LET'S GET NUTS! What's your favorite Michael Keaton Era Batman game? Thanks for watching!
I love the Sega version of Batman 1 although the nes one gets all the glory
Batman on the amiga 500! Give it a try it’s epic!
@@MrFrijj85 I really should!
One of my 1st purchases when I finally bought a PC Engine Duo was that Batman game.
As for favorite from this era, it will always be NES Batman. One I rented numerous times before finally getting a copy at one point. Still one of the few NES games in my small collection that I don’t plan on parting with. Honorable mention goes to the Genesis animated series game.
@@MyRetroLife❤
I feel so lucky to have gotten to know your dad through all of these videos. Just by having watched the rest of them, I can actually hear how excited he must’ve been to play these Batman games for the first time
He LOVED the Sega CD game. Definitely was his favorite. Loved watching me play the NES game :-)
michael keaton as batman was magical
Best live action Batman!
Yup he's the best
He's back!
Best one ever
I mean, he is a perfect precrisis Batman. But as a postcrisis fan, he is not my favourite.
Michael Keaton's Batman was definitely the best. A lot of it was the Tim Burton vibe, but also the actors were top-notch. Batman Returns is my absolute favorite out of all the Batman films.
My favorite is Batman Returns too!
mine too. solid movie.
@@MyRetroLifeit has ALWAYS beeny favorite as well. I'm the same age as you Tyler and I remember being MESMERIZED as a kid when I saw it in theaters. I also remember all the hate it got.
I'm so happy to see that now, thirty years later, it's getting the accolades and appreciation it so much deserves!
This is the coolest gaming channel I’ve ever seen. Where most people can only tell their stories your dad made it possible to SHOW the world. You may be the only person with this much footage of the games being played in their era. Almost like your dad knew it would be worth something one day. Not just to you but to the gaming community.
Batman on the NES is what got me back into retro gaming. The thought of never beating it made me want to play it and finally complete it. Now I beat it about once a month.
That’s awesome Jay
It was one of the games that got me back in too and I had to finally beat it, which I did. It's hard to top the NES Batman. A true classic.
It's the first game that made me throw my controller haha
Dude everything about your home videos is straight out of my childhood... The outfits, the hairstyles, the carpet, the side table, the curtains, the glasses, the floor mounted wooden TV... It's spooky
How incredible to have such memories and videos of a child and their father. Makes me miss my dad, and I never even had such a memory/video.
Awesome episode. This is the best channel on TH-cam!
I agree
😢I think this channel even better then Mr beast
I think the reason why I love your videos Tyler because you’re dad reminds me how my dad was to me he used to take me to comic stores and game stores all the time just to make my life with cerebral Palsy more fun and easier I miss him every day but I know he’s in Heaven right now waiting for me. The NES Batman game is one of my favorite NES games definitely top 3! Keep up the great work Tyler still watch every upload! You really should do a video on the history of your dad I think a lot of your subscribers are interested in his life story! :)
The cut scenes in Sega CD Batman could be regarded as a hidden episode of the fox animated series, it has original animation and voice acting by the cast including Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill
Glad to see the Master System version on here. The grappling hook is such a fun mechanic.
Truly underrated game!
This video appeared as random and im glad it happened those home movie clips from you make me travel back in time, thank you very much, i didn’t had the chance that my parents take home videos back then.
My absolute favorite Batman, I had all those toys from the 1st Batman movie, those were the best days of my life
I love it Tyler! Love all your videos. Thank you for keeping the nostalgia alive!
Hi @MyRetroLife , just wanted to say that I'm literally so happy and proud seeing your channel growing rapidly and the fact you're almost at 100k subscribers on youtube, and you literally made my childhood, your videos are so nostalgic right now, and I'm currently amazed that you still deliver amazing and awesome content in a short amount of time, and you deserve more than being an obscure and underrated, you honestly deserve it all and I'm super excited of any upcoming videos, and please forgive me when I was 13, in the DMs, I didn't know anything about boundaries and crossing the line, anyways, tyler, please never lose that spark in your content and never lose the spark in your personality and keep up the good work! =D ☺
I agree, the first Batman by SunSoft on the NES is a masterpiece and rightfully deserves the #1 spot, it has a perfect gameplay 10/10 and a OST at a 10/10, even the game over music is so badass that you would hum the tune in your head for a while, a timeless classic.
It is so funy when you where a little kid, man I love this Chanel, never stop to upload videos 😁
Michael Keaton's Batman has a special place in my heart as being the movies that introduced me to the character as a kid.
