Finally a comment that brings me hope for a better Assassins creed in the future. In my opinion Mirage is mediocre, Ubisoft disappointed me not that I didn’t know what was coming with Mirage but that they didn’t keep improving from ACU which was a far better game than the ones that came before Mirage. Fingers crossed they actually use a better engine and make a next gen Assassins creed, they should take their sweet time making it though!
honestly im not tryna be that guy but i doubt these classic style games will be their big focus cuz the rpg games bring in sooo much money for ubisoft compared to the regular ac games

Also, AC Unity and the best parkour and combat hands down, with AC Syndicate being criminally Underrated or at least under played and talked about. The atmosphere in that game was insane.

I love this game, the way they did investigations, making you work and act like a real assassin, finding clues reading up on things its amazing they did a great job.
Yeah, but I am really tired of these investigationsto unveil bad guys ( the investigtions in certain missions could stay because I like the freedom, too). I would love to come back to 100% sequences with repeatable missions like old ones. And crafting like in Black Flag. I finish Mirage and I am very disapponted and I don't want to replay it again :( When AC with Ezio or Black Flag I could replay a few times just to get 100% in every mission for the trophy ;) Great times I hope they come back.
Everyone should know that Mirage was made with a small Ubisoft team than the other newer games. Hopefully it can do well and get an AC with full support
I hate the messy UI form Ubisoft games, Wall Hacks BS and glow everything and points of interest everywhere.. sigh.. why do devs treats gamers like idiots?

@@hpharold23 Indeed. Ubisoft UIs are the worst. And one of their devs had the gall to criticize Elden Ring for its UI. Ubisoft UIs are ugly, cheap-looking, and cluttered. I can't stand looking at them and I'll probably skip Mirage because of it.
Love this game so far! Considering the fact that this game didn’t have much time in development and was made by a smaller studio - they did a great job! I hope they get a chance to make a bigger back to roots title

Another tip I would throw in is to turn off the partial aim assist for tools cause you'll have more control, and it makes knife throwing at two enemies close together easier.
I think it’s unappreciated how detailed the world in Mirage is. The building interiors and even the clothing of the various NPCs tell so many different stories. You need to take it slow to appreciate all the beautiful world design, and Ubisoft never ever disappoints in the “virtual tourism” aspect of their games.
What was also cool that they added in, is that when you pickpocket someone, eventually, they will realize that their coin purse/belongings are gone and start to call for guards. I love that mechanic of the game very much.
@tonymellow9067 product of channels rushing to get content out I guess. Same with all the reviews claiming a 15 hour game....no fucking way unless you completely ignore all the side content, and maybe play on easy mode.

Then he answered my comment "it's not a review"....sure, it wasn't in the title, but a video on the day the embargo lifted, about the game and its mechanics, plus their feelings about the game: in all but name: a review.... I've got nothing about the easy difficulty, it exists for reasons, but for a review, it should at least be on "normal", with some hours spend trying out Easy and more difficult modes too.
Shhhhhh, you aren't supposed to pay attention to the instructions the game gives you. Just like you are supposed to rush through it as fast as you can so you can say there's nothing to do so you can say the games boring and sucks.
One thing I like is the game tells you Basim is not a warrior despite his "rough looks", and it basically tells you that if you have four or more people in an open combat and conflict, you are basically done for.
@@brohanfromrohan5771yeah, if you get the right perks. The ones I use are get stamina back every time I parry, and my damage builds up every consecutive hit. The other perk is i make less noise when I assassinate. I’ve only died like once maybe twice, and that was within the first day of playing
I found the enemies completely stupid compared to Valhalla, I didn't even have to upgrade my weapon because the enemies remained the same throughout the game
Love the game. Just wish we had more classic assassin robes. The middle eastern type outfits are nice, but I’ll always be a sucker for the classic robes and hood. Been rocking Ezio’s Revelations outfit lately

I believe the attacking chickens are a throwback to what happens when you attack chickens in AC Odyssey which in that game was indeed a little Easter egg to the Zelda games
I am really enjoying the game. Sure, it is not perfect but after a long long time, I can sense myself at home. Let's hope for a better future where we get a game with unity like movements, a good story and an expanded version of mirage's weapons arsenal.

I got it yesterday and I'm about 5 hours in, I haven't been doing the main missions much, I've been doing little stuff, exploring and getting the feel for the combat. It's a solid 8 out of 10 in my opinion, it really does feel like an assins creed game again.
In doing the pickpocket 100 people challenge I realized that the people with better loot & usually a token will have a gold bag while others are white. Also the difference in the mini game being harder, white bags are always the same bar
You can also unlock a skill to make pickpocketing easier without going into the menu like showed in the video. It makes the white bags looted automatically, the npcs with special items like shards or dervis's trinkets still have the minigame animation but made easier.

