself, and he just shrugged and said something like, "Well, I was wearing a mask."
In the episode where they’re in the apothecary, Qimir shouts at them when they come in, something like, “Please don’t do your Jedi mind wipe thing!” I think he said that to put them off guard, and make them self conscious about doing something so invasive. So I believe that’s why Sol was put off guard and didn’t investigate him any deeper at the time. Just kinda what I was thinking anyway. 🤷♂️
When he said that, he also held his hands open in front of him waving with his hands, so it might have been more than just trying to put them off guard.
So we're supposed to believe that Qimir is on a similar level to Palpatine, who could hide his darkness right under the nose of the Jedi? Lol they're portraying the Jedi of this era as detectives, they're literally investigating a murder, but because one of their potential suspects asks them not to wipe his mind, I guess they're too self conscious to pick up on his darkness or be suspicious of him whatsoever.
The Jedi need to change their murder rules when it comes to defenseless Sith Lords. When you can eliminate someone that dangerous it needs to be done ASAP. Mace Windhu made the right decision
I absolutely love how Quimir fights in this episode. Especially with his helmet and brace. He literally decides to head but a lightsaber and all of a sudden it’s off.
That's because his helmet and bracer are made of Cortosis. It's an extremely rare metal in star wars that's Lightsaber resistant, but also short circuits lightsabers when in contact. It's why whenever he backhands a lightsaber or headbuts it the saber turns off temporarily.

I have experience felling trees and I went back to look at this on my first watch. The trees wouldn’t necessarily fall towards the lower edge of the cut - it all depends on the center of gravity of what is above the cut (all the branches and such). In a forest, trees rarely grow evenly on all sides, which is why you look up the trunk when planning your cut to basically do the opposite of what the episode showed and make your notch on the heavy side. So, it’s possible as shown, but also one of the least safe ways to purposefully cut down a tree :)
Also worth noting that Qimir doesn't actually fully cut through the trunks. They fall towards the upper end of the cut because of this and what you're saying about the center of gravity. The trunks "barber chair" and fall against the grain. You can actually spot the last bits of trunk peeling away and snapping on their backsides. Apparently they did their research!

Even Yord being injured works toward setting up this expectation; our guys wont be unscathed, n but they'll be ok. And it really shows us how strong our Sith Lord is, sets stakes, and is some really great and pretty brutal sabre combat. The force pull into an already run through Jedi was superb. He said we haven’t seen anyone get their neck snapped this violent in Star Wars when Darth Vader literally snapped a kids neck with the force when chasing Obi-Wan 😂
That's the point. Vader did it with the Force. Qimir did it old school with his bare hands, with sheer muscle strength. That grounds it more in reality making it more violent. Of course the victim wouldn't care how their neck got snapped, both are violent and fatal
The way jeki was unalived reminded me of how kit fisto's padewon, Nahdar, was unalived by grievous in animated Clone Wars.. One block and three body shots .
7:50 if the branches of the tree above the camera have all grown in the way that they ended up falling, it could explain what we are seeing. The gravity of the upper branches on only the one side would pull the tree over the way we see.
I thought Qimir & Sol had some connection myself at first but it wouldn't make sense as it seems like Sol is a bit older than Qimir & he mentioned that he took the trials at the age of 4 in episode 3. I do think Osha & Mae could possibly end up switching sides or getting a sense of each other perspectives that will drastically effect the way they look at both opposing factions( Mae leaving with the Jedi & Osha being stuck with Qimir).
That's normal, the way the trees fell when sliced by lightsaber....because the weight of the sliced part of the tree is heavier so fall backwards and not forward
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Definitely my favorite, and I hope it is all uphill from here. I do think it was completely intentional that we all suspected Qimir to be the apprentice. There is some one else behind the curtain. I think we’re going to get into some serious Sith lore and history, see a live-action Tenebrous or Plagueis.
Luke : [clinging to an antennae below Cloud City] Leia... Hear me, Leia... Princess Leia : [in the Falcon] Luke... We've got to go back. Lando : What? Princess Leia : I know where Luke is!
The sliced trees have heavier branches on the side toward which they fall, so it makes physical sense that they would fall that way. The second one even falls into the third one pushing it a bit to the side as well. But yes, it was essentially done because it made a cool visual with the red ends on the stumps angled toward the camera.
😂😂 your description of this is the just about the perfect post script of this series, ' it's not possible, and makes no sense, but we will do it because we think it is a bit entertaining ' 😂 It's not.

It would be cool if Sol & Qimir were originally from an all-male planet/coven that were force users mirroring the all-female witches at the beginning. Maybe a flashback of Sol at 4 years old being tested & his parents & community being upset he is having to leave them. It would explain why Qimir asked if Sol recognized him & also the line about "I've accepted my darkeness. What have you done with yours?" Force users universally wanting to use the Force freely & without others controlling them.

