So you're basically saying as "showrunner" you wouldn't change a thing from the source material. So no pesky writers or anything and the audience gets to know episode by episode exactly what's going to happen ahead of time? Can you say predictably boring? The one thing that the show did Right, was including the comics major scenes but having rearranged the characters and story arcs so that as a fan of the comics you knew what Could be ahead but because the writers/showrunner juggled things you can never be sure who is going to get what particular death or injury or even when a particular scene from the comic will be adapted for the show. It was constant edge of your seat viewing. And even though i am a fan of the comics if I saw a live rendition of everything from the comics i probably wouldn't like it very much because most of the characters from the comic aren't particularly likeable. Not to mention the extreme over the top swearing done in the comic. It was irritating enough to read the "dialog " let alone sit through an hour at a time be cussed at mercilessly.
the cast is the only reason im still invested in amcs universe because they are beyond amazing, but kirkmans complete story deserves to be seen. whether it's animated and it looks similar to adlers lovely art or a new live action series. AMC really fumbled the franchise in 2018 but the story deserves a second chance to be told the wAy it was intended
i will say even though some of the story decisions were terrible the actors and production team never failed to execute what they were given to work with
I personally would make it an animated series in an art style similar to the comics and while I would maybe switch around some character deaths or add some show exclusive characters I wouldn't go over board with it like AMC did. Also yeah killing off Carl was dumb as fuck but if you had to kill Carl off what you do is make him one of the twelve pike victims of the Whisperers
I agree with you about Better Call Saul being better than Breaking Bad. For me, I couldn’t get past Breaking Bad’s third season. But Better Call Saul omg. Anyways, that’s a comment for another video haha. As of HBO remaking TWD, I can definitely see them or even another company doing it (since Warner is kinda going downhill right now…). I can see them bringing Chandler Riggs as a sheriff cameo or something when he’s in his 40’s lol. It’d be a huge mistake for them not to follow the source material again, especially since it is already done. But, I highly doubt it would have the same huge impact as it’s first live action run. With so many entertainment right now (and wayyy more 20 years the line), it makes you wonder if it would just drown itself after the first two seasons or something.
I would just restart everything if I was HBO , fresh new cast. Shorter seasons , longer episodes, less commercials. Do the one thing needs to do is get rid of Gimple, I would cast a Tim Miller type as the position of Gimple , sure he ruined terminator but that wasn’t all on him. Deadpool 1 isn’t Deadpool 1 without him, Get a tax write off on the all of the spin offs including the Rick show. Then I would sit on the property for 10 years and then being with where all stories should start the beginning. I want Patrick Warburton as Negan. I want twd as a brand if it was under someone else to cast villains at b+ actors because then it should us a reason to hate them more. I’d want Rhea sheehorn as Alpha, Michel Shannon as govenor and beta can stay the same. But that’s the only casting of the entire franchise I’d keep the same but obviously handle that arch better. I think u admit ur at a loss with Kirkman and stop trying to have him involved. he clearly wants to move on from it I think universal has the most potential if amc is ever bought out. After all they got the theme park at universal which could be the start of beginning of dark universe again the right way.
Rick is the posse comitatus. Nothing higher than the county. Daryl He is the young adult Carl. Carl was to cutesy. He would have made a great mini Shane. Long hair, eye patch, and hat? Ridiculous. Short hair. Baseball Cap. Shotgun. Cool Carl. Rick physical feats. Was he on PCPs.? Actors. They played characters far younger. Daryl 16 the boy. Carol should have been 24. So after ten years they are 50 and doing D&D stunts and feats. Optional. A redo. * Carol unsavory. Really? Repeats. * Carl lives as a mini Shane. * Shane and Andrea depart. * Otis might be valiantly overwhelmed but Shane was not a coward. No assassins in the lawful good party please. Overall I think the producers are scarred loser D&D characters. Comic Book with no bait and switch. * And little guys are tossed to the zombies .
I’m looking forward to seeing the walking dead done right. None of this AMC character bullshit. No Daryls or Carols. I wanna see Andrea being badass like she was in the source material and a one handed Rick. Cast an actors with dwarfism to play Carl and Sofia and follow the blueprint that is the graphic novels and deal with adult themes like Game of Thrones did and the walking dead source material. Michonne needs to get the Sansa, Rick needs to get the Jaime Lannister and Lori needs to get the red wedding treatment to capture the true walking dead.
Nope. No thanks. I saw what HBO did with The Last of Us. I'll take a cable friendly Walking Dead over that sissified woke crap that HBO peddled for us for 9 episodes. They had absolute gold in story, dialogue, and character build to work with. But they said, "no.....we'll do it our way instead." I know the Walking Dead eventually went woke and dried up too, but we at least got about 5 or 6 good seasons first.
