That and trader quest rewards WERE buffed, treasure chests haven't been buffed in a while. Back in older releases, Treasure Chests were WAY better than anything you could get from trader quests. I had a weird glitch with the drone. it followed me on my vehicle but anytime I got off, it went too high up to interact. Lucky leaving the game and reloading fixed it but I needed the meds in it at the time 😅 reminds me of a Bethesda game
🤔 strange. Have you had your drone go below the ground yet? Ive had that happen in 3 seperate games/maps. Had to use console commands to resest them, because I couldn't use another drone and the first was always missing.

Treasure maps are only worth anything below lvl thirty truly before lvl twenty for a cash influx, not for the weapon or the ammo but for the money early game when money is scarce. And that is only if your lucky enough to find a few before all other means out shine them. So you really only have a few levels when you start a game that a treasure map is worth using.

I personally think treasure maps are good early game, i was playing in a fresh world, not even finding a decent gun yet, i did a treasure map and i got 20k dukes and pretty much bought half the things i needed
I enjoy the fort pois I can pick up mines as well as walk on them and not set them off. Then I walk around the fort, pick up the mines , and set them around the choke points.
hrm, that's weird. certainly not going to argue that maps are worth it now, given you literally just did like 10 and got pretty much nothing, but back in Alpha 20, i was running a custom server with a few friends playing on it and we were able to get 5-6k dukes out of every single one, consistently. I dunno if they changed it with Alpha 21, if difficulty has anything to do with it(we were playing on the easiest difficulty and did the maps in the desert), if skills had anything to do with it(we maxed out the treasure map perk and got as much looting gear/perks/candy as we could), or if we were just plain lucky. I was stockpiling maps on my A21 server(hoping for like 30k dukes out of 10 maps), but now I think i'll just go do them, since their loot is probably gonna be similar to what you showed in your video. Either way, thank you very much for testing maps and showing why you dislike them so much, it was very insightful and informative! Love these series you do, and the effort you put into each and every one of them. I've always liked intellect focused builds, so thanks for showing off what they can really do!
My theory on why some people think the treasure maps are so good is the Ammo and minerals, gold, silver, diamond. In the years that I have spent playing this game, I have found a subset of people, who just can't be bothered to mine. If they did, they would as you say, get far more martial to make ammo. Second, they don't seem to relies that in the process of mining for materials, you find the minerals. I honestly can't think of any other reason personally. I'm sure there are many more reasons though.
i think it's also the lizard brain - if you get lucky and have good RNG once when you are early game and get that 10k dukes drop from a treasure, the idea that treasure maps are usefull sticks with you, regardless if you then get 10 treasures that are shit
Honestly if you go strength then mine, but can be tedious on a build with no strength investment, so on that play though then Scrapping or scavenging can be more lucrative. It's nice there isn't just one way to get resources. And not everyone likes to minmax. But anyone who comments "you should do it this way" misses the point in an open world game.
@@mrhyde2121 I agree with you, there is more than one way to play, there are many and they are valid, all of them. I always scrap, I grab every potted plant I see, especially early game, I stick them in the forge for clay. I hang onto every radiator to put in the forge. I scrap as I go. I also do a lot of mining. There are people though, who choose to play a game with a lot of grind, who dislike grinding. I see it in Ark. Why? I dislike black olives in spaghetti sauce, so I don't put them in my spaghetti sauce.
Treasure maps aren't really worth it to me they're usually like 1k away from me and that's hard to get to early game and mid-late game I'm usually already mining or farming missions
What I'm hearing is that Treasure Maps need serious buffs - maybe along with a loot/crafting rebalance. What do you think about being able to craft level 6 gear instead of it being lootable/rewarded? I'm currently thinking that trader rewards should cap the item level at the tier of quest you've completed.
Hi mr IzPrebuilt, could you make another video with the updated Brawler build? pls. I love your videos, i'm new to 7D2D but am learning so much from you. Keep the good work
I find the advantage to treasure maps are they are quick and easy to do. They are basically buried supply missions with no spawns and better loot. Now, if you nullify those advantages by going out of your way to the most inhospitable biome to travel, just in the hopes that you'll get a little something extra from the game stage boost, then I can see how they'd suck for you. To say that those of us who use them, do so because we suck at clearing POI's is disingenuous. I can go out with an auger and some dynamite, and I can guarantee I'm getting that loot long before you clear an infested clear to get the cache. Given you don't like buried supply missions in general, do you think you might be working off of a bias?
So I've noticed in this series you haven't been using any consumable buffs when mining (Coffee or the candy). Any reason on the why? Not criticizing btw, just more curious because I'm unsure if I missed you saying why in the series.
I notice you're still on A20.0. I saw you make duct tape with only one cloth per roll, and it was nostalgia for me. 20.1 is TEN cloth per roll of duct tape and it sucks rocks. 220 cloth to make one clothing double pocket mod
21.0 and 21.1 yeah. I'm not playing experimental for that reason. If TFP decide that 10 cloth per duct tape is an enjoyable gameplay experience even after testing then it just reinforces everything everyone already knows about them. Hopefully dumb shit like that just wont make it to stable.
