What makes suicide squad bad is not the many things people think about normally. The problem is that they clearly had a secret plot that the justice league were actually clones, and that the real ones would likely be freed/saved later only to scrap those plans after the terrible reception of the game. And many parts of the game hint it that. King shark not having control over the ring, flash’s finger regenerating, superman being able to resist gold kryptonite, Batman’s puzzle indicating he’d be back, and Wonder Woman being the only one who couldn’t be cloned because she is made from sand.
That game made me so frustrated. The story and world building did not justify the difficulty or amount of mental effort it took to turn it on. Inb4- get good. It wasn't something like Elden ring where I was encouraged to learn it.
As a massive fan of LIS it was a shame that the game turned out the way it did. I was left more confused and with more questions than ever after my first playthrough. Not to mention not respecting both endings when they said they would. The only thing that saves it for me is Hannah Telles performance of Max and to see her play that character again was amazing
The extra disappointing thing about double exposure was the gross and greedy way that square enix priced the deluxe edition with early access to the better bits of the game and this ridiculous cat dlc (which had extra trophies attached to it so you couldn’t 100% the game without it). I shouldn’t be surprised about this kind of thing by now but it still makes me feel this whole industry is getting more and more soulless.
Double Exposure is bad for being more than a half baked game. One of the things that the LIS crowd wanted was for Chloe to return alongside Max. She doesn't beyond a very small part of the game. Square Enix said they would respect both endings of the original Life Is Strange game, which turned out to be a complete lie. The fanbase was just extremely angry about the whole situation.
They need to transfer the ip back to don't nod! Lost records is what I'm expecting LiS DE would've been like if they had the creative control! DE feels so lifeless and nowhere near a passion project, which the first two LiS did!
Not to mention what little of Chloe we get in the timeline where she isn't dead, she's horribly written out of character to justify breaking them up. A canon, beloved ten year relationship over within the first twenty minutes of gameplay. All because the D9 writers secretly hated Chloe's character, and instead of admitting that, they strung fans of the 'Bae' ending along with the 'respect both endings' bs. Fun...

Yeah Snow Day was just bizarre. Why would you go back to the 3D style which was unpopular in the past, after the success of the 2D games? It made no sense whatsoever.
I hated Double Exposure, and not just because of the Chloe situation. I found it soulless, and I personally thought it kind of mischaracterized Max. Really disappointed in the direction the LIS franchise is going.
The series fell off the deep end once Don’t Nod left. Deck Nine just doesn’t have any imagination, they just keep rehashing the same story over and over again.
The campus gave me a gross feel, idk how to describe it, but I agree with you. It got boring to look at after a while, the music was annoying switching from world to world, you had to run around forever just to get one good cutscene at the end of the episode, maxs body would glitch and turn invisible til she was a floating head, the story got really messy and hard to follow near the end, npcs would glitch out, etc. Although I really enjoyed maxs superpowers in this game, and I loved the idea of another person with superpowers lurking around you.
The south park snow day game was an elaboration to a newgrounds flash game about south park during a snow day that was actually pretty good for the time.
If I were going to make a new South Park game I'd use the kids' wrestling characters, in the same world and battle system as the first two games. They would obviously start out as amateur backyard wrestlers but work their way up to becoming pros, perhaps forming their own league and touring the country and maybe even go international with Lucha Libre, Greco-Roman, Sumo, Judo, etc. Maybe even throw in some mud/oil/jello wrestling in too, hahah.

They really should have just done another RPG that looks like the actual show. How'd they stray so far from Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole?
Graven is kinda upsetting to me, because it was supposed to be an emersive sim in a similar vein to Dishonored. I remember watching the first Realms Deep a few years back and seeing it and being so excited. My bestie and I got it on sale to try the multiplayer and after about 2-3 hours, encountered a game breaking bug where a pedestal that was supposed to lower: wouldn't. WE FINISHED THE PUZZLE LOOKED IT UP AND SAW WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. Didn't happen in ours. We played our own separate, single player, games, his worked, mine didn't. I reinstalled and tried again to the same results. We wait a few months: the game is released. We try again: THE SAME BUG STOPS US. In general it just sucks to see. Especially being such a big 3D-Realms fan.
You can always tell who did and didn’t play Concord. Sure, some of the character designs were god awful, but the combat was fluid, TTK was balanced, and the devs behind it were incredibly talented coming from studios that made Halo, Destiny, Titanfall, Apex, etc. The lack of content, and terrible marketing campaign on top of uninspired characters definitely killed the game before it even landed. I especially think it’s funny that people said it was full of MTX when there wasn’t a single MTX in the game at launch. $40 for a game with no battlepass, all future maps, characters, and cosmetics were going to be free, or could be earned just through progression. How this wasn’t pointed out by the devs before the game dropped was beyond confusing. Hope Sony learned their lesson at the very least cause it could’ve been successful if they listened to feedback and delayed the game. Hell even made it FTP while making changes to it as time went on would’ve been a good idea.
@@paranoidandroid___1248Glad that somebody was having fun with that game at least, but I'll just say that having an awful-looking characters and design is VERY important for some people, including me, like no matter how much someone says that a food is delicious, if it looks very unappetizing to me, I'm not gonna touch it.

