This summaries a lot of the content in the 5hour video we watched from the discord. This video was massive educational and so easy to understand and utilize! Amazing video great work!! I will be using this as a resource for a long time.
Proof with historical examples also serves to build a notion of "safety" into your offer. If it's happened before, it's probably going to happen again. This sense of security can be borrowed to not only prove your product does something, but to prove that it's reliable. And psychology tells us that humans place an INORDINATE amount of value on reliability/predictability. In other words: Using historical proof raises the perceived value of the product, along with supporting a claim you've made.
FINALLY I UNDERSTAAND --i think i have watched this video about 5 times and I didn't understand what he was really saying but watching for the 6th time with a thrist of actually wanting to understand... made me understand
Superb content! When I was analyzing sales letters I usually look for emotions evoked and tactics employed like renaming terms to make it interesting/fresh. Thanks for the vid I have now a better structure to breakdown sales letters keep uploading sir!
They give away a lot of good shit for free that's for sure, thats what I love about them....can just imagine what their paid stuff is like... and they make stuff (well this guy specifically) so easy to understand the way they explain and expand on points so clearly..... if I'm stuck on understanding a piece of marketing this is where I come to get clarity
Thank you for the valuable content! Really analyzing how sales letters work has been a task I've been stalling for some time now. This video really clears things up and I feel like I can finally get started!
love the lists edited on the screen showing all at once, easy to pause and note it down. Also, 8:58 waiting to see future offer videos! 9:59 - was it serious about comic sans? haven't seen copy with comic sans... And you seem to have similar music taste as me...
Thank you for this video Sean! Very helpful. The closing song reminds me of a death metal band I went to hear play before, and later on in life buying one of his drum sets.
As cheesy as this may sound, I listen to "To Live Is To Die" when writing copy. And when I get to the "The Death" part (4:28 mark), I usually figure out the best sentence to use in the sales letter.
Sean and I (Luke) are doing weekly sales letter breakdowns now. Next one is going to be on Twitch coming Wednesday. If you want I can drop you a link here so you can join! You'll see how we analyze sales letters live
How I understand is that the "big idea" refers to the main message of the campaign, used to capture the attention of the target audience. But the "underlying idea" refers to the basic principle behind the "big idea". For example: Big Idea: "Discover the Power of SuperJuice!"; Underlying Idea: "Experience the Health Benefits of Freshly Squeezed Fruit Juice." Hopefully you understand it better now:)
Recordings of those streams are available to Patrons. We TRY to stream analyses on twitch.tv/thecopythatshow on wednesdays at 1pm ET--but the rest of July is a little pinched for all of us. If you subscribe to us on twitch, you'll get notifications when we go live.
@@SPMacIntyre thanks man im planning of seeing youse do it live cuz I didn’t understand some of the explanations you said in the vid do you have any books or videos that can help a beginner like me understand how to analyse?
Is it possible for a live section of this? I know the critique Wednesday already exist but I would have loved to have seen your notes after you were done 😅.
Hey Sean, I know you put a lot of effort into this . But I think it would all sink in better if you Atleast put them to use live, because some Of the words you said were unfamiliar and That got me less interested in the rest of The video.😊

Can we hand-write it all?
Thank you for a thorough breakdown of each part, I’ll start this today.
Stephen King listens to AC/DC when he writes.
Nice vid. Pretty informative. I already know some about copy and even knowing that u brought like 5 New things to the table! New sub

Anyone has a better example of big idea -> underlying idea? The one Sean made is a bit confusing to me

- Use comic sans
thank you legend
I need a more detail video about it where you live breakdown a ad or sales letter
We have livestreams where we do that. Click the LIVE tab of our channel page
is this for sales letters only?
I'll start listening to Meshuggah while writing then. 😁
Does David Deutsch have a book where he talks about this dimensionalization thingy?
Whats the difference between The big idea and the underlying idea?
We did a whole video on this distinction: th-cam.com/video/JDUiEphb8Wk/w-d-xo.html
