Best thing about ranking lists is that everyone feels differently about each game. I'd personally put Mirage above Syndicate and Odyssey over Unity. Origins is my favorite though. To each their own.
Generally agree but Odyssey once again mischaracterised as not being good for stealth. Apart from the boss fights and the arena, you can literally stealth the entire game with the assassin skill tree by far the strongest and most powerful. The only thing is missing regarding stealth is the blending.
Exactly. People just don't know how to play because the engraving system is confusing at first. Assassin is so much stronger than Hunter and Warrior. So much so that I stopped using Hero Strike because it made Warrior builds obsolete.
The most op stealth assassin item build is Pilgrim Set (near-permanent Invisibility since it removes the adrenaline consumption) and falx of Olympos (+100% damage in exchange for max 25% health).
The fact you talk about skill tree and item build in this comment thread to highlight how strong being an assassin is, is a joke on its own. Literally the whole point of Assassin’s Creed is the three tenant of creed and AC odyssey didn’t even touch on the Creed at all. It may be a decent game but it’s not an AC game
My personal favorite is Odyssey. The story kept me hooked and the cult of cosmos gave me stuff to do for a long time. I also really like the combat because of some of the abilities and stuff. I have like 150 hours on the game just running around doing side quests and fighting mercenaries.
@@IronsideGeorgeyeah I also loved odyssey, I really enjoyed walking through the map with the power of a literal demigod I was killing my opponent with one hit, I was able to assasinate opponent who were 20-30 levels higher than my own, it was awesome.
@@DrJones0801I doubt he understands the meaning of your comment, but I do.... Ac has gradually moved away from the true success of the franchise and ac odyssey is clearly a game that has completely moved away from the franchise, only the name remains... In comparison, it would be like saying that ff16 was made in the image of what the license offered in its early days. I don't mind change, but extreme change and lack of innovation disgust me in games these days, and even more so when they're great licenses that in reality continue to thrive solely because of their notoriety and nothing more, to be frank. 🙂
@@jgb7480i thought like you but you really dont need to do side quests much there’s only 2 or 3 side quests per region that is advisable to do so you can level up properly and understand the story otherwise you can ignore the silly small side quests
I spent a thousand hours on Odyssey and this includes New Game+ playthroughs. Past level 99, you still level up, with points going to extra skill builds. Serious grinding but in a game you never really want to end. Each playthrough can be different, leading to different, but limited endings. Explore and find all kinds of people to kill, as long as you're willing to be hounded by bounty hunters. The sea missions arent as glorious as in Black Flag, but it's all so beautiful and challenging. The storms create huge swells and waves, and naval battles with fire arrows and spears, are a treat. Added to this is not meeting people like Winston Churchill, but Sokrates, Perikles, Thespis, the hilarious Alkibiates, Herodotus, Hipokrates, Kleon, and more. It's a dream. Whoever did these voices are excellent, except where some actors play different characters. The only one who pulls this off is Brasidas and the Wolf. Add a tragic story seen in flashbacks, and you have plenty of motivation to kill. If I could have killed the pythia, I'd surely have done it. Some hateful and pathetic characters can't be killed. Finally there's the cult of Cosmos, every one of whom is perfectly hatable. Only one needs to be spared, but if you aren't careful, you'll have to kill him. That's one way to get a bad ending. The Greek world is beautiful, although with some cookie cutter dwellings, leader houses, etc. otherwise it's all here: stealth or storm, incredible upgrades to armor and weapons, lots of trophies, mythical creatures ("Malaka! It's real!") and abilities no other assassins have, because further back in history, the more apples there are and the closer you are to precursor tech. I was stunned at finding out who the father is. I tried to play and like the DLCs, but I hate them. They have a disequilibrating vibe and I can't play like that. Otherwise, still my favorite AC game, with Origins close behind.
I dont understand everyone's complaint about playing Haytham in AC 3. Playing as him was pretty fun, imo because he wasn't afraid to speak what was on his mind and how insane he was in combat.
