    Happy 50th birthday 🥳🎉✨ wishing you a magical day. Your dress turned out so well. Love the FOs from the vault and great to see I’m not the only made repeat knitter 🤭 The cumulus tee is going to be so lovely. Your son, it’s a horrible situation and made worse by your recent events but glad to hear all is well. I’m sure your heart got an extra workout too. Nice to have some fun things to look forward to, have a great week and happy celebrating 🥰😘

    Wishing you the happiest of birthdays for your 50th! Your new dress looks gorgeous on you and I'm such a fan of your FOs from the vault thing. The loose boxy style of this week's really suits you. I hope you give the apple green one a chance....it is lovely too....I'll bet you get compliments if you wear it. And, I'm glad your son of OK....what a trigger and scare. I love seeing the photo of your dad near you. Thanks for these podcasts, they (you) are a delightful knitting companion.

    Hope you have a fantastic birthday 🎂. I'm in the UK and for my 50th I took a month of work to go to New Zealand. I spent two weeks with my daughter who was living in Dunedin and toured the South Island and then 2 weeks by myself touring the North Island. It was fab.
    Im planning a trip to Adelaide next March so would love to know of some Australian yarns and dyers I must try.
    Im glad your son is feeling much better now. They're such a worry and what a hard time you are having.
    Loved seeing your dad looking over your shoulder today ❤❤❤

      What a fantastic trip you planned for your 50th. I love New Zealand. I did a lot of hiking there in 1997. It is such a gorgeous country. Can’t wait to go back. I’m not all that up on Australian indie dyers. I like Circus Tonic and Louie and Lola and Never Not Knitting. I’m sure there are many more. I’m hoping to find some more at Bendigo. Thanks for noticing my dad with me. ☺️

    I’m sure this isn’t the popular opinion, but I love seeing people knitting the same garments again and again. You know what you like, and you enjoy making the item enough to do it more than once. I just started knitting this month and have completed a Musselburgh hat after seeing your video on all of the ones you’ve made. My husband snatched it out of my hands as soon as I weaved in the last end! I am the same way with clothing, if I like it I will purchase it in multiple colors because I know it will get a lot of wear. I can see myself doing the same with garments when I get to knitting those as well. Great video as always. I love everything you make. That green top really does make your eyes pop. As soon as you put it up against you, your eyes glowed! I think you should give it another chance in the spring maybe! I think I will join your KAL when my yarn comes in for the Elisabeth Blouse by Petite Knit.

      Thanks so much Jenn for your lovely comments. I am so pleased that you have discovered the joy of knitting and that your husband is enjoying what you are making as well. ;)
      I just had a look at that Elisabeth Blouse - that is gorgeous! Another item to add to the queue. My list will be enormous by the end of this KAL. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

    Happy 50th! Hope your day is amazing and special. Love the Ranunculus on you, the colour is so pretty and I really like the sleeves. Glad your son is ok❤ as my friend always tells me god only gives troubles to those with broad shoulders and I always reply with “that may be so but I don’t want to be a Rugby player! I like the green ranuculus also but I know what you mean about giving it to the Salvos. I had a jumper my mum made me that I didn’t wear and as she is no longer with me the thought of giving it to a stranger! I couldn’t do it…so I gave it to a girlfriend who loves it and wears it all the time so I still get to see it and that makes me happy!

      I like the idea of gifting to someone I know as well. Where it would actually get some wear but I get to see it worn occasionally. 😊

    Happy birthday Tash, hope you have a fabulous day!
    Have you heard of the charity KOGO - Knit One Give One? They give knitted items to people doing it tough in Australia. During the pandemic I took knitting up again after many years and I love knitting baby and children’s jumpers for them. If you decide to not hang on to your jumper perhaps you could look them up.
    I adore the scope of your KAL!!! I think I’ll try a cardigan version of the Ranunculus, once I’ve finished my current WIPS of course, if I can resist casting it on straight away! 🤣
    I love your idea of showing an FO from the vault , your videos are always full of inspiration! Thank you. 😃

      Thanks so much Susie. I had a lovely birthday. It was a beautiful day. I think i will do a big sort of FOs i am not wearing and do my best to find a home for them where they will be worn.
      I am excited to see your cardigan Ranunuculus. I think that would be fabulous!
      Looking forward to seeing what yarn you choose.

