409 killer!
Here’s the Ultimate 1964 Galaxy!!! 😎🤠👏
Imagine hearing that thing go wide open on your suburban street in 1964 🤣 the cops probably wouldnt have even bothered to chase it. What a treat that was, many thanks guys!!!
Many thanks to you Bret! Keep watching and sharing your comments!
A friend of mine bought one of the 25 automatic cars and I was among the first ones to ride in it. It was bought in Atlanta GA and came without a drive shaft that had to be shipped from Holman-Moody,but he had a drive shaft that would fit so he put it in and we piled in and cruised the hamburger places which was what we did then. I have great memories of going to the drag strip with him.Sadly he is no longer with us but his memories are.
That's an awesome and we're so glad you shared it! We have more coming from this collection coming this fall so keep watching!
Brought a tear to my eye, wonderful memories
Thanks so much!
My father had a 1964 Galaxie 500XL that he inherited from his grandfather when he passed away in 1989. It was the fastback model, 2 door, with a 390 4bbl. His had black leather interior, auto on the steering column with a tilt steering wheel, wire spoke hubcaps with the 3-spoke center, rose-beige paintjob with a black vinyl top, and no A/C (which was always fun in the in the Bay Area during the summer, lol). I lost count how many times I scalded myself on the belt buckles and seat lol. Oh, and smacked my head on that metal speaker on the back seat! 😂
I miss the hell out of that car. Tons of good memories, including many little-league softball games and driving up to see the A's play every weekend. My father sold it in the summer of 1995 before we moved out of state after some asshole pushed it down the street and stripped it apart one night. All we have left of it is one color photo and a VHS tape from softball practice with a brief clip of it in there.
So so sorry you lost that car. Bet it was a beauty with that color combo. Thanks for watching and leaving such a nice memory comment! Keep watching for more fun stuff!
64 is a nice body style but I like the 63 1/2 better especially the rear .but the 63 and 64 galaxie were the best body styles. Dove a 63 1/2 in the 60s and got another one 10 years ago. But just sold it. Enjoyed em.
Geeze Lousie! Gives me goosebumps! Must have to run aviation fuel to take advantage of the compression!
That engine sounds fantastic! I’m telling you when you hear a well running high performance engine that operates flawlessly, it’s like music! Great feature!
Couldn't agree more! It sounds soooo good! As do his others. Thanks Terry!
It never talks here... just kind of mumbles...
i drove a 406 six pac 4 speed to high school in 73 ,, even at only 9 years old it was an old car ,, later had a 428 police inteceptor in one ..
Nice! Thanks for watching and sharing your memories! Keep watching Willie!
WOW WEE unbelievable goodness that is really really nice another mind blowing find gez hold on folks that baby has to be fast
Glad you enjoyed it, Timothy! It was very fast and just wait until you see what else is in John's garage!
I'm going on 72 years my first hot rod when I was 16 thank God my dad didn't know much about hot rods, But I worked in a Ford dealership out of high school While I was still in high school.
I made a deal with a mechanic his wife was having a baby and I bought the car in 1968 are 1969 I can't remember, Baby blue bottom white top, 390 police interceptor.
This guy had hopped it up a little bit and had a headers and a few other things it was wonderful, I finally blew a head gasket and didn't have the money to have it fixed so I sold it.
But I'll never forget it, Never had to have the tires rotated cause the backones were usually burned up⚙️⚙️⚙️🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
There's nothing that can compare to the sound of a solid lifter FE!
Agreed!! Thanks and keep watching!
Whadya need side mirrors for? Everything is going to end up behind you anyway! ;)
LOL! True!
That Galaxie is gorgeous!!
Got to love that Tear Drop hood.... Perfect trunk for drive-in movies. Must say I like the Wimbledon White color..... lol
I'll bet you do! Thanks Mike!!
Now if it only had some blue strips on it............ @@IfThisCarCouldTalk
My buddy had a white 1963 1/2 Galaxy 500 xl, with the 427 and 4 speed, one of the 50 cars Ford made to qualify for NASCAR. Aluminum bumpers, no sound deadner, no radio, small bucket seats. We road all over Philly with that car, street racing every one in 1964 and 1965.
Awesome memories! Did you see John's 63 1/2 feature?
I had an 332 one of the first big blocks, I put a 427 Ford Lemans cam in it . It sounded just like that. Put it in a 1956 fairlane and it would fly.
I'll bet it did! Thanks for watching and sharing your story Ron!
I race a super gas barracuda that I've had 35+ yrs THIS is what I wanted. Im 6'8"
Simply awesome
We completely agree! Did you see his other big Fords? Thanks for watching!
Have you driven a Ford lately?
