Great detailed and informative video! Unless I am missing something, I'd like to say that I purchased this exact model and want everyone know that it comes with a 6 speaker system, unless you upgrade to the Bose system. I was unaware of this and pretty disappointed when I realized 2 days after getting the car that there are NO speakers in the back. There are speaker covers on the inner back doors, but nothing behind them. No wires, harnesses or anything. It sounds great for what it is, and the EQ has a rear/front setting so it is possible to add speakers. My dealer quoted it but it was over $1,000 to do so through them. Back when they were using base 186hp powertrain, that amount of power is highly adequate for the mazda3s, but any other model in their lineup with that powertrain is slightly sluggish. It’s one of the few things I’d recommend that Mazda does is up the power on the base trains for the heavier vehicles.
190 HP without a turbo is darn impressive! Note that a turbo reduces the reliability and longevity of an engine and the internals. It's absolutely not a necessary component for vehicles like this that definitely do not lack in power.
Oh, Madza! Are you talking about Mazda, the car brand? 🚗 Mazda is known for producing stylish and reliable vehicles. They have a reputation for creating cars that are fun to drive and have great fuel efficiency. Some popular models include the Mazda3, Mazda6, and the sporty MX-5 Miata. If you're a fan of Mazda cars, you might enjoy their sleek design and performance features. Do you have a favorite Mazda model, Madza? 🚘😄
I think you have mixed up the audio. When the person on the left side of the screen talks, my right ear bud is firing while person on right talks, my left is firing . It should be opposite
This is a GREAT car! Mazda needs to make it slightly bigger though. I am 6'3'' and my head hits in the back seat. Same with the Hatchback. Needs an updated transmission also. The 6-speed is fine, but feels sluggish in its shifts. Dare I say a CVT, 8, or 10-speed would all be great options. Small company, so I understand, but to bring in more money, they need to appeal to a larger audience that uses their cars for a. variety of things. Interior space is huge. Hybrid is the goal, but that's asking for too much from Mazda
The sport mode helps with that. At 6’3 you’ll be very tight inside that car. Seat all the way down and back. Maybe the CX-5 would be a better option for you.
I just got a ce fwd. Was able to get $2k off the dealer bought at msrp with some add ons. Although at the time when I bought it was the only mazda3 available

