In this video, I will be discussing precisely why I don't care about The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Daryl Dixon Spin Off, and the Rick and Michone Spin Off.

The Carl decision was absolutely ridiculous. I wanted to chuck my remote at the tv wants Carl showed his bite mark.
You have to change "wants" to "once"
I feel like Daryls arc was basically him caring about other people more...that was it, once he broke away from Merles shadow there really wasn’t anywhere to take him, characters like Rick Maggie Carol had moments where they questioned their morality and doubted if what they’re doing is right, Daryl never seemed to have that, overall he just felt nearly one dimensional for a good portion of the show
The Abraham Lincoln part made me chuckle but I love the vids man keep it up!
The only ‘spinoff’ I want to see involving Daryl, is his and Merle’s upbringing, and life in general. It’s always seemed so interesting to me with all the stuff we know from the show, I’d like to see it all on tv.

I think Daryl's arc was partially cut. He went from. An angry, bitter, abusive, thief to a decent person after the Sophia mess. Then losing his brother, them getting Glenn killed.
Technically he went from outspoken and brash to a stoic. Which, isn't the best imo. He talked way more in the beginning which was way more entertaining.
At the this point they’re just milking the cow.
They've been doing that ever since Fear TWD started and in the main show they stretched out All Out War to be a 2 1/2 season story arc when it should have been an awesome banger of a 1 season storyline
The Richonne series is the one I'm looking forward to the most. I don't care about them reuniting with the other characters. I want them to just get their children from Zeke and then bounce. The series is billed as the continued love story of Rick and Michonne finding their way back to each other, so I doubt there will be a ton of CRM. It will be so exciting to see the king and queen together again.

My biggest fear for the Daryl spinoff is that they're just going to gloss over how he gets to Europe. Like, it'll just take the first five minutes of the first episode. Or worse, they'll just start the show with him already there and they'll barely mention it. Him travelling across THE OCEAN in the apocalypse would be one of the biggest feats we've seen in this universe since the story began. Is it a sailboat?? Is it an engine-powered boat? Who would have the resources to run an engine-powered boat? Just that part, alone, should take a couple of episodes. But, I'm fully expecting to be disappointed.
My fear is that they completely ignore daryls past on TWD and he doesn't talk about it or bring it up in hardly any capacity similar to when morgan went to fear

I think if they are gonna do this many spin-offs they might as well just keep making the main show.
i'm most excited for the Rick and Michonne show, since that's really the only one we need to wrap up their unfinished stories. the Maggie/Negan one is unnecessary and it's being done just for the fan service of seeing these two work together after their history. the Daryl one is for views because Daryl has been AMC's biggest cash cow since season 4/5 of the main show where he became solidified as a fan favorite, even over Rick.
their stories were done. they didn't need to be stretched out. Maggie and Negan came to a conclusion with Maggie saying she would never forgive him but she didn't want to hate him anymore, and Negan's story came full circle with seeing his pregnant wife on her knees about to die just like Maggie was in season 6/7, understanding what Maggie went through, and apologizing to her. granted, in the finale we should've seen more Negan at the end and seen whether or not Annie had the baby and was still alive, but their stories were still finished. Daryl's too, i think Daryl's story was the most finished out of everyone's really. his arc of being who he was in season 1 to now being a caring, loving leader that has stepped up as a father figure to Judith and RJ. he needs to stay with them with their parents gone. it doesn't make sense for him to leave them behind to do whatever he's doing. sure, he knows Rick is alive now, but wouldn't he have enough trust in Michonne to get the job done herself? their kids were his responsibility by association and he just leaves them after promising Judith he wouldn't. Daryl's is definitely the most pointless spin-off.

The only thing to anticipate in the spinoffs is a reunion of Rick/Michonne to our main group characters. There is no tension/threat/drama Rick is, and will be in dangerous situations and circumstances, he's not going to die because a reunion was teased at the end of the main show. Daryl will face danger looking for Rick, he will not die as it ruins/ends the spinoff, Maggie/negan teaming up is unbelievable, negan may die to sacrifice himself to save Maggie/Hershel Jr but there's no other real development that story between those two can tell. The walking dead universe without the looming threat of death at any moment is not an interesting genre, announcement of spinoffs solidified that those characters would live thru the main show, and teasing a reunion solidified that any danger they're in is meaningless because eventually they'll get their reunion.
I wish I could just see an ending to all this with everybody reuniting and they change the world but I can only dream. They screwed all this shit up so badly and this is my favorite show I grew up on watching since I was 16 when it came out so it makes me mad and sad at the same time.
Dude just found your channel and our opinions on film and T.V are crazy similar to my own so I’m subscribing for sure. My passion for T.V started with the TWD (started reading the comics when issue 91 came out) back in 2011 and being a fan from the early days till 2017(season 7 mid season was the last live episode I watched) your points on the downfall of the series are so on point.
I’d definitely like to see a video on World Beyond, the show was filled with miss opportunities!
I do admire that the show stuck to its guns, being confirmed to be a limited, short show and telling all its story in 20 episodes. But trying to tell the story of the Civid Republic mixed with teen drama…not great. I think it was even said before it came out that AMC was trying to appeal to a younger audience with it and clearly it didn’t work 💀 Also didn’t help that while the other mains were somewhat interesting (Silas, Elton, Huck, Felix), the two lead girls just…weren’t. Hope was decent at times, but Iris was not good 😅
they honestly should've done a season 12 focusing on rick reuniting with everyone and THAT could've ended it.