Just came across your channel a couple days ago and immediately subscribed I'm 18 and i too grew up playing a lot of classic video games with my dad and older brothers and sisters . I can tell you had a awesome childhood. Your awesome tyler
I loved the original duology of Batman films with Keaton. So sad that they declined for the following films.
that last game with purple batman i have it her when i was kid it was amazing game im happy for that i have it her too back in the old days it was super fun i wanna back in time
You mentioned the Sunsoft game Gremlins 2, and I had a deep love for that game. One spring break I rented it and played it the entire week. I never owned it but it was an experience that I still distinctly remember. Good gaming memories.
I got the Genesis Batman back in 2003, and it is still my favorite Genesis game of all time! I beat it hundreds of times, and still play it to this day! The OST is so good that I have Gotham City Streets playing in my car a lot! Excellent game!
You earned my Sub man. This took me back! All you videos take me back!
it's hard to believe Sunsoft isn't still around The soundtracks they put out for the NES and Genesis are LEGEND
Batman on NES was the first game ever to make me cry out of pure frustration back when i was like 5-6 years old. Good times! :P
Batman Returns for SNES was my childhood favorite to this day i hold it close to my heart. Michael Keaton will forever be Batman to me.
Batman on the NES was also one of my favorite NES games (and still is). I remember I was about 5 or 6 when my dad bought Batman and I was EXSTATIC. I played it and played it and played it. Today, it's a classic. Dark tone, great gameplay, and incredible music! Yes, it's a difficult game, but that didn't matter. It was (and still is) FUN.
I loved Batman Returns on the SNES. Very much inspired by Final Fight, but it really had its own feel.
The Batman Genesis box is so iconic it holds an amazing place in my gaming heart also :D
Hey man I know you're from the us where the commodore Amiga never really existed but there was a really awesome batman 89 game that was a bundle with the system. The A500 batman pack is massively nostalgic to a lot of us Brits of a certain age. The actual game was a pretty standard platform game (albeit with excellent graphics and music) interspersed with amazing 3d driving and flying sections that really showed off the power of the Amiga.
Great times. Although I didn't get to play those games, that era was special to me.
As alwyas. Your videos hit home for me soooooooooooooo much. My dad recorded as well, but no where near as much as ur dad. Man watching all this reminds me of all the awesomely good times i had with my dad. Also cousins same as u. I was only child. Born in 83. Got my nes action pack,❤ i think it was called, came with gun and mario and duckhunt. Still have it. I have all my stuff. Anyway im rambling, sorry . I love your videos sir, they hit so close to home for me. Much much love from deep woods of L.A., .....lower alabama.....
I played that game soooooo much!! Definitely reliving my childhood here. Thank you!!
My two favorite are Still Returns on Snes and 89 on Genesis !!!
That's so funny, I had the same thoughts about the NES screenshots on the back of the Genesis Batman case. Great video!
Keaton Batman fan here, too. I’m sure a majority of us here are, haha. Great list of games - if number one wasn’t number one on your list, you would have lost a subscriber lol. Kidding aside, I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for bits of your home videos, it’s literally like reliving my childhood 😭
I have pictures of my older brother and me dressed up as batman and Robin from 1996. I remember all the hype!!
I remember beating NES Batman for the first time and the feeling of satisfaction was immense. I had tried so many times and then I finally did it! The Joker was no joke as a boss.
I love how your dad was always trying to steal Santa's thunder. He just couldn't give Santa that credit.
A Batman collection of these games for current generation consoles would be amazing.
Michael Keaton was and only will be the king of batman 🙏🏽🤘🏾
First time subscriber, great video
Buddy i can totally relate big time. Batman 1989 & Batman Returns are the first Batman movies i ever saw as a kid and had all the Kenner & toybiz toyline of both movies and are the ones that made me a Batman fan to this day especially with Batman Returns I'm still obsessed with with that movie to this day at 32 years old like i was back in the early 90s. Keaton is and always be Batman
Never had Batman on NES, but did play it a bunch. At this friend, that cousin, that kinda thing. I had a very good feeling this would top your list. Goodvideo
Wow, what a lucky kid! I got that Robin action figure that I spotted in your video lol
Wow, I got the same batwing and Batmobile from Batman 89. Love the NES and SNES Batman games.
my favorite batman game was on the super nes, batman forever. back then I was impressed with the graphics and gameplay 💯
Amazing video Tyler!
Thanks man! Appreciate it
I enjoy your videos and I'm a Michael Keaton fan because he's Batman and I just wanted to say keep up the great work your awesome I'm a big fan
Perfect lineup. Batman on the nes. Masterpiece. I recall just moving and ducking, and wall jumping for no reason other than to watch the incredible animation. And the music man, I STILL can hum those tracks and I last played the game probably a few months after it came out.
I love the Tim Burton Batman films too. Batman (89) is my favorite movie of all time and Batman Returns is my favorite Batman movie. I love the NES and Sega Genesis Batman games and Batman Returns (SNES).
