Mazda 3 - replace brake fluid with just a wrench

  • In this video, I show one of the easiest ways to flush your brake fluid on any car. The car in this video is a 2018 Mazda 3, but the procedure applies to any car. There are multiple ways to flush the brake fluid including but not limited to pressure bleeding, vacuum bleeding (I have a video here for that method at • One Man Mercedes Brake... ), gravity bleeding, and the method in this video. You will hardly need any tools save a couple of small wrenches to open and close the bleeder valves, a clear rubber hose that fits the valve, a bottle to collect the old fluid, and perhaps a turkey baster to remove some of the old fluid from the tank. You will need an assistant that would press on the brake pedal or release it as instructed. Consult your owner's manual to determine exactly which brake fluid type you need. Keep an eye on the fluid level in the brake reservoir and replenish it as it gets to the MIN level. You could purchase an auto filler for a few bucks so you won't have to worry about that aspect of the job but it is not necessary - just convenient. Search Google or Harbor Freight for "Brake Bleeder with Auto Refill kit".

Whys my 08 mazda 3 reservoir completely block you from siphoning, can't use this method, can't even stick the smallest of dipstick hoses into it

Look for a little cap that is the same color as that of the reservoir inside the mouth of the reservoir...it is designed to filter out debries when refilling....remove it.

Why did air keep coming out of that first one after bleeding it so many times

Also are there any special considerations for ABS vehicles? Do we have to remove the ABS fuse and such

Hi, it is not air coming out of the caliper. When the bleeder bolt is closed, you are seeing the fluid recede.

After hearing " press & release" 200 times in 30 minutes, I'm buying MOTIVE Power Bleader, so I don't hear "press & release" ever again!!!

Hi Aleks, I have another video too showing the vacuum method. I wanted to capture it all since there are videos out there which may be misleading and not presenting the entire story. Apparently, it worked since you know that is not something you would undertake. I made this video specifically for those who don't wish to buy other tools. Thanks for the feedback.
