"On the flight, I couldn't decide if I wanted to sleep or stay awake, so I took some sleeping pills and chugged a 5 hour energy and just let them battle it out in my system"
Really enjoyed, brings back memories of my Iceland trip. So, imagine you’re driving the Ring road in one of those RV’s. Remember how narrow the roads were, mostly without a shoulder and you’re thinking, man,if I go off the road its going to be quite the ride.... Driving down the road at about 80 km/h and BOOM! Crap, I got a flat..? And just so happen to be coasting up to a pull off. Good. Get out and take a look. I’m missing a WHEEL! Gulp. That was a closer call than I thought. Call the RV place and they dispatch a mechanic and we get to meet the only man in Iceland that doesn’t speak english. Cobbles together a repair (we found the wheel in a field behind us) but we spend the night in a hotel parking lot waiting for the new RV to be brought to us. Have the best meal ever in the attached restaurant. Had smoked salmon starter that the owner smoked in the yard behind his house and the most ridiculously good hamburger I can remember. Carry on.
Holy shit this feature length documentary is the perfect way to spend my Saturday morning. Also despite your sins on digital, you shot on the sacred Contax T2. Your sins are forgiven.
Love that you use different shutter sounds for your digital and film shots. Little details on top of your great humor and personality make this channel one of my favorites 🤙
The bird sculpture is part of Todd McGrain's Lost Bird Project. He placed a bird sculpture in my hometown of Elmira NY. The placement of his sculptures mark the last know place the particular bird had been sighted before it's extinction.
What. A. Video. Not a single second that wasn't funny, inspiring, or just straight up chill. The 51 people who disliked the video probably thought it was too short! Keep it up, we love these series!
This is one of the best youtube travel photography videos I've seen, and i watch a LOT of these channels. The vibe is relaxed, you humor is on point, and the mix of video and stills is excellent.
This has to now be one of my favourite phtography videos on youtube. A blissful hour of a stunning place, your amazing photography and as always hilarious outlook on it all. Thanks Jason !
I think I finally understood why your channel is so attractive besides your rugged good looks and quality photos. You are very original with your content and who you are. Your'e just deciding to take us on a ride with the unique places you stumble upon. No special guest needed, just a cool guy with a camera. Don't lose that uniqueness!
Thank you for this long-ass video. I visited Iceland just some weeks ago and it was really nice to see it again. Took me back to my holidays really fast!
My grandfather owns with his brothers the land that the super blue waterfall is on (and the waterfall) and your videos make me miss them a lot. As this waterfall has gained a lot of attention in the last few years I get a very strange feeling watching all these TH-camrs walking in "my" backyard. Anyway, love your videos as always man
I LOVE this video! I have been shooting for 40 years and it is about the talent, the way the photographer see the world NOT to camera. You work is absolutely FIRE!
12:47 - I keep coming back to this video to find my favorite part, because it is my FAVORITE photography video. No one seems to know where they're going or what they're doing, but the little "just do it" motion from the guy in the blue before you head in is amazing.
Never a dull moment in your videos. Dark humor and a travel vlog all rolled into one? Yes, please. Also, loved how you did the ring twice. As someone who's never been to Iceland, it really helped perspectivize your itinerary and commit those places to memory as a viewer.
I like all your videos, and after avoiding the super long ones, now prefer them. This one is by far my favorite now though. Hoping you go back, and if you do, solicit a few rolls from us, cause Sony is for blu-ray.
I love the colours in your imagery. I know you're film focused and I won't ask for presets or anything, but I wanted to say thank you for inspiring a new take on some of my photography. Also, your humour (two Canadian identifiers in one comment) is spot on.