This review makes me miss my 2019 Mazda 3 in soul red metallic. Loved that car. Traded it in for a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Limited. Thinking about buying a second Mazda 3 after this video.
I have the 2019 Mazda 3 and the continuous use of piano black for the center console is so damn annoying. I had to find a matte version online from eBay as the first day I got the vehicle scratches arose instantly!
It’s because there isn’t hybrid model. Toyota sells more hybrid versions of there current models then they do regular ICE. Honda also reported that 54% of Accords and CRVs sold are hybrids.
Probably because the Corolla is a bit more economical with the CVT, it’s a bit more cost effective (at least it used to be before dealers started ripping people off) and they offer a hybrid option which takes the fuel economy advantage much higher
I'd be very careful purchasing a new Mazda. I bought a new 2022 Mazda3 in 2022, the premium version from Safford Brown Fairfax Mazda. The leather on my driver's seat is changing color, and it has been a month of back and forth between Mazda and the dealership. After submitting numerous pictures and with the dealership's internet not working, Mazda does not want to take care of this. They are saying it is normal wear and tear, and my car is STILL under warranty! Might be heading to the BBB soon.
This is normal wear and tear with leather. Not unique. Denim jeans will turn white seats blue and so on. My Mazda dealer warned me why I purchased the car and offered to sell me a warranty to cover the discoloration and I turned it down. Most people know to buy some seat covers for the vehicles when it has leather. I bought covers and now that it’s 3 years old I don’t care and took the covers off and I have some yellowing of my parchment leather seats. It’s not a big deal to me. But seat overs are the answer.
@2004cyrus Yet my 2018 Mazda3 Grand Touring with exact color seating, did not discolor even at 40,000 miles at trade in. I look at my landlord's Acura seatsand even after years and mileage, still look new.
@@matthewharhai4039 that’s how leather works. Some becomes distressed or discolored if you wear pants with dye that is transferable- I use a leather cleaner that removes most of that color. It’s a car we are talking about. But our bodies, our homes, our pets, our belongings, our cars too… they get battle scars of use and of life. It’s normal. You seem totally twisted up about it. I doubt you will keep this car more than 15 years. Enjoy the car and ignore the small stuff. I guarantee your seats could be perfect and then what, you get idiots who bang your car with their doors on a windy day or a loose shopping cart careers towards your door. There is no such thing as showroom perfect as our cars get 3+ years old. Birds shit on them, potholes bend rims, boiling hot sun bakes the clear coat off and fades the headlights. Great looking in and out. Have y'all ever thought about doing a highway passing segment. Just to see how cars do there. Looking forward to the hatch review and what differences there are.
LEDs being impressive/premium is wild lmao like just take out the bulbs and replace them for 20 bucks? You may have complications with changing the turn signals to LED because the low wattage pull from the LEDs may not trigger the flashing of the turn signals when locking/unlocking but changing brake lights and headlights to LED is some simple stuff.
meh, i'm not really impressed. My 2017 touring model even had heated seats and power driver seat settings and the car only cost me 21k. 25k still just seems mind boggling for lower trim sedans. guess thats the age we're living in now
The cheapest base trim 2024 Corolla LE gasoline sedan will end up costing you 25k and that looks way cheaper than this Mazda 3. This is the new normal unfortunately. No more cheap cars. People are paying 20k for a new 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage with 78 hp!!
Used to have the 6 in 2002. Now in a Subaru Liberty 2.5i Premium 2017 which even that long ago, came with all the fruit. They don’t make Liberty’s anymore so looking at another 9.
Can you compare the AWD top trim with the Subaru Impreza top trim. I need an AWD for both snow / cold and highway driving - so need a quiet car with good gas mileage.
Currently driving a Mazda 3 Premium Plus loaner while my CX-90 is in the shop. Although this vehicle is too small for me in my current stage of life I am impressed. Very attractive and upscale inside and out; it really looks more expensive than what it is. Great handling and seemingly endless amounts of real world power from the turbocharged 2.5 liter engine with no turbo lag! Only negative is the gas mileage and the size of the fuel tank. 31 mpg hwy with only a 12.7 gallon gas tank is NOT impressive.
I doubt it is going to feel like you got a good deal with the turbo that comes in at ~$36,000. A heckuva an upcharge (not unique to Mazda). But, the question is, how much is a zing above "average" worth?
Always a pleasure guys. Nice review nice car. The start up chime went off 8 times. ( 8 ). It seemed a little excessive after 3. Any idea if that can be adjusted? One more question. What is a reasonably sized adult look like?
Is there a manual transmission available? How does it do on the Autobahn? My girlfriend bought the Yaris GR Bi Turbo. It is governed at 251 kph. I wonder how the Turbo performs.
@@kevinfestner6126 Agreed, but misguided world politics means car companies (especially smaller ones like Mazda) can no longer afford to do crazy experimental cars like they did in the late 80's and throughout the 90's. What that means is things like tiny high rpm V6 engines and true rotaries (among other cool things) are unlikely to ever return. It seems Japanese makers are determined to hang on to ICE and ICE hybrids as long as they can, but if their sale is banned in some of their biggest markets they will have no choice but to fall in line with everyone else and make rolling iphones.

