This video is straight-up fire! You're spitting some real knowledge, and I'm all for it. You're a real scholar, and you're doing a great job of making complex concepts accessible to the masses. It's clear that you've got a deep understanding of the subject matter, and you're able to communicate it in a clear and concise way. You're not afraid to express yourself authentically. You're a role model people everywhere, and I'm glad to see you using your platform to educate and empower others. It was so good, I had to leave a review. I'm not one of those fake ass bots, I'm a real person, and I'm telling you, this video is the real deal.
You know that I am not a great fan of Rolex. To me, they were and have always been watches worn by pimps, members of any kind of mafia and other low-life. Also "perpetual" just means "automatic" when it comes to their watches, which is a very cheap trick. All of their watches are rather ugly and boring when it comes to innovation or complexity, as there is none. Still, this movement is nice and beautifully executed. What is great, is that more and more owners of Rolex watches turn to independent watch makers like you to have their watches serviced. Sending your Rolex to Rolex is an act of total madness: extremely expensive and a total rip-off when it comes to rare parts that Rolex replaces and keeps for themselves (while charging you exorbitant prices for their "cheap" replacements). Someone on TH-cam once likened it to having winter tires mounted on your car and the garage keeping your perfect rims, summer tires while charging you for all the unnecessary extras: an absolute disaster. Not that this watch is rare in any kind of sense, but you never know. Love the parts in this video where you sped up and your voice sounds really weird: 👍👌👏❤!
Yes Rolex it is a big debate. It is what it is. For sure they play a lot on marketing and image. If you remove all this bullshit all around the rolex image they are actually nice sport watch. Very very very robust and the quality is nice. Everything fall in place very nicely, not too much play or wear in the parts. But yes I agree the image and the price that goes with it is not great. As for the service with Rolex I agree but it is the same with other commun brands but less talked about because their watches have less value. They are great to make new watches and probably service recent watches but vintage is very different.
Hello I love your vids. I have a 16014. My quick date is a little bit jumpy. It changes well on the pm to am, but when I do it manually around 19 to 26 it is messy. Any advice
@@eightyed try not too changed time between 22pm and 5am. The jump of the quick set date is more difficult than on the day change jump. It is possible that your date spring is lacking some lubrification against the date disk teeth
You make everything look so easy, you are a true professional. At times I think I should try this hobby, but after I look through the back window and see how small the wheels, screws jewels etc. I think it is best for me to watch and enjoy your great work. Perfect camera work!
Sir, your videos keep improving! I cannot tell if you’re using a microscope or a larger camera Lense, but your work is so easy to exactly what you’re working on and talking about. Great job.
Great job on the restoration, lots of sound artifacts on the video though. It sounds like areas where you've half-removed speech, but a quiet, speeded up remnant has survived.
Great videos ! The tritium plots look very "white" ! Almost like luminova ones whereas the dial says T Swiss Made T. That's a bit weird. No patina at all for a watch of this age ?
Lovely job! What ETA movement is this? Do Tudor mark their movements with the ETA movement number? I’m thinking of buying one which might be a spares & Repair watch so I’d like to check if parts are available. Ta!
Hii keep up the good job good video 👌 what do you need for the blow dust en vacuüm set up can you make a video of this I would like the buy one but don’t know how the set up looks like Thank you 😊

I’m not a Rolex fan, but these movements are finished very nicely! Well done with this, figuring out the issue. Did you epilame the auto works as well?
just a question please, Is it worth in 2024 to buy a Rolex date just model 16014 made in year 1978 equipped with the 3035 movement? Its 36mm diameter, steel/white Gold, acrylic glass & Jubilee bracelet for a selling price is $5000? Or 1978 is very old & the 3035 movement is not good? Appreciate your advice. Thank you
I'm in France but I like to watch the english videos too!! Would be interesting to know a bit about you and your professional background...! thank you!
It is so soothing seeing you repair a watch.
Thank you

Fantastic job on saving that watch. I don't work on watches but for some reason I like watching them be fixed and restored
Glad you like them!

Rolex are great watches nice watches to wear. I like rolex
Yes they are!
Yes Perfect. Strange that the hack was damaged. Great work. Keep well from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thanks Bruce. It was a shame for the final.
Fantastic video! Great work. I have a 16014, so it’s cool to see a detailed view of the movement. The calibre 3035 has been great in my experience
Thank you so much

I use a software to improve the microphone sound. Normally it works well but I guess some issues appeared this time. Don’t know why

I am not sure how old it is I did not look at it. The caliber was very clean as well so I guess the watch was not used that much and very well sealed.
Thanks for your reply :) @@FrenchWatchCollector
Love the video sir, you make it look easy and I know it isn't

5:00 i love the "strange screw" noise just after 🤣
5:50 again 😂
13:53 the "guilty" 🤠
HAHAHAH I use a software to improve the microphone sound and I guess it had a few issues😅
Im always humbled by Rolex mouvments.
How can the hack brake, strange
To be fare I don't know. I did not find the missing piss as well
Would you recommend some resources on watch repairing for beginners?

This is a Rolex where you put the comment on so it is not an ETA
@@FrenchWatchCollector oh, sorry!
Great job as always. As soon as you took the balance assembly out I said "broken hack" since you could see how far out it was. lol
Yes after when I did the video I saw it as well. I never had a broken hack before

I had an issue with the software that improve the microphone sound. Will have a check next time
Just curious, how much was the new part from Rolex? (or did you acquire from a donor movement you already owned)
No it is a new part. It was around 18€ I think

Yes I epilame the reversing wheel as per Rolex recommend
