I'm going on the 19th! I can't wait. I heard however, that the F-35 which was scheduled to perform has been grounded?!? Somewhat disappointed about that... still though, should be an amazing show.
You didn't miss anything. The F-35 is more of a "you never see it" jet than a "watch me throw myself around" jet. Only the A model can pull worthwhile G's.

I'd argue that, G-wise, the C variant for the US Navy will pull more on account of it's significantly larger wings and control surfaces.
Wrong. So wrong. The thrust to weight ratio is the highest in the A model. Plus the different models represent the ones they are replacing. F-16 does 9 g's, F-35A does 9 G's. Harrier does 7 g's and so does the F-35B. F/A-18 does 7.5 g's and so does the F-35C. The A model is more suited to aerial combat(need more g's). The B model is more suited for ground attack (need less g's). And the C model is a cross between the 2 (more g's than B but less than A).

His name's Steve Schmidt. He's Boeing chief test pilot and there primary demo pilot.

Interesting. It lost to the F16 about 40 years ago, and now it is a possible F16 replacement!
Just to mention that it's a F/A-18 "SUPER Hornet" et not the old F/A-18 "Hornet" that first flew in the late 70's. Although very similar to the "Hornet", the "Super Hornet" is a totally different aircraft: 33% bigger, more powerful and advanced, it initially has been designed to replace the F-14 Tomcat
Very nice high AOA maneuvering, didn't know she had it in her. Still, I don't see any good acceleration, which is what all the 5th gens have in spades.

The F-18 first flew in the 1970's. It was put in service in 1983.

I really hate when airshow announcers don't have notes to describe any of the details of the aircraft performing. Very unprofessional.
commentator is terrible
Far better than at American airshows, where the commentator sounds as though he's reading from a comic book, and his commentary is accompanied by overbearing series of scratchy, grating 1980s "music" from AC/DC and Gunz 'n Roses.