I also like the twist in the beginning. The nuances between Connor and Haythem's ideologies as Templar and assassin's during colonials times where (let's be real) ALOT of awful stuff was going on. It also felt like Connor and Haythem fought differently with Connor's combat feeling way more ruthless than Haythem's who felt more calculating. 3 has some of the most fun combat in the series to me.
These comments made me realize how much I truly love Odyssey. I started with Brotherhood and it got me hooked on the series, but seeing the evolution over the years it feels like Odyssey is the pinnacle at the moment. The gameplay is fantastic and the world building and atmosphere is on par with the best games ever made.
Unity was about using the gadgets, you had to pick your gear carefully too (sprinting full on towards the target isn't going to work) when its also buffed with the PC mod to allow for more control (using the phantom blade when hanging off walls) its one of my favourite AC games.
Well. That's a lie. You just stock up on ammo, use the best pistol and smoke bombs. Spam attack on any enemy that doesn't let you shoot them after dropping a smoke bomb or the stun grenade and boom. Whole army slaughtered and if you run low just parkour away, wait till they stop pursuing then go buy more ammo. Rinse repeat. Just get better armor and health. If the mission is to high rank for you it's fine. Just stealth your butt off and you can easily get enough money to get the gun and armor pieces.
@@DJ-LD I'm glad you have your world war trench charge tactic, but I'm simply describing what was fun for me. Using the phantom blade whilst hanging off a wall makes for some interesting developments
@@IronsideGeorge That's nonsense. Yes it's a slightly different Black Flag in another area. But Brotherhood is another 2 and good. Rogue has some good optional content. Only because the story is rushed it's not bad. It's still Black Flag in its core. Again, Brotherhood and Revelations are almost like 2. But with Rogue this is now a bad thing because its not ann obvious sequel.
@@Vayne_Solidor It's not just Black Flag that makes it bad. It's that the game is fun, but the story is dogshit. Like he said in the video, the game does the poorest attempt ever at giving us an outsider or templar perspective. The entire time ad Haytham is arguably much better. Shay has potential, but the entire story needs to remake. The one we got atrocious depicts the Brotherhood acting just like the Templars and they kill Adewale. Again, nice concept, fun game, but the story alone makes it almost crazy to just pay that much for it when it released. Brotherhood and Revelations probably should have been DLC so if there was an AC 2 remake, I'd make Brotherhood and Revelations DLC, but they are leagues and leagues better than Rogue.
AC oddessey is my first Ac game and I’m loving it,I know the games “assassin” aspect is very rough but I love Ancient Greece and it will probably be one of my favorites
I've been thinking of trying Oddysey due to how much i love Origins. I remember people complaining about stealth in Origins, but out of all the games its is probably hands down the one I've had the most fun playing stealthily. The way guards act depending on the time of day, the different bows like the predator bow, and using fire and moving bodies as distractions, hiding in fauna and water and the many ways to approach stealth areas; it was just so much fun and satisfying. Only thing it was missing was social stealth. Plus i just enjoy exploring Egypt.
Just my 2 cents but not every AC game needs a great story, if it’s a cheesy or uninspired story but has great gameplay I’ll be a happy man, which is why I love AC Syndicate
I love Syndicate, and despite the eh story it's nice to see an assassin like Jacob who cares just as much about helping out the common man(arguably more) than he does about the templars
Love the entire series, but it does have flaws for sure, like all things do. Personally, my favorite game of the series is Odyssey. It may not be a generic "assassins creed," but the gameplay, story, world, history, combat, outfits, weapons, rpg style, and overall game is just pure bliss. I love that game so, so, so much
One thing I wish the other games allowed just for the giggles was that in AC1 you could run into people with brooms and knock it out of there hands if you did so you could then pick it up and proceed to kill guards with it when I would get bored I would just grab that and see the string of death a man and a broom could bring
For me it’s the first ever assassins creed game that came out. Being a kid and hearing there’s a game like this being released got everyone excited. You wouldn’t understand.
I get where people come from about stealth in Odyssey but I’ve legit never had a stealth problem in that game. It lacks social stealth which is a bummer, but otherwise it’s a perfectly fine stealth game. You just gotta spec for assassin.