A game 30hrs with no filler content and all high quality missions is much more worth it than a 130hrs game with a ton of filler content, boring side missions, and a main story with horrible pacing that goes on for far too long. Valhalla is a bloated mess, and the only main ac game i haven't completed. It is simply too long. The witcher 3, and red dead redemption 2 are perfect examples of very long games with high quality content ALL the way through and no filler. Valhalla fails at this.

It was good for what it was, just a lot longer. Yes, there were a lot of collectibles. But unless you're a completionist like me, that shouldn't matter. The stories themselves were pretty interesting. Each region's campaign was concise and didn't overstay its welcome. I started playing in March and I'm still playing. As in, yes it's taking a long time, but also it's interesting enough for me to not put it down. I just finished the Ireland DLC and just started the Francia DLC. Still have the Ragnarok one left. I'm still very excited for Mirage, though. I love 30 hour experiences too. I immensely enjoyed The Guardians of the Galaxy game too. I clocked in at 30 hours on that. Also, Mirage has me feeling nostalgic for both AC 1 and Origins. It's a Middle Eastern setting and a desert setting.
Number 11: you CAN back eject in parkour (despite the devs telling you otherwise). When hanging from a ledge, tap A/X/(whatever it is on PC). The only caveat is it's contextual... It ONLY works if you have a wall directly behind you, or you are not hugely far off the ground. Give it a go!
@@laughingbob5786you technically can side eject but it’s not the same as the older games, yes it side ejects but only if there’s somewhere for you to land next to. An example would be you climbing a building and on the building, there’s a wood beam you can get on. If you’re right next to the beam and you press the descend button while moving your character to the direction that the beam is then yes you will eject to it but you’d have to be at the same level or above it to actually work.
Really? I gotta see this myself. I legit thought side eject didn't even exist in this game. If it does, even it's downgraded like the one you're explaining, it could make the parkour more fun despite some restrictions.
@@Zrs3820 it only makes it slightly more immersive but it can be pretty annoying cuz if you do it, sometimes it’ll make you just drop down to the ground instead of going to the ledge next to you

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. The smaller size, focus on stealth and investigation, and the city of Baghdad itself, its the most immersed I've been in an AC game in quite some time. I still haven't played Valhalla yet.
This game originally being a DLC for Valhalla, was made its own game with a price decrease most likely as a space filler until AC Infinite comes out, which will be there all in one launcher with 2 games at launch those being Codename Red and Codename Hexe.
The special assassination mechanic is something I am really excited about! 👏 It gives the game more to play around with different strategies. Was hoping for them to get a little bit of hitman or dishonored in there and it seems like they did. So far I haven't heard about it in reviews, but this is a big plus for me! 🙂

