Part of the fun of this channel is seeing how they dealt with things back in the day and how it lets you get work done today. That hoist is amazing.

If I recall, part of the haul included another block that looked in better shape. Fellows, this is one rabbit (squirrel?) hole worth going down - to see this old gal back on the road would be a series I would follow with GUSTO! Plus, the shop name/logo done the right way would look AWESOME on this rig!!! EXCELSIOR!!!

Up until about 1980 you could still get remanufactured short block Model A & T engines from the old old J.C. Whitney's that was on Archer Ave. in Chicago guaranteed free from cracks, welds and brazes. That was quite the place to visit when I was a kid getting parts to rebuild my '63 Galaxy XL.

The old armstrong barn cleaner we had when I was a whippersnapper used the same type of rail. It would hold several hundred pounds of natural fertilizer.

Ford Motor Company when building the Model T reused the wooden packing crates as floor boards, waste not want not saves money right, therefore the end product could be cheaper, the Model T,s were build to a budget so they were affordable to everyone!!
Just carefully ( it is almost 100 years old ) disassemble repair where necessary clean up the parts and reassemble into a running driving vehicle again!! 👍👍

    Hi Fellas,
I know that this Model A motor is a boat anchor now but, if you guys are making a show to "show how it's done", why not consider demonstrating how to re sleeve a motor? As a kid I had a neighbor who owned and fully restored a 1920 Mercer Runabout. It was in as pitiful a shape as the Model A you presently have when he bought it for $25 dollars but since this car was such a rare beast he decided to restore it from the ground up. It took him 4 years to complete. He built and assembled it in his cellar, then when it was finished he hired a backhoe to scrape dirt away from the side wall of his cellar, punched a hole in the foundational cement blocks around the original exterior descending steps and winched the car out.

Your shop is very user friendly, and the roadster is cool. It's an education for me to watch you work on all the old cars, especially the A's and T's. I heard my Dad and Uncles talk about mechanical brakes but I had never worked on any. It will be nice to see how the roadster pickup comes together. I always enjoy your video's. Cheers

A unique look at a unique auto.-Hopefully some parts will bring another to life again. I would have removed the Rad first. I would hate to be the cause of any further damage. Parts are Parts. Somebody did some real fine "re-work" years ago-and here Jim uses a Hack saw. Very cool guys! Thanks for the show. Rich
