No Mercy on the N64 is a masterpiece. It did everything that WCW vs NWO Revenge and Wrestlmania 2000 did, but took it up a notch. I'm also more nostalgic for Revenge tho

Wcw/nwo revenge nearly made me flunk a year in high school. I will never forget that game. The biggest leap in a wrestling game we ever had.
As child I did play so much N64 wrestling games. Wcw nwo world tour and Revenge and WWF no mercy ❤
The sprites on Wrestlefest always blew me away! I loved RR mode too!!
I know. The sprites were incredible for the time. Even today they still hold up. My favorite sprite is lemon lime.

Wow, you missed out. Growing up with those simpler games made those my age and older appreciate the 3d late 90s era and later games so much more cause for years all you had was that punch and kick 8 and 16 bit 2d stuff.
Any of the AKI N64 games were a staple of friend gatherings after school, so much fun when you get four players in a TLC match and gang up on the best player lol
I regret not ever getting into wrestling as a kid. It was so fun.
I’m glad to hear someone speak the truth about No Mercy. It’s somehow developed a legendary status but I don’t even remember it. I remember wrestlemania 2000 but by the time No Mercy came out, I had a Dreamcast and wasn’t watching wrestling anymore once WWF merged with wcw.

I think I was like 10 when I first saw wrestling on TV in the early 90s. My friends and I were astonished by it. We used to wrestle everywhere and sometimes (actually quite often) would hurt ourselves 😂 but still, it was fun and no one complained. And what a hit it was when my neighbor next door bought Sega Mega drive and Wrestlemania! Oof, we'd rush to his house straight after school and play the hell out of it! Some of classmates used to join us too. It was really fun!

I already know this one's going to be a banger. Wrestling games and my retro life, you're slowly becoming actually not even slowly, you're becoming my favorite TH-cam channel, one that I will check frequently for new content. I don't do that often, I'm not one of those people that subscribes to all kinds of patreons or anything like that either, but we're about the same age and a lot of the things you talk about I can remember, and you do a great job putting the stories together and doing everything that you do. Just thought you should know because I know it's a lot of hard work and sometimes it probably feels like it's for nothing, but your dad would be so proud, he wanted to be a filmmaker and now you have fans. You have fans all over the world that cannot only hear about your story but see some of his work as well. Pretty awesome stuff. Currently, my mom and dad are both suffering with terminal cancer so your episode about being in the hospital playing the DS really struck a cord with me. Keep doing what you do, there isn't enough quality content on here like yourself, you are a cut above all of these hacks that just use quick cuts in loud noises and things to try to fool the algorithm or whatever, keep it up!
I love the video. You threw me off on # 1 though because you showed the world tour box but was saying revenge lol. I remember back in the day I had 2 home boys and we use to go to one of their house and play all day, this and tecmo bowl. We would put names in a hat and the ppl you pulled would be who you played with because everybody wanted stone cold and the rock and Goldberg and sting it was crazy. We had all 4 no mercy, WrestleMania 2000,revenge and world tour. We did the same thing with tecmo bowl but nobody was allowed to play with the 49ers because nobody could stop Jerry Rice. This video brings back so many great memories. As a matter of fact I still have and play Revenge and WrestleMania on my 64 today as we speak and tecmo bowl on my snes and nes. Great content man you just got a new sub. Keep up the great work man.

I remember distinctly when Revenge came out because my good friend who didn’t play video games much bought it on release day, and we would play it all the time at his place. I was never a huge wrestling fan but there are some seriously great memories of playing it with my buddy. I ended up getting my own copy for Christmas that year, to this day it’s the only wrestling game I’m nostalgic for
Playing WrestleFest in the arcade as a kid is a cherished memory. It's the reason that I set up a MAME machine.

SVR 2007 and Here comes the pain were awesome. I loved the story modes in most of the PS2 games.
S v R 2006 gm mode was addicting. Building feuds booking shows trying to get better ratings ❤️ I may dig it out actually lol

Love this episode! As a near lifelong fan of wrestling and wrestling games, this hits close to home. Nice to see the love for WCW/nWo Revenge! Also, It's hard to explain the experience of playing Smackdown for the first time. Going from War Zone and Attitude to Smackdown was mind blowing! Infinitely superior in every way to those previous 2 games.

Great video my friend! I grew up in the 80s and 90s too, and the arcade memories were fantastic times. Great picks on your list, I loved WCW/NWO Revenge and No Mercy as well.
If you love the retro AKI gameplay, I do recommend AEW Fight Forever on modern consoles. The match types are a little limited (similar to WCW/NWO Revenge), but the gameplay is fantastic and a direct homage to the AKI Games (AKI's director also helped develop it).