I love your post processing on your photos...as well as the comparison of film vs digital. One of the best videos on Iceland travels out there! I went last January. Must go now in September!
Was just there in July... out of all the vlogs I've seen of Iceland, you captured the most realistic picture. It's the closest of how it truly is there, but with a twist of nostalgia. Really enjoyed watching you video.
The best photographers video on Iceland, the overrun paradise as your Contax images tell/show a different/better story. Thank you for investing your time for us. Stuart
Just started filming here in Iceland few months ago and there are so many amazing locations. And the coolest part is that they look so different each season!
Hot damn! We must have just missed each other. I was there 9/12-9/17. Your film shots are making me even more anxious to get my scans back! Nice work as always man. 🤙🏻
I always wanted more of ur videos, but I didn't expect it to be an hour long. Wait I'll bring my coffee mug nd get blessings from the film camera gods and continue watching.
Wish I was into film when I went to Iceland. It's such an otherworldly place that just begs to be photographed. Great video 👍 This video brings me right back to my trip. Thankyou!!
One of those occasions where I feel jealous as well as overjoyed watching watching 3 weeks spent in that place crammed in a one-hour video. Really great work, thanks for taking the time sharing your trip and meticulously crafting this video.
Can we all take time to appreciate the attention to detail for the shutter sound of each pic, how he differentiates the digital shutter sound from the film shutter sound! Great video man, I enjoyed every second!
you got me with the Doritos observation :') I also miss Cool American dearly! your writing is hilariöööss and your editing & photography is phenomenal. the 2.25% beer is also the most classic tourist mistake you can make and you fell for it coming over for the second time! 😂 you've made yet another Icelander living abroad homesick! watching this was an hour well spent 👌 mad props dude
It's June in Tennessee and I'm looking for ice and cloudy skies to shoot, ha! Thanks for stoking the internal flames of my photo passion furnace! Great little docu-journey!
Oh I have to check your great travel photo again under this covid situation to breath. Iceland looks so beautiful but I do understand that my gear need water proof grade. Thank you for your vid. Let me know when you have a chance to come to Japan... maybe in several years later.
I never thought I'd watch a one hour video from start to finish but I didn't even notice how the time passed. Please keep making amazing content like this, the pictures are gorgeous.
@grainydays ... This is by far the best of your videos .... Iceland is on my to do list. New Zealand has been done several times (Rotorua is best for your sulfur loving nostrils), and I've just returned from a quick trip to Norway and I'll definitely return there. Loved your shots, and the video so much.
Well we’re 17 days in and I’m going to call it.... the best channel I’ve found in 2020... it all started with you 44-2 video for me and now after an hour of this... you win! I know you probably hate answering these kind of questions but could you list your digital kit? I saw a 70-200 and a 24 possibly maybe also a 50? I just travelled Bali with a 24 and a 105. Schizophrenic I know! Hahaha
I came from Iceland five months ago .. I thought it's was beautiful but when I have seen your video I discovered that it's the most beautiful .. I am going to visit it again .. thank you
The Ooigawa railway goes over a kind of horseshoe river bend like that in Shizuoka, Japan. And apparently the railway is a rare type called "rack rail" that can go up steeper grades.
A one hour Iceland extravaganza I am so pumped
You are always pumped. lol
I have always wanted to go to iceland, maybe live there, you make me want it even more after this
Can we all appreciate how with each photo he includes the background scenery noise? It makes the presentation 10000% awesome
likewise in my vids, check them out
"On the flight, I couldn't decide if I wanted to sleep or stay awake, so I took some sleeping pills and chugged a 5 hour energy and just let them battle it out in my system"
Greatest moment of commentary of the entire hour
This is the way lol
American looks at waterfalls and struggles with names for 1 hour.