@@DemNikoArt Yeah. I thought it was cool. You are given several approaches you can take to get to the target. Sort of like Hitman's opportunities. I picked one where I went undercover as one of the people who was supposed to be sacrificed by the bishop, and then promptly assassinated the bishop when he came close. There is a time limit to the assassination too. You get a few seconds window to assassinate once you get close.
I highly recommend remapping the controls. There are so many options for how to set them up. I have mine set up with the same mappings from the old games. It feels so much better running using the trigger and not attacking with a shoulder button anymore.
Agreed! Best AC game since Origins, for sure. I'm loving it so far, and I'm only like 4-5-ish hours into it. Just did the first major assassination mission like an hour ago.
@@Wane_9090 Yessir! If you liked Origins, you'll like this one. Very similar game, except a WAY smaller map and smaller skill tree. Also, Basim is NOT tanky at all, unlike the 3 RPG Trilogy protagonists, so avoid straight-up combat as much as you can. Although, once you get an upgraded sword and get used to the controls, regular enemies aren't that hard. Just parry and dodge, and you're good.
I just finished probably 100% of the game after 31 hours, besides a few achievements, but yeah after quitting ac Valhalla after 2 hours because the start was so slow, this game feels so good and I really enjoyed play an ac game again, and honestly i could spend hours pickpocketing npcs so I can be patient for any updates
As an OG fan of the series, I can say wholeheartedly this game is awesome! I hated the RPG series (Origins was the exception) and yes, this game has the Valhalla system (Game that I played and totally hated it except from the graphics) but in steroids! Ubisoft definitely needs to keep going the way they went with Mirage. Any hate comments are coming from people that didn’t even bothered to play the game. Even tho the game is NOT perfect, is prepped fun to play it with a joint on your hand. This was honestly a VERY GOOD game.
about the blow dart and throwing knives, one amazing thing I found was they have some real realistic drop off, like if you want to hit a far off guy, sure if you aim straight at him he is too far away, but aim like ten feet above his head and it can hit him. the blowdart can also mark enemies like the bird anytime.
For the mysterious shards, the main story leads you to a point where you get a mission on your mission board that leads to you to the items ilthe shards unlock and once you get that mission is when you can start finding the shards So that means the game actually does tell you about the shards before you can even get them
Such a great game imo and an even better break from the rpg style game they’ve been making in recent years. Right back to the roots. One thing I wish they had is the double air assassinations and the double counters in combat (I loved those animations in AC3, they were just so clean, cool and satisfying)
I finished the game yesterday and it is amazing! I love it so much. It is the first AC game since Syndicate that I played, and the first since Unity I finished
Absolutely loving Mirage. The graphics, the gameplay, and the MUSIC. Holy shit the music is spot on. The dialogue is a bit clunky…but for the most part the characters and story are good. I do hope Ubisoft alternates this format with the open world RPG format. I’m a big fan of this and the classic AC games but I also really loved the previous 3 and the massive open worlds you could get lost in. I don’t want either to go away completely.
Just played the first hour or so and I’m loving it so far, nice to see them go back to a Middle East setting and Baghdad during the Golden Age was a great choice 👍🏾
I just did the first assassination target, and thought that the cutscene assassination was the only way, because of where he is in the area (no spoilers). It sets it up perfectly, and with the area the way it is (again, no spoilers), I didn't see another way of doing it, lol. I didn't realize it was special until watching this video. That's awesome! Can't wait to do the other special kills.
Me neither! I'm guessing there was a way to infiltrate the room he is hiding out in but I just did it the same way you did. We've finally got a stealthy AC game again. I could cry lol. Ubisoft are heading in the right direction if they stick to this type of AC game and put more resources and focus into it.
Well for me it was actually the other way around lol. As soon as I saw him I used my throwing knife, he fell and then nothing really happened. I got caught afterwards eventually and when I restarted I noticed the right way to do it

They did explain eavesdropping. It was when you break into the first prison and you need to eavesdrop on 2 guards. They told you you had to hide nearby and hit R3.
Fun fact: pickpocketing someone near the guard will attract them. If you see guards guarding chest and dont want to spend any effort to distract them, pickpocket someone nearby and wait a couple of seconds.
at the 2:06 mark, the screen shows the name of a place.. i actually spent 10 yrs of my childhood in a suburb of the same name in Kuwait... ahh, nostalgia hit !
It seems they have updated a few things since this video was uploaded. -First time that you need to eavesdrop in a mission the game tells you that you need to 'blend in' in order to do so. -The vendors don't share there inventory (I could by all parts from diffrent vendors almost directly after each other). As a side note, it could be that I did minor quests in between, cannot remeber if I did a quest between every vendor)
So glad that we've finally got stealth back in assassins creed! I hope they stick to this type of AC game and put more resources into improving the gameplay mechanics. The combat system needs a serious overhaul and the game could do with a little polish to refine it. But this is a step in the right direction. Hats off to Ubisoft for finally giving us what we wanted all along.
Oh snap!!!!! This video just made me hype. I already have it downloaded but i wanted to finish the main Quest in Odyssey b4 I go to Mirage. I think om really close to the end. Im goin to give them maybe 5 more main quest missions & if its not complete, ill just have to come back later. Alot of the stuff he's saying in this game was how i played Origins other than the social stealth & ease dropping...Idk why people act like Origins didnt have stealth. I wiped out soooo many enemy camps w/o being seen. 1 of the 1st things i started doin once i found out u can upgrade certain skills like tools, arrow damage, etc. I started doin that immediately. I used to ride around collecting the different items to upgrade my tools for hours playing maybe a story mission or 2. So this game sounds right up my alley especially with Origins being 1 of my favorite games ever
As for tip #4, I'd like to add another suggestion: utilize photo mode to peek around tight corners and into those hard-to-reach areas. And for tip #3, they actually explained the eavesdropping mechanic the first time you encounter it.
If you guys want to make it feel like an older AC game you can go in and change the buttons. I changed the quick attack and assassination to X/square and changed the sprint button back to right trigger. Feels a lot more like Assassins creed to me again
You can assassinate discreetly when sitting on a bench. Sit in a bench and whistle, they come to you and you can assassinate and put them on the bench. I found this helpful when doing contracts where you are escorting someone to safety.
The first Assassin's Creed title since Origins. Man, there was such a huge gap between releases, huh. In case you can't sense it, yes, that was sarcasm.
Those other games were a waste of time anyway. Jake made this game sound lame, but falcon has nearly sold me on the game. It looks and sounds really fun!
It's sarcasm, but it's true! Odyssey was a 300/Spartan simulator with a tiny bit of stealth and AC lore mixed in, and Valhalla was a straight-up Viking simulator with little-to-no stealth and a sprinkle of AC lore mixed in. This is the first true AC game since Origins, and I'm loving it! I'm only like 5 hours in, though.
@kasper_429 I think right now the IP just struggling to what it what's to be... Truth is I think the idea of jumping to different settings and timelines is probably a better focus for the ip.. each can be its own story. Only thing I would mix is it switch to different studios one focusing in a action adventure style and the other rpg... I think former ip plot is miss yes but if one thinks about it. Long term can't last. Only so much plot you can write before it goes stale. Hints shy they drop it
It makes me feel kinda bad how uninterested i am in this game, i probably going to play it eventually but no way in hell i gonna drop CP2077 to play this right now. 😂 But hey, here to give a thumbs up anyway.
I'm also in the same boat lol I've learned to accept that at this point all ubisoft games are pretty much the same with a different skin over it. I might pick this up whenever it comes to steam on a big sale though lol
I’m amazed how good mirage is, especially considering it started as DLC and was held down by being adapted from Valhalla. Add to that an entirely new team? Ubisoft seriously should beef these guys up, they know what they’re doing.