I had a review copy of Taxi Life.. overall it wasn’t THAT bad but.. and big but here. To have a driving game that didn’t have wheel support for consoles at launch is a big mistake.. similar to Expeditions (snow runner 2) not having co op at launch is wild! People like to drive with friends and to leave that out at lunch is crazy! I hope for 2025 we get more delays, dev teams let games cook and release games without major issues 🤞🏼
I got Taxi Sim and thought it was okay. It's definitely not a 'good' game but when I first got my steering wheel for my PC it was an okay game to sink some time into to get used to a driving rig. Since this I have moved onto ETS 2 which is phenomenal!
Hello?!? Everquest?!? And I'm sure there's more that came out way before, people met and got married because of those game's, so Fortnite wasn't the first live service game.
You must be new to gaming (no shame). These sorts of games have been around about as long as online gaming has been possible. I'll take the micro transaction AAA hellscape over the randomized loot boxes of the mid-2010s any day of the week.
The amount of love they put into splatoons music design, the effort and care is beyond what we deserved. The music designer wanted to get PAID and made it so incredible.
Taxi Life is so out of pocket for this list because like, what were you expecting when you bought it? 😅 It's not perfect by any stretch, but if you compare with other games in this genre, you could find far worse games.
Ngl I thought LiS in the thumbnail was a joke. Kinda shocked it landed on this list, I thought it was awesome and I didn't gather nearly as much negativity from the community as described.
Life is Strange double exposure was a massive disappointment in every way. I loved the original game with Max never touched the games that came afterwards because I was mainly just interested in seeing Max or Chloe story. The writers getting hired these days suck.
Honestly, Chloe is what sold me on Life Is Strange 1. I didn't buy the prequel due to the voice actress change. Seems like I won't be buying the new game, either.
For life is strange, it is simple, no Max without Chloé. I mean did they even where aware of the comics? I know they had to take in consideration the Bay over Bae ending, but they could have easily make you choose your LiS ending before starting the game. You choose Bay? You get Safi. You choose Bae? I'm pretty sure it came out a year or two ago that Matt and Trey have a contract where they have to actually like make and publish games, in a certain time., or they'll violate their contract. My speculation is Snow day was a way for them to actually honor the contract, without having to put ridiculous amounts of work into everything like a full-fledged South Park rpg. And no offense, all of their games have not hit except for the rpg, so maybe they should just stick to what they're good at. 😅
You say "published by 3D Realms" as if that's a good thing. It's absolutely an immediate red flag. They've been absolutely horrible lately, lackluster rushed releases, holding out on physical editions customers pre-ordered YEARS ago that STILL haven't shipped and have no immediate estimates on ship dates, or even any word that they've even been produced yet. Many of us pre-ordered the Wrath big box back in like 2020 and the latest word on it's shipping is "maybe 2025". Steer clear of 3DR, the current iteration of Apogee is the current 3DR in terms of the quality you'd expect from the name.

Idk picked up SSKJL on sale dirt cheap and it has some rough edges but the traversal systems and gameplay were pretty fun if your just looking to play some mindless action
whether you bought it full price or not, doesn’t change the core game itself just you own personal opinion of its value. I mean a lot gamers saw the writing on the wall and didn’t buy it on launch, even with most gaming channels being critical of it before release. Sure I can see the disappointment in not getting another Arkham game, but much like Gotham Knights (which isn’t the horrendous game it gets label as) it got compared to the Arkham games that they expect now that they know it’s possible.
"Our game is most definitely not a ripoff of Splatoon! We use foam! Not ink, foam! Completely different!" Seriously, though, one really has to wonder what was going on behind the scenes during development. Surely every single person behind the development of that game knew full well that it was a completely blatant ripoff and copy of Splatoon, and a complete attempt at a money grab riding on that gameplay concept. There's no way every single person in that team from the top to the bottom didn't know perfectly well. And they still went with it, and thought it was a good idea.
for me it was LEGO Horizon Adventures. visually by far the most impressive and advanced title of the series, but at the expense of being completely soulless, bland, repetitive and overpriced. it had nothing of what made the previous lego games so enjoyable and successful, and on top of that it forced you to login via PSN to even see the title screen. absolute shame.