@@tomjohnson8410 Woke basically means to have awareness to issues of racial and sexual discrimination, as well as awareness to social justice. Yeah, its a real made up thing, and its retarded. As far as the writers go, yes I also am aware that the social justice warrior of them all, Neil Druckmann, is the writer for the games and the series. That doesn't make everything good and right with the world. Here's something else that maybe you aren't considering. In the original absolute brilliant masterpiece of a game, there were additional writers that actually carried weight and kept Neil well in check. When the garbage DLC and sequel game came around, Neil had brought on an insane horribly woke activist broad who notoriosly ruined game franchises during that time. The other grounded writers who worked with Neil on the first game, had moved on to other projects basically leaving Neil completely unchecked. And what we have gotten since then is Neil's personal warped identity politics manifested in story form. Its hot garbage and a crime against the original game. He of course, carried this crap right into the wretched HBO series that I won't even acknowledge. So you see, I don't just say things. I have purpose and grounding behind my points. Its truth. You may not like it because you don't agree, but you can't deny it......well you can, but you'd be wrong, and you'd know it.
@@tomjohnson8410What is Wokeness? The short answer: identity-based Marxism The oppressors in this brand of Marxism are whites, straight people, men, and Christians Woke ideology sees oppression from these groups in every aspect of Western life: free markets, law and order, home ownership, the family- you name it. The Utopian goal of Wokeness is a mirror image of what was attempted in Mao's China and Stalin's USSR- equal outcomes for all, regardless of merit, skills, or effort. They call it "equity".
@@tomjohnson8410 First off.....wouldn't that be enough? And on that note, the original game did a phenominal job of portraying a gay character in Bill. Not so much Ellie, but definetly with Bill. The game created a gay character that was human first and gay as a single trait and not the complete identity. I would think any rational gay person would respect this representation. The show completely shit the bed with Bill. Aside of that, lets see; One way race swaps with Maria and Sarah (Always black for white, but never the other way. And neither added anything to the show) They made Joel and Tommy complete pushover soy boys.(Can't have white guys playing an assertive lead role, can we?) They added that weird female militia leader that wasn't in any of the games. She was shoehorned into a role that she would never exist as in any universe other than SJW Neil Druckmann's world.( Just a cheap addition to fabricate unearned female empowerment) Sam was rewritten as deaf. (Not a problem if he was originally written that way in the game, but it added nothing to the story in the series. Just more pandering) Tommy and Maria's community was absolutely a nod to communism. (I imagine this is just another idiotic concept that Neil champions) Not to mention, the show was boring as hell. This is all that I can recall on a whim, as I haven't and won't be seeing the show since its original airing. I'm going to take a short leap and assume you are of the liberal mind set. I assume this as I had to itemize the woke infractions this series committed. I'm also assuming that you're ok with everything the show changed and represented. The fact is that it was a bad show that survived on the lore of the original game. Without that endorsement, we wouldn't be talking about this right now. It was a massive betrayal of its source material and it alienated a good chunk of its fanbase. Now I've offered a comment and two replies that fully and coherently explain my point. If you wish to continue talking, I ask that you rise to my level and come to the table with some content as I have. If you're going to continue to challenge me to explain myself while you make generalizations about me in turn for my explanations, then we can be finished here. I've done my diligence on this topic with you. Its your turn to bring something to the table.