That summer I went to see Batman change my live forever
Love this channel
Man that Batman on genesis I had extremely early because I ordered it from Japan. The way the cartridge was, I had file down the sides so it could fit into my genesis. Game was incredible.
Man, if Arcade 1up ever did a Batman 89 cabinet, I'd be all over that.
I loved the first two Batman movies do much. I remember the marketing blitz of the Batman films. The marketing was everywhere. Anything you could slap a Batman logo on, they did it
Sadly, the only Batman game i owned as a kid was Batman Returns on SNES. We wanted the others, but we never ended up getting them.
16:27 awww 🥺☺
You forgot the best beat ‘‘em up on the NES, TMNT II: The Arcade Game 😂
Once the Michael Keaton Batman came out i wanted to be Batman. I had the batmobile as a kid that converts into 3 different vehicles. I would get all the action figures at the flea markets in Scranton pa. I would wait in line at Sugarmanns 6 am after Christmas in Eynon pa for the batman toys.
For me the games i loved were Batman nes batman, batman returns, nes and snes, joker returns nes ... Wow what a time to be a kid!
I saw Batman when i was in hospital from a concussion (bicycle accident) and loved Michael Keaton and Jack Nickleson. The 92' film was even more impressive and i just loved how dark ,gothic nyc looking the movie was. Saw it in theater opening day and those memories will be etched forever ❤
That Batman Returns game for the Master System was one that I played on the Game Gear, since that is how we got it here in the United States as you mentioned that the Master System never caught on here. I have not tried the Master System release of it, but I imagine that it is better because there was not all the cropping done to it in the way that the Sonic 2 game was so much more of a challenge on the Game Gear.
Batman for NES is WONDERFUL! Batman Returns for SNES is PHENOMENAL!
The latter is also one of the greatest "beat'em ups" of the era, hands down!
The Michael Keaton Batman is the first live action Batman that I have watched. In video games, I think the Gameboy Batman is my first taste of the Batman games. 🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
As soon as I saw your #2 I knew what was your #1. Good job👍
I had Batman returns on game gear, freaking thing was hard as hell.
Just did a Batman Returns on SNES, playthrough. Such a great game. Unforgiving, but still great.
It's mediocre at best compared to Streets of Rage. Maybe if it was on the Mega Drive it could've been better. No 2 player mode (the worst thing for this genre, as the games simply aren't fun in sp), not enough opponents on the screen at once (crap snes 8-bit cpu) and overall just quite dull and boring in its monotony.
@@ShadowAngel-lt8nw - All is subjective. Grew up playing 2P games but also had no problem playing Beat Em Up as 1P. . Mega Drive LOL
I have to 100% agree with your #1 pick...my absolute favorite Batman game to this day but my #2 would have to be Batman Returns on NES and my #3 being Batman Returns on SNES. I also had no idea that the first Batman was also on Sega. Side note: I met Batman on my 21st birthday at Six Flags St. Louis. Great video Tyler...keep it up buddy! So glad you still have all the footage you and your dad made. He would be proud that you're still into this and that you are carrying on the tradition with his granddaughter. Love it
Whether or not Return of the Joker can be considered "Nintendo hard," I think it can still be considered a classic. (At least IMO.)
My favorite batman game from back in the days was on sega genesis batman returns so many memories
Interesting list. All tho I didn't played as much Batman movie based games, those that I played is in my own list of top Batman games. And those been: Batman for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, Batman Returns for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis AND Sega CD and Batman Returns for SNES. Sure, I played NES versions too, but I played them in modern days, like in 2013 or so, via emulation, and not back in my childhood. Because, I could not find them for NES back then. But, those 16 bit games that I played - I like them all, but my favorite of all them would be Batman 1 for Mega Drive/Genesis because, it was my very first true Batman game on the platform. Sure, it was not THE first game that I played, cause that award goes to Mortal Kombat 1 and Battletoads, but as my very first Batman game, that game by Sunsoft for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis is amazing! I remember even playing it back to back while watching a movie. Like, we had two TVs, and so when movie started, I watched movie, and when they interrupt it for advertisement, I put in the cartridge and started to play and then I stopped right at the time, when movie was back on TV again. And those were amazing feelings, man. It was like playing a game and watching cutscenes at the same time. Like in modern video games. It was great times. All tho my childhood was not as happy and colorful as I would wanted, but still, there were planty of great moments that I would love to return to.
Awesome a new video:)❤❤❤❤
Genesis Batman as the youngsters say these days: SLAPS. Even Sega Lord X has the music in his outros lol
Michael Keaton is my Batman
Yes!! Love me Keaton Batman thanks Tyler for vids
Great video! for me, Batman on the NES is THE best NES game hands down.
Batman: The Video Game! Might be my favorite NES game or at least top 5. Great list as usual. Some games in there i never played sadly.
When you think how tiny a MB is, and what they accomplished with sound and visuals....it blows my mind STILL.
