For me Marty is top of the tree, a shining light across a genre that lost its way many years ago. He's the missing link to the past and we are lucky to have him. Doesn't get the recognition he deserves but really his name should be up there with the best. And that double tele twang with KV is just to die for.
From Lester Flatt to Johnny Cash to France. Marty Stewart one of the best country artist ever. From Bluegrass to Honky Tonk to Country. Marty does it all. His work with Ken Burns on the history of country music is superb.
I don't see a date for this performance, and the legendary Chris Scruggs is working the bass these days (yes, THAT Scruggs !); Handsome Harry and Cousin Kenny are still with the Superlatives. But I saw them perform this past weekend in our small Western North Carolina town, and the difference today reinforces what happens as a band plays together down through the years. Harry and Kenny are incredible, and Marty's only gotten better, but the tightness of a band that develops down through years and years of playing together cannot be understated. This is a good performance, but to see them live today: NO comparison! Thanks for sharing this concert, it's completely refreshing.
@@gc1312 Thanks for that supplying that date, Marty's hair is definitely snow white these days, and from what I understand that was in the earlier period of the Superlatives where they chose to forge their own path musically. As stunningly good as they were back then, seventeen years is ... well, they've more than accomplished their goals. I really appreciate your sharing that concert, and wish you the best over the in France ;)

The answer is in the title at the beginning of the video. The figures in French are the same as in English.

What a shame it was all in English, there was little or no singing by the French audience