Great Wrestling countdown. The THQ wrestling games were the sole reason why I got a N64 for Christmas in 1999. My friend introduced me to World Tour first which I absolutely loved. And the following year for Christmas I got N64 with the purple atomic controller and WCW Vs NWO Revenge. The THQ wrestling games were flawless and endless fun playing by yourself or with your friends. The late 90’s early 2000’s was also peak wrestling ratings on TV and you had two of the major networks competing head to head. It was a unique and amazing time for wrestling fans as a kid growing up. I was 13 in 1999. The paper views were insane, and the (WWF Divas) at the time !? Do I need to say anymore !? Truly a special time in wrestling for tv and gamers. I 100% agree with you on Smackdown for PS1. The game was a head of its time for its graphics and fast gameplay. What always struck me was the Hardy Boys entrance in that game. Sick. WWF Royal Rumble was the first wrestling game I played for Sega Genesis. Incredible game.

I used to be a huge fan of wrestling in the early 2000s played the smack down games a ton!
Wrestlemania 2000 was EVERYTHING until the PS2 released, then the first few Smackdown games released yearly thereafter were AMAZING, you and your boys would all plug in your controllers and do tag team matches, customizing everything from the wrestlers to the entrance music to their movesets... man, wrestling was amazing back then.
I'm nostalgic for Revenge too, but No Mercy is far and away the best wrestling game ever made IMO.
Oh man…this video brings back a lot of good memories! I don’t totally agree with the list, but everyone has their games for each generation. No Mercy is 1# for me, but Wrestlemania 64, both WCW games for 64, virtual pro are all epic. N64 for wrestling games take the cake! But don’t forget Smackdown here comes the pain on PS2. It’s up there for sure.

Love that you put Wrestlefest on the list....this is definitely one of my favorite wrestling games of all-time and was top 3 arcade game for me as a kid. I still play today on emulators. I al so agree that Royal Rumble was my favorite NES game and the first one (home console) I remember having the ability to use "finishers" for the wrestlers.
I absolutely understand your choices, and agree myself on quite a few.
I find myself going back often to actual console, and even downloading mods to use on pc.
Glad to see World Tour get some love. It’s kind of forgotten now because of Revenge and No Mercy, but my friends and I played this for months. We went through it so many times to unlock every secret character in each of the feds.
Super surprised that “Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain” didn’t make the list!! It’s my all time favorite and usually at the top of peoples list of best wrestling games. Otherwise, another great video of your favorites! Good job, homie!
Wrestlefest was amazing in 1991. My local arcade had it from 1991 till 2004, when it closed down.
I still play it on my retropie, my anbernic and my tower.

I'm a similar age to you man. I was born in 1988 and used to watch Wrestling with my Uncle in the early 90's. My first Wrestling game was Royal Rumble on the Mega Drive (Genesis) and I loved it. Also had RAW on the Mega Drive a year later. Had Smackdown 1 and 2 on the PS1 as well. Smackdown 2 blew me away at the time. Amazing career mode, Hell In A Cell, TLC matches etc... I'm thinking of getting WWE 2k24 soon as well 😁

Based on your description of watching the CPU finish the match in Rumble I'm guessing you weren't aware you could press a button and take control of the next entrant. Good times. So many hours on these as a youth. I kinda fell off during the 3D era with the terrible PS1 Raw is War.

WWF Wrestlemania Challenge for the nes was the best game for me. Having Ultimate Warrior as a playable character for the first time on a home console was the best! A very underrated wrestling game that usually gets left out of ppls list is WCW World Championship Wrestling for the nes with the Road Wariors on the cover. I was not a fan of wcw growing up but I have to say, the amount of characters and having old school Sting was cool. The gameplay was different as well which I grew to like more than any nes wrestling game. Loved this video brother!

It’s really cool you grew up as a wrestling fan too! My favorite wrestling game has to be SVR 2007. It’s probably the first one I’ve played (I don’t remember) and it’s one of the reasons why I love wrestling as a whole.
Try S v R 2006 if u ever get a chance it has an addictive gm mode where you build feuds book shows and compete for higher ratings
Royal Rumble was/is my favorite game too, but I had it for the SNES. When I eventually found out that both consoles had five exclusive characters, in my opinion, I felt the SNES side made up for the lack of blood in Mortal Kombat.
You had Ric Flair, Mr. Perfect, Yokozuna, Tatanka, and Ted DiBiase. Flair & Perfect are two out of my three favorite wrestlers. That and the now-nostalgia of the game, and it just can't be beat. Thanks for the memories.
Great video and selection of games! I like that you have Wrestlefest in your top 10 because that game is amazing and somehow I've never played WWE Raw 2 for Xbox but it looks awesome and I'm going to play it now. I'm a big fan of WCW/NWO Revenge as well. It was the first 3D wrestling game that I played during that generation. I didn't own the game but my friend and next door neighbor did and in 1998, I spent nearly every weekday after school at my neighbors house for hours playing the game and had a blast. When Wrestlemania 2000 came out, my friends and I got it and played it non stop for at least a year. I've had more fun with the THQ wrestling video games than any other video games, ever. I still sometimes play the THQ games with my friends when we do game nights and have just as much fun. The late 90s was such a great time to be a wrestling and video game fan and I really cherish my memories from that era watching wrestling and playing these video games with friends.

