Considering the Hornet has no TVN, and taking into account that this jet is 70s technology ( it may b refurbished with newer components but it's still a grandpa jet) it amazes me that it's still agile enough to dogfight newer, more advanced jets.
How many fighters carry a load of weapons during an airshow. Nice job.
If they had flown at this show in a 100% clean configuration, the maneuvers would be so much more crisp. Remove the pylons and everything like the Typhoons do at Red Flag exercises of which as of this year, 2015 all planes have to be loaded as if they were going into a real battle, no more stripping down your Typhoons
I think those are the GE F414 or 424? enhanced engines that pump out 28,000lbs each in that tiny package which are shorter, smaller in diameter while weighing less than the Typhoons engines that put out over 5000lbs thrust more per engine! By far the most reliable engine needing less than half the maintenance hours than the next best engine the P&W F119 (38,640lbst each)
@jjs4you2 this is a product demo if I'm not mistaken flown by a test pilot. It's purpose is to show what it can do pushed to it's limits with a standard load.

he's not wrong funnily enough. It was designed to be low observable with a reduced fcs on radar.
As far as fighter aircraft in the US designed with stealth in mind it was the first to enter service.
Not bad for a plane designed almost 40 years ago.
StereoSpace This is a totally different plane than the F-18A/B/C/D Legacy, 97% new with only 3% of the old.

A typical carrier landing. They have heavier duty landing gear for that purpose.
Just like 3 wheels landing on aircraft carrier (thats why they have reinforced landing gears)
