Many txs for the vid. Should be noted that on manual trans cars the clutch hydraulics are operated by brake fluid, so bleed your brakes once in awhile. Note that I am not saying to put brake fluid In your transmission, rather to replace your brake fluid that operates the clutch as well.

Thanks a bunch for this video! There is a real lack of videos on Mazda's with a manual transmission. I have a 2010 Mazda 6, (6 speed M) and assume mine will be similar. I will drive mine up onto four short 2 X 8 boards so that I can have better access and still keep the car level (otherwise, my big head won't fit under the front bumper!).

Hey man, I know this is an old post... I have the exact same car as you 'well mines a 10' 6MT GT HB, not sure if the same, but surely the same transmission... yes, my car is low to the ground, I already have the redline fluid, just waiting for a warm day to do it.. we're you able to easily get under there and change yours out? My shifts are becoming pretty notchy from 1st to 2nd, want to get this done asap.

Remember to keep an eye on your brake/gear oil level. You can find it at the mid right upper area of the engine bay. You have transaxle transmission fluid which is what this video is about, and you have brake fluid which is also the gear fluid, you can see the level of this oil by popping the hood.
In the maintenance section of your vehicle user manual, transaxle fluid must be replaced and has no indication for inspection since it cannot be. But there is an inspection indication on the gear/brake oil.
