Lovely film, it reminds me of walking with my Dad as a young man in the 1970's on Kinder, which fueled my love of walking and the wonderful Peak District to this day. Thankyou.
Another beautiful film and wonderful walk, but the real stand out here was the music score which added atmosphere in abundance. A real masterpiece of composition Patrick.
Late in watching this Patrick we only got back from Robin Hoods Bay on Sunday, Kinderscout always takes me back to 1976 when as a 16 year old Scout along with 3 other Scouts we started our Pennine Way adventure a 280 mile walk to Kirk Yetholm, it was in the Scouts I discovered my love of walking and over 50 years later I'm still banging in the miles, great film thank you.
I've never seen anything about Kinder Scout on film before, Patrick, and it's mighty good of you to have given us this presentation, which is fantastic. It's incredible to see so many rock formations on this plateau, nothing that I ever thought that what it would look like. The Downfall must really look spectacular when there's been a particular wet season, but it still looks great, like what you've shown us. The views, yes, must be really panoramic looking over to New Mills and into Greater Manchester. Anyhow, what people fought for all those years ago was well worth it, for the benefit of others to enjoy in later years up to present. The countryside of Great Britain should be welcome for us all (now, and in the future). Many thanks.
Glad you enjoyed this Ffranc. There are certainly many other videos on TH-cam of Kinder Scout as I guess it's one of the essential places to visit in the Peak District. This is the second one I've done. Would have loved to have seen thw Downfall in spate, but yes it was still great to see all the same. I think a lot of us take for granted the benefits we all have now to walk anywhere thanks to the trespass. Thanks as always Ffranc for watching and commenting 👍
My wife and I thoroughly enjoy your many walks and as we are retired we cannot visit many places as my wife is disabled,we wish you well Patrick keep up the good programs
It's a beautiful hike today, Patrick. I have only been up Kinder a few times, and last time was the Edale Skyline Challenge. That one did me in. It takes the young ones about 7 hours, it took me nearly 15 hours. I have really enjoyed this one, Patrick. Thank you so much for sharing. To think, if it were not for the mass trespass, then would we all be up there today?
Glad you enjoyed it Chris. It is amazing to think how much we probably take for granted today when you think of what the mass trespass did for us. I don't think I would attempt the Edale Skyline Challenge now, I'm sure I'd be done in too 😅 Thanks Chris for watching and commenting, all the best 👍
Grandiosa ruta la de hoy Patrick!! Los paisajes son increíbles y esos saltos de agua con buen caudal tienen que ser dignos de verse! Gracias por éste maravilloso paseo en las tierras altas!
@@solitaryramblerGreat rute grat Great route today Patrick! The landscapes are incredible and those waterfalls with good flow must be worth seeing! Thank you for this wonderful ride in the highlands!
Probably my fave Peak District walk. We went from Edale village, up onto the ridge via the zig zag path and along to the trig point, back down Jacob's Ladder and across the fields back to the car. A superb day.
Some grand upland is Kinda Patrick and as you mentioned some freedoms we both enjoy had a start there amazing and great full A nice touching shoutout too 🤠🙏🏼 ATB and thank you for another excellent Film Best regards Simon 🙏🏼🤠🏔️
Hi Simon, yeah Kinder is an awesome place, and it has a great legacy with the mass trespass. Glad you enjoyed the shout out too 😀 Thanks for watching and commenting Simon, always appreciated. All the best 👍
I've always found Kinder to be a magical place. The views up there across the landscape are wonderful. It's always windy up there though and i thought it might blow your hat off. I remember walking down from Kinder to the Mermaids Pool. We should be thankful for the protesters, as they changed the law and won our right to roam, which we should have anyway. When i saw that you'd uploaded today, i thought as soon as I'm home then it's some tea and biscuits and let's catch up on where Patrick's been. You did some walking there and parts are difficult enough without holding a camera. You did extremely well. Lovely that those ladies thanked you for the pleasure your walks give to people. They really are always a joy to watch. Keep on rambling. Cheers Patrick 😁
I think Kinder is very magical too, love the place and haven't been up there much really. I do lose my hat (temporarily) in another film! 😅 Yes it's thanks to the protesters that we have the Peak District National park today and the right to roam. I tried to capture with my camera how difficult the walk can be in parts as well as showcasing the various terrain encountered on this walk. It was lovely of those ladies indeed, I was a bit worried a first when they suddenly approached me in the street, but once they explained it was indeed a lovely thing. Thanks Kelly as always for watching and for your continued support. All the best 👍
