@@kentbremner7828 I agree but GM makes a 4.2 liter twin turbo v8 that makes 550 hp and 627 ft lbs of torque Chevy would have to tune it to get a little more power out of it. Yes it's a small V8 but it's a beast plus it would pair nicely with the 10 speed automatic and it will probably fit good in the new blazer it would be a lot cheaper to just offer the 4.2 V8 with the ten speed as an option to take on the Trackhawk but with the stock hp and torque it could put up a good fight with the Bentley Bentayga with the 6.0 twin turbo W12

My wife and I upgraded from a Malibu to the Blazer RS with the addition of our new baby. I must say, it drives really smooth. You feel no difference between 30 mph and 65 mph. But, that's all I can give you because my wife won't let me drive it 😔

I just think it’s expensive for what it is. My coworkers cousin bought one for $60k all in. You can buy a Lexus NX, BMW X3, Acura RDX, Mercedes GLC, or a used Porsche Macan.
Matthias H all those ☝️ vehicles you mention are compact SUV. The Blazer is BIGGER in the midsize SUV category.
I would rather have a Blazer than any of those cars, maybe other than the Macan. The RS's closest competitor is the Ford Edge ST which is a few grand cheaper, but has much less premium materials. I love the contrast stitching on the dash, and the seats.
If they paid $60k all in they got robbed... I hope that included taxes, licensing and a ton of warranties, the top model, fully loaded is under $52k.....

Kenneth Hodge this isnt based off the equinox. Also the 3.6 is a solid engine and while i cant speak for the current gen equinox, the last gen is pretty reliable, pretty quiet inside buy extremely dated once they they went to the new gen

John McGrath infotainment is ok on chevys, interior looks fine, definitely better than a toyota but thats not a hard bar to clear at all. Lada has better interiors than toyota. Definitely weaker engines, they ditched putting the v6 in the equinoxs and that was not the move

Sorry but.. yeah I'd buy one except the price is too much. Way way too much. Sadly I feel strongly that this will fail and not sell. Never seen one on the road, probably never will especially in this RS trim. GM did good with making and designing this vehicle but the target buyer doesn't have 50k+ to spend on it. The reason why is will fail and NOT sell.

It may sticker for 50k, but I bet no one will actually pay that. I'll be waiting for the July 4th ads when thos thing has take 10k off of sticker or lease for 249 per month for 36 months, 10k mi/yr.

Darryl Henry only way this model is $249/ month is with a bit of money down. Not sure what the base blazer starts at but those “July 4th” ads usually have a bunch of fine print.
$50K is the top trim. You can go midrange for under $40k with lots of useful features without overloading it.

I was thinking the same thing i got an 01 2 door 4x4 5 speed with 275xxx and i love it never let me sit still orginal motor and tranny.
@@zGuy-yp6um I have an 01 4 door LT (auto sadly) leveled with 31s and a custom brush guard ect. Has almost 190xxx miles. Put 10k hard miles on it every year and its just as strong as day 1.

@@cameronf2758 Unfortunately chevy thought it was a good idea to only put autos in the four doors for some reason ive actually wanted to get a 4 door and 5 speed swap it for awhile now just dont have the funds and you still got plenty of life in that motor i bought my blazer with 180xxx on it about 5 years ago and i dont baby it at all its a five speed its not meant to be babied.

Street Speed another great video. You saw what I did in the Chevy Blazer RS. I was debating for a few months last summer on what SUV to buy. I looked at Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Range Rover Discovery, Lexus, Kia, and Hyundai. Then I came across the Chevy Blazer RS AWD. I watched many TH-cam videos most of which were bashing it on looks and price or how it wasn't a true K5 offroad. After a while I noticed a common theme presented itself. All the comments that were unfavorable were written by people who had NO first hand experience of what the new Blazer RS truly was. So I decided schedule to test drive one with my local Chevy dealer so I could decide for myself. When I arrived at the dealer I was shocked how nice it actually looks in person. When I took the test drive I was equally impressed with the ride quality, handling, and acceleration. As soon as I was done I knew I wanted one. So bought a Cajun Red RS AWD with the wheels and sunroof package. Best decision I made. It's a solid quality built vehicle. GREAT daily driver and we had our first snow in mid November and it handles like a CHAMP!!!
So to the individuals on the fence about buying a new Chevy Blazer that are discouraged by the naysayers do not listen to them. Don't even listen to me. Just go and test drive one for yourself and make your own decision.