Just stop it bro you reach any further you're gonna throw ya back out lol
What makes suicide squad bad is not the many things people think about normally.
The problem is that they clearly had a secret plot that the justice league were actually clones, and that the real ones would likely be freed/saved later only to scrap those plans after the terrible reception of the game. And many parts of the game hint it that. King shark not having control over the ring, flash’s finger regenerating, superman being able to resist gold kryptonite, Batman’s puzzle indicating he’d be back, and Wonder Woman being the only one who couldn’t be cloned because she is made from sand.
Think the worst/most disappointing game that I played this year was Flintlock.
Flintlock, Concord, and Dustborn all belong on this list
I enjoyed the first hour or so.... But it fell flat real fast
That game made me so frustrated. The story and world building did not justify the difficulty or amount of mental effort it took to turn it on.
Inb4- get good. It wasn't something like Elden ring where I was encouraged to learn it.
I actually didn’t mind it 😭 but I can see the flaws.
Really neat idea and presentation, but the execution lacked enough variety to keep players interested.
making the “Quadruple AAAA” title Number 4 is pretty funny 💀💀
Fun...
it wasn't a complete lie. people break up. get over it
@@greysmoke9649 It's a story driven game. You can't just introduce a strong bond between two characters show their adventures and then in sequel reveal they broken up off-screen. It's bad writing and feels unsatisfying.
@@greysmoke9649 Yes it was, what a stupid response to a game about how "choices matter" and a story driven game whose sequel makes your choices NOT MATTER

Life is Strange launched broken and didn't have the depth of the previous games. The world was smaller and there was little build up for the supporting cast to warrant caring about what happened to them. I hope they get another shot at it and actually develop these characters rather than throw them away and introduce "another batch."
I liked life is strange double exposure
I liked it and the new characters
Man I just bought it too like a day or two before this video came out. I really hope I’m in the group of people that has fun playing it otherwise Imma be disappointed
I actually hated every lis game by deck 9. At this point i just say. They dont have the same talent as dontnod
LiS:DE's narrative falls apart so completely it's honestly embarrassing for them lol
Biggest thing with LIS was the fact that there was so many tech issues as well at release and even still today

I have to admit LiS Before the Storm is still my favorite above the really good LiS 1. And double exposure is making fun so far, I will see how the last chapter will be. But so far nothing to justify being on this list.
@ i get what you say, but double exposure have something missing in it and i can’t quite point out what it is. It’s either the writing or the theme of the story that doesn’t feel like the life is strange we all know and love

Tysm!
I’m so glad double exposure was put on this list. Feels like I never saw anyone complain about it even tho it’s such a shit game.
2024 had lots of bad games, layoffs, cancelations, studio closures, unnecessary remasters and... Hopefully 2025 will be better 🙏
Fingers crossed 2025 delivers!!
You know he also hates suicide squad when he says to get it out of the way
Ok but that last bit of clip of Skull and Bones, where your blow up a ship and then it crashes into another enemy ship.... That was pretty tight
@@poett8875 Dontnod
did we play the same game 💀
@@greysmoke9649 haha, it's okay, we all have our own opinions!
That would be sick!
Taking notes so I don't mess up my game in the next decade✍️📝
Why they ever linked Suicide Squad to the Batman Arkham games is such a mystery to me, no need to ruin those games by HAVING BATMAN KILLED
I'm glad you sat on that NFT game for a few minutes, just "gameplay", to really highlight how unbelievably boring it is.
Do 10 great games nobody played in 2024.
Foamstars was $40 if you didn't have PS+.
As much i agree with this list, i have to say skull and bones really has the potential to be better than what it is now. Like, sea of thieves also sucked when it launched, but it got better overtime because it had the potential to be. Great video as always 👍.
👍
Yea but the problem is once a game is released playing like shit. You've lost 90% of your audience. I own No man's sky. Have NVR gone back since the bad release. If it's not worth the money I paid at the beginning I will NVR play it again.
@@theadd_gamer1182 why not? You already paid for something, so why not go back to play it. It's not even costing extra money. It's that simple. And no man's sky has even reached its potential now. Doesn't matter if it lost some players on release.

