Not a Flowmaster fan at all. But this time, the Vette with the Flowmaster sounds better than the straight piped white one. That era of C3 Vette’s weren’t powerful. But they had beautiful lines. I’ve had 3. But my dream is a ‘78 silver anniversary with a manual trans and t-tops.
Those classic vets were not fast by any means but, they looked and sounded amazing. True Chevy thunder right here, folks. The Flowmaster and the straight piped ones sounded beautiful. No other word to describe it. Compared to these classics the new ones sound terrible.
Thnx for video! 👍 Ohh, too much bass from flowmaster, when it always, also on highway %) Do you have versus video of cars with V-engine with single and dual exit of exhaust ? V6(8)>---------- 😊
180 minimum in 1980, some are a little higher than 200hp if you get the L82. Mustangs made worse for the time, same with most muscle cars in the early 80s.
Yes dude. I FUCKING hate that sound. Idk why boomers are head over heels for flow masters they sound ridiculous in a bad way. I’d put some $30 cherry bombs before flowmasters
I’ll never forgive the EPA for the slaughter they caused on late 70’s - early 90’s muscle and sports cars. 305’s and 350’s with 185-200 HP. 454’s with 250HP like wtf 🤦🏻♂️
In Pennsylvania the state has changed it's law on vehicle engine swaps, as of January 4 2025 a car with an engine swap has to be retitled as a reconstructive vehicle and has to have a Pennsylvania enhanced state inspection. Soon our government will have every state doing this

Good old school sound. The Flowmaster is throaty but quite. I like the white Vette's sound better. Both are beautiful cars,

Nice work! 🔨🤘🏻😎 I think they both sound nice.
Both of them sounds good, so don't really know which one is the best 🤷♂️
Great video. Really shows why you *want* mufflers. The 40's sound terrific.
Flowmaster for sure. If money wasn't an issue and if the owner wants more sound I'd say headers and an xpipe with 2 hfc. Mmm
Flows. Be better when fully done right.
Flowmaster 40
Thnx for video! 👍

Both sound good but I think the super 40s had that best deep Flowmaster sound
Flowcrapster mufflers do not sound “deep”. They sound hollow, like dumping the sound into a metal 55 gallon drum. Awful.
@@mikek5298I agree. Contrary to their name, they really don't flow well.
@@mikek5298I completely agree. How anyone likes that empty sound from flowmasters is strange to me
Man put some dual exhaust on it’s a corvette
40s
145hp V8’s 😂😂
Yep 😂
Lol.
Rip it out for a truck LS and a carb intake manifold
Smog era

The curves were awesome..but the power they made was pathetic. Also the white one sounds better.
I have an O2 sensor just after the cat. Will removing the cat cause a "Check Engine" light to come on?
It'll throw a code for inefficient cat.
Yes, it’ll start running rich. Gotta tune it out.
Flowmasters always sound like an empty tin can 😂

I would LSx swap these.

@vhp454 here in Az we have historic vehicle plates.. maybe it can apply there also.
I had a 79 corvette, one of the worst cars I’ve ever owned. Maybe just my luck 🤷🏼♂️
180 hp from the malaise era of v8s. Booooo!
Both weak