Loved this one as always, great trek n so good you followed in the footseps of all thoes who made it possible for us to do what we do, thanks Patrick for taking us along 👍 as always
Cheers Jay. Yes I'm sure many of us take it for granted when you think of the great history behind this walk. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks as always for watching 👍
Really good walk Patrick. I’ve done a variation of it but the circular walk you did is definitely one I will be doing. Thanks for sharing it with us 👍🏻
Now there's a coincidence! I literally just booked a weekend at the C&CC site at Bowden Bridge before it closes for winter. I thought, I've got a few minutes spare, I'll watch one of Patrick's! And there you were starting at Bowden Bridge 😁 A classic Peak District hike, and your video really did it justice!👍☺
Morning Des, a coincidence indeed, it must have been a sign! 😁 Yes this walk had to be done sooner or later, so I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks Des for watching and enjoy your weekend at Bowden Bridge when it happens 😀👍
A lovely walk Patrick so peaceful, your music goes so well too 😊 absolutely stunning scenery and views, lovely. Thankyou for taking us along! Have a good weekend 😊
Another cracking video Patrick ..you have a great narrative voice, very akin to the great Oliver Postgate (Bagpuss, Ivor The Engine) very easy to listen to :0)
Wow What walk Patrick beautiful Fan- Bleeding Tastic !!!! would love to do that walk looks a bit tricky in places though and how clumsy i am remember Lath Kill Dale Patrick and that was on a flat but stoney ground haha !!! 🤣 not long now before we come up again first week in November !!
Another fan-bleedin-tastic walk indeed Russ, glad you enjoyed it 🙂 The terrain on this walk does make it quite tricky in places, but it's a worthwhile walk all the same. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I’ve just come back from the Peak District yesterday. The only walk I did was on Big Moor to the companion stones. Have done a bit of this walk but not on Kinder it’s just too steep.
A good day's walk. Wonderful area, but becoming a bit too much for me these days. At least I have all the memories of past walks, which your film has brought to mind, for which many thanks.
I do believe it was getting windier as you got higher Patrick - as it does of course. But I thought your mic coped well. Always impressive up there - I didn't think their were that many people. Or maybe most of your route was away from the Kinder honey spots. I think that was it. Yes, I've seen Kinder Downfall spray backwards before. It is unusual. Gotta say I love them cloughs Patrick and I like to hear stories of the viewers. Good that the daughter of the late man got to speak to you. Well, you followed the mass trespassers. What would walking in this country be like without them? Good going - a fab walk. Mark
The wind certainly picked up Mark as I got closer onto Kinder. That piece of kitchen sponge stuck on my camera mic is great 😁 It doesn't shield the wind completely of course, but it still does a pretty good job. I started this walk pretty early in the morning, so it got busier with other walkers towards the end. I've not seen the backwards spray of the Downfall myself, hoping to do so of course one day. I love all those cloughs too as they descend from the plateau, they give it part of its character. Yeah great to have met those three women, nice of the one to mention her late father. A classic walk this of course. We do owe them a lot for our enjoyment of where we can walk today. Thanks for watching and commenting Mark. All the best down there 👍
@@solitaryrambler Ha ha, it's kitchen sponge. Awesome! Good to hear of the timing in the walk Patrick - it worked! Oh no neither have I - I've seen it on youtube as I have them cloughs. I'll walk them one day. Yeah, it's great to hear mice words and hike in the midst of the pioneers. A pleasure as always.
Patrick, nice scenic 8 mile ramble, did you ever have a confrontation with a goat or sheep, a goat charge me on the Cleveland path, near robins hood bay, just missed me hit a post, i hope that red nose lis from the sun and not from too many pints?
Hi Patrick, Thank you again for another lovely walk, and the scenery was stunning, we just love walking along with you. take care from Dave & Jean.

Lovely walk Patrick, it's amazing how it can be so bleak and blustery at the top and then sunshine when you reach the reservoir! I love Kinder 🙂
Thanks for watching and commenting Steph. Kinder never disappoints, but yeah the sun and the wind were sure in full presence the day I shot this! 👍