Are the mechanics in Mirage better then Origins? The smoke bombs and blending in is the only thing I've seen that takes me back. My first game ever was the original AC game so I've been looking forward to this, but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem a lot different then Origins. I didn't even play the last 2, and i just replayed Syndicate

No it's not Origins have the better mechanics, Also this game is way too small. But so far the game isn't bad it's just that the map is too small it's just one city.
@@TyeDye622That's how it used to be. Either multiple smaller locations within a hub or one big city. After all you were supposed to parkour, blend in and use the surroundings... Kinda hard out in the open.
I’m loving this game so far. I haven’t had fun with a AC game since black flag! I feels like a game and it’s beautiful visually. I hope more games come out like games rather then glorified movies
I was wondering if the chickens were going to be hostile. They are like that in Odyssey and Valhalla. They'll even attack you in Valhalla when you are fighting an enemy in front of them.
The below are explained. But this may be due to updates since the game released. I just finished/100% the game over the last five days. So this is till fresh in my mind. Number 9, this is fully explained. It's literally part of your investigations board. If you track the quest on Nehal it takes you to the oasis and puts a quest marker under the water. Number 3, eaves dropping is also fully explained. The first time you need to do it like half the screen is taken up with the tip on how to do it. And specifically telling you that you either need to be hidden (in bushes etc) or blending in (bench, crowd etc). Number 2, it's not just time it's distance. This is also explained, again it rakes up half the screen and pauses the game when it does it. But you have to get a certain distance away from your last seen location and then it cancels it. Waiting takes much longer if you don't just breach the distance to instantly reset the alert level. What the game actually doesn't tell you, is that while the alert level is reset for the overall world, the guards at a particular location have their own discreet state of awareness. So they'll be more easily triggered by your reappearance, even if both alert and wanted level are reset. To add to their tips, like they said pickpocket, but seriously go crazy with it. You don't really need silver for much, so buy out all the crafting materials until you have everything you want upgraded. And lastly if there are only about 9 armour sets, and 10 of each weapon. 90% of them will be in mission/contract locations. But if there is a gear set you're fond of, just look up where the rest are and grab them pre mission, because depending on the gear it might only take you there much later. Personally I used the starting gear for it's silence perk, and the Deluxe edition lightning sword & dagger for AOE combat perks the entire game.
Unfortunately that's what everybody wanted, they didn't like the new things and they cried about wanting the old stuff back, Though the series digressed instead of improved.
I'm looking forward to playing this because it seems like it will be classic Assassin's Creed through and through (i don't care if the story isn't the best, i'm just glad the original style of the series is back) Assassin's Creed II is one of my favourite games of all time, i've really missed the old style so much and i hope the game does well so Ubisoft knows that we don't need a game that takes forever to complete and to show that a tight focused game is enough (sorry trhis turned into a novel :'D)
When fans started complaining about how the newer games didn't feel like assassin's creed a lot of the quality of life stuff that we gained from all those games they took it out because fans wanted to go back to the roots so this game feels older in gameplay and some of the features that they could have included in the game they just took it out because fans want an older feel to a new assassin's creed game.