    Hi Tash, I am new to your channel, and I am really loving it. The dress is beautiful. I learned to knit from my grandmother as a child but only ever made things like scarfs, etc. I think I will get up the courage to try a garment with the KAL.
    I have been watching your old videos. In one of your past videos, you were talking about the knitting classes you teach and asked for ideas to center a class on German short rows around. How about a triangle scarf? You can use short rows and should be fairly straight forward for participants to finish on their own after the class. Just a thought.
    My heart goes out to you on the loss of your father. Kay

      Hi Kay
      Thank you so much for your lovely comments and for your suggestion on a triangle scarf. That is a great idea. I will have to think about creating a pattern for it. I hope you will give garment knitting a go. It is a lot of fun. Thank you for your kind words about my dad as well. xx

    Hi Tash, Thanks for the great podcast. Your dress looks fabulous!!! Thats a lot of knitting. I think that green top, was the colour way "lettuce" ? Looks so good on you, makes your eyes pop, but the pale blue one I think is too cool for your completion, but, we all see things differently! Im off to the Bendigo sheep and wool show too, Im so excited its my first wool show, I think it will be a lot of fun. Enjoy Sunspun, I think it has to be my favourite wool shop in Melbourne, closely followed by a shop called "little woolie makes". Which is down on the Mornington peninsula in Hastings, It's a bit of a drive, but it's so worth it. I hope your son continues to be ok, that must have been traumatic to experience on top of your recent losses. Oh, also, I love your FO's from the vault segment, It's such a great idea. Have a fabulous birthday On Saturday hopefully it will be the Festival of Tash spead out over a few months:)

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Kazwah. I hope i get to see you in Bendigo. If the family are willing and time permits, I will try and get to Little Woolie Makes. I love a good LYS. Yes, the green top was Lettuce. I am just not a huge fan of the colour itself so i think that is one reason i am not drawn to wearing it. And i love the aqua colour but it isnt the best colour on me. The pink one is probably the best for my skin tone and you cant go wrong with grey. "Festival of Tash" - I love it. I was going to say i hope the family gets on board with that theme. But then even if they dont, I am allowed to do nice things for myself. We dont have to wait for other people to take care of our needs. :)

      Lovely holiday experiences sound much more my thing than a big party where i dont get to talk properly with all the people who are there. I went to Cairns in January this year for a week with the family and my inlaws. Such a gorgeous area. I want to go back. I LOVED Mossman Gorge. Such a beautiful place to cool off. I will definitely be reporting back with the 50th holiday plans. ;)

    Tash, when your husband is in San Diego he can pick up Sandnes Garn from Apricot Yarn & Supply , it’s a fantastic Local Yarn Shop , this is one of the places I would have taken you 😊🧶

      I had to smile when you mentioned the idea of my husband going to an LYS in San Diego just to pick up yarn for me.
      But i could order from there and have it sent to my in-laws in San Jose and he could bring it home for me from their house. That would work. I will check out their online store tomorrow. Thank you for letting me know somewhere local i can get some. :)

    Your relax sweaters are just lovely, I am not a lover of large necks, they just don’t suit me and I am forever tugging at them, I did notice that the last 2 you showed which was the green and pale blue had smaller necks, did you do something different to these to make them smaller? Your ranunculus is gorgeous ❤. I just love your podcast, so inspirational ❤

      Hi Carol, Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I had a look at my ravelry notes and for the ones I made after my grey one, i definitely brought the neckline in so it wasnt as wide. In my video next week, i will try on the other ones and discuss what I did to bring the neckline in and also a bit more about how this pattern compares to Boxy. Hi Tash, Happy Birthday. I love your Ilha dress, looks so nice. I would love to try to knit one. Just wondering if you did any increases as you knit the length or did you just knit straight down to the hem without any increases. You may have mentioned in your previous videos, maybe I missed it. Also how did you finish the hem, did you put a ribbing, was hard to see in the video. Thank you

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Fran. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I will take a good photo of the details of the dress and put it up in my video next week. I increased 4 sts every 11 rows so about every inch and that worked well to give me enough room around the hips. I will put in some finished measurements as well - bust circumference and the circumference it got to at the bottom. With the hem, I did a half twisted rib for two rows and then offset it for the next two rows. I'll show what I mean in the next video. I finished it the night before recording and was so quick to want to wear it, I hadnt even taken photos or made notes of the details. I'll be sure to give all those next week. Thanks so much for asking. :)
