      Country music has gone the way of crappy pop music. The most talented are certainly not the ones getting awards nowadays. Compare any Grammy for recently for Album of the year to Bridge over Trouble Water, Innervisions, Songs in the Key of Life, Joshua Tree or Rumours. Now we have Green Day's Dookie (literally), Taylor Swift. My god.

    I met Marty back around 2005, and have even been to his home in Hendersonville...the home he used to live in beside Johnny Cash. I went there to have him autograph 2 copies of his book of photographs. He was nice, and very accomodating!! He spent time to autograph the books for me, and took time to talk to me, my uncle, and my daughter. He's such genuine, sweet, friendly person. I've seen him around town dozens of times, at gas stations, in Kroger, at the DMV twice, and several other places. I'd see him sitting at red lights, at Wal-Mart, and even saw him a few times at Cracker barrel and other restaurants. he's one of the best in the business, and is in no way cocky or stuck up. I've been a fan for years, but after meeting and talking to him on dozens of occasions, I've grown to respect him as a singer, songwriter, but more importantly, I respect him as a person. All around great guy!!! And just for the record, the 45 people who gave this video a "thumbs-down" are idiots!

      @scrimmerman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@keithrichardscorpse1230 More of the Bluegrass influences were featured here, but if you've ever seen them live, you would know they can do country (REAL country, not that crap on Top 40 Country radio these days) better than anyone. Seen them do a few Surf rock tunes along with some Blues/Rock too. They even can get a little jazzy in some of their instrumentals.

And blending all those elements with a condenser on the snare. And then the vocal blend with the bands skill. Beautiful A work of art and science.

    Marty Stuart's personality illuminates the presence of the crude and refined core of American country. The Superlatives assist Marty on their well trodden trails of legendary musicians, keeping the gears and bearings of the origins of American music well oils and greased to help American music's origins to be mainatined and move justly along with the changing times. They keep Mark Twains steamboat chugging along with new saloon rhythme (Mark Twain Country Music)

      I hope you saw they released a live album from that tour for Record Store Day 2024 a few weeks back. A few can still be found on the RSD Market page. On vinyl but I suspect it is possible it will come out on CD at some point. Regardless, Roger McGuinn has uploaded all the tracks from the album to TH-cam.

    Marty Stuart is the Steve Lukather of country music. Their impacts on their respective genre are similar. Both very well regarded in the studio.

    Old Mexico could be one of the finest songs in Country and western music history. I play this and many of Marty Stuarts' songs to my 8 and 10 year old boys in hopes they will understand how different and special this music is.

    This is refreshing and touches all of us that grew up with gospel at church on sunday and country always in the mix the cross of blue grass gospel meets the blues and country since the truest statement ever is America is the home of that very diversity that gives room for jazz its spim offs and Blues spin into all the musics gamut its America's gift to the world. This is great you feel all those who contributed to it all through out the years
    Its what makes America Great Always! No matter how beat down we become our music is the love that cures what ailes us all its great to have such dedication, love and respect for the tradition it has become. Feeling inspired time to play some 🙄

    He's also fascinating to listen to. He knows more about the country biz than anyone.