An hour video - daring to go where no man in the incredibly niche film community on TH-cam has dared to go before. Legend.
Holy shit this feature length documentary is the perfect way to spend my Saturday morning.
Also despite your sins on digital, you shot on the sacred Contax T2. Your sins are forgiven.
hahaha
Love that you use different shutter sounds for your digital and film shots. Little details on top of your great humor and personality make this channel one of my favorites 🤙
I'm 13 minutes in and just realized this is an hour long. This is amazing. Actually amazing.
Me too, man
we're so used to see those 10-15min short, condensed youtube videos that when we see an hour long film like this we get all HYPED.
Douglas what are you doing here hahaha
One of the rare times I'm not complaining that a video is one hour.
Perfect to watch on a 405 commute
@@fabiodoublebroad5389 especially when you're the driver
How did I get here when the video had no views.
Edit: just finished watching the video and this has to be one of the best videos I’ve ever watched

I've watched this 3 times now, you have successfully taken up 3 hours of my life and I've enjoyed every second.
“We had truly unlocked a real life side quest.”😂 These side quests are truly one of the most memorable aspects of travel.🤘
What. A. Video. Not a single second that wasn't funny, inspiring, or just straight up chill. The 51 people who disliked the video probably thought it was too short! Keep it up, we love these series!
Your totally deadpan delivery of every single line is sending me right now, 4 minutes in and I'm subbed. Bless your soul
Helping with my extreme homesickness as an Icelander living abroad. Cant believe I lived there for 20 years and never tried that smoothie...
This is one of the best youtube travel photography videos I've seen, and i watch a LOT of these channels. The vibe is relaxed, you humor is on point, and the mix of video and stills is excellent.

I come here to admire how good this dude is at photography and how i know nothing about using film cameras...
Thank you for this long-ass video. I visited Iceland just some weeks ago and it was really nice to see it again. Took me back to my holidays really fast!
The drop bears in Australia will totally mess you up. That Aussie bar tender has legit bear phobia. Amazing video. Love the long format.

Your deadpan humor slays and your photos are dope. I’m a fan
The digital shots are downright gorgeous!! Lee filter FTW! Probably my new favorite video
The best laid-back Iceland travel vlog I have ever watched!!!! Makes me wanna teleport to Iceland right now!
I like all your videos, and after avoiding the super long ones, now prefer them. This one is by far my favorite now though. Hoping you go back, and if you do, solicit a few rolls from us, cause Sony is for blu-ray.
Your videos are always top notch, but this is one of my faves! Definitely convinced me to go back to Iceland :D
I love the colours in your imagery. I know you're film focused and I won't ask for presets or anything, but I wanted to say thank you for inspiring a new take on some of my photography. Also, your humour (two Canadian identifiers in one comment) is spot on.

“It should be called the Land of sheep, they’re everywhere”
*montage of non sheep pics* 😂
Also I think that title is already claimed by New Zealand 😃
the simulation of blue lagoon >>>

Finally had some time to sit down and watch this one!! loved it!!
The best photographers video on Iceland, the overrun paradise as your Contax images tell/show a different/better story. Thank you for investing your time for us. Stuart
Been to Iceland several times; Fall, Winter, and Summer. You've captured it nicely. Really enjoyed it. Thanks!
I'm so glad I found your channel man. I didn't know film could be so beautiful, so serene. Love this.
Wait... one hour... yeah let’s get some popcorn ready.
Just started filming here in Iceland few months ago and there are so many amazing locations. And the coolest part is that they look so different each season!
just wanted to say I really appreciate the effort you put into making this.
The opening scene of "Prometheus" was actually shot at "steroid falls " too!
Amazing. Love that this is an hour long. My man, glad you had fun dude.
I’m from Iceland and I’m happy to live here :)
You live in a very beautiful country!
grainydays thank you, it’s very beautiful and I think you’ve portrayed it well :))
You are awesome.
An hour? I’m gonna have to circle back to this in a bit. 🤙🏻
Hot damn! We must have just missed each other. I was there 9/12-9/17. Your film shots are making me even more anxious to get my scans back! Nice work as always man. 🤙🏻
The best and most comprehensive Iceland video on TH-cam! Well done man!
I've been waiting for this post! Thank you and please keep posting.
Amazing video! Loved the composition of all the shots, definitely inspires me to focus on composition more when I shoot. Keep doing what you're doing!
dude, amazing work! I have watched the whole thing, mad respect for the effort it took to make this. Also, so many great photos!
some amazing photos, and great humour, as always
I haven't even seen your work yet, but I subscribed immediately because I think you're my spirit animal.
The fact you used two different shutter/advance sounds for the film photos and DSLR photos is so pleasing
I always wanted more of ur videos, but I didn't expect it to be an hour long.
Wait I'll bring my coffee mug nd get blessings from the film camera gods and continue watching.
Wish I was into film when I went to Iceland. It's such an otherworldly place that just begs to be photographed. Great video 👍
This video brings me right back to my trip. Thankyou!!
I bloody love your deadpan delivery with an excellent sense of humour - your gritty photos are half bad either
Fantastic vid man! And the difference between the sony shutter firing and the contax firing is subtle but sublime.
One of those occasions where I feel jealous as well as overjoyed watching watching 3 weeks spent in that place crammed in a one-hour video. Really great work, thanks for taking the time sharing your trip and meticulously crafting this video.
Your soo painfully awkward, love it! great video man. I cant wait to go to Iceland next year
Beautyful! One of the best Phototgraphy chanels there is!
I did it. I've finally trudged through every video on your channel.
Fantastic work all around. Keep it up!
Can we all take time to appreciate the attention to detail for the shutter sound of each pic, how he differentiates the digital shutter sound from the film shutter sound! Great video man, I enjoyed every second!
Great video and photos..... but Matt McConaughey would be pissed that you expected to see Matt Damon (who was not in 'Interstellar'!😂🤦🏼♂)
First I was like, THIS IS AN HOUR? Then it ended and I was like, THIS IS ONLY AN HOUR? Just got back from the 4th trip and already feeling the pain.
Thought my phone had glitched when it said an hour. It hadn't, and I felt blessed. Glad to see overall you had fun 💕
I love the sound design you used! Great little details! This is getting me so excited for my trip in July!
One hour of awesomeness!!
Fall Falls looked like that opening scene in Prometheus.
That's where they shot it!
Yup it is. In that perspective too!
"Get George from Negative Feedback to notice me" - This needs to happen. I feel like you might cause his left eye to twitch or something like that.
I went here and it’s bringing back so many memories!
First time getting a Saturday off work in weeks, I was meant to have a productive morning but you dropped an hour long gem!
you got me with the Doritos observation :') I also miss Cool American dearly!
your writing is hilariöööss and your editing & photography is phenomenal.
the 2.25% beer is also the most classic tourist mistake you can make and you fell for it coming over for the second time! 😂