AMC owning the series is what made it suffer. Mediocre writing and low budget locations is what bothered me. Had this series came out during this time when streaming is taking over, I think it would've been on another level. I'm burned out by this franchise so the interest for the spin-offs isn't there. Hey but im happy for the die hard fans.👏

My wife and I bailed after Carl. I just finished watching Fear and then finished S11 of TWD last night, this time without my wife, she wasnt interested lol. Im planning to watch the spinoffs but i cant say that im that excited. Im most excited to start S8 of Fear even though there was so much garbage in that show.

TWD sucked at the end. After Carl died, it went down hill. Scott Gimple is a jerk. Frank Darabont should come back and work on one of those spin offs. The comics are way better and so is the ending. That’s the way it should’ve ended.

The worst part about the spin offs (at least the first four) is that they’re conceptually amazing ideas that should’ve been able to expand the universe in a natural way.
A prequel going back to the beginning.
A sequel showing the next generation.
An anthology series showing shorter, self contained storylines.
And, don’t forget, Talking Dead is technically a spin off show as well.
The other three spin offs… don’t have this advantage.
The Maggie and Negan show feels redundant, as I feel like their character arcs ended when Maggie explained to Negan why she can’t forgive him.
The Daryl idea is stupid. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that.
And Rick should’ve died back in Season 9. I have no interest in following that thread anymore.

AMC did drop the ball on TWD, killing off all the good characters and cutting the budget so they can make more money 💰.
I definitely would like to see AMC give over the TWD rights to another company (imagine HBO having Last of Us and Walking Dead), or at the very least just take a BREAK. I love the TWD franchise too, but they really need to stop pumping out mediocre content before they seriously turn even more people off. I’m really hoping these spinoffs end up being surprise hits.
I love the comics of The Walking Dead hell I would love to make my own adaptation. I would obviously do some new things, but mostly stay more like a adaptation instead like the show using the characters, but doing not much with the comic book stories, making it feel less like an adaptation I think the last of us is a perfect way to do an adaptation for something make the thing mostly what it was originally about but add a few little new things that can add a lot to the show I’m not watching the series anymore because it feels like a cash grab

Daryl was a lil racist in the beginning and preferred to be alone but the fact he grew from a lone wolf to a right hand alpha in the pack that is dope 💯 but I don’t think he need a tv show he shoulda just linked up with michonne and dip to get rick
I would love to see a 2 season prequel show for the Governor. The books are incredible and would love to see a TV show version of it cannon to the main show.

To be honest I have no faith in the spinoffs , Daryl in France 🤦🏾♂️ Michonne and Rick spinoff omg I feel like it is gonna be a dumpster fire waiting to happen . Tbh dead city seems to have the most potential. Fear was a great spinoff till season 4 to now they sank that ship fast . They should just put all their resources together to make one good show vs 3 or 4 shows that are probably gonna mediocre at best. I agree amc should not be involved in the walking dead ip .

I think breaking bad is a template for other shows. Tell the story, let it play out, finish it naturally. Don’t milk it!! TWD producers could have kept it intense, fast paced, and brutal. Let the show conclude, and then go from there. I didn’t watch ftwd, but just learned about that strange season 4 reboot to incorporate Morgan. That’s very strange
Never liked Michonne and Ricks relationship. Never saw it coming and when it did I lost interest in both characters. I always thought that they had a “I got yours/ you got my back” friendship. Daryl is a side character like Legolas. Not a fan of hearing grunts throughout a spin-off. Negan and Maggie only show I’ll watch (they have chemistry)

