Thanks mate, I'm really pumped about it! I know I got very lucky with this one. You never know, it could happen to you too. The secret sauce is to just check the classifieds from time to time and being quick to spot a deal. I had to travel a bit, but it's worth the petrol money. I literally got it this morning and put the video up straight away. The neck is lush on it, nice and chunky but not a massive baseball bat. This guitar feels like a keeper. I'm totally doing some mods to it! Pups, tuners, the full shebang - full video incoming! Keep rockin'
I was walking home from a night out once and (with slightly blurry vision) saw a headstock sticking out of a wheelie bin. (It must have been collection day the next morning as the street was full of bins). My thought was, well it might be a neck, always good for spares. Anyway, I lifted out a whole Yamaha Pacifica and all it needed was a resolder on the jack socket. I still have it now. Great little budget guitar.
Dude! I saw the finish and knew exactly what this was. I had this exact Westfield LP when I was a kid and I loved it so much. Been looking to find one but struggled near me. It's nice to see one again. Hope you enjoy it mate🤘 *edit* This looks to be a slightly later model than the one I had. If I remember right, the standard style one (E4000) was bolt on and the custom one (E4500) was set neck but the custom used to have a proper double bound body. I think that when Westfield was coming to it's end they started using what they had so this looks like it got a bit of E4000 and E4500 put into it.
Nice, that's really cool! Thanks for the info. I hadn't looked into the specific model yet so that's helpful. It's an interesting guitar for sure. It makes a lot of sense that it could be a blend of models and might be a later one. I'm figuring out what's up with the treble pickup... it might lead to a few strategic mods too (pups etc). More videos to come on this one!
Nice. I'm in the states. Never heard of this brand. It's a shame they're out of business. Get her fixed up. And post a video of you playing it. Would love to hear it. Cheers. 😊
Thanks, yes it's nice. I've got it in bits right now on my work bench. I've had to do some rewiring. Video incoming with it working as it should! Keep rockin' 🤘🎸
Aren't Westfield Les Paul's around 150 bucks. Who would give away that for free. Like 40-90 dollars is a more realistic price from what I would think. Anyways what a steal you got, wish I was as lucky as you man. Happy playing :)
I know, crazy right! I guess people move on from stuff and it just gets left in the corner. I'm very happy to be the one to save it. I'll definitely be sharing more on this one. Keep rockin'
Hello there, this is Wolfie, I had the same problem with a vintage made Les Paul. I just sprayed some switch cleaner down the total switch and it’s been working ever since I hope this helps you
I'm actually working on it as we speak... It turns out there is some odd wiring going on and the volume and tone knobs are in the wrong places too! Somewhere along the line it's been tinkered with for sure.
Have you ever managed to score a free guitar or have a guitar find your were amazed by? Let us know in the comments!
You were saying "small pots", but I kept hearing "smallpox" and I was like, "I sure hope there's no smallpox in there!" 🤣
Ha ha, I got my hazmat suit just in case!
Hey, for free, you can't beat it, looks like a great guitar to do some modding too, maybe a pickup swap, congrats! WHY DOES THIS NEVER HAPPEN TO ME!!

Sealed tuners and a set neck for free is a good deal regardless

Ha, that's super cool. One person's trash is another one's treasure!

@@appetiteforguitar No worries man, thank you for giving me a little look back at my early years on guitar! Would love to see it modded. Can’t wait!

Looks good. Nice copy of a Gibson Custom.

I have a Westfield SG and it is just great :)
Nice, these seem to be pretty decent guitars for sure!

Thanks, I'll give it a try!
It's the switch!!!

Fix the cigarette lighter.
Assuming you mean the switch... yeah could be.
You Britts really need to learn how to say LES paul, not LEZ paul...😂😂😂
I'll learn how to say Les Paul if you learn how to spell Brit properly lol. Keep rockin'