One thing I found annoying was the fact that you cannot accelerate time without a bench. Curiously, there are no benches in the wilderness so if you want to wait until dark for something out there, prepare to be very, very bored.
My first Assassins Creed game was Black Flag. So that’s the type of game I love. Origins to me was also incredible. I cried. Odyssey was really good and Valhalla was good
1 : Chickens can attack enemy, let them out of cage 2 : Collect mystery shards and go north at map for rewards 3 : Pickpocket and steal money from people for being rich 4 : Priority for unlocking new tools at skill points 5 : Do contracts for upgrading your tools 6 : Smoke bombs are so much strong! Use them 7 : You can peek with L2 button or right click at pc in cover 8 : You should blend in (sit bank etc.) for eavesdrop missions, otherwise you cant eavesdrop 9 : When guards are alert and searching for you after you escape, its boring to wait. So you can blend in a bank then pass time for quicker play 10 : There are cinematic assassinations for main targets, care for them and dont miss special scenes. Thats brief of the video guys you're welcome :)

Hopefully this game does well so we can get a assassins creed game with a new engine. I want parkour combat and just more mechanics to do in general.

Yeah, but I am really tired of these investigationsto unveil bad guys ( the investigtions in certain missions could stay because I like the freedom, too). I would love to come back to 100% sequences with repeatable missions like old ones. And crafting like in Black Flag. I finish Mirage and I am very disapponted and I don't want to replay it again :( When AC with Ezio or Black Flag I could replay a few times just to get 100% in every mission for the trophy ;) Great times I hope they come back.

Everyone should know that Mirage was made with a small Ubisoft team than the other newer games. Hopefully it can do well and get an AC with full support

mirage is a relatively smaller project for the AC franchise right now because the focus is the Japan AC next year

Another tip I would throw in is to turn off the partial aim assist for tools cause you'll have more control, and it makes knife throwing at two enemies close together easier.
I think it’s unappreciated how detailed the world in Mirage is. The building interiors and even the clothing of the various NPCs tell so many different stories. You need to take it slow to appreciate all the beautiful world design, and Ubisoft never ever disappoints in the “virtual tourism” aspect of their games.

What was also cool that they added in, is that when you pickpocket someone, eventually, they will realize that their coin purse/belongings are gone and start to call for guards. I love that mechanic of the game very much.

Shhhhhh, you aren't supposed to pay attention to the instructions the game gives you. Just like you are supposed to rush through it as fast as you can so you can say there's nothing to do so you can say the games boring and sucks.
One thing I like is the game tells you Basim is not a warrior despite his "rough looks", and it basically tells you that if you have four or more people in an open combat and conflict, you are basically done for.
Which is so wildly false. You can take on entire camps with absolute ease.

I found the enemies completely stupid compared to Valhalla, I didn't even have to upgrade my weapon because the enemies remained the same throughout the game
Love the game. Just wish we had more classic assassin robes. The middle eastern type outfits are nice, but I’ll always be a sucker for the classic robes and hood. Been rocking Ezio’s Revelations outfit lately

I believe the attacking chickens are a throwback to what happens when you attack chickens in AC Odyssey which in that game was indeed a little Easter egg to the Zelda games
I am really enjoying the game. Sure, it is not perfect but after a long long time, I can sense myself at home. Let's hope for a better future where we get a game with unity like movements, a good story and an expanded version of mirage's weapons arsenal.

I got it yesterday and I'm about 5 hours in, I haven't been doing the main missions much, I've been doing little stuff, exploring and getting the feel for the combat. It's a solid 8 out of 10 in my opinion, it really does feel like an assins creed game again.
In doing the pickpocket 100 people challenge I realized that the people with better loot & usually a token will have a gold bag while others are white. Also the difference in the mini game being harder, white bags are always the same bar

You can also unlock a skill to make pickpocketing easier without going into the menu like showed in the video. It makes the white bags looted automatically, the npcs with special items like shards or dervis's trinkets still have the minigame animation but made easier.

A game 30hrs with no filler content and all high quality missions is much more worth it than a 130hrs game with a ton of filler content, boring side missions, and a main story with horrible pacing that goes on for far too long. Valhalla is a bloated mess, and the only main ac game i haven't completed. It is simply too long.
The witcher 3, and red dead redemption 2 are perfect examples of very long games with high quality content ALL the way through and no filler. Valhalla fails at this.