TWD universe/franchise has become more about it being a cash cow for AMC and lining their pockets, rather than what makes sense for the story and giving the fans what they want. The course the franchise has taken in the last 5 is disastrous. Season 7 and 8 of TWD were bad but there was a glimmer of hope with season 9, but then Andrew Lincoln left, which was fine and understandable even if it weakened the overall story, but we were promised movies, and of course we all thought that meant in a year or two. But then a year went by, two years went by... then covid happened and whatever progress had been made on writing the scripts and filming prep was halted. Then we got 2 seasons of World Beyond, which was supposed to set up the Rick movies and dive deeper into the CRM, but instead was boring a boring cringey terribly written teen drama. Fear TWD became absolute garbage. TWD was... good, okay, but just felt like it was spinning its wheels now aside from a few characters and storylines, mostly Negan and his redemption arc. Then the bonus episodes happened, then they suddenly had to end the show, so we got an extended season with 3 incoherent parts and an unsatisfying conclusion. The Daryl and Carol spinoff was announced way too early, so early in fact that Melissa changed her mind about it and now it's just the Daryl spinoff, Maggie and Negan are getting theirs, which removed all tension and risk of the main characters dying, and FINALLY we got the announcement that instead of getting a trilogy of movies we're getting a limited series of Rick and Michonne! Daryl's going to Paris even though Rick is still in America, Maggie and Negan are going to New York to go through the same repetitive frenemies drama, and everything that's been set up and hinted with the CRM over the franchise in the last 5 years probably won't even be answered because the Richonne spinoff will mostly focus on their love story?! And then we get the completely failed experiment of Tales of TWD. No one knows WTF they're doing, it's all a mess. It's just like with the MCU, lacklustre quantity over quality, no logic or cohesion, and all these inexperienced writers who have probably never even seen TWD creating whatever nonsensical garbage they come up with and slap TWD on the label to satiate the mindless zombies that still eat it up. It's so fucking sad what's happened to this franchise that started off as a dark survival character drama adapted from a comic book. The AMC execs have eyes bigger than their belly, or rather pockets bigger than their brains!
I don't even need to see why. They keep on dragging it out.... they should've kept it one show. TWD lost everything unique when they kept on adding spin offs. Imagine if I took Dragonball Z or let's say Peaky Blinders for that matter and kept on adding spin-offs off of it. No one's going to care. People just want to focus on one show with characters they're used to. The Walking Dead was about a sheriff that woke up in a hospital to a zombie apocalypse and the story was about him, his son, and the people he was surviving with along with his experiences in trying to create a new life in rebuilding the world despite the nightmare it's turned into. Everything should stay simplistic.
I liked World Beyond and Tales more than most people. World Beyond had a banger of a final season IMO. So I have more faith than you that they'll be good. As long as they are not Fear season 4-8 bad and hopefully as great as some earlier seasons they could be cool.

I will watch all 3 of the new 6 episode shows for sure, I'm too invested to find out what happens to the universe and the CRM and shit.
DeadCity will be another failure, because Scott Gimple loves to reset characters, in Dead City Negan will go back to his old ways and Maggie will try to kill him, doesn't this look like S7? Gimple will ignore all character development from the end of TWD, that has no sense, sucks really, Gimple is a terrible writer and his lack of vision only destroys the characters.

The only story I care about is Rick and Michonne's story. But I also don't care about the CRM. I happen to think that the show is not going to be about the CRM, though. And that pisses some fans off. I have seen all these videos where people are pissed that the Rick and Michonne spin off is only 6 episodes of TV. They want the CRM explained. They want to see everyone come together to fight the CRM. They expected something epic. Not me. They see Rick as a superhero. I just see him for the fragile man he is that just wants to be reunited with his family. I don't want to learn the inner workings of the CRM. And I personally think if the show tries to go in depth on that stuff, it will fall apart. No. I just want to learn about how Rick has attempted to get back to his family. I want to see Rick reunite with Michonne. And I want to have Rick finally meet up with his children. And to be honest, though it will destroy me, I will be cool with Rick dying as well after meeting them because that would add some finality to his story line. then there will be no need to harass Andrew Lincoln to come back.
Dead City's premise is THIN. Daryl Dixon's show...Daryl is a great side character but he barely speaks. As a lead...he doesn't fit the trope. Just because people LIKE Daryl doesn't mean he should be the lead. Sometimes, we like characters BECAUSE they are side characters.

I won't watch it. garbage dialog and too many filler is his motto and I refuse to waste my time on any more of it. he ruined walking dead and I tried Fear the walking dead, it started out Great and brought me back to the original walking dead days. I felt the magic again. Then the show started to feel like the walking dead again and lo and behold I find out that gimp is involved and I was like OF COURSE
