    I would just like to mention a small thing, while the x56 looks better and has more metal (looks more premium) its actually quite worse for the money, I absolutely recommend looking into more reviews rather than taking this exact advice as the x56 still has lots of issues... idk everything who owned both says the t16000m is a much better option than the x56 lol

      A year late here but i have an x55 and when a buddy got the 16000 i noticed that the Throttle of the X55/56 is a lot better, however the stick on the 16000 felt so much nicer. No springy center and it has a far bit more deflection, was really surprised by how nice that stick felt, a bit light but so smooth

    Been 2 weeks now with the 1600m,I fly on p3d Love the fact that is ambidextrous so I can be the fo and captain in an airbus
    Really recommend the Fcs flight pack
    trust me a rudder is a bliss during crosswind landings and a must if you are looking to fly commercially . Way better alternative than the thrustmaster tca officer pack airbus edition .

    I got the throttle ball-bearing mod off of Etsy, it's awesome. However, I have had the Stick for a couple years now and dealt with the twist sensor issue several times. I don't use them that much overall, but the twist acts up in cases of regular use (playing something hard for several weeks/months). I would take it apart, alcohol clean and oil it to get it to work again.

  • @No1sonuk
    @No1sonuk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I had a T16000 FCS until the yaw sensor failed. It went back under warranty and I got the Warthog throttle and stick.
    I
    had the linear bearings mod on my throttle for removal of the sticktion.
    I LOVE the Warthog for DCS, but I'm seriously considering getting another T16000 FCS for Elite Dangerous -I think the setup is easier to handle.
    BTW, I have the replacement slew sensor in my Warthog, so it's like the T16000's.

    I've been playing Star Citizen for 5 years now with mouse/keyboard and I'm looking to finally get a HOTAS. I keep hearing conflicting reviews of the T16000M and the X56. One person says the TM is better build quality. Another says the opposite. One says the buttons on the TM feel cheaper than the X56, and another says the opposite.
    Org mates keep saying just get a VKB Gladiator, but I don't think they do a HOTAS and I don't want dual sticks. Can you mis-match a VKB joystick with a TM throttle? Does that work? Or does it cause compatibility/setup issues?
    I'm holding off on making an impulsive purchase. I generally don't do a lot of combat flying. So I don't need something for elite pilots, so I'd rather not spend the money if I don't have to.
    If I could get some advice I'd appreciate it.

    My Thrustmaster throttle packed up shortly after it was delivered. I now depend on the joystick slider. Mercifully, the rudders - which can’t be used without the throttle if the latter is dead - can be connected using a converter connect. And that’s how I survive with the Thrustmaster.

  • @sumodeluxe
    @sumodeluxe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You can fix the Rudder jitter by taking some Rubbing alcohol on a que-tip and dabbing it into the area. (make sure the USB is not connected) In my case, I would dab some of the alcohol then move the unit back and forth. Dabbing all around the paddle axis to get the sensor in there cleaned of debris. There is also a video on youtube to clean the twist issue that plagues the joystick. I was able to bring my malfunctioning throttle and joystick back to life after about 5 years of use.

Love this hotas but at today's inflated prices it is harder to recommend as the price difference starts to shrink between this and some of the higher end hotas sets. I'm just happy I picked them up at $99 and I hope prices soon drop back down to normal .

    @01:45, you can adjust the analogue axis response curves in TARGET to give you super responsive center for fine movement. Game specific profiles can be saved too meaning you won't have to repeat a calibration each time you play a different game.
    Can also increase the throttle paddle deadzone to remove jitter.

      I’m pretty frustrated with Thrustmaster. Just had my third T16000M joystick fail for the same reason within a couple months after the warranty expires. They all failed for the same reason. The twist or yaw axis failed. My most recent one failed at about the 15 month pint after purchase. The other two about the same. I’d like to know if this one or any others lasted longer. If you do a search you will find this is a common problem with all their joysticks that twist for yaw. It really is a shame because up to the point they all failed, they were awesome. Probably the best out there. You might wonder why I bought a third after two failed. Honestly I was hoping to get a fluke yin’s that might last longer I didn’t, I only use my joystick for flight sims and a. A light to moderate user. I waited 45 minutes yesterday to talk to their tech support. They said there was noting they could do and not really interested in what I had to say. Once again up to the point they fail, they are awesome. There are several videos how to fix the problem. I’m going to try and fix the one that just failed but do not have high hopes. If you are considering anything Thrustmaster, buyer beware. It appears the T16000 is the same design packaged here with a throttle.

    Bro, thx for the review. Still i have a question...
    On Star Citizen...
    How did you solve this issue regarding the Speed Limiter on the Hotas? Via a Deadzone? To me its impossible, because the Hotas is full front/fullback... We don't have a Center position, right? Hand to put the Hotas manually to the center omg this is terrible... Its so annoying when i need the Trusters only, but when placing the Speed Limiter to a level, my vessel starts to moves forward or backwards. Hopefully there is a solution :-)

      So you're not using the Hotas at all? Dual stick only? If it is, that's a shame, because I like to use them both.
      So, after all to play Star Citizen in the verse, we can't use the "Hotas" of the T16000m FCS because the Hotas can't be set into the center, right? Hmmmm, this means to me to solve this issue, to just set the T16000m FCS Hotas asside, and buy me a X56 or a Virpil type of Stick & Hotas, because I like to fly with the Hotas only like it is when flying in a real jet of gunship real. Pretty a shame but it is how it is

    I've had mine for about 2 years. It doesn't get daily play. Maybe a few times a month. Casual flight sim here. After about 6 months I noticed the light on the joystick would be lit even when I wasn't using it. Then I started noticing my plane was drifting ever so slowly nose down. Had to learn about dead zones to fix that in game but the stick is still messed up. The throttle sticks exactly like the video says otherwise it's a great throttle. If you can afford something better I would recommend something else.

