    I cannot begin to express how the front counter space, as well as the garage itself, reflects a passion and love that has few peers. DIY, recycled and repurposed materials, and TONS of elbow grease made your shop an awesome showcase of your region and bygone days. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you both get many decades of joy from your build.

    Outstanding job preserving history!!!! My husband and I are restoring an 1850s building in our downtown for a radio museum. We are finding many treasures and clues to the history. We are using as much on site as we can and also using salvage items. It's a crazy labor of love. Cheers!

    You're doing your local area a great favour by preserving and presenting so much which is period anyway but with such a strong local element. (No pun intended) I love the small items that you've collected like the garage giveaways for customers - and those 'phone numbers for them. Nobody'd have wanted a telephone number pay check in those days!!

    The Garage/shop looks very nice. You can tell a lot of hours has gone into the restoration of the building. It also appears that you have the components to make a very sweet 30's hot rod, complete with flathead V8 and quick change rear end. I would enjoy seeing a nice 30's rod get built. I enjoy your channel.

    I really appreciate all the work you have put into preserving the antique feel of your garage, a real gem. One thing you might consider is moving that awesome calendar away from the sunlight coming through the window, those colours will begin to fade in no time at all, especially the reds, it would be a shame to lose it's brand new-ness.

  • @johnburch6927

    Incredible space. Having worked more than a few years in dealers, and working in some older stores, I am very much a dealer history junkie. Thank you for all the hours you invested, it is obviously very interesting to a lot of people. Wishing you both well.

  • @michaelmullen8373
    @michaelmullen8373 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What a wonderful museum you have! Congrats. FYI, Your beautiful 1925 calendar should be hung away from natural light. Most commercial printers do not use light safe inks for printing. I am a graphic designer who has worked with commercial printers for many years and have seen many posters ruined by hanging them where they are exposed to sunlight (UV rays) and they all have faded. I compared several of them to samples from the same print run that have been stored in flat files away from sunlight and the difference is very obvious only when you have them side by side. I hope you can find a spot to hang it away from windows or doors that allow natural light in. One alternative is to frame it with UV resistant glass (most frame shops can supply you with the glass or can frame it for you in a way that will protect it from UV light and dirt and grime that collects in shops). Good luck.

    The phone is connected to the past! Just great! You should spend about 1 minute each episode calling someone who worked in the building in the past and try and explain something from the present to them. Like cruise control or smart phones or inflation even. Maybe give them some tips on what cars to buy and hold onto. The possibilities are endless. We would only hear your side of the conversation though of course. Haha.

    The Four wheel brakes signs were from the 20's when a lot of cars still had rear brakes only (and model T's ) so if you followed a flashy car with 4 wheel brakes they may stop better than you so give them space. 😁

    Showroom area looks great and I love how you have so much period pieces there like stepping back in time. There was a restaurant in Waterloo Ont that was like that. It was like stepping in a place from the 40's or 50's. Sadly the family sold it and it did not last long with the new owner and it closed.

    What a fun idea!! I sure love having a look around and hearing the stories. I hope ppll are able to make donations to your building project. Im sure there are tons of stuff ppl have sitting around gathering dust that would love to see it being displayed and cherrished again. The overhead trolley system you have in the shop made me think the blding was at one time a place for meat cutting? Regardless its a treat to see. Keep up the good work on your museum!! I love it!!