Treasure maps are worth it for me since I play the game with delete everything on death, no trader, and less loot. It seems so cheap to have no consequences for death, the trader trivializes the game too much so no trader, and no loot respawn + 75% loot. These three things on insane make the game much more interesting.
No trader? Goddamn you're insane! Lol. Thats like half the game currently. Doing quests for em and gettin rewarded is pretty nice when it isn't crap loot.
When I saw the title of the video I thought you rented a vending machine. There is a long wait before you get your first customer and you have to spend a bit of effort to stock the machine and dukes for rent, but the payoff is bonkers. Like I had 6.5 million dukes after 2 sales. Then the rent ran out and I lost 4 million dukes. More importantly, the entire inventory of stock vanished. But hey, its easy to stock the machine again. Once it started paying off I was going around to 6 traders and buying all the ammo they had in stock, and the vending machines.
The maps are good for dukes the first week, after that, not so much. You can get a lot of dukes early, when you dont have any other good way to get them, but yeah, after the first 7 days, I usually just toss em, unless Ive just had just really shit luck with quest rewards.
You want to search the infested crate but don't take it. Use your wrench and take it apart. You will get steel. Then you will still get the loot that was inside of it. But if you are at this stage of the game you aren't that hard up for steel.
I play Darkness Falls mod normally and you can just stockpile treasure maps and i ended up doing around 20 of them in a one day span (they were all ok my map cause you can accept them all at once) and that was prettu good but vanilla restrictions makes it worse and the rewards are also worse. I ended up getting like 120k dukes wirbout selling anything and a helicopger full of loot invluding mods and qeapons/ammo
Hey there, just discovered you and your videos, love them. Thank you. Question for you since you do all the testing. I know killing zombies drops yellow and blue bags is there a formula for how many you kill to get the bags to drop?
I believe the loot bag percentage drops are effected mainly by world, land, and zombie difficulty level. I don’t think the amount of kills you get effects it as I’ve gotten a bag to drop on one of the first zombies I killed in a high difficulty world and area. It’s just luck based as from what I can see.
Best answer without redundant testing would be that it's completely random, stronger enemies drop blue bags, and horde nights gives you the most as the percentile rate of drops seems increased.
Yeah, seems to be pretty random. Wasteland treasures completion increases the base low chance. Wandering hordes and horde night drop them much more often (its normally 1 or 2 bags from a wandering horde). Yellow bags from most zombies, blue from the 'heavy'-type zombies (cops, bikers, mama, wights, tourists and maybe lumberjacks). Demolishers drop red bags, but only seen those on horde night. What is actually in the bags depends on loot stage, so biome affects that.
Uh I just finished tier 5 on my insane nightmare, i didnt get chem station in my complete rewards i have barely any gas in my minibike (day 11) idk what to do rn do i just level up a new trader for chem bench? Its annoying ughh
Upgrade Salvage Ops in your perks if you have any points to spare. Keep breaking down cars, they'll give you gas. Use the normal bicycle to get around in the meantime.
almost useless tip! if you hit escape at the quest reward screen you can go to the traders inventory to sell some stuff and the next time you talk to them the mission reward will pop back up
Using treasure maps before maxing treasure hunter is a waste of treasure maps. Duke's are easy to get, but I use them to feed my ammo supply and I actually buy very little.
Treasure Maps are copium for casual players who don’t watch content or learn in-depth game knowledge. They’re just noob-traps. But… How would you propose they fix treasure maps for non-casual players without breaking them for casual players? I feel like if you took them out of the ground and made them similar to an infested cache, it would make them better early game. Make them job within a job and have the loot stage be 10 levels higher than the players current stage. Also make them uncommon to get in tier 2-4, rare in tier 1, common in 5, and guaranteed in 6.
when I need clay is when treasure maps are useful. The treasure is just a bonus.
I think the "obsession" is more just that its something to do that isnt monotonous banging on stone/lead/nitrate etc.
And Prebuilt is definitely an expert at the game. Most people aren’t done with the game by day 20 or so.

Had to use console commands to resest them, because I couldn't use another drone and the first was always missing.
you can never have enough money in 7DTD just start throwing them dukes at those zombie strippers and dont tell my mother!
One of my team mates had an airdrop disappear after getting attacked while the loot window was open. Apparently the same works for treasure.
I was in that position so i buy water filters make dew collectors and place them all over the place mostly near poi's that i visit, just dont place them to close to poi's. still have tons of duke.never need a forge. buy , buy, buy.
Unrelated to topic. But reminded when I saw your bike inventory full of 7.62. I REALLY hate that you cant take a stack of bullets and use a craft to put them into the "box of bullets"
Shame there is not a robotic turret that would fire dukes as ammo... 😂
......teeeeechniccallllyyyy... Lol you can if you smelt the dukes into brass then into bullets.