I'm 41 and it makes me sad Gen Z will never appreciate what a true art form pixel games are
Spent hours playing Batman Returns on Genesis and loved that game though my favorite Batman game on the system was Batman Forever only because the 2 player fighting game in training mode that let you play as all the villains
I'm 40 and of course my favorite Batman videogame is the NES version too 🥰
The scene where the Batmobile guns the portcullis is one of a kind 🤩
I had the Game Gear version of Batman which is basically a port of the Sega Master system it looks like - pretty cool...but my favorite games were Batman returns on SNES and Batman for NES
Penguin: "you don't really think you'll win do you?"
Batman: "things change."
Batman returns for the Sega CD, hands down my absolute favorite. I bought the game first before the console. This way, it gave me an excuse to tell my late wife that I had no choice but to buy it. She caved. Miss her so much. 😒😞
Great list! Wondering your thoughts on the Arkham series games if you've played them.
Batman returns is my favorite, boy would i like a pow wow with kitty lady from the movie that she plays the cat lady.
Michael Keaton Batman
Jack Nicholson Joker
thats all that matter made my life and i was born in 1993
Can totally relate to this 👍
I think the Batman Returns for SNES was the best Batman game. It did feel a lot like the movie. The first Batman for NES was cool, but very hard. I made it all the way to Joker, and couldn't beat him. But I do agree that SunSoft had great music, graphics and gameplay. That's one company that did NES games right!
9:59 Batman - Return of the Joker for the Game Boy DMG is a fantastic game, as well and IMO better than the first Batman game for Game Boy.
Way to difficult for me. I could never get very far in it and this it never made a lasting impact. Maybe I should check it out again
@@MyRetroLife It’s not too bad on easy mode, and all the bosses have their respective patterns. I just love the music, graphics, and gameplay mechanics.
I have batman returns on snes and I loved it it plays like a final fight game which I like
Journey to Silius was another Sunsoft nes masterpiece
Batman Returns had some pretty good games!!
BATMAN RETURN OF THE JOKER on NES will forever be the best BATMAN game for me at least....since it kinda was the only one i played on nes and snes, other than the arcade game that was trash and the one that looked like mortal kombat.
I always wanted Batman on the GB.
I agree with most of this list, although I would put Batman Arcade a little bit higher (5 or 6). Batman NES is definitely the greatest.
i played the shit out of batman gameboy as a kid, never finished it though...still playing today
1:52 battletoads... tmnt arcade.. Captain America and the Avengers were fun beat em ups
And the first Simpsons.
The Konami batman returns was the one i remember so well.. iv never seen a game that so closely adapted a movie than that game!! Even in the 1st level when in the movie batman is saving Selina, he shoots his grappling hook into the wall behind the goon n yanks the wall debris out of the wall to knock him out!! When I saw that in the game as a kid my eyes got all crackhead style wide lol. the only thing about that game that bummed me out was that I found it too hard to get past a certain point, I feel like it was reletivly early in the game to where u are in a burning building n I ALWAYS wasted so much health that I never got too much further past that level.. I think the furthest I got just one time was the 1st penguin boss fight on the rooftop where the girl falls to her death in the movie...in those days it wasn't a surprise to me if I was forever stuck in a loop of the same 1-5 levels and NEVER seeing beyond a certain point lol.. most games that ended up being too much for my 5-9 year old ass were a perpeputal repeat of the same tired n true levels I knew I could beat, but then only getting past "the point of no return" 1 out of 25 tries... when I'd see older kids get to levels iv never seen before it was always a HOLY SHIT moment!! I think there was always a certain level of acceptance that "level 3 or 4" was always gonna be my "last level" I'd ever get to see on my own and was ok with them being "my levels" that I can play on repeat without any loss of enjoyment! Anytime I lucked past those levels was jus a unexpected bonus and 99% of the time I would be so excited about this new level that I'd Day 30 seconds in lol. Then I'd just think "wow! It waa fun while it lasted!! Atleast I can tell ppl iv reached a new threshold!!" The one thing I learned as a adult is that ALOT of those difficult games haf nothing to do with my age! They were simply HARD for everyone to the point where "H" for hard should have been a content rating!! sure some games were only harder because I was a child, but to learn that MOST of these games were hard no matter how old the player was came as a big surprise....sure a adult or teenager were more equip to figure out and endure tougher games n therefore more likely to see the game thru to its conclusion! However the notion that the game was hard only because u were a child were wrong I alot of cases..which made me feel better as a adult who rarely saw past the midpoint in 90% of the games I played as a kid lol.
I agree with you Tyler. Michael Keaton was the best Batman. And the best Bruce Wayne.
I'm Batman that never gets old
Wow look at those graphics pn Batman Forever Snes. Still looks good.
