Dreamcast is still on my top of my list (with a NeoGeo that would never happend unless i win the lottery) and i curious what your going to do next with this system :)
i have a question unrelated to the video. I have an OG Xbox 1.4. It has no audio at all, i suspect it is the MPCX, as i have replaced all capacitors on the board (even the smd ones) and the problem persists. The board is kinda warped, but i have worked o a 1.6 that was like that and it works fine. What i think it's happening is that the MCPX could have a pin not m making contact. I'll try reflowing it. If you have countered a Xbox with this problem, i would like some insight. Thank you. Also, i love all your videos, and i always leave a like. It's a shame your videos don't have as many likes as visualizations. In my opinion they are worth it. You explain very well and have a calm yet sometimes mischievous attitude while working that i like. Also, your jokes, while "bad" makes me chuckle. Have a great day!
Friend! - You need a copper braid with flux impregnation, otherwise it is clear from the video that you are suffering with a regular braid without flux impregnation.
Is it safe to remove the 12v regulator from the original Dreamcast power supply? Apparently if there is no GDROM drive and you have an ODE, that 12v regulator will emit more heat due to it not being used. Causing unnecessary heat inside the console. I just removed mine, but I am concerned about a potential safety hazard.
You do the same thing I do, make up goofy versions of words. I never realized how annoying it was until I saw someone else do it. Now I'll never do that again.
When you are holding in those probes on the discharged, are you sure it can't get through your gloves? Learn the new ones the right things and call it what is should be called. It is not a U on a capacitor, it is a micro sign µ. It is better to say "micro F" than "UF" as you do. And get a real side cutter. The one you are using is worthless ...
I’ve managed to get several Dreamcast drives that weren’t reading discs back to functioning perfectly by doing a recap on the drive
Nice maintenance for the Dreamcast, thanks for showing in detail the polarity of the capacitors.
Is recapping the original power supply better than replacing it with an adapter for an external switching power supply?

I would love to send you my ps3 fat 60gb model, ylod failure that has been thru home teardown and heat gun reflowed to see if you save it

No audio. Given what you've stated, I'd probably take a look at the MCPX, and then to the video encoder.

Amazingly enough, I was testing another board and had forgotten I wasn't wearing gloves and I did shock myself. So the gloves do help.
whats wrong with his cutters?
+1 For things that only matter when your talking to the parts guy
