Point #1: Antibiotics (Rifaximin) for bloating/distention
Point #2: Fasting (intermittent) for clearing gut pathogens by waves.
Point # 3: Gut reset by healthy eating

Yep... Intermittent fasting certainly helps... No need for Rifaxamin at all... it's a hoax

@@vasaviarun7332 I lowered my carb intake and increased protein and fiber substantially. Fiber and protein would keep you satiated for long. Replaced one of my meal with oat meal shake( soaked oats, one banana, almonds, coffee powder, elaichi (no milk). Most importantly i complete my dinner by 7pm daily. Worked wonders for me.

    Hi Dr Pal,
Initially, thanks heaps for educating us regarding GI system. I nerve thought that GI system is so important for overall health. I learnt a lot through your channel.
Recently, there is huge trend of prolonged fasting to reduce inflammation. People are going without food for 5 to 10 days.
Also, in our Indian culture, there is a great importance of prolonged fasting during religious celebrations.
Yes there are major complications involved with it like developing gallstones, ketoacidosis, but results are also very beneficial.
It would be much appreciated, if you can make video on this topic.

On a non vegeterian diet, I was always constipated. I had sentinel piles and even a fissue. No doctor told me to change my diet. I became vegetarian, and it got better, but I still didn't evacuate daily. I now have wheat bran, psyllium, bean sprouts, and prunes at least once a day. My dinner is all salad vegetables, with seeds like sunflower, melon, and pumpkin. I am on a very low carbohydrate diet and get my protein from dairy, lactose free milk, and eggs. I have some almonds for a snack as they have fiber, too. I now have no problem in evacuating daily. Yes, I still get pebbles stools, and this could be because I need to have more water. But no more piles.

Dr. Pal thank you so much for all the effort you have taken in explaining the importance of good health and good gut. This video was an eye opener for me in so many ways. I would like to know more about the elemental diet. Also I was told I have idiopathic bowel and can you explain more about please? Without laxatives I don’t have a regular bowel movement. I really wish someday I will also have a normal life with easy evacuation and feel light when we wake up instead of feeling heavy.