That interior is very similar to my camaro, which has been my favorite interior layout of any car. Very simple looking, yet stylish. The climate controls being the ring around the vent is awesome as it removes some buttons from the dash.

I love my RS, it's all black on black😍 I get lots of compliments on it! This will be my 1st year driving it in the snow, so we shall see how it handles.
Now I am so ready for the Bronco to come out now and see how it compares to the blazer I think the bronco will look better and be more offroad centered

I only see these parked in the back of dealerships. Never on the road. They suddenly all dissapeared, probably parked in unsold car lots. I like the older blazers of the 2000’s with the column shifter and high up boxy look.

This is a great vehicle, the people saying things about how it sucks for off-road or that it's only front wheel drive are just hating that Chevy no matter what always comes on top of Ford or Dodge which are pretty much the only competition that Chevrolet has here in America, Chevrolet is just trying to compete with the real thing, like Porsche, Lexus, BMW and so on, that's why it looks the way it looks and let's be real, half of you guys saying or talking about off-road don't even go off-roading on The Daily, because of the high price and the way this vehicle performs on the street, this vehicle is obviously made for people that live in the city that's why it's so expensive, I myself would probably not buy one of these nor feel the need to that's why I own a pickup truck but at the end of the day this is a great SUV I have seen them in person I drove one and it runs really smooth but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I give the Edge a step above Chevy simply because it has soft touch door panels.

I agree with what you said in this video except for one thing. You said they didn't build another crossover and slap the Blazer name on it but that's exactly what they did. They built it based on existing GMC and Buick vehicles and called it a Blazer. Yes, I believe they made it the best crossover SUV they have, maybe one of the best on the market. I just wish they had chosen a new name for it. Now let's see if Ford can get the Bronco right or if it will also be an insult to an iconic name.

I actually really dig it, more so than i was expecting before clicking on this vid. I currently daily a 2007 Trailblazer SS and although i love it, its getting old and has almost 180k miles. Too bad they dont make the new blazer in a SS package with the LT1. That would be super sick.

I had a Traverse rental for about a week. I've always been a car guy, but I really liked the driving position and the amenities. Maybe I'm just getting older, but a nicer ride also really helped. So I looked up what they we selling for and then I saw that Chevy released THIS car. It might have to be my next car purchase.

Totally needed another crossover on the road.
The Wrangler is selling, the Raptor is selling, the Defender and the Bronco return to the US in a few years and GM decides nah we are going to waste the one nameplate they have that could compete in that space with existing name recognition on something else. It's a bit short sighted. That said, they could always go with a "K5" options package because face it the base Wrangler is a joke, the base F-150 doesn't even look like the Raptor, Land Rovers are known in the US for their luxury models, so there is room for GM to make their "off-road" machine competition a trim package and I think the body styling would look good with a bit of a lift and bigger meats but part of me also thinks perhaps it was designed with too low a ride height in mind for that to work as well as they would need it to, as looking at the Wrangler and F series again both are still a bit higher to begin with before going to the off-road trim.
I guess time will tell the tale.

VNAO Virtual Naval Air Operations not it’s not rough terrain ready, but even older blazers weren’t off-road beasts from the factory, lift kits will come out and more off-road appropriate bumpers and other things will come out given time, it’s 2019 and it’s hard to match everyone’s needs. Most people want a reliable, fuel efficient suv and then of course there’s the market for the heavy off-roaders but you can have both, and originally the blazer was more meant for the everyday man and not the off-road junkie. So give it time and see what happens

We have the silver Lexus crossover SUV from the first John Wick in our collection. People say, why is that an important car, just because it was in the movie? No because it is what every manufacturer now makes a version of. Everywhere you look, it is clones of Lexus RXs. They were the first and the best at it.

The new bronco has not been released yet but there is a teaser that shows a tarp over a boxy SUV and it’s rumored to have the V6 ecoboost like the raptor and it will compete against the Jeep Wrangler and the 4Runner