@@hawaiianrussian1047 Thanks bro! I played all AC and i really think Valhalla did almost everything right. It's sooooo good. The shire story arcs are mostly really good. England is AMAZING to explore, combat is the best i have ever seen. I just love the viking vibes, the mysteries. Its all so well done..
My Ranking 1. AC 4 Black Flag 2. AC Origins 3. AC 2 4. AC Brotherhood 5. AC Revelations 6. AC Unity 7. AC Odyssey 8. AC Valhalla 9. AC 3 10. AC Mirage 11. AC Rogue 12. AC 1 13. AC Syndicate
My ranking is 1. AC BROTHERHOOD 2. AC 2 3. AC 4 BLACK FLAG 4. AC REVELATIONS 5. AC 3 6. AC UNITY 7. AC SYNDICATE 8. AC ORIGINS 9. AC MIRAGE 10. AC ODYSSEY 11. AC VAHALLA
Comment is not how you rate a game success lol. Ac odyssey barely had 10m copy sold and most ac fan would say ac black flag and brotherhood would be top 1. 3rd place is arguably between ac 2 and origins. The only people that loves odyssey are the one who loved the game for the settings in greece and all that.
@@sicariodu9546 you are the expert. All hail sicariadu! Numbers don’t tell shit btw. When a comment section is overwhelmingly full of odyssey being mentioned as people favorite or top 3. Then it’s definitely up there. THATS facts. Stay wrong bud
@@Cfbaccount lol you sound hurt and slow buddy. The majority of the comment section doesn’t even like odyssey in the comment lmao. Its like 35-40 percent that love it in their top 3. Your argument is dumb asf too. If you go in a fan made video of an game of course everyone will love it. If you go on a page where people don’t love it then most people will not love it. If numbers ain’t telling shit than what about you. You literally a nobody on earth with 7 billion habitants lmao, im pretty sure what you like or not does not define the reality. Stay strong tho. Its always funny seeing fanboy who get mad when you contradict their feeling lmaoo.
I literally put 100hrs into Valhalla getting all of the chests around the world and the side quests. And there is soooo much to do still… I want to lvl up before I hit the storyline.
I sunk 300 hours into Valhalla..was so handy it came out during Covid. What’s funny to me is that so many people whine about there being too much to do in the game 😂😂😂. Yeah it totally sucks when developers give you your money’s worth and then some. I’d rather have too much to do in a game than spend money on a game and finish it in an evening.
You forgot a game from the list “assassins creed: nexus VR” a great get weird feeling assassins creed game, parkour entirely depends on if you, it can either be smooth if you’re used to VR or terrible of not, yet it’s a fun game overall, if you have VR you should totally check it out
I know everyone hates this game and this character, but imo Jacob from Syndicate is an assassin who arguably did more for the general populace than most assassins, Eivor united england and Ezio is well Ezio but other than those 2 i cant think of an assassin that helped the common people as much as Jacob, and despite the gameplay of the series its nice to see a brute force assassin especially when his fist and knuckles are legitimately one of the most fun weapon(s) to use in the AC franchise in my opinion only behind The hidden blade and Edwards 4 flintlocks
Odyssey is in my top 3 favorite games of all time. Mostly due to the amazing Greek/Sparta setting and mythology. The combination of naval and foot combat, participating in land battle and exploring all the islands. An absolute masterpiece!
my favs 1.unity, 2.black flag, 3.ac2 + brotherhood , 4.ac origins, 5.ac odyssey. i dont know why unity is my overall topstar even though storywise its weak but somehow paris felt so fascinating and i even used to walk around for hours just to enjoy the atmosphere no other ac ever acomplished this for me and gameplay in general ws great too
I really like your list, big respect to your thoughts. I just finished Origins DLC's included (now heading to Oddisey) and so far my top 3 are Rogue, Origins and AC2. Thanks for sharing!
Imo Odyssey is the best game they produced, not in an assassin/stealth perspective but just the game overall. Those who dislike it are those who have not really played the game.
@@IronsideGeorge Cesare was a spoiled brat who got everything from his father, and didn't even realize what Ezio was doing in Rome, while he was away in Romagna. Even Ezio remarked of Cesare that "the ignorant make easy targets." He completely went downhill when he killed his father, thus losing his seat of power that his daddy gave him. The worst Grand Master in the series by far.
