Ya, but I thought you moved down south to avoid the white stuff! That chrome valve cover will getcha home....nope. Home built Blue Bottle exhaust I see.
They are short because they are from the Motor Trend channel. They are teasers to get you to subscribe to the Motor Trend streaming service. I believe that the only full episode on TH-cam is episode 1 with the Mustang.
I have absolutely no idea how you find time to do these " outside your channel" builds. You are an amazing man Derek. Truely outstanding. Billy J.... Australia.
Derek I sure hope you continue filming this project . I remember as youngster when that car came out. Back in the day myself and friends could name and date every new car that was produced. Gosh how I loved those days. They were just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸👍. Artie
My oldest brother was like that, no matter what car it was he knew what it was with details. Sadly he passed away, the car community lost a great one there! He was also the "Clutch Man" for Don Prudhomme "The Snake" from the great Snake vs Mongoose days!!! Wish he was still here to help me set up a small tire no prep car!
Love the Galaxie. One of the best looking full size cars of the 60's...and there were many good looking full size cars back then. Look forward to seeing it run.
Derek we bought a classic Mustang yesterday! 1965, my dream car! We are going to fix her up. I love watching your videos, I am helping get her fixed up and I have learned so much from you! Keep on bringing the thunder!
@@gordonwelcher9598 know kinding you can only see the hole version on motor trend lol.he can't show it on his channel he doesn't have the rights to it.
I feel like it's a waste having Derek do a revival but only showing 20 mins of it. Maybe the intended audience is folks that wouldn't watch VGG but it sure would be nice to have the 20 min version and the "full" version ( not the hours and hours of raw footage obviously so I guess they would need to put in a bit of editing work still )
@@MarkKatzeff-mp1bn I've already watched a couple full episodes. You have to search road worthy rescues on your tv provider like dish or xfinity. They are only putting previews on the TH-cam channel
I love the way you teach the next generation that these old cars are not that scary to bring back to life so they can live on and look cool ... keep on trucking Derrick...😁👍🇦🇺

What a great find I love 60's fords. My parents bought a used 64 galaxy wagon in 65 or 66. I have 3 brothers so it was way better than the falcon sedan that we were in. Later they bought a 68 country squire what a beautiful car, and the 64 became dads pickup. It worked really well because everything in the back was steel. I also built a big straight 6. It was a Chevy 292. I put 10 to 1 pistons, an hp cam, offenhouser intake with a holly 600 and Clifford split manifold headers. In would do high 13's in a 67 short narrow pickup. You can get some assume low end torque out these long stroke engines. This car needs to be built it's beautiful.
My first car was a 1964 Galaxie 500 station wagon with the fake wood and everything. I bought it from a co-worker of my mother's, for $200, in 1975. It was a real sleeper - someone had ordered it with the 352 V-8, 4-barrel carb, dual exhaust. A heavy sled, but it would leap at stoplights when I put my foot in! I had a lot of fun with that car... but only for a year... 17yo me learned a hard lesson that balding tires, heavy rain, and speed don't mix. No one got hurt thankfully, but I did shed a tear for the car.
i had a 1973 duster with a slant 6 a rod went through the block coffee can size hole so i push the rod back in and up and it started up sound like your project always fun watching you
Hi, Derek, It's been a long time since I've been on your site. I hope you and your whole family had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I've spent a lot of time in Michigan, (Detroit {ugh}, Grayling {yeah} and some in the good old UP {especially great for snowmobiling} and you've picked the best time of the year for that. God Bless and stay safe (and warm).⛄
Excellent video Derek :) also crew also that super fix up that nice car with better motor & transmission and driveshaft to hopefully all electrical too!
I know that you new it was a Custom, not a Galaxie, but it brings a nice memory-my Dad always bought the Custom-wen I asked him why he didn't buy the nicer Galaxie, he always said "The chrome and extra options were a waste of money"-thanks Derek!
Been an auto tech for over 30 years and installed more clutches than I can remember. When he asked, "did that just happen, after everything lined up and the transmission just slipped right in it happy place, that was not scripted. It rarely happens that way. I can probably count on both hands the number of times that happened for me.
Awesome car. My 1st (high school) car was a 68 XL500, Wimbledon white, BB, AC, PB, red interior. (I still own) Been looking for another one for years. Sadly I’ve never found one. This is an awesome Hotrod.

its from his tv show you probably wont get the whole episode on youtube @@Kamphausen
Hate how these episodes are so short. Always leaves me wanting more!
Yeah. That's the point. They want you to pony up for their premium service. Honestly though it's pretty cheap, and there's lots of good content.
Totally agree. SMH

Go watch Vice Grip Garage! Tons of this stuff in long form.

I hope we see more of this build. I'm not a Ford guy but, those 64/65 Galaxie's are an exception. C'mon Derek, don't tease us 😎
I agree, my buddy's mom use to have a '64 Galaxie, with the 390ci engine, and boy it sounded nice!
MOSES SANDALS, that's a fantastic looking 6er.
A beautiful body on this coupe. All these older cars need to be back on the road. Moving history. Cheers from Australia.
Really sweet built Ford 6 with dual fours?! That ‘64 Custom 500 is gonna rock and roll!
Loved the paint and clean up. Nice change to the channel. That car deserved the effort.

Love the overalls that match the engine block paint. Brilliant. Mike in Oz
