  • The second visit to this walk and still it remains one of my favourites.
Parking up at Edale Village Hall car park, I headed towards Grindsbrook Clough through the very autumnal setting. The climb up Grindsbrook Clough makes this walk for me, particularly at this time of the year with all the water flowing fast down the clough. The views at the top are something to behold too.
From the top of the clough, it's a walk along the top of Kinder with fantastic views to the left before turning right and heading through the messy peat bogs and crossing/leaping several streams along the way. Tough going but worth it when you make it to the downfall. The views again are breath taking.
Then it's on to the trig point, the highest point on the walk and indeed the highest point of the Peak District National Park. Not much in the way of scenery here today though as I was engulfed in the clouds.
The cloud didn't last for long though as I dropped away from the trig point and onwards to Jacob's Ladder which drops down eventually leading back into Edale.
Another fantastic days hiking in the Peaks.

Finally, I don't get paid to do these videos, I make them because I enjoy doing so and they make for great memories to look back on in years to come. However if you enjoy them and want to say thank you with a small tip, you can do so at buymeacoffee.com/PipesHikes
The contribution may go on a hot drink or a lager, but most likely it will be saved for future adventures to put to film.

Love this walk, hope to do it again myself before too long. Just need to go a bit more to get myself this fit again.

I've loved watching this video - it's fab! I'm a bit tetchy about planning a route to Grindslow Knoll and back to Edale. Is it at all possible to get up Grindsbrook Clough via a path at the side rather than having to walk in the Clough and in the water?
    Thanks

I’m pretty certain there is no extra path that runs beside Grindsbrook Clough I’m afraid. If there is, I’ve never seen or heard about it. There are times when there is little to no water flowing down the Clough which makes it a far easier (and drier) walk, but obviously we are starting to stray into more wetter weather and then comes autumn and winter so those days could soon be a while away.

I believe so yes. All national park areas are now open and I have a friend who was there yesterday. I haven't been back since the lockdown was lifted but am hoping to do so very soon! Just be warned, I'm led to believe it is rather busy at present with so many people still not back at work.