Hi - you did an overview, but when you turned on the speaker system, you failed to mention there are NO rear speakers in the rear door. If you change your fader to rear only, there is not sound. I just purchased this 2024 select model, the same as yours, I went back to Mazda and the techs check for rear speaker told me all 6 speakers were installed to front of car. They didn't put the speakers in the rear doors. I call this false advertisement being that information didn't read this way on the invoice sticker. It said this car has six speakers but didn't note that there were no rear door speaker installed. Does anyone know about this? I'll have passengers who sit in the back , as they won't hear the sound of music the way i do. If you are planning to purchase a 2024 Mazda 3 Select sedan, DON'Y buy one if you care about having rear door speakers. Thank you for sharing that. I’m just about to purchase a 2024 Mazda 3 Select sedan myself. Anything else you don’t like about the car? Is the steering feel excessively heavy? Is visibility good? Did you pay MSRP or more?
No other complaints so far. I know that Mazda's are great cars. i believe my discount may have been around 1,500. I traded in my new Honda Civic EXL. I'm an older individual and decided the seats were too bucket which causes back aches during long rides. I've always driven Honda's but decided to go with the Mazda 3. I just find it hard to believe that not anyone knew, especially the people in service that Mazda 3, and CX30 doesn't come with rear door speakers. Are you planning on installing rear speakers? If so, just know your car will have to be re-wired completely, per Mazda techs & Installations Unlimited. Rear speakers in most cars sound like crap anyways. Its just a point that there are no rear speakers. Other than the information given the car itself and steering is perfect!, not heavy at all! It feels like you're in a very expensive luxury car. I didn't have rear cross traffic alert or blind spot monitoring in the Civic, and i'm loving it! I gave up some features in my civic, but gained features my civic didn't have. I don't like all the fully loaded stuff. it will only cost you more money when things stop working. My Civic had the Turbo engine. When they go bad it cost close to 3,000 to repair, therefore happy i don't have to worry about. If you want the rear speakers, and can afford the price jump, go with the preferred trim. Hip to these things…
I make sure to never do that but I see so many doing that.
Sound like a damn Karen 😊
Love my 2008, sedan! Runs great, love the green sand color! When are colors coming back? Also, black interior shows every little spec....grey better!
Great video, guys! This Mazda 3 looks very sinister in that color ! Love it !!!
Test drove the 191hp sedan. Buzzy engine around town , better on the highway, but the backseat is ridiculously small! Passed on it!
These are small cars
I’ve had 5 of these and never heard a “buzzy engine.” Did you end your buying a Chevy or a Corolla with a CVT?
It’s “buzzy” because it’s a 4 cylinder
in my area i am only seeing this car being sold for about 30k+ it's such a shame because I really do love the look of the car.
191 hp in a base model is crazy.
I think you have mixed up the audio. When the person on the left side of the screen talks, my right ear bud is firing while person on right talks, my left is firing . It should be opposite
Our apologies, there was an audio malfunction in this review
This is a GREAT car!
Mazda needs to make it slightly bigger though. I am 6'3'' and my head hits in the back seat. Same with the Hatchback.
Needs an updated transmission also. The 6-speed is fine, but feels sluggish in its shifts. Dare I say a CVT, 8, or 10-speed would all be great options.
Small company, so I understand, but to bring in more money, they need to appeal to a larger audience that uses their cars for a. variety of things. Interior space is huge.
Hybrid is the goal, but that's asking for too much from Mazda
small company, slow innovation. Mazda still using that outdated rotary knob infotainment system.......
I think they keep the 6 speed cuz it’s damn near bulletproof
Sir, Pay your tall man tax and buy other model of Mazda. If they make it bigger they will charge more and take away our short guy privileges.
@@Pain1959. LOL. We got a Cx-5 but it'd be nice to have something with a lower center of gravity
The sport mode helps with that. At 6’3 you’ll be very tight inside that car. Seat all the way down and back. Maybe the CX-5 would be a better option for you.

Mazda is definitely impressive in this segment, this should honestly sell much better than a Corolla which is more plebian even at its best.
Sorry to hear that, can you give an update?
You sound like a guy who needs to find something to do because you are just being unreasonably picky. You know material things are not supposed to stay perfect forever? You just need to chill, find a girlfriend and forget about your leather seats and enjoy the ride. You’ll replace it one day.

The dealership does that to all their cars for about $300 extra

LEDs being impressive/premium is wild lmao like just take out the bulbs and replace them for 20 bucks? You may have complications with changing the turn signals to LED because the low wattage pull from the LEDs may not trigger the flashing of the turn signals when locking/unlocking but changing brake lights and headlights to LED is some simple stuff.
LEDa suck in SNOW because they run cool = snow doesn't melt!
Love Mazda, I have a CX5, manual adjusted seats and specially the no-touch screen is a deal breaker for me
You love Mazda but there are deal breakers for you? I’m confused
meh, i'm not really impressed.

31 mpg hwy with only a 12.7 gallon gas tank is NOT impressive.

it's not worth it unless you want a huge hit to mpg and are constantly passing people on the highway.

If I had know it would have been the only reason I wouldn't have purchased one, but if found out after. Has anyone experience? I've seen this complain on other blogs.
Please send you reply back. I'd like to know how you made out! Good luck with your purchase

@@johnkonde1975 I just inquired about the preferred trim, and was also told by my sales person. He checked for rear speaker sound in the preferred, and the CX 3. No rear speakers.