@@IronsideGeorge anytime my man! Also totally agree with Rogue at the bottom… I never got hooked despite it sharing so much with Black Flag.. and I never enjoyed playing Shae at all, found him totally forgettable; I forgot about the terrible accent though so may need to play a bit again to remind myself 🤣
Unity had by far the best side content, online coop multiplayer was amazing and it still boggles my mind they haven’t had it in any other game. Up to 4 assassins to complete a mission each taking your own objective.
I just bought AC Origins yesterday because it was on sale on Steam (like 9 dollars). This will be my first AC game and I'm glad to see it so high in the rank : )
The bit about Odyssey enemies being damage sponges isn't entirely accurate. If you know how the progression system works and you actually build properly, they definitely aren't damage sponges. Albeit the progression system is a bit more complicated and not nearly as straightforward as Valhalla and Origins so it can be difficult to get a grasp on that if you're not familiar with that kind of progression system. Also not accurate to suggest you aren't viable in combat while using a stealth build in Odyssey since the Assassin tree actually has the most overpowered combat ability in the game. Assassin builds are fundamentally the best builds in the game for both stealth and combat thanks to Hero Strike. They're quintessential glass cannon builds that delete stronger enemies. It's ironic that people argue stealth is discouraged in Odyssey when Assassin is so much stronger than Hunter and Warrior.
My favourite thing about the assassins creed series has always been the trailers. I remember the feeling I got watching them when I was younger , my favourite being the revelations trailer.
I’d say this list is pretty spot on. I haven’t played origins or mirage though so can’t comment on those. But the brotherhood, AC2 and black flag placements are right in my opinion. That’s number wang
You owe it to yourself to play both of those, origins especially. Egypt is insanely detailed and beautiful, also the most accurate depiction of ancient Egypt ever made. Bayek is a phenomenal character with a solid story and a top level voice actor.
I highly disagree with some of the entries in this video, but we can agree to disagree. It was an amazing video, regardless. Keep up the great work, man!
Honestly one of the best lists I’ve seen. I would probably have the same top 5, however a few may be in a different order. Hard to find a perfect list but this one is close!
I agreed that the story writing on Rogue could have been way better, but it was still a great game otherwise. The reason I loved Black Flag so much is once you learned how to actually battle ships and your ship was completely upgraded by sequence 6 you could decimate a level 60 man o war before it could get a shot off. The same thing in Rogue as soon as your thing was completely upgraded, you could fold any ship in half. That's why when I heard people were struggling with the level 99 storm fortress I was confused because that one took me like Less than five minutes to complete and I didn't even struggle on it at all. I found ship battles to be the easiest part of the game. The hardest part of Rogue was just going to get all the collectibles getting the treasure. All of that was time consuming and it took like six hours to complete it all. So aside from the story being subpar, I still really enjoyed the game otherwise. The combat was just like black flag, And it was still refreshing because I wasn't burned out from playing Black Flag transitioning to Rogue. The game I am most disappointed about though is origins from the very moment you start the game just seems incredibly rushed like there is no storytelling whatsoever and it's just like are you gonna let me figure out what you're trying to say or you're just gonna throw me into missions immediately. The game felt like an RPG. Oh, go get skill points. Okay, now you gotta be strategic in level. Your character appropriately. How do you want to play until you can unlock everything? It just seemed very... UnAssassin's Creed, un Prince of Persia, feel. And when I figured out you could just basically climb anything That was about it for me. I was like, yep, I'm gonna put this away.
Odyssey is my favorite modern AC. AC2, Blackflag, and AC3 are my favorite older AC games. Unity is an honorable mention. I didn’t play Rogue, origins or mirage. Sadly don’t game anymore but always love AC games. Is it shameful I’ve never played brotherhood? I agree with every mention you made regarding the games I also played. Lastly, Valhalla was the last AC I played, and while I found myself playing for hours and getting lost in the incredible universe, I also was lost on what the game is about. Ambitious? Yes, but pacing and being quite large led to me not finishing it. It was stunning and I vertically enjoyed it nonetheless.
