Maybe you're right; Copy That won't become a huge business, but it will be a place where newbie copywriters (that includes myself) come looking for genuine advice
💡 Niche down only if you have a genuine reason, such as prior experience in a specific field or a deep passion for a particular subject. 💡 Don’t limit yourself to a specific niche as a beginner. Be open to different opportunities and gain a breadth of experience. 💡 Avoid picking a niche solely based on the promise of making easy money. It may lead to burnout and disappointment. 💡 Building a diverse portfolio by working on different projects can lead to better opportunities and connections. 💡 Don’t be discouraged by not finding the perfect niche right away. It takes time to discover what you truly enjoy and excel in. 💡 Focus on niching down when working on a specific project or pitching to a company. Show your dedication and expertise in that area. 💡 Embrace a growth mindset and continuously learn and adapt as a copywriter. Flexibility and openness to new opportunities are key.
Many copywriters have different advice when it comes to copywriting niches. Some say don't choose a niche because you are limiting yourself to opportunities. Some say choose a niche and specialize in it. In my opinion, just choose whatever works for you. These influencers are just guides.
That’s such an interesting perspective. I read so many people saying you should choose a niche… and it’s so hard and scary to choose something when you’re just starting. Because if you choose an area that you’re really passionate about, you are closing yourself to everything else. It does sound so limiting, specially if your passion isn’t a big field. PS: I love how Sean can barely say the word “health” 😂
I was about to use my last cash on some course and i made a wonderful mistake running into your discord page. God bless every creator running this channel.
I wish I had found you guys before wasting hundreds of dollars on courses selling the 10K copywriting dream. Thank you guys so much for keeping it real!
Are you talking about Tyson? Something is weird about his Skool masterclass. You have to pay 400 the first time the 99 the recurring months. My guess is he is just trying to milk you of the 400 and make you stay because you would be worried of not letting your money go
Thank you for this video! This was the part that confused me a lot as I kept seeing on reddit "Find a niche for your portfolio" which really frustrated the heck out of me! I had to do a lot of research with ambiguous answers till I found this video! My heart was heavy and now I feel a lot of relief knowing I don't have to be fixated on niche!
Pick a niche that resonates with you, it's easier to work with a field that interests you. If you eat meat and your client is a vegan coach then you'll have a hard a time making a copy for them
None of these videos actually help me understand where to start as someone completely new in this type of industry. The first ever piece of copy i should write would be practice? How many practice pieces do I write. What should my portfolio look like? Is This a physical folder of written ads basically? Once I reach out to clients do I send them this portfolio? What do you mean when u say start off writing email?? What kind of email?? Who am I sending email copy to?? The client?? Or the audience I’m pitching the client to? I’m so confused
This video focuses on a particular question. Obviously a discussion about niching would not include a discussion about practicing, or email marketing, or outreach. We have many other videos that focus on those individual questions. There is not a question you posed that we have not answered elsewhere.
Please answer me if i don't choose a niche 1st of all how can i get client? If I'm utterly rokie on the particular Feild or I'll be pitching clients from all sort of niches and when I'll get reply only when I'll start to dive into the specific things? Please answer me 😢
I was thinking of health and special needs electrons niche. Like if I wanna write about a edu tech or a vitamin ect do I need to call the companies first?
I would like to hear your reasoning for working in-house instead of exclusively freelancing with your level of experience. Maybe the pro's and con's beginner vs your level. I wonder if you would make more money exclusively freelancing. Segway: for your comment on your Copy That success because you don't give easy answers; slower growth but better brand reputation in the end, you are the opposite of gimicky (is that a word?), love the value and authenticity of your content,... So thanks!
We talk about that, in house vs freelance, in two of the previous videos in this series that we've been releasing this week! Check those out and shoot us any questions you have.
There's a difference between being hired to write something and writing a spec piece. If you want to write a sales page for a camera or a health business, you typically want to get hired by them first. But if you just want to practice and write a sample piece for your portfolio? There's nothing stopping you from simply... doing it.
@@CopyThat thank you very much for replying and love your videos. I guess that's where I'm stuck. Like sure I can make a page for my portfolio on a product but I just don't wanna get in trouble. Like with the camera for instance. I can make a page about it with a image but just for my portfolio so does that mean I won't get in trouble cause it's on my portfolio and not on a public page?
Copywriting is in the air and I can't even grab it. Not so simple. It's been one and a half months now since I've been able to move an inch on this path. Have a question though. Is there any niche in the educational field that I can work on? Any advice would be a blessing for me.
Sit down, right now, and write an email selling your favorite book. Revise and edit. Show it to people and ask if it would convince them to read the book. If people say no (or if they say yes but then don't read it) then you know that you need to keep practicing. And yes, educational institutions and businesses need copywriters too.

This channel is literally busting every copywriting myth endorsed by some "expert" earlier on the internet. Couldn't love you more!

I have been thinking the same thing for the last 2 weeks thanks for the advice
I am glad that you guys are direct and candid. There is too much hype surrounding copywriting.

Thank you so much for this, it's so helpful!

Haha right?? Its so much easier to convey genuine, contagious energy when you feel it yourself
After watching both of you, I boosted much courage . Thank you, guys
This is mind opening for me, i thought only go when the money trails. Didn't know there might be someplace to discover.
I love this channel. So truthful. And you are gonna be big
Summary...
If you are niching down you are right
And if you are not! You are also right.
Just do you.
Just gained a sub, also answered another question I had burning
Does this advice also apply to specializing? As in, is it a bad idea to only offer certain types of copy?
You guys nailed it!
This video just saved me a day of research :D
You guys are THE BEST😭❤️
I’m excited to see this video.
thanks. great stuff
The best niche for a beginner is whatever you can write credible copy about.

in the era of confusion about finding niches and I found this video while I was scrolling and I am still confused😅
If I wanna make a sales page on a camera for example, must I call the company? Or service or event? Cause since I'm new I don't have connections.