While Valhalla was really big, I wouldn't use a strong word like mess to describe it. It was good for what it was, just a lot longer. Yes, there were a lot of collectibles. But unless you're a completionist like me, that shouldn't matter. The stories themselves were pretty interesting. Each region's campaign was concise and didn't overstay its welcome. I started playing in March and I'm still playing. As in, yes it's taking a long time, but also it's interesting enough for me to not put it down. I just finished the Ireland DLC and just started the Francia DLC. Still have the Ragnarok one left.
I'm still very excited for Mirage, though. I love 30 hour experiences too. I immensely enjoyed The Guardians of the Galaxy game too. I clocked in at 30 hours on that. Also, Mirage has me feeling nostalgic for both AC 1 and Origins. It's a Middle Eastern setting and a desert setting.
Number 11: you CAN back eject in parkour (despite the devs telling you otherwise).
When hanging from a ledge, tap A/X/(whatever it is on PC).
The only caveat is it's contextual... It ONLY works if you have a wall directly behind you, or you are not hugely far off the ground.

@@laughingbob5786you technically can side eject but it’s not the same as the older games, yes it side ejects but only if there’s somewhere for you to land next to. An example would be you climbing a building and on the building, there’s a wood beam you can get on. If you’re right next to the beam and you press the descend button while moving your character to the direction that the beam is then yes you will eject to it but you’d have to be at the same level or above it to actually work.
Really? I gotta see this myself. I legit thought side eject didn't even exist in this game. If it does, even it's downgraded like the one you're explaining, it could make the parkour more fun despite some restrictions.
@@Zrs3820 it only makes it slightly more immersive but it can be pretty annoying cuz if you do it, sometimes it’ll make you just drop down to the ground instead of going to the ledge next to you

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. The smaller size, focus on stealth and investigation, and the city of Baghdad itself, its the most immersed I've been in an AC game in quite some time.
I still haven't played Valhalla yet.

This game originally being a DLC for Valhalla, was made its own game with a price decrease most likely as a space filler until AC Infinite comes out, which will be there all in one launcher with 2 games at launch those being Codename Red and Codename Hexe.
The special assassination mechanic is something I am really excited about! 👏
It gives the game more to play around with different strategies.
Was hoping for them to get a little bit of hitman or dishonored in there and it seems like they did.
So far I haven't heard about it in reviews, but this is a big plus for me! 🙂

@@DemNikoArt Yeah. I thought it was cool. You are given several approaches you can take to get to the target. Sort of like Hitman's opportunities. I picked one where I went undercover as one of the people who was supposed to be sacrificed by the bishop, and then promptly assassinated the bishop when he came close. There is a time limit to the assassination too. You get a few seconds window to assassinate once you get close.

I highly recommend remapping the controls. There are so many options for how to set them up. I have mine set up with the same mappings from the old games. It feels so much better running using the trigger and not attacking with a shoulder button anymore.
Pickpocketing is definitely worth it. I turned off the mini game as well it saves time and you can't get caught that way as there is no way to fail.

@@Wane_9090 Yessir! If you liked Origins, you'll like this one. Very similar game, except a WAY smaller map and smaller skill tree. Also, Basim is NOT tanky at all, unlike the 3 RPG Trilogy protagonists, so avoid straight-up combat as much as you can.
Although, once you get an upgraded sword and get used to the controls, regular enemies aren't that hard. Just parry and dodge, and you're good.
I just finished probably 100% of the game after 31 hours, besides a few achievements, but yeah after quitting ac Valhalla after 2 hours because the start was so slow, this game feels so good and I really enjoyed play an ac game again, and honestly i could spend hours pickpocketing npcs so I can be patient for any updates
As an OG fan of the series, I can say wholeheartedly this game is awesome!
I hated the RPG series (Origins was the exception) and yes, this game has the Valhalla system (Game that I played and totally hated it except from the graphics) but in steroids! Ubisoft definitely needs to keep going the way they went with Mirage.
Any hate comments are coming from people that didn’t even bothered to play the game.
Even tho the game is NOT perfect, is prepped fun to play it with a joint on your hand.
This was honestly a VERY GOOD game.
You can also do a quic roll when you jump from high ledges if you press x right before landing
about the blow dart and throwing knives, one amazing thing I found was they have some real realistic drop off, like if you want to hit a far off guy, sure if you aim straight at him he is too far away, but aim like ten feet above his head and it can hit him. the blowdart can also mark enemies like the bird anytime.
For the mysterious shards, the main story leads you to a point where you get a mission on your mission board that leads to you to the items ilthe shards unlock and once you get that mission is when you can start finding the shards
So that means the game actually does tell you about the shards before you can even get them
Such a great game imo and an even better break from the rpg style game they’ve been making in recent years. Right back to the roots. One thing I wish they had is the double air assassinations and the double counters in combat (I loved those animations in AC3, they were just so clean, cool and satisfying)