@@stevdor6146 OOOOOOHHH shiii ur right lmao oops haha see, I knew that? So thats whats funny to me so I feel like that's a blonde moment from me. I guess I read the comment and immediately forgot about the "turret" part and was just thinking normal bullets. Yknow had they not removed all the trophies then you coulda had a trophy shooting turret idk I'm trying to validate myself I tink lol
I used to melt down Dukes in the forge for bullet casings. Lol
My first treasure map I ever found gave me 21 k dukes day 4. I like em
hrm, that's weird. certainly not going to argue that maps are worth it now, given you literally just did like 10 and got pretty much nothing, but back in Alpha 20, i was running a custom server with a few friends playing on it and we were able to get 5-6k dukes out of every single one, consistently.
I'm currently thinking that trader rewards should cap the item level at the tier of quest you've completed.
i always enjoy watching you play.) just awesome. Take care
Is the electric baton stronger than steel club (both will have the best mods and all buffs from books and skills)
👍👏I hope you realize I saw someone peeing in that pool earlier....LOL
Hi mr IzPrebuilt, could you make another video with the updated Brawler build? pls. I love your videos, i'm new to 7D2D but am learning so much from you. Keep the good work
It hasnt changed.
Not criticizing btw, just more curious because I'm unsure if I missed you saying why in the series.
can't believe this got multiple likes, atleast 4 people are actually blind.
@@IzPrebuiltWell that would finally give farming a use. Still bad game design though.
My wife and I have two boxes full of dukes from selling excessive car parts, ammo and brass. We don't know what to do with it now :D
you can finally buy one T1 solar cell, assuming you've got a cigar, awesome sauce and all tiers of better barter
I don't bother with the 4x4 anymore as it gets damaged much more easily than the motorcycle and I end up bleeding repair kits for it...
Personally, I don’t care if treasure maps aren’t the best, I just like doing them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hi ¿Could You do a tutorial about the heat of the estations? Please.
I had to squint when you put the lanterns in the base.
Treasure map should contain the possibility of unique item in the game
Treasure maps are great at the start when you have no resources and no way to make ammo for yourself. Same as infection quests.
Can you do a series on District Zero mod? been playing it lately.
How come you sold the lvl 6 nailgun?
try get 6 solar cells to fill ur sunpannels .. 55 k coins each
Hey there, just discovered you and your videos, love them.
What is actually in the bags depends on loot stage, so biome affects that.
that is indeed a bit too much money lol
Uh I just finished tier 5 on my insane nightmare, i didnt get chem station in my complete rewards i have barely any gas in my minibike (day 11) idk what to do rn do i just level up a new trader for chem bench? Its annoying ughh
Upgrade Salvage Ops in your perks if you have any points to spare. Keep breaking down cars, they'll give you gas. Use the normal bicycle to get around in the meantime.
I have lost couple treasure loot may be somekind bug.
almost useless tip! if you hit escape at the quest reward screen you can go to the traders inventory to sell some stuff and the next time you talk to them the mission reward will pop back up
tier 5 infested clear is way better loot if your game stage is above 200
Using treasure maps before maxing treasure hunter is a waste of treasure maps.
Duke's are easy to get, but I use them to feed my ammo supply and I actually buy very little.
Treasure maps used to be the best loot in the game, NOT ANYMORE.
Prebuilt gets to Lucky 13. It is a Thing.
when i went treasure hunting i got a shitload of loot dukes 17000 each chest n loads of ammo
At this rate you would hit a million dukes around 120 days.
Wonder if you could do it faster than that.
In my mind this series is called: Iz is no "CM" Punk! (But I am;)
How do you make an underground base
If paper is such a problem, why don't you quickly axe the end of dungeon loot boxes before you leave, because they are made of paper right?
There's a low-level POI that has those giant paper-rolls.
@@stevdor6146 oh like that is it. I'm British, that stuff doesn't bother us
I think it should be a limit to size of an area you can only have x amount of anything....
I found a 4x4 chassis in a destroyed workshop in 1.0
Treasure Maps are copium for casual players who don’t watch content or learn in-depth game knowledge. They’re just noob-traps.
But…
How would you propose they fix treasure maps for non-casual players without breaking them for casual players?
I feel like if you took them out of the ground and made them similar to an infested cache, it would make them better early game. Make them job within a job and have the loot stage be 10 levels higher than the players current stage. Also make them uncommon to get in tier 2-4, rare in tier 1, common in 5, and guaranteed in 6.
What town do you live in? (In game of course!)
Damn, they take Dukes down in Treasure?
i have no idea how i manage to get at least 10k dukes consistantly from treasure maps on standard settings.
1 month... 98% of goals achieved.
HOW in the world do you think paper is annoying to find...then again you never break down paper pallets nor do you go to the paper mill....ahh well
Awesome
did he have the treasure map skill?
although from my experience it gives more money. but still useless
cool videos
Are that many forges necessary? Don’t get me wrong, it looks cool as hell, but that would be 24/7 screamers.
No Eye Kandy? I know you don't need it... but...
