    Having owned a brand new F150 and new Ram 1500 the last few years, this is a tough call. I love them both. Surprisingly the thing I missed the most going from the Ram to the f150 was the hefty V8 exhaust note. Both ride well, but the Ram has the edge with the air ride. Much smoother in my opinion. All in all, I believe I'd choose the Ram (even though i'm currently driving a 2020 F150 now). :)

      Powertrain? I'll take a v8 anytime over a v6 with turbos. Just ask a Ford technician and they'll tell you. Not to mention the 8 speed transmission is smooth as butter vs the 10 speed Ford. Too much gear hunting. I would not get the Ford bc of the power train.
      I do like the interior of the Ford a little better though, and I own a 2020 RAM Rebel. If it was me I'd get the Ford with the 5.0 coyote v8. Too bad the only option is the stupid 10 speed transmission. Have not heard good things about that transmission.

    Having owned a 2011, 2013, 2015 and a 2018 FORD F150 Platinum, I thought I would try a 2021 Dodge Limited. I drove it for a week and although a nice truck there are many little tech things, power tailgate, massage seats , sound system, etc. on the F150 I missed. I have ordered a fully loaded 2021 FORD F150 Platinum with a POWER BOOST Hybrid due in March 21, 2021! It had a MSRP of $77,150, the dealer did work with me a bit on pricing.

    I get the moaning about the cost of these things, but I have been driving BMW's for the last 10 years and most recently moved to a 21 Ram Limited. The Ram cost as much as my last BMW, but the Ram also makes the BMW look like a has-been. So, these luxury trucks aren't really meat to be worksite vehicles. I see them more like a really nice office on wheels, or a decked out luxury car I can occasionally haul lumber with. So, if you want to spend $35k on a new truck, they make those. But if you want a top-end luxury truck, they make those too.

    • @SliderFury1
      @SliderFury1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, someone said it! The workhorse trims didn't go away, and in fact have only gotten better/tougher/stronger, and are an even better value for the money than they used to be. OEMs have just expanded the trim offerings to include people that didn't know they wanted a truck but, after researching and driving one, they realize they can have what is essentially a luxury vehicle that can ALSO tow and haul!
      Other than perhaps fuel economy, there's no real reason anymore to go with an equivalent luxury sedan (or even SUV) that's no more luxurious or any cheaper than these top trim trucks and can't also move furniture or tow a 20+ foot camper. That's where I'm at.

The Ram is still a nicer interior with more options. For 2021, Ram has added a digital rear-view mirror option and heads-up display. I do wish RAM would take some small changes from the Ford. I was a Ford guy all my life, but actually did something completely different June 2020 and bought the RAM 1500 Laramie Longhorn, which is basically the same truck as the Limited, but is a more of a Western themed interior and lighter interior seating than the Limited. I wasn’t happy at the time that Ford King Ranch really hadn’t offered the same luxury as the RAM and yet was still more expensive. Again as with the Longhorn being basically similar to the Limited, the King Ranch being similar to the Ford Limited, Ford surely stepped up in 2021, but the RAM still has a better looking interior than the Ford, just being honest by a former Ford F-250 and F-150 owner. That fifth generation RAM 1500 just really stands out for me and, so far it’s been flat out the best pickup I’ve ever owned. Hands down.

But for the record again, in 2013 I owned a Ram 1500 and traded it within a year because the ride sucked and it hurt my back ie leaf springs, purchased a smaller truck as a beater for everyday running until 2015 when I found what I needed and fit my comfort and that was and still is my 2010 Ford F150 that now has 136,000 miles on it. I can ride in it for hours no issues with my back unlike just 2 hours in the at the time brand new ram that hurt my back.
      Have zero interest in purchasing any new vehicle especially s ram when I have ridden in a 2018 Raptor several times and the comfort in that was superior! So go Ford! Ford hasn’t really changed their looks by much still looks like any old Ford from the 2000s lol

    The rams interior stitching is clean as heck!! Both are very nice trucks, But I’d go with the F150.

    Ram all the way!! I’ve owned one since ‘03 and will continue to stay with them. Solid trucks with great looks!!

    I like having buttons and knobs instead of having to go through the screen for everything. Ive had two rams but is have to go with the Ford on this one. But I'd prefer the rams center console since it has more room as the shift knob is on the dash.

    Even though I don’t have license to drive, but if I did I’ll pick Ford

    I recently purchased a 2020 Ram 1500 Limited. The Ford is nice though. I think it’s a matter of preference.

    I’ll take the best selling pick up... but with the 3.5l PowerBoost hybrid! #FORD

    I’ve always been a Ram guy and still am, but this is actually the first F-150 I like that’s not a Raptor
    The Ram Limited is still the better option in my opinion 👍🏼

    So wish Dodge would provide massaging seats. If anyone knows if they do though please let me know. I would probably go with a Dodge if the did. Also like the shifter on the Fords. Also power adjusting steering wheels is also a plus for a Ford. Also wish Ford would offer a V 8 on there Limited. Both are super nice and tough on deciding which one to go with. Good post and I like the way you talk fast and don't waste our time. Love your posts.

      They don’t as I just bought a fully loaded limited longhorn but I’d bet it isn’t too far behind

    I just purchased a 2020 Ram limited. Traded in a 2019 F150.
    I can’t believe the ride quality in the Ram, I dreaded driving more than an hour in the Ford.

    Best interior and infotainment system by far, the smoothest ride while towing and much better looks. I'm going with the RAM.
    After driving all three... my perfect truck...
    GM -6.2L V8 or 3L Duramax engine, electronic mirror, heads up display and tailgate.
    RAM -interior, infotainment system, styling, air suspension.
    FORD -10spd transmission, generator, and massaging seats. 👌

      I feel similarly. Love the Silverado/Sierra exterior styling and tailgate design, RAM Interior and ride quality, and Ford powertrains and workhorse-leaning options and features. Put all that together and you have the ultimate truck (that would probably cost over $100k with discounts lol).

    The graphics on the 12 inch screen in the RAM are so superior that it makes the screen in the F-150 look like an Etch a sketch

    Ford definitely improved their interior but I think ram still has a more luxury interior

    I'll take the ford but damn they still need to step there game up on back seat like vented back seats and the console like ram also need air suspension and duel exhaust plus for 70k they should both come with 24" rims and tires!

    A little side note these trucks are like having a payment on a small house or condo they’ve gotten so crazy expensive. I bought my 2018 2500 Longhorn with Cummins for the price they now charge for 1500 limited...just nuts

    Both are nice. But I like the fact the Ford has the aluminum alloy body, which means no body rust.

    • @Funky4me21
      @Funky4me21 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aluminum corrodes (rusts different white color) unless Ford took the extra steps to alodine and prime.. then it will be a longer lasting metal.. not sure about all the electronics in any new vehicle these days.. that is what will drain your wallets..