Why yes I have and it was very nice 👍👍👍👍👍👍
We did too! HAHA! Thanks again!
@@IfThisCarCouldTalk I'm sure there's a picture of it online. But Google have you driven over a Ford lately? It may be Photoshop. You'll enjoy it. Here's a spoiler alert and I'll tell you what the picture is in case you can't find it.
It's one of those giant Rock quarry trucks any pit mine. And yes he is driven over Ford truck. The truck has driven over and it is smashing half practically. I enjoy this episode about the 64 for Galaxy. I really wanted a two-door 64 but they've recently come down in price on the fixer uppers
Dick Walters Ford West DeMoines Iowa had one also 65 Falcon "Iowa Shaker" driven by Hubert Platt.
Cool info! Thanks for watching!
The starter sounded a little like a Plymouth/Chrysler starting up. Beautiful automobile, 1964 Galaxie is one of my favorite cars.
Thanks for watching and the nice comment! Keep it up!
Sounds like a newer modern high torque lightweight permanent magnet starter. The old Autolite starters that had to turn over a hot 13 to 1 compression ratio Ford engine weigh a ton! Good observation!
Sounds like a high torque starter.l would have used the old sounding original for how nice the car is.
John mention that the frame has thiner wall that normal on the leight weight, do you know the difference of thickness with the classic Galaxie?
No idea but maybe John knows - we'll ask so stay tuned. Thanks for watching and commenting!
My comment doesn't answer your question but, a 6 cylinder frame was used on the LTWTs.
What is the numbers on the engine block ? I've got a 64 427 top oiler.
I was told it came out of a lite weight Ford race car.
Another question for John. It would have the same casting numbers as any 427 center oiler low riser. The difference was the cylinder heads, intake manifold and induction system. Thanks for watching and for your comment Jesse!
@@IfThisCarCouldTalk what are those numbers ?
I haven't had a chance to look those up, but all that information should be online. I will send John a message and see if he can answer you on this car. @@jesse75
@@IfThisCarCouldTalk that info is not readily available on line.
@@jesse75 These resources might help. facebook.com/groups/478324655612625 (a page dedicated to the Ford FE engines with over 50k members), There is a Ford FE engine forum www.fordfe.com/427-block-identification-t166490.html , www.enginelabs.com/engine-tech/a-guide-to-ford-v8-engine-block-casting-numbers-1952-1996/ Lots of information available. Hope this helps.
A nice car to be sure. Not quite as fast as a z11 but still very nice.

It's a beautiful museum piece, and that's where it belongs. A Honda Civic turbo can run circles around it.
Comparing apples to oranges there. This was a beast on the drag strip in its day and a beautiful piece of history!! Thanks for watching!
Sadly, that Honda Civic, as nice as it is, will probably see it's last daylight from the inside of a car crushing machine, while this Ford Galaxie will be preserved for what it is.
@@donstanley8021 I agree 100% , butt boostedboiz just ran 8.9 second 1/4 mile in a 4 cylinder Honda. Compared to what was it 13.9 seconds. That's unbelievable. I love the old cars, we all do. I had a galaxy 500 with a 352. Great car, I traded it in for a Toyota Celica GT
Ya, and a Tesla Plaid can do the same to the Honda fart can. So show some respect...

People who would buy a 1964 Ford would be so dumb, you can't expect them to learn how to use use the shift lever and the clutch.
Not really!
Have you ever noticed when you have an old Ford that has original interior in it, some big fat Fk want to flop their big fat ass into the seat to see if they can take out the seams in it. Or some skinny Bit gets in it and wants to set on her feet under her ace tryin to take out the seams too. Had both done to my 1967 Falcon Ca. survivor car and the seams withstood it. so, try harder. When I see how big that old boy was in the pass. seat I just cringed and looked at how the seat was being smashed. DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN. Or you won't be able to say it's all original after you have to have the seat fixed....
That "big fat fk" or "big old boy" you refer to is one of the creators of this channel. He has personally owned, raced and knows more about these big Fords than you will EVER know and is one of THE nicest, kindest guys you would EVER hope to meet. He knows how big he is and is extremely careful when getting into, out of and riding in someone else's car and NEVER "flops his big fat ass" into ANYONE'S car! This comment is disgusting and if you have nothing better to say than something like this, then go be an ass on someone else's channel! Leave any nasty comment like this again and you will be banned and reported. Come on - just be a decent human being. You might find out that it is ok to be kind to a total stranger! The only reason I have not removed this comment is so others may learn from your rotten attitude and I just can NOT let it go. Use your manners!
If the seams come out that easy then need to get better seat covers. Beware of Karma!