The best option would be a full comic book adaptation except: 1. Don't make Rick a one-armed invalid 2. Don't make Carl a one-eyed invalid 3. Leave Andrea alive and don't put her under old Dale
here is what i would do: 1. i'd make the story have some elements from both the comics and tv show 2. i'll do away with some useless characters and put a spotlight on the more important ones. too many characters makes stories hard to follow and too complex in my opinion. 3. it would be truly rated TV-MA. the orginal Walking Dead is gory, but they don't so that many bad words, which is unrealistic and inconsistent since Merle said a racial slur in the first season and Daryl started saying bad words later on. the only bad word they ever seem to use is "ass", "shit", and "damn." 4. Carl would survive till the very end. 5. The seasons would be shorter, though the episodes would be long. Kind of like Game of Thrones. 6. Some of the villains, like Negan, would be less over-the-top and more grounded. 7. Characters would act more consistent. 8. Character roles would be more in line with their character. I don't like characters like Daryl taking up leadership positions. Daryl is a good soldier. He's not a good leader like Rick, Abraham, Shane. comic Tyreese, and Glenn. 9. When a character is done, they will either die or just sort of go on to do their own thing. Abraham dying was good because his character was finished and his death made sense. Same with TV Hershel, TV Shane, and even TV Andrea's death (though more could've been done with her character). I think Carol should've been sidelined and I think Daryl should've died. I think the reboot should have more balls with what they do with their characters. 10. I would make some plotlines unique and introduce unique ideas while also maintaining plotlines faithful to the original source. 11. I would make the zombie virus still a mysterious thing. I'd even make it unclear if it's an Earth-made virus due to how weird it functions. I find it stupid how the only way you turn is from a bite or scratch. Apparently you wont get sick if you rub zombie blood all over your skin (funny because most characters have scratches here and there on their faces), or if you wear their skin. My new rules would make it so that there is a risk that getting bit, scratched, or contaminated with zombie blood or anything zombie related would cause you to get sick and die, likely from the virus mutating. 12. I'd make the zombies scarier by change #11 but I'd also make it so that fresh zombies make sounds similar to the Runners from The Last of Us. I'd keep their season 1 intelligence, and I'd make them run or quickly shuffle like the infected in TLOU. though as a zombie rots, they'd get dumber, make raspier noises, have a decrease in apatite, and they'd walk and would be called Walkers at that point. I feel like calling them runners when they are fresh would be a bit too close to TLOU and would present copyright issues, despite the term being more common than people think in terms of fiction. 13. Zombies would be somewhat a bit more vampiric. Now you may be wondering what i mean by this. And it's simple: i think they should be "undead" but not completely. I think their stomach acid and digestive organs should half-way function for a while rather than being prone to exploding if they over eat. I mean, of course, that is possible. But that would mean full, exploded zombies who can hardly even walk should be a more common sight than it is in the show. though as they rot, their brains, and other organs become more and more disintegrated, obviously making their organs non-functional. 14. Finally, I'd make the story shorter and get rid of stupid shit. You aren't going to see a rip-off of Ulysses from Fallout New Vegas with a giant pet TIGER (which is the most dangerous land predator in the world, aside from the polar bear). There isn't going to be a whisperer arc. The story will end much sooner, likely with the death of Rick and/or Negan at the end of All Out War, with Carl or Glenn being the one who kills Negan. The whisperers are stupid. The Commonwealth is stupid. The Kingdom is stupid. Eventually, all the zombies will rot away and people would evolve. And I think this will be the main difference between the comics and the reboot. the reboot would demonstrate humanities ability to adapt and how temporary pain and suffering is in the grand scheme of things. Whereas the comics seem to imply - at the very end - that the zombies took over everything, as you watch the stature of Rick Grimes being obscured by a gargantuan horde of walkers. Not only is this a bit too grim for an already grim story, it's also stupid. Because, if you haven't noticed already, even in colder climates, the zombies ROT. if they rot, they will eventually disappear. and 99% of anyone who lives long enough to see the nigh-extinction of walkers would know to to prevent themselves, friends, and foes alike from turning into walkers.

If I was the show runner for the HBO The Walking Dead I would change a lot of things that the show did have it more to the comics carls alive rick and Andrea are together Ezekiel and Michonne are also together rick is still around Rosita and Ezekiel die on the pikes some changes can be there but not a lot Sophia’s alive Andrea stays alive to I think you get my point lori and Judith die Jesus would stay alive Carl would have his comic storyline with Lydia Dante would be more of a character it would be better for rick I would have him die the same way by getting shot by Sebastian but also what I have in mind Rick would die in season 9 episode 5 and have Carl take on the main character role and leadership role because like you said it is rick and carls story’s the cursing I would definitely keep in to The ending would be the same as the comic ending with old man Carl
Season 8 A: All out war part One
Season 8 B: All put war part two
Season 9 A: a new beginning/ whisperers into screams
Season 9 B: life and death
Season 10 A: No turning back/ call to arms
Season 10 B: A certain Doom
Season 11 A: lines we cross/ a new world order
Season 11 B: the rotten core/ Rest in peace
I think Jensen Ackles would be a good Rick Grimes. Love the Commonwealth arc in the comics. Rick’s death is fantastic.
I would like if they did a comics accurate show thats beat for beat and includes the graphic plots in the comics the show never did that includes the characters from telltales walking dead into the narrative as a spin off side story cause
Clementine lee and kenny meets Glenn Herchel Whisperers and Paul aka Jesus and have it animated like spawn and invincible
I happen to like Judith though.
That’s 100% what I’m saying. I wouldn’t change a thing. I want to bring the actual story from the comics to screen.
the cast is the only reason im still invested in amcs universe because they are beyond amazing, but kirkmans complete story deserves to be seen. whether it's animated and it looks similar to adlers lovely art or a new live action series.