watching this was an hour well spent 👌 mad props dude
First video of yours I’ve watched is this one hour one and I very much enjoyed it, thank you omg
This is the best photography/travel film I’ve ever watched in my pathetic 25 years on earth
I just found this channel and I love it. It's like watching Kipp from Napoleon Dynamite give commentary on a photography trip.
It's June in Tennessee and I'm looking for ice and cloudy skies to shoot, ha! Thanks for stoking the internal flames of my photo passion furnace! Great little docu-journey!
That video is just what I needed - Tickets booked can't leave it on the bucket list after that, thanks Jason!
Oh I have to check your great travel photo again under this covid situation to breath.
Iceland looks so beautiful but I do understand that my gear need water proof grade.
Thank you for your vid.
Let me know when you have a chance to come to Japan... maybe in several years later.
love the pace of your clip, keep it going mate, respect and love from Canton China.
Che spettacolo mamma mia che foto. Great job.
Thanks for changing the shutter sounds. Really helped in knowing what's analog and what's digital
I never thought I'd watch a one hour video from start to finish but I didn't even notice how the time passed. Please keep making amazing content like this, the pictures are gorgeous.

Yep! I have the Sony 70-200mm F4 and the Sigma Art 24mm 1.4. I feel like thats good enough coverage haha
Superb. Love the commentary. Love the style. Pleasure to watch, sir. I thank you. :-)
I love this video! I’ve been to iceland twice now and seeing these photos just makes me emotional because I miss it so much 😩
I came from Iceland five months ago .. I thought it's was beautiful but when I have seen your video I discovered that it's the most beautiful .. I am going to visit it again .. thank you
I come back to this often. A really incredible video.
Your videos are so peaceful and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for making this wonderful content.
The Ooigawa railway goes over a kind of horseshoe river bend like that in Shizuoka, Japan. And apparently the railway is a rare type called "rack rail" that can go up steeper grades.
Just discovered your channel. This video makes me miss Iceland so damn much. I hate you for that, but love you as well.
jesus dude, please never stop making videos and images. I love your channel. Do you have an Instagram?
One of the best videos I've seen about Iceland! Loved your point of view and photographer's eye on the country!
Thank you. I just found this video and just play it overtime because its 1 hour and its fun to watch. Good photo!
Some stunning shots