I played Wrestlefest at the game room my aunt worked it. They had the best cheese sticks at that game room!
I also liked WWF Raw on Super NES, Super Wrestlemania, and WWF In Your House on PS1 and the ECW games weren’t too bad either.
I will never forget the first time that me and my brother got to rent WCW versus NWO revenge at our local Video warehouse was like block Buster for us. The nostalgia that my brother and me had walking in and seeing a wall slam full of the copy of that game. It was an awesome moment for us as kids. Because we We're so happy that they actually had plenty of copies. Lol

Wrestlemania XIX was my first one on the GameCube , man I remember playing that revenge mode for the first time, MIND BLOWN!
Oh, what a time travel! Even though it was an american thing, wrestling was huge here in Italy in the golden years! Until bad things happened with the Chris Benoit's tragedy, wrestling even had fully translated shows here...man, that was a huge thing. Then, after that came silence. I collect all the wrestling games I like from 8 to 32-bit consoles, I buy the good ones that I discover playing them on emulators, but the most nostalgic of all time for me are in this Top 3: Saturday Night Slam Masters by Capcom played in the arcades, WWF WrestleFest also played in the arcades and WWF War Zone played on the first PlayStation.

WWF Royal Rumble was my first favorite wrestling game too, but I had the SNES version and loved that roster much more.
Revenge is legendary
I played WrestleMania on NES, a few on SNES but my favorite was WCW vs The World on PlayStation. I used my game shark to unlock hundreds of characters.
I think Smack down 2's season was the best story mode ever.
I was born in 85, and after watching several of your videos and seeing the games you played, I can tell you were born in the 80’s, as well.
Anyway, WCW Revenge is the greatest game from our era (I posted this comment before even seeing you put this game at 1, haha), but of course there is no revenge without world tour, and there is no world tour without wcw vs the world for PS1. These 3 were the best wrestling games ever if you ask me (and I was more of a WWF fan).
Also, I had Royal rumble on the SNES. It was the first wrestling game that was all mine on the first console that I owned and didn’t have to share with my brother (he had his own Genesis). I’d spend hours playing the Royal rumble game mode, as well!
WCW vs. nWo World Tour was my favorite wrestling game of all space and time… Good Stuff and Take Care Out There.

For me there's been two amazing wrestling games in my life.
#1 was Royal Rumble on SNES, and #2 is one of the wrestling games on N64, but I cannot for the life of me remember _exactly_ which one it was.
Playing those games with friends was super fun and brought us so much joy and laughter, superb games to play with friends (not that fun if played alone though).
I love your picks! No one ever gives love to RAW 2 but at the time it was the bomb! I loved the megadrive Royal Rumble because it had Hulk Hogan and SNES had Ric Flair. Revenge is also my number 1! I also liked wrestlemania 2000 more than No Mercy for some reason too.

I remember this being my first wrestling game, the 1989 WrestleMania one. I thought it was so cool how if Bam Bam was going against himself his secondary outfit had green flames I believe, I always thought that was so cool every one of my family knew who Bam Bam Bigelow was and they never watched wrestling because they thought the character looked so crazy in the game. What memories
Wrestlefest and Superstars on the arcade will also be my favourite, but WWF Superstars on the Gameboy holds a special place in my heart! Another WWF wrestling game that goes under the radar is WrestleMania on the Amiga 👍🏻
Yep I would say Revenge is my favorite, but I also remember the thrill of playing world tour with three friends. It's probably some of the best multi-player fun I've had. No Mercy had the most improvement, but I hated the cartridge glitch that would randomly erase all the save data.
WCW vs. nWo: World Tour was also.the first Wrestling videogame I've played and the first N64 title that was introduced to me by my cousins when I was 3 years old. Thanks for putting this game on the list, the music Is the one thing I remember the most. It has to be the best music for working out.
there was also blood on WCW vs NWO WT. You could go into the game settings and toggle "Realism: On". tho not the best, it was probably my fav just for nostalgia purposes when id be with my friends playing it.
PS2 has amazing wwf/wwe games as well from here comes the pain to SmackDown vs raw series from 2005-2009
Speaking of retro wrestling games! The upcoming Ultraprowrestling game seems to be the retro game we all have been waiting for all theese years!
WCW guy here and WCW was my favourite company with the likes of Sting, Scott Steiner, Hogan, Nash and Hall, DDP, Kanyon, Raven, Goldberg, Eddie, Benoit...Booker T and many more..
UPW has me worried the dev says its gonna release very bare bones in content with over 30 wrestlers of individual paid dlc.

This brings me back to some good childhood memories! I remember getting WWF smackdown for the PS for Christmas and didn’t care about the rest of the presents and rushed to my tv to play it.
I can relate with renting royal rumble on the snes from blockbuster I think I bought the game 10 times over 😅 I also rented Saturday night slam masters so many times too.

Other wrestling games that i used to play were on the gamecube called day of reckoning 1 and 2 and wrestlemania XIX. Also, sega dreamcast had wwf royal rumble and wwf attitude, which were also some great wrestling games to play.
That NES vs Arcade visual comparison is crazy. I'm sure we will never see leaps in graphics quite like the 90s. Home consoles went from NES to Dreamcast in a single decade.
WWF smackdown was the game that actually made me realize how much better PS1 handles textures over the N64. There’s so much more detail in smackdown over Wcw vs Nwo.