Absolutely loving Mirage. The graphics, the gameplay, and the MUSIC. Holy shit the music is spot on. The dialogue is a bit clunky…but for the most part the characters and story are good.
I do hope Ubisoft alternates this format with the open world RPG format. I’m a big fan of this and the classic AC games but I also really loved the previous 3 and the massive open worlds you could get lost in. I don’t want either to go away completely.
The world's were cool but everything else sucked, (besides Origins story) Ubisoft put no effort into the mechanics of those games

Love this game. On my second playthrough already.
I just did the first assassination target, and thought that the cutscene assassination was the only way, because of where he is in the area (no spoilers). It sets it up perfectly, and with the area the way it is (again, no spoilers), I didn't see another way of doing it, lol. I didn't realize it was special until watching this video. That's awesome! Can't wait to do the other special kills.
Me neither! I'm guessing there was a way to infiltrate the room he is hiding out in but I just did it the same way you did. We've finally got a stealthy AC game again. I could cry lol. Ubisoft are heading in the right direction if they stick to this type of AC game and put more resources and focus into it.
Another way is probably just walking up to him and stabbing him? But no I don’t think there was another special way to assassinate him
Well for me it was actually the other way around lol. As soon as I saw him I used my throwing knife, he fell and then nothing really happened. I got caught afterwards eventually and when I restarted I noticed the right way to do it
I like the old style games, I like the new RPG ones, and I like that Ubisoft is taking an approach where they can provide both

They did explain eavesdropping. It was when you break into the first prison and you need to eavesdrop on 2 guards. They told you you had to hide nearby and hit R3.
Jake and Falcon deserve all the success they have and more!
Fun fact: pickpocketing someone near the guard will attract them. If you see guards guarding chest and dont want to spend any effort to distract them, pickpocket someone nearby and wait a couple of seconds.
Hopefully Mirage succeeds, it’s a step in the right direction. I want Ubisoft to release another Unity like game that’s actually polished.
They will if this sells well. Hopefully fans who complained about the RPGs buy Mirage, then we will get bigger stealth focused, big cinematic games.

@@H2E47 At the Khurasan Gate Guardhouse you have a mission to eavesdrop on 2 guards. You have to hide in the haystack.
It seems they have updated a few things since this video was uploaded.
-First time that you need to eavesdrop in a mission the game tells you that you need to 'blend in' in order to do so.
-The vendors don't share there inventory (I could by all parts from diffrent vendors almost directly after each other). As a side note, it could be that I did minor quests in between, cannot remeber if I did a quest between every vendor)
So glad that we've finally got stealth back in assassins creed! I hope they stick to this type of AC game and put more resources into improving the gameplay mechanics. The combat system needs a serious overhaul and the game could do with a little polish to refine it. But this is a step in the right direction. Hats off to Ubisoft for finally giving us what we wanted all along.
Oh snap!!!!! This video just made me hype. I already have it downloaded but i wanted to finish the main Quest in Odyssey b4 I go to Mirage. I think om really close to the end. Im goin to give them maybe 5 more main quest missions & if its not complete, ill just have to come back later. Alot of the stuff he's saying in this game was how i played Origins other than the social stealth & ease dropping...Idk why people act like Origins didnt have stealth. I wiped out soooo many enemy camps w/o being seen. 1 of the 1st things i started doin once i found out u can upgrade certain skills like tools, arrow damage, etc. I started doin that immediately. I used to ride around collecting the different items to upgrade my tools for hours playing maybe a story mission or 2. So this game sounds right up my alley especially with Origins being 1 of my favorite games ever
As for tip #4, I'd like to add another suggestion: utilize photo mode to peek around tight corners and into those hard-to-reach areas.
And for tip #3, they actually explained the eavesdropping mechanic the first time you encounter it.

If you guys want to make it feel like an older AC game you can go in and change the buttons. I changed the quick attack and assassination to X/square and changed the sprint button back to right trigger. Feels a lot more like Assassins creed to me again

You can assassinate discreetly when sitting on a bench. Sit in a bench and whistle, they come to you and you can assassinate and put them on the bench. I found this helpful when doing contracts where you are escorting someone to safety.

It's sarcasm, but it's true! Odyssey was a 300/Spartan simulator with a tiny bit of stealth and AC lore mixed in, and Valhalla was a straight-up Viking simulator with little-to-no stealth and a sprinkle of AC lore mixed in. This is the first true AC game since Origins, and I'm loving it! I'm only like 5 hours in, though.

