Your spreadsheet is amazing! Thank you... I make socks all the time, but am 'afraid' of sweaters. This will be immensely helpful. Great video

If there is anything I love, it’s a good spreadsheet. This is brilliant. Thanks, I am subscribing. Please consider a superthanks. That spreadsheet took a fair amount of work.

I'm glad you like spreadsheets as much as I do! It does take some work, but it's something I enjoy creating.

this is so helpful! I'm just getting to learn how to knit and casted on the petite knit cloud blouse and I'm now learning the difference between raglan and drop shoulder patterns.

I have the Monday, & was on the fence buying the “No Frills” or Louvre but I think I can sort with the pattern I have. Thank you!

I’ve knit all of the DK weight ones except the october sweater 🙈 The caramel sweater has some shaping in the body, and the rest is knit straight down. Probably have to knit the october sweater as well to complete my collection.

I'm Just struggling to choose between No Frills and Monday 🙈 any suggestion? 😅 is Monday more loose? How is the bottom part?

@@monka8710 In therms of fit I think they are quite similar. I see the monday sweater as like a "rolls royce" no frills. It has a double collar, three raglan stitches and finishes with italian bind off. The rib on the No frills are knit on smaller needles, while the Monday is knit with the same needle size. This is easily adjustet tho.

I'm currently knitting my first "staggered start" raglan and the fit is amazing for me. It's the Soft Structure for Adults sweater by Jennifer Parroccini. I'd probably gravitate towards the October sweater for this very reason!

So helpful!!!! I now know that the October Sweater would be my preference because I like the staggered start. I would have loved a comparison of how the raglan increases are made. I do not care for the kfb increase...

I don't knit anything but socks, so this may not apply. However the increase I use on both sides is YO, then twist and knit in the following row. I have only seen one person mention it for socks.but i have now successfullly used it for 9 pairs of socks. It is good looking, even, and practically fool proof.. as A) you have it on your needle , knit the YO or B) you have to add the YO. I have been looking for a first sweater to make, and it will be a petite knits, so I can't wait to decide and get going.

Thank you for your expertise, it is striking to state how similar these patterns are ! I think it comes from the sewing craft to have popped during pandemy and new sewers needing simple patterns.

I’ve taken to buying the junior version of petite knit patterns as I’m a small person and don’t want to swim in my clothes

I do think she makes such minor changes and charges for each one. I am not a fan of that. I know we all need to earn money but that does seem a little much!

For more experienced knitters, they can adapt to what they like. This will be my first sweater, and I need a tried and tested pattern that fits all my criteria, so her patterns are incredibly helpful for me. I sew and hack all my patterns in the moment, (save money too) now that I have experience, and I assume that will be the same with knitting.

I’m currently knitting the Caramel sweater, and there is a bit of body shaping. I opted out of it though.
