My vote on the windshield would be to lean it back a little. Keep going I love watching the progress.

I think the windshield posts back at a slight angle will look best.

Yes, me too and Iwas never and still am not a car person however like to watch people engineer and build out of things lying around. There are a lot of Russian and Armenians that build there own farm tractors and equipment out of old cars and other stuff. Very crude looking but the stuff works. Don't understand a word they say but again love watching them build. These are the rural folks that live meager life styles growing and raising there food for the year.

Your one of the most talented fabricator welders I have ever seen. You take stuff that I would have sold for scrap & turn it into some nice & very unusual builds. Amazing. Thanks for showing your work on you/tube.

Thanks Jonathan for sharing. I like the fact when you see something that needs done, you do it. There is something in your fabrication ethic that doesn’t allow you to simply “make do”. While you may say you aren’t going to worry about body lines and other irregularities that little voice inside you tells you to do it right. 👍👍

Enjoy watching your fabricating skills getting the door to look right... using that radius cut out of a piece of conduit to match the body line. Very satisfying. Nana sitting on the rear tire... best hot-rod shop mascot ever! She deserves those treats! Thanks for the channel. Stay safe.

I watch a lot of car shows and TH-cam stuff. This is my favorite. No fake deadlines. No drama. No working commercials into the video. Just great creativity. I vote tilt the windshield back. It will obviously make the truck go much faster. And, by the way, if this is your idea of not getting much done, I want to see a video of when you get more done than you expect. Great job. Love the cat.

I know from watching you for years now. That you are a humble hard working man. Your word is your bond. I like to think that I am the same way. I never screwed anyone on a trade or deal of any kind. I believe that you are an artist. A good one. I bet you never think of it that way. But men like you are fading from our world. You prove that nothing is disposable. And everything can have a new life. This truck is a perfect example of your persistent personality.

Go ahead, go overboard. If you didn't care how it was going to look when you were done, you'd probably be done already. But you want it to be right. There is 1 thing, though - trying to tell folks not to send anything isn't working. 🙂 I think they can't help themselves, and want to show their appreciation for making these shutdown days a little less monotonous...I know I appreciate it. Thanks! All the best to you and yours.

Do the vertical lines from back to front lend well to an angled windshield? Angled might look out of place if it doesn't jive with anything, just a thought. Great work JW, as a Canuck it joys me to see you get excited over a bag of new pucks, heh heh.

  • @rwstillwater

I finally subscribed. Love what you do and how you do it. On the bodies I've made into roadsters I "thinned" the doors so they don't look like closed car doors with roll up window provisions. Since you are being picky on this build it's something to consider.

I have debated wasting your time with this post but decided WTH...
I am 68yo and grew up with my mother telling me my father, whom I never knew, was an apparently super mechanic, I'm talking in the mid to late 30's early 40's, and a body man. She used to stress my father's expertise was in lead work. I never really understood the significance of what she was talking about until I watched you work. You are an artist...I have never seen anyone do the quality work you do. Mechanically or with body work....I watch every video you put out...Also...I am a cat guy...Love your kitty kitty...I had a dog-cat like that once too...

Way cool, the stuff you do and the way you do it. I enjoy how your projects seem to have a life of their own. Whatever your rough plans are when you start, events might come into play which force an evolution of those plans. It's pretty much how most people's lives unfold, but your videos put the tentative side of it right out in front. There are several other tubers doing this same sort of thing, but watching you do it is more fun. Stay after it, man.

Darn it. I missed a part. Jonathan can you start over? LOL. I looked pretty hard at this hot rod the other day. You and Rat Rod Bob showed me what to look for. Frame suspension steering n body fit. car was a already been a roadster but needed every thing reworked. It did have a A-frame front end. The Welds are what I looked at the hardest. My conclusion on this 34 chevy. Grind n Re-Weld every weld.
Thanks for your keen advice. Sir.