I want a pirate game where you find a set of islands and have to explore them while hunting for a lost treasure. There is a cool story to be had there and the exploration and combat system could be really cool as well. But this will probably never happen.
While I haven't played it, isn't that the loop to Sea of Thieves?
Merry Christmas guys. Love your videos.
The rare video where Jake says anything negative. This is one of the reasons I love this channel. Feels like gaming is full of just angry, negative people anymore.
After finishing Gotham Knights solo whenever that came out, I went back and replayed Arhkam Knight .... and wow, just wow! This game still holds up today, and the graphics are still amazing!
Gollum from 2023 and that weird NFT game would be a good battle. That game looks terrible.

Wow I completely forgot about that South Park game and never knew it came out this year. What a piece of crap it looked like and it's not a surprise at all to hear it played like crap. They really should have just done another RPG that looks like the actual show. How'd they stray so far from Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole?

Snow Day was honestly fun if you bring friends
Especially being such a big 3D-Realms fan.
wild that Concord didn't make the list. That one was laughably bad
Probably because it no longer exists.
because the gameplay wasn't really bad it was just 40 bucks in a free market with crap designs
@@plipplop728 that’s fair and all, but at the same time it was a first person shooter…….so you quite literally never saw your own character unless someone on the opposite team was playing as them lol that’s what kills me about people not caring for the character designs. People who missed the first game, hey, at least because it was bad they didn't suffer from Foamo.
Idk how long it took you to come up with that but thank you for saying it, I laughed

I’ll take it to the grave with me but Suicide Squad does not deserve to be on a “suck” list. Disappointing? Yes. Suck? No way. Game had a lot of potential and had a lot of fun systems, it just didn’t deliver longevity or the promises made. Next to some of the games of this list its way out of place
Live service is the worst thing to happen in gaming not only that but Fortnite was the first game to start this trend
Are you high? Fortnite was not the first at all 😂😂😂

For life is strange, it is simple, no Max without Chloé. I mean did they even where aware of the comics?
I know they had to take in consideration the Bay over Bae ending, but they could have easily make you choose your LiS ending before starting the game. You choose Bay? You get Safi. You choose Bae? You get Chloe instead...

I remember I played Foamstars after it launched. I cannot even proceed the tutorial. The game left me in a large space, guide me shot foam to targets, and nothing. I even cannot find an exit menu.
Max is gorgeous in life is strange new game. Too bad not the best game
You could do a video on 100 games that sucked this year. This year was the fall of AAA and the rise of indie gaming. I finally got myself into indie gaming and now my backlog is enormous, for that I am grateful
I'd love to agree with you, but this is a sentiment that's been said for the last four years, at least. Indie gaming has been here for a while. (Welcome, enjoy the great games!)
While I love indie games, there are still a LOT of AAAs that's great this year you know, it's just that those games are probably not your cup of tea and that's fine, but I'm so fed up with all these "aAa iS dEaD, iT's OnLy IndiE nOw", yeaaah no.

Yup, these 3 dumpsters should be in the top 5 with Skull and Bones .
100% agree
Idk picked up SSKJL on sale dirt cheap and it has some rough edges but the traversal systems and gameplay were pretty fun if your just looking to play some mindless action
But some people bought it for full price or the deluxe you have to review it like that
whether you bought it full price or not, doesn’t change the core game itself just you own personal opinion of its value.
2024 was disappointing, I spent most of my gaming hours going back in Elden Ring. Always a good fall back
The tutorial for Skull and Bones was the best part
"Our game is most definitely not a ripoff of Splatoon! We use foam! Not ink, foam! Completely different!"
Seriously, though, one really has to wonder what was going on behind the scenes during development.
It'd be easier to list games that weren't garbage.
The list is pretty short.
for me it was LEGO Horizon Adventures. visually by far the most impressive and advanced title of the series, but at the expense of being completely soulless, bland, repetitive and overpriced. it had nothing of what made the previous lego games so enjoyable and successful, and on top of that it forced you to login via PSN to even see the title screen. absolute shame.
How is dustborn not here
It's kind of insane how Skull and Bones was revealed YEARS ago and they still somehow managed to deliver an undercooked and underbaked game. Shows that Ubisoft only cares about how much money they make rather than the quality of their games.
This list is definitely missing some games