Been waiting all day for your take, mate!
All day? All 2 days. This dude can't get videos out on time anymore. This shit came out tuesday
Seeing Qimir head butt a saber with his cortosis alloyed helmet is the coldest thing to ever witness in live action.
As Darth Vader would have say: “Impressive, most impressive.”
I’m so so ready for the twists episodes 6, 7, and 8 will offer!
Agreed
JECKIE 😭😭😭
There were actually a lot of openings for the Jedi to at least hurt qimir in the opening battle
Cortosis was also in the Jedi Outcast game
Exactly! I love that game
24:20 i jus wanna correct ONE thing.. in kenobi we did see vader snap someone’s neck(granted it was with the force not his hands but ya know)
This sith is what kylo ren should've been
Yes! A little more attitude like Qimir, and a little less whining. If PawPaw Vader were to hear him carrying on, he’d disown him, lol. 😂
@@HorusHawks that's the point. Idk why ppl call kylo whiny as an insult when kingpins the same but acclaimed
THIS
@@HorusHawks Are you kidding? Kylo GETS his whining from Anakin. "It's all Obi-Wan's fault! He's jealous! He's holding me back!" Uh hello
That I can definitely agree. I wish they directed Adam Driver to act more that way. He would have been quite something.
7:50 if the branches of the tree above the camera have all grown in the way that they ended up falling, it could explain what we are seeing. The gravity of the upper branches on only the one side would pull the tree over the way we see.
Why does nobody remember Yoda having lunch with Palps on a regular basis. Sith can hide themselves in the Force
I was feeling the lightsaber choreo this episode.
The amount of people I’ve seen playing with their lightsabers after this episode is giving me a Nerdgasam😂❤
Especially seeing yellow and orange bladed ones
@@Chuck_ELbastilla shit!
Manny Jacinto was fantastic. I didn’t know he did most of his stunts. Very impressive. Qimir is intriguing and twisted. I love it!
@4:02 the lines in the dirts reminded me of the battle of Crait in the last jedi, TBH
Kelnacca got the short end of the stick ... is that a "lightsaber cut in half" joke?! lol
kelnacca may not be dead. Just a flesh wound.
That's normal, the way the trees fell when sliced by lightsaber....because the weight of the sliced part of the tree is heavier so fall backwards and not forward
If Qmir is a Sith apprentice he would want to overthrow his master with an secret apprentice.
The way the trees were cut is similar to a logging technique used to control the direction it falls. It's not perfectly executed but it is very cool.
The best episode so far. Long may it continue.
The best episode because it had the least dialogue
get help
Some sabers, at least in later eras, have a lock to keep the blade lit. I am not sure if they would have a lock this early though.
Best episode by far
For sure
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Definitely my favorite, and I hope it is all uphill from here. I do think it was completely intentional that we all suspected Qimir to be the apprentice. There is some one else behind the curtain. I think we’re going to get into some serious Sith lore and history, see a live-action Tenebrous or Plagueis.
Don’t think he turned his lightsaber on and off for the three quick stabs. You can clearly see his arm moving
why wasn't Sol shocked that smiloren said the word sith?
Luke : [clinging to an antennae below Cloud City] Leia... Hear me, Leia...
Princess Leia : [in the Falcon] Luke... We've got to go back.
Lando : What?
Princess Leia : I know where Luke is!
Always happy to see some LOST parallels/influences!
This episode makes me want to replay jedi survivor for the lightsaber combat😂
Sol: Where's Pip?
Mae: Who?
Sol: You're Mae!
*end credits
The last time we see Qimir he is rising up into a trap, the next we see the master he is descending setting a trap
that fluff on your shoulder is killing me lol
The sliced trees have heavier branches on the side toward which they fall, so it makes physical sense that they would fall that way. The second one even falls into the third one pushing it a bit to the side as well. But yes, it was essentially done because it made a cool visual with the red ends on the stumps angled toward the camera.
😂😂 your description of this is the just about the perfect post script of this series, ' it's not possible, and makes no sense, but we will do it because we think it is a bit entertaining ' 😂 It's not.
great vid and episode. random note: saw a vid recently explaining how pretty much all fight choreography where the fighter spreads out or messes with their cape or robe it's to move that shit out of the way bc those outfits are literally the worst option to duel in. like walking with a lit cigarrete in an overcoat on a windy day
He also says he “collects” people and the sith rule of two may not be his vibe and he makes the knights of Ren 😮. Idk I can’t wait for more!
Nah. He's a Sith.
Qimir headbutting a lightsaber is now my favorite move from any lightsaber duel in any series. This episode is definitely a top 5 lightsaber fight
At the beginning of fight. The Jedi on left with blue and yellow sabers may be swinging at Qimir mind projections. Love these videos.
THOSE ARMS
I love how you guys keep using pictures of Battlefront 2 mods for Plaguis and Tenebrus. It's just funny, but tbf, that's the best 4k image of them
Apparently all it takes is a quick haircut to trick a Jedi...
7:50 The tree had more branches pointing towards the back side, making that side heavier