I think I would prefer a tv adaptation of the waking dead telltale games.
Glenn Lives🙏
Comic and show death were the exact same, that's staying
I think u admit ur at a loss with Kirkman and stop trying to have him involved. he clearly wants to move on from it
I think universal has the most potential if amc is ever bought out. After all they got the theme park at universal which could be the start of beginning of dark universe again the right way.
Shouldn't let HBO do it they turned it down so have no right to jump on the bandwagon
I feel like they want to do it now cuz of how much hype there is around the walking dead right now
Maybe the characters will finaly be alowed to swear
Wait, when tf did TWD switch to digital?
This changed in the Season 10B extended episodes and all of season 11
From 10x17 till the end of the series
@@jerrystakes brah, glad I dropped the show at the cave cliffhanger
Rick is the posse comitatus. Nothing higher than the county.
Daryl He is the young adult Carl. Carl was to cutesy. He would have made a great mini Shane. Long hair, eye patch, and hat? Ridiculous. Short hair. Baseball Cap. Shotgun. Cool Carl.
Rick physical feats. Was he on PCPs.?
Actors. They played characters far younger. Daryl 16 the boy. Carol should have been 24. So after ten years they are 50 and doing D&D stunts and feats.
Optional. A redo.
* Carol unsavory. Really? Repeats.
* Carl lives as a mini Shane.
* Shane and Andrea depart.
* Otis might be valiantly overwhelmed but Shane was not a coward. No assassins in the lawful good party please.
Overall I think the producers are scarred loser D&D characters.
Comic Book with no bait and switch.
* And little guys are tossed to the zombies .
carl got trash anyway i didnt mind him being gone i dont know what happended to chandler riggs character after season 4
Michonne needs to get the Sansa, Rick needs to get the Jaime Lannister and Lori needs to get the red wedding treatment to capture the true walking dead.
would you do a clementine spin off?
It would certainly feel like a natural, good story to tell, but it wouldn’t be a top priority
Why are you calling merle merel😂
I am very against a walking dead reboot, what we need is to see new characters on another part of the world. Nothing can top amc’s twd
Nope. No thanks.
I saw what HBO did with The Last of Us.
I'll take a cable friendly Walking Dead over that sissified woke crap that HBO peddled for us for 9 episodes.
They had absolute gold in story, dialogue, and character build to work with. But they said, "no.....we'll do it our way instead."
I know the Walking Dead eventually went woke and dried up too, but we at least got about 5 or 6 good seasons first.
Unfortunately modern tv across the board has been buying into woke. Honestly it seems inevitable unless told through an independent network.
The short answer: identity-based Marxism
The oppressors in this brand of Marxism are whites, straight people, men, and Christians
Woke ideology sees oppression from these groups in every aspect of Western life: free markets, law and order, home ownership, the family- you name it.
Aside of that, lets see;
One way race swaps with Maria and Sarah
(Always black for white, but never the other way. And neither added anything to the show)
They made Joel and Tommy complete pushover soy boys.(Can't have white guys playing an assertive lead role, can we?)
They added that weird female militia leader that wasn't in any of the games. She was shoehorned into a role that she would never exist as in any universe other than SJW Neil Druckmann's world.( Just a cheap addition to fabricate unearned female empowerment)
Sam was rewritten as deaf. (Not a problem if he was originally written that way in the game, but it added nothing to the story in the series. Just more pandering)
Tommy and Maria's community was absolutely a nod to communism. (I imagine this is just another idiotic concept that Neil champions)
Not to mention, the show was boring as hell.
The best option would be a full comic book adaptation except:
1. Don't make Rick a one-armed invalid
2. Don't make Carl a one-eyed invalid
3. Leave Andrea alive and don't put her under old Dale
They’re simply disabled, cmon man. Not even profoundly.
I’m sorry, I will never accept another actor playing Rick
here is what i would do:
1. i'd make the story have some elements from both the comics and tv show
2. i'll do away with some useless characters and put a spotlight on the more important ones. too many characters makes stories hard to follow and too complex in my opinion.
3. it would be truly rated TV-MA. the orginal Walking Dead is gory, but they don't so that many bad words, which is unrealistic and inconsistent since Merle said a racial slur in the first season and Daryl started saying bad words later on. the only bad word they ever seem to use is "ass", "shit", and "damn."
Your making great points tonight jerry but like me , I would write this all out . then do a three part video, u can take the idea just give me a shout out. I’ve never done it but I’ve wanted too. U should Get an editor to add photo shop imagery of what details u would want. the third part being on the week of the season finale of the Rick show. It would be sooooooo good. Please Jerry ❤
Their best bet is doing the comic adaptation
