In my experience, recapping optical drives and any associated driver board(s) tend to resolve read issues. GameCube, Saturn, Dreamcast etc can be fixed in this way..no "pot adjustment" required. It's also worked a few times for me on OG Xbox.
Kinda got lost in thought on why a smoker would need an xbox when there is only water around, thankfully you clarified that it wasn't THAT kind of smoker.....
Who use the disc drive on a chipped XBOX? 11:00 You don't know if it was the laser adjustment or the lens cleaning that make the drive working. You should always try one thing at the time to be sure what fixes your issue.
Philips drives are the ones that give me the most issues. I have 3 which give code 11 errors. I still havent done a recap on them yet. But I ruled out bad bios chips by using the chip from a known good drive. Sending me crazy

Thank you! I commented a few videos ago asking you to do the Philips drives. I have 6 of them that are all bad.
You're welcome

It sounds like it’s the laser motor is broken or not working properly
Can't wait for that recap tutorial!
Coming soon!
I've had more luck with the Philips drives as opposed to the Thompson and Samsung/Toshiba ones.
I 2nd that. I always get excited when I get an xbox with a Phillips drive.
I actually managed to get a pot tweak to work and i also recapped the board and the laser still died the next day. Just a heads up, it wont last.
I have had this happen very often with the Samsung drives.

I don't think the lens was dirty enough to prevent the games from working.
0:44 Those poor pliers. :(
Hola amigo! - ayer compré el mismo reloj - Samsung Watch 4 classic 😅
Is each resistance value unique to each lazer? Are there known working values on the internet
People have said 550 ohms is a good spot. I tend to lower in increments from where it was if it wasn't already at 550 for these Philips drives.

I hardly see Philips drives. Which revision Philips are you seeing with the error 11's?
@@RetroRenegadeRepairs Unfortunately both revisions! haha. Feelsbadman
