I got both regular high speed ratchets last year & they immediately made my OG brushless ones obsolete. Also have the 3/8 RAI that I got for the sole purpose of doing seat bolts. That guy does good on calipers, front engine, pretty much anywhere you need a bit more torque with little room. 3/8 stubby impact barely gets used.
Thank you. I was stuck in decision paralysis. I still have the very very very first gen ratchet, which has been AMAZING, but I want a little more speed, torque, and the extended one makes the most sense.
For tight spaces buy Koken zeal sockets, they are short and thin wall for a decent price. Their shallow sockets look like miniature versions of any socket I have ever used.
I love my m12 ratchets, but when driving fastners, I hate how it tries to jerk my arm. It frequently kicks my hand into brackets and causing cuts and scratches. I prever the m12 impact driver now because it has much better torque control with the trigger. It could also be due to using the older models.
I can see that the older ones used to kick more it seemed like. Still way better than the old air ratchets those things would pin you down sometimes after the bolt would get tight. So you had to remember to have a good area for clearance.
So I actually just picked this tool up a week ago. The 2 amp stubby batteries on it are the way to go. Perfect example at 10:20 time stamp. I actually bought it with a new HO 5.0, but honestly...don't love that battery in that tool. (Edit: Time stamp correction)
I have the extended reach ryobi due to the fact that it has the most torque out of all the other competitors and then the m12 high speed for the smaller stuff best of both worlds
Agree with you on the most part. The impact to me is super helpful especially removing caliper bolts as impact wrenches don’t usually fit in those areas. I have the first generation of the fuel ratchets in both regular and extended. If you are working on top of an engine the regulars are great if you are working down in the engine compartment the extended are better. The extra power of the first gen fuel is very handy even though they are mildly slower and have a larger head than the gen 2 high speed fuel ratchets.
I don’t understand why everyone loves extended. I ALWAYS barely have enough space to fit the regular one into all spaces. Also I have the high torque with 55ft lb instead of high speed. I feel like I made a mistake lol. Since you can use as a ratchet anyways
Would it be better to buy the side wratchet then? I feel like if you really need to bust out an impact then just use a regular one vs “ right angle” would be better correct?

Having already done the job once a few years ago I figured this would make it less of an extreme-anger-inducing pain in the dick. After seeing the 3/8 and 1/4 side by side I regret buying the 3/8.
What one would you recommend for Hydraulic hoses buried in Valve chests in Excavators etc? Im looking to buy a good one for tight spaces and to torque hoses back into place. Thanks
I just don’t get the 1/4” drive unless it is super small nuts or bolts. My mid length 3/8 are shorter than a 1/4 deep. And my 3/8 stubys are shorter than a 1/4 standard. So I actually have more room for tight spaces in the 3/8 drive. Just my opinion. I have the high speed extended, the stuby impact and the right angle all in 3/8”. Then a half inch mid torque for bigger stuff. Really all I need
I can not afford these damn ratchets but I really like the extended one. I am already on the M12 platform so maybe if they go on sale I can pick one up. Thanks for sharing this video man it was pretty cool to see.
The high speed one is good but, no torque for bolts with little rust or residues of locktite on them. The old extended reach is better for overall bolt or nuts. Speed vs torque
Not really. Bad design starts with a bad designed push lever. Looks very flimsy and can get stucked and does not look very stable means can rip off or be damaged quick. And the smsll batteries don't look very confident neither. Also Milwaukee handtools very often are bad quality like pliers are misalined. Can't understand why so many of you guys are on that Milwaukee bandwagon. 7:13
See what I am saying 10:12 I get in a lot of situations like that that why I prefer the torque or speed because sometime you get to into those tight spots hard to break loose by hand. I am hoping they make one with high torque with high speed .
Great demo, thanks! I have a question about the impact-capable tool. Is the head locked while not operating, or in other words, can you apply torque manually or only with the powered ratchets? In other-other words: can I use it as an extension of my "built-in-my-arms torque wrench".
For a smaller channel, how the hell did you get Milwaukee to sed you out these to test? I would love to get some Milwaukee tools to test and make a review video on but I do not have a channel. I love my Insider ratchet and I also have the 3/8 short version of the ratchet. My go to is the Insider for most jobs but when needed I do use the smaller 3/8. I also have the right angle impact gun and it was really not worth the money, I just wanted to have it. Kind of like most of my power tools and hand tools. I just wanted them but never really needed them.
Can't you use a milwaukee right angle drill, use a 3/8 socket adapter, with a 17mm socket, and use it the same as a Milwaukee ratchet? As long as you break a the 17mm bolt loose first, u can use a Milwaukee right angle drill just like it. ???? right?

Yes. I own it. They are called the Milwaukee right angle drill. I had it for 10 years. I use a 3/8 inch socket adapter, use a 17mm socket, and can use it the same way. Obviously it's not super super powerful. So if your working in a hard to reach area on your cars suspension, break the 15mm bolt loose with a ratchet, then you can use your milwaukee like a ratchet. It comes in handy when your installing oil pans, and etc. You don't want to lose your mind, so using a milwaukee drill with the adapters will painlessly remove the 15 bolts.
High speed and extended is great for most. Ideal is extended 1/4 converted to 3/8 for small spaces. The new high speed extended are not that great. They have no balls and feel weak
These are all brushless. Yes, brushless is better. The reason why is that there are no brushes to burn out in the motors run much smoother and are able to deliver more torque and variable speeds
Man why do you turn the big electric wrench by hand under the car? Makes absolutely no sense. Just tighten it up til it stops then keep the fastener in place with it and tighten the nut with the regular wrench in your other hand. I'd use regular wrenches on both ends anyway doing that as it gives you way better feeling to tighten the fastener.
