    You have all the bits and pieces to build a VERY cool shop truck / parts hopper. That rig deserves a better fate than yard art or chopped parts at a swap meet. What an incredible grab, fellas! Nothing elaborate - just a straightforward, efficient build that gets this baby rolling. Squirrel sold separately.

    This takes me back to 1992 when I bought my 1927 Chevy 1/4 ton flat deck at a garage sale in Wetaskiwin, purchase price was a hefty $150.00. I bought a radiator and shell at the Red Deer swap meet. My plans were to put a Chevette diesel in it but you know how plans go. I sold it for a 200% profit 2 years later.

    Farmers were great for never throwing anything away and making do with what they had. I've seen several of these conglomerations over the years. A lot of times a four door sedan would get it in the middle and then turned into a cab for a pickup or flat bed truck to use on the farm.

  • @CarterAutoRestyling
    @CarterAutoRestyling 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Cool find! Somebody spent some time cobbling that together back in the day haha. Based on the bodyline on the 1/4 they hacked up a roadster to make that cab. Somewhere in a tree line or buried at a farm dump there's the back half of a roadster.

    Necessity is the mother of invention. The owner(s) of this vehicle didn't go down to their local Ford store and order a new truck when they needed one. They made it from what they had and what they could scrounge up; infinitely more resourceful than many who came after them. Glad you kept this out of the scrap yard if for nothing else than documenting how it was made and what it was made from. Had a flashback to National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation" when one of you screamed "SQUIRREL!!!" as it made its Strong's Garage debut and flashed out of the camera frame. Chevy Chase has nothing on you guys.

    Bullwinkle may be still hiding under that seat, and you have a squirrel tail for the antenna, like they did back in the day. But there’s a pick up somewhere that would gladly exchange boxes with you for one that is more appropriate for the condition of your truck!