@ odyssey is the modern AC concept though, starting with origins the developers moved away from the previous AC plot. That is what I mean by modern… and compared to Ac2 or AC3 it is quite so. But appreciate your comment
I still for the life of me don’t understand why so many people hate Valhalla, longer story and bigger map= more fun, fighting was decent and story wasn’t bad, wouldn’t put it top tier but I think it’s a solid middle of the pack.
1. AC2 2. AC (Just bcs it was a new experience) 3. AC Brotherhood 4. AC Revelations (loved the old Ezio and it felt like a worthy ending for the last good assassin. But somehow it felt a bit short and sth just didnt click) 5. AC III (The end of a legendary series) 6. AC IV (not an AC but a cool spin off with pirates) 7. The other games after IV 8. The garbage theyve put out over the last years (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage)
I would like to know what is considered the best length of a game? Some people would complain about a game for being too short, while others would complain about it being too long. So where's the middle ground? I personally love when a game is long with a lot of content. I feel like you get more bang for your buck in that aspect.
I totally get what you mean. My issue with Valhalla is the length because some of it feels repetitive and bloaty. Perhaps if the content was overall more exciting I’d find more enjoyment. That being said, 20 / 30 hours main storyline and the same for side missions seems like a good basis. ✌️
@@IronsideGeorgeI can totally agree with you there. I love the Valhalla. The vast open world and the various content that is has to offer. However, the variety could seem a bit bland if they aren't very engaging or lack uniqueness to other missions. It's quantity over quality at that point.
I think that assassin‘s Creed two assassin’s Creed brotherhood and black flag were the absolute best ones out of the whole entire assassin’s Creed! Reason being is because they had the best storylines and when you played it, you actually felt like you were playing the character. The problem with the new games is it feels like I’m playing an arcade instead of the character. There’s no counter attacks and it takes a decade just to take somebody out! And when they did that, the game felt less realistic!
I have a question. I haven't played any AC games, I wanted to know where to start. I know that the most logical answer would be from the beginning. But, still, if you guys have any suggestions, I'd really love to know.
Personally… I’d start with Black Flag, old, but not too old you might be uninterested. With one of if not the best stories, super fun combat, decent parkour, decent stealth, and you also get to sail the Caribbean. The best pirate game ever made, and one of the best Assassin’s Creeds. Plus, it has a mixture of both old and new aspects, so if you enjoy every aspect of it, it’s likely you’ll enjoy the whole series.
Idk how you played ac 1 and said the story "sucked" either you just couldn't be bothered to listen (conversations are quite long) or for some reason you didn't get it. I mean you put brotherhood at number 1 which has none of the philosophical debt of ac 1 and has the most cringe stereotypical arrogant aristocrat as it's villain where as in ac 1 I could easaly say atleast 3 of the minor villains where better then borgia not even including Al mualim. So Idk how u got to that conclusion
@@danielrawson465honestly thestory was good but i had to watch a youtube recap because the gameplay was terrible it felt like a complete waste of time with no immersion i would never reccomend somebody play it even if you want to get into the series
I mostly agree but I have seemed to really enjoy Mirage and that’s probably because the reason I started playing assasins creed was for a good stealth game. And I like the teleport feature.
Don’t get me wrong - I enjoyed Mirage, Baghdad was awesome and the stealth/tool aspects were great, but the combat is really poor and it’s lacking in content, hence why it is where it is!
mirage is the best for sure, I played them all and I live in italy, you'd think my best was the ezio saga but my brother felt like a robot dawg it's way too old to be compared to mirage @@liszt646
Wow! You did syndicate dirty. I love the twins. They had a good story, had good synchronization challenges, and a really fun, unique way to travel the map. Wish yall could love it more as I do.
I think you left out a lot of Origins. The founding of the Creed, the best love interest in any AC game. And to the mythology fans, you face of agains Sobek the crocodile God.