Truth is I think the idea of jumping to different settings and timelines is probably a better focus for the ip.. each can be its own story. Only thing I would mix is it switch to different studios one focusing in a action adventure style and the other rpg...
I think former ip plot is miss yes but if one thinks about it. Long term can't last. Only so much plot you can write before it goes stale. Hints shy they drop it
I just think they use the ip to sell copies.
I really loved origins and Odyssey didn't really care for Valhalla this game is good too so far I just wish it was bigger.

No it's not Origins have the better mechanics, Also this game is way too small. But so far the game isn't bad it's just that the map is too small it's just one city.

I have this strange obsession in assassin's creed games to use the torch to light anything i can with it and im glad you can still do it😂
I’m loving this game so far. I haven’t had fun with a AC game since black flag! I feels like a game and it’s beautiful visually. I hope more games come out like games rather then glorified movies

I was wondering if the chickens were going to be hostile. They are like that in Odyssey and Valhalla. They'll even attack you in Valhalla when you are fighting an enemy in front of them.

The below are explained. But this may be due to updates since the game released. I just finished/100% the game over the last five days. So this is till fresh in my mind.
Number 9, this is fully explained. It's literally part of your investigations board. If you track the quest on Nehal it takes you to the oasis and puts a quest marker under the water.
Number 3, eaves dropping is also fully explained. The first time you need to do it like half the screen is taken up with the tip on how to do it. And specifically telling you that you either need to be hidden (in bushes etc) or blending in (bench, crowd etc).
Number 2, it's not just time it's distance. This is also explained, again it rakes up half the screen and pauses the game when it does it. But you have to get a certain distance away from your last seen location and then it cancels it. Waiting takes much longer if you don't just breach the distance to instantly reset the alert level. What the game actually doesn't tell you, is that while the alert level is reset for the overall world, the guards at a particular location have their own discreet state of awareness. So they'll be more easily triggered by your reappearance, even if both alert and wanted level are reset.
To add to their tips, like they said pickpocket, but seriously go crazy with it. You don't really need silver for much, so buy out all the crafting materials until you have everything you want upgraded. And lastly if there are only about 9 armour sets, and 10 of each weapon. 90% of them will be in mission/contract locations. But if there is a gear set you're fond of, just look up where the rest are and grab them pre mission, because depending on the gear it might only take you there much later. Personally I used the starting gear for it's silence perk, and the Deluxe edition lightning sword & dagger for AOE combat perks the entire game.

Unfortunately that's what everybody wanted, they didn't like the new things and they cried about wanting the old stuff back, Though the series digressed instead of improved.
I loved AC Odyssey, but the tiny size of Greece was weird af. At least Mirage has a regular-sized map that doesn't look like a miniature.
I'm looking forward to playing this because it seems like it will be classic Assassin's Creed through and through (i don't care if the story isn't the best, i'm just glad the original style of the series is back) Assassin's Creed II is one of my favourite games of all time, i've really missed the old style so much and i hope the game does well so Ubisoft knows that we don't need a game that takes forever to complete and to show that a tight focused game is enough (sorry trhis turned into a novel :'D)

Having sat out of AC since blackflag this game really hits for me. Being so busy the smaller size is actually good to me.

Seems to me they did it on purpose because the fandom complained about the previous games.
When fans started complaining about how the newer games didn't feel like assassin's creed a lot of the quality of life stuff that we gained from all those games they took it out because fans wanted to go back to the roots so this game feels older in gameplay and some of the features that they could have included in the game they just took it out because fans want an older feel to a new assassin's creed game.
Dervis trades give you a ton of components too. But each trade goes up by 3 artifacts.
This game makes me wanna play Ghost of Tsushima.
Honestly it's the better game
Ubisoft Bordeaux understands what assassin's Creed is.

One thing I found annoying was the fact that you cannot accelerate time without a bench. Curiously, there are no benches in the wilderness so if you want to wait until dark for something out there, prepare to be very, very bored.
My first Assassins Creed game was Black Flag. So that’s the type of game I love. Origins to me was also incredible. I cried. Odyssey was really good and Valhalla was good
1 : Chickens can attack enemy, let them out of cage
2 : Collect mystery shards and go north at map for rewards
3 : Pickpocket and steal money from people for being rich
4 : Priority for unlocking new tools at skill points
5 : Do contracts for upgrading your tools
6 : Smoke bombs are so much strong! Use them
7 : You can peek with L2 button or right click at pc in cover
8 : You should blend in (sit bank etc.) for eavesdrop missions, otherwise you cant eavesdrop
9 : When guards are alert and searching for you after you escape, its boring to wait. So you can blend in a bank then pass time for quicker play
10 : There are cinematic assassinations for main targets, care for them and dont miss special scenes.
