I own a 2023 Hatch, bought it brand-new. It's the BEST car I've EVER owned! I didn't know it was possible to love a car this much. It's impossible not to smile every time I see it or drive it. Two of my buddies have 3 Hatch's too (2017 and 2019), and they're crazy about them as well. Mazda is killing it! They're extremely reliable too, none of us have ever had a single issue besides general maintenance, with one of my friends having 130,000 miles on his 2017. We love our Mazda's!

I have a 2018 hatch touring and have only ever needed tp do oil changes and basic tire rotation 😂 it is the most reliable car I've ever owned and most comfortable. Top quality and I'd rather have this than pay for some luxury brand that charges premium prices.

The screen was not designed and not meant to be a touchscreen in the first place, so it was placed far ahead for better viewing and the mazda control buttons works better than touch. It’s the people who complained and they make it touch screen. Touching the screen requires eyes off the road to see where you touch so it’s unsafe.

Couldn’t agree more. The “touchscreen” is cognitively more distracting. (The fact that you also have to raise your arm UP and WAY OUT to touch a single tiny spot on the screen in a moving, jittery vehicle is laughable. Mazda’s Controller Knob makes so much more sense.)
Some people now define their entire existence - both day night - by continually interacting with their iPhone, seemingly at least once every 2 or 3 minutes. Yes, they are iPhone-addicted. Sadly, those are the folks who complain about the lack of a “proper touchscreen”. Show me someone who complains about Mazda’s touchscreen philosophy and I’ll show you a smartphone addict. I, for one, applaud Mazda’s resistance to the world’s “smartphone/touchscreen” takeover.

@@Saboda53 100%. My car has a touch screen that is mid dash and a distraction to use, requiring me to look completely away from the road. I have capable controls on the steering wheel I don't even need to look at for most functions. Touch screen input should be disabled when the car is in motion. I think some cars do that already or partially at least.

Totally I agree, similar story for myself in terms of switch’s. Unfortunately my wife took the car to Costco without me knowing to change the oil in my white 2019 and they destroyed my engine causing them to fit the bill for a completely new engine. Idiot left the oil pump thing inside the engine & started it is what I was told. So instead Mazda gave me option to keep the car with the new engine but I instead switched to 2021 Turbo which is what I initially was going for. What a freaking disaster & it was during Covid so the inconvenience was just nuts. For as big a monopoly Costco had selling all goods during the Pandemic they treated a long time customer like myself like garbage. Mazda did what they could but Costco gave just the barebones in terms of compensation.
That said , that 3 Turbo was a beauty especially for the money.

My wife also had several Mazdas (CX-7 GX FWD, CX-5 GX FWD, CX3 GS AWD and Mazda3 GS). So, I just purchased a 2024 Mazda3 Sport GT 6 spd manual (35000$ CAN) after trying the 2023 Nissan Sentra SR manual (lower power and finish), 2023 Civic Hatchback SPORT TOURING Manual (more expensive for price and insurance). I miss my 2021 3 Sport AWD Turbo. I let it go , that car handled so well in the winter and a fun car to drive in the summer , plenty of power , Same Polymetal Grey with Red Leather interior. Only mods were a Corksport exhaust and CA Intake. Sometimes you think the grass is greener on the other side. They’re aren’t many around my city , I had a white with Black leather interior one in 2019 w/o the Turbo and the white is the colour to go with, shows off the beautiful body lines and curves the best as well as the black front grill, tinted windows and wheels.

I am actually going against the grain here 😅- As an owner of a 2016 CX-9 and a 2016 Mazda 3 (both are previous gen), I am disappointed by this. The interior and amenities of this MY/trim is nice......for 2016. The omission of a power passenger seat, the lack of a digital dashboard, and zero rear seat charging ports/vents is head-scratching. I know Mazda's mantra is all about driver engagement and stirring emotion (at a competitive price) but these things *should* be standard in a top trim with an asking price of $38k. One of the worst (if not the worst) part of this is the 6-speed automatic. It was prehistoric back in 2016 and it is almost unforgiveable today. The only allowable 6-speed transmission should be of the gated variety.
It's hard to voice that opinion as I am very partial to Mazda. I love their continued focus on driving dynamics and established reliability but it's disappointing to see old tech and a disconnect on what should be baseline amenities (specifically for $38k top trim). The CX-90 is fantastic but some of that goodies needs to trickle down asap.

seems like being a top trim they could offer more features, maybe they do im not sure but, in this car, no remote start? no keyless unlock? also that screen is disapointing still. i get they're being minimalist and it's nice but it should be more towards the driver like he said, and maybe taller as well. It just seeems that competitors are giving you much more appealing screens while this one still seems like a landscape orientation phone is on your dash. same with the gauge cluster, it really should be fully digital at this point with much more customization.
