    That's a serious step up from my current Milwaukee m12 ratchet... I know that they have some of those functions in the new right angle impacts but they would be huge in a fast ratchet that size. I can only hope Milwaukee move more that direction with the next model. How long do those tiny batteries last and do they work in other tools? Might be worth looking into, thanks for bringing it to our attention and ignore the haters...

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your input buddy, part of the point of showing this was that it's actually NOT an impact wrench, only power comes only from your arm... so there's very little power needed to drive at less than 1Nm, so am gonna be using it as much as possible to see just how long the battery lasts! And I'll certainly let you know...

  • @fenner-g6088

    Would it undo a nylock once you broke it free, many nut and bolt fixings have a nylock nut on them, if not it's pretty limited use surely ??

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I realised after editing I should have covered that, yes it will spin a nylock, provided all it's forcing against is the nylon ring and not a load of crud, or old threadlock, but that's the same for any nut.

    I use a small battery operated bit-driver for this purpose. It's max torque is 5 Nm on the 10th setting, so I can finish the job with a torque wrench. Time saver and hand saver, I like the idea.

    In days of old, when knights were bold & dressing took for ever,
    to speed the nuts, they took short cuts, when going hell for leather.
    The twirling pace of their speed-brace, got Sir strapped in his can,
    so they ignored his 'buts', trapped his nuts & munched on marzipan.
    But had they lithium batteries, to use back in the day,
    it might have been less effort, to twist the knight away.
    (If Sir Cumference was a bike, he'd have been a Goldwing . . . Y'all : ) x

    What are the little purple/blue things in the box that kind of look like a set of nuts?

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're socket magnets mate, it's a hexagonal plastic ring with 3 magnets fitted in them, they hold themselves in to the socket and when you take or nut or bolt off, they hold it in the socket so it doesn't drop down the engine bay behind the gearbox! A set is supplied with the kit.

    Only thing is the way you did the testing you wouldn't Ratchet it like that, just spin it round with your finger! If you can take a full circle with the ratchet when un-doing a bolt its just as fast. does it say what rpm`s its spinning at on the box ?

    Great vid review Bruv and a great bit of kit if you can justify the cost! I was reading through the comments and can’t believe some of the bollocks people write! The clue is in the title! No one is forced into a chair and held at gun point and forced to watch every video! The attitude of these negative few people is vile. This tool isn’t for everyone including me and I could have stopped watching the second I realised that! However , personally, I still enjoyed it so watched it all! The point is no one forced me and I can choose what I find helpful and/or interesting to watch. No need to slate you for it. I know how much of your time you give up to create these video’s and how much you put into them. Your channel has grown and progressed and in my opinion just gets better and better. Of course you need to make a living! Do these people bitch and moan about an MX rider being sponsored by Red Bull etc? Any of these people that think they can do it better are free to go ahead and do it! Good luck! Let’s remember all the times you have saved countless viewers a fortune on jobs you have taught them and given them the confidence to do themselves! For FREE!!!!

    Get a Ryobi impact gun, it has the progressive trigger and three power levels, you can be as gentle or as aggressive as you need, and of course it has the switch for both tightening and loosening. The Speed Ratchet or similar product are still worth having for the other reason pointed out, but it won't get to my thermostat housing bolts lol.

      I watch RR Buildings on the tube, and Kyle made that point himself this week in his latest video, and a carpenter constructor, making timber frame building, usually on farm land or otherwise miles from mains power.. he has to think ahead and rely on enough back up batteries to last him the day.... but then without batteries, he had to have a noisy generator running all day and power leads all over the site. !!! That is a really interesting bit of kit. I use the Milwaukee impact ratchet a lot and it's brilliant, but the head is still a bit too big to fit in a lot of places and the handle is bulky. This seems to be an ideal middle ground between a hand ratchet and impact. 👍

      Why is that embarrassing? You sit through tv commercials where actors pretend to use products in an attempt to flog them to you without embarrassment. I think it's obvious that there is some sponsorship from Sealey here, but just like the tv you can turn off if you are offended. Personally I like to see different tools and equipment demonstrated so I can make my own mind up as to whether it is worthwhile or a gimmick. And be honest, if it were your TH-cam channel and a company came forward offering you sponsorship would you tell them to take a hike? I might if it were unconnected with my subject matter, but I bet just about every serious weekend warrior car and bike enthusiast and professional mechanics have got at least some Sealey tools in their kit....because they are pretty affordable and good quality.

      Thanks for the jibe mate, (corny salesman!!!), thanks for that! This is just a review video, nothing more, if you check the Playlists we've been doing them for years, nothing new, it's a just a little respectful exposure to a generous company that help support what we do, the rest of the videos are as normal, projects, servicing videos, fabrication and save-you-money tips, business as usual bud.