      The throttle sticking before moving is potentially caused by the torque created between moving part and the base. This propably due to the stick being moved on a straight path rather then a circular path, causing a jam until you get from strong static friction (jam) to a much lower sliding friction (proper function).
      Long story short: while pushing the throttle up, could you try to create a small torque (pulling the finger side of the stick up, resp. pushing the palm side of the stick down)? It's for science :)

    My 2cts.: Throttle has excellent usability, especially the analog stick and placement for index finger is just perfect. Biggest issue with the throttle is the sticky rail system though.
    Joystick has durable plastic and good sensor (same as TM Warthog btw), but has IMO way to less controls on the stick itself (just 1 coolie hat and 4 buttons). Cheers!

    100% agree with Blu! I absolutely love my T16000M -- for the price it is unbeatable and has been incredibly reliable for myself. I've had mine for probably about the same time as Blu and have had zero issues with it. I will agree with the sticky-ness of the throttle, however with a little maintenance using Nyogel 767A lubricant it works better than ever. I'll go as far to say I prefer it over my Thrustmaster Warthog, that sits quietly in the box in my closet. Probably will get some eye rolls but after learning and becoming comfortable with the T16000 it is extremely hard for me to transition to another setup. Regardless I know I'll be utilizing the T16000M until she decides to give up on me. Any new simmers; this is hands down the best bang for your buck you can get on the market.

    It's a great setup at its original retail price, but at the current markups? I'm pretty sure I'd go for a Gladiator NXT for a stick right now, since it's either the same price or cheaper(!) for higher quality. The "basic" TECS throttle VKB has coming out will probably beat out the TWCS at marked-up prices when it's available, for similar reasons. *IF* the prices on Thrustmaster gear ever come back down to earth -- i.e. $120 for the stick and throttle combo -- then I'd have no hesitation in recommending them again as the best entry-level options.
    I'm in the same situation as you regarding the T16000 stick twist, BTW. I've seen the reports of problems, but mine is still solid after years of use. The rudder paddle on my throttle did start twitching on me a little while ago, though. Technically, it's solvable with a deadzone, but I just got myself a set of rudders instead.

    • @BluGames
      @BluGames  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @etogreentjjoris8879
      @etogreentjjoris8879 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gladiator NXT's is definitely the best bang for your buck. I started out with T16000's, then they broke so I bought new ones, then when they broke again, so I upgraded to CH products. Then when I decided to take my sticks more seriously I got VKB Gunfighter MK. 3's. If you want actual quality don't bother with thrustmaster toys, get VKB or virpil.

    • @guillaumepare9651
      @guillaumepare9651 ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem with VKB is the cost of shipping (and maybe custom fees). As of today, there's a special on the whole T1.16000m set (3 pieces) for 250 $cdn. I can only get a VKB gladiator with basic grip for the same amouns of money when I factor in the shipping. I think shipping is much cheaper in Europe but not in NA.

    Protip: If the throttle gets a bit sticky, you can apply WD40 to the base where the "slides" are (or whatever they are called, English is not my mother tongue, sorry). Did it about a year ago, mostly playing Elite: Dangerous and SW: Squadrons, about 400 hours played later it still works like a charm. I'd even recommend it right out of the factory. Just a little bit. And you can use the slides themselves to "work it in".
    Ah, yeah the twisting sensors on the flight stick have a habit of wearing off, it is a manufacturing thing, so it comes up sooner or later in all of them, so I do recommend to use the rudder bars on the throttle instead.

      @@BluGames After just one session, I thought I give you my views so far. Well, 1 it is a lot better than the standard controller. I did find that you need very little movement of the joystick to make changes to the aircraft. I also noticed the exact same thing with the throttle, that it does stick in places as you try to increase speed, which on a Cesna was not too much of a problem. I am using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. I found that the rudders are not defaulted to the rudder controls on the throttle unit, but are on the joystick, using the twist function. The resistance on the joystick when climbing is about right. The various buttons is a nice touch, just trying to remember what does what is going to take time. There is though one issue, that you did bring up in your video. Yes, the joystick can be switched to left handed, but the throttle cannot. If you try and use the throttle in your right hand, it just feels so weird and awkward, especially as there are controls on the right side of the controller. I am right handed, but a lot of the planes the captain sits on the left and uses his/her left hand to steer and right to hand controls of the plane. This maybe a little moan on my part. I would say that in all honesty your review is spot on with this joystick throttle combination. I do like the fact that unlike yoke systems, this does not take up too much room on the desk. I hope this helps others to choose their controller.