When you play older Assassins, you play Assassins. You FEEL it with every fiber of your body. They were trying different things, mechanics and settings, but overall, it feels like evolution up until Unity. Origins and Odyssey are good games. Odyssey felt great for many reasons, but it actually is 'just' good. BUT that's the point - they were games. Not really Assassins. Playin stealthy in older games (I'll be using the example of unity) is: 1. Parkour through the city 2. Scout the area 3. Blend into the crowd/infiltrate the area through parkour 4. Slowly clear the area using all the gadgets/wait for the target 5. Kill the target 6. Throw a smoke bomb, escape with a sick parkour crashing into someone's house on 2nd floor, jump out of it into a street, kill 3 guys, actually escape THAT'S what I remember from games like Unity, AC2, AC3, even AC1 had similiar schematic to some degree What I remember from Odyssey is: 1. Go to a fort/quarry/location 2. Scout the area with the bird 3. Climb into the place 4. Crouch through the whole location following the enemy markers from the bird 5. Kill them one by one in a 'perfect' way cause they never even look at each other 6. MAYBE try to make it more engaging with a bow, the oil vases, 'cool' kills etc. but there's never any actual need for it 7. Do whatever, go to the next location, repeat
Great list. For me though I would definitely have to put mirage a little higher. It’s my absolute favourite AC. Everything from the environment, the soundtrack, the stealth and the historical accuracy it’s all mind blowing. Whenever I play it I feel like I am genuinely in 9th century Baghdad. The NPCs add so much life to the world. Also, the musicians in the city are such a nice touch and the music they play is amazing. But I do agree with the criticisms stated in the video, not much variation in open combat and the multi kill thing. But neither of those things stopped me from platinuming the game. Thanks for the video!
Appreciate it Manny! I can fully appreciate that Mirage has a great stealth system, and the Baghdad looks and feels fantastic, but other elements let it down for me. I will have to replay it at some point… appreciate the support!
I think they should make a ww1-ww2 based ac where you take part in famous battles and focus on stealth alot more, you could kill generals and eventually world leaders I think it would be easy and fun to tie in with the ac chronicles russia story with the russian revalution The part before the title scree could be the guy who assassinated franz ferninand < - (who would be a templar) be an undercover assassin who was a ‘luckily at the cafe’ to asassinate him not knowing it would cause a world war This would be risky but how in ac freedom cry you have plantations they could add that but make them concentration camps instead or just military camps instead It would be good if you could also fight for rebels in guerilla warfare which would use stealth and be quite fun
Well they’ve already ventured from being an assassin to being a pirate,Templar, mercenary Demi-god and then a Viking so it’s only right that Ubisoft continues with these outlandish ideas.
5:00 If you were ranking the games based on stealth, I would LOVE that as it would also let me know what games NOT to buy. I absolutely hate forced stealth. With a passion. I would watch your rankings before buying AC games.
Personally I'd have AC 3 lower on the list. It was quite a disippointment after the ezio trilogy. Odyssey is the one I'd raise much higher. Enjoyed it quite a bit!
It's so good to see someone else putting BrotherHood as number 1. This game is an absolute masterpiece within the world of Rome and Vatican. And yes ! The multiplier was fun haha. The music, perfection.
I have game pass and GeForce now giving me access to games for the first time In awhile. I haven’t played assassins creed since 2 and I can still remember that whole storyline and my connection with Ezio. I remember feeling how cool it was to be able to buy and customize armor and weapons and how groundbreaking that felt. What an amazing experience that game was and still is
I always think it is a good thing have fans with many different rankings because truthfully there isn’t a game offensively bad there are games I would rather play like odyssey and black flag for me there is a a quality in each of them which it does better than the rest. But my ranking personally Rouge: there is a lot imported and also you switch side I think in sequence 2 of 6 even then sequence 3 is a tutorial sequence as well but the game does have one of the most challenging mission the storm fortress but it is a side mission 1: fine for the time horrible to replay now. the flag collecting annoying, stealth is none existent and it is repetitive but it is a starting block and but movement still holds up and setting is still great and was something never seen before so can’t bash it too bad Brotherhood: it did fix a lot from 2 but it just aggravates me in a lot of cases with the annoying 100% sync requirements which some are just unfair and the map is not that fun to traverse ezio and the time period is built for building parkour it is not a rpg game so the map being 2/3 fields doesn’t fit the ezio trilogy style I know 2 had horse riding and wide open space but you were mainly in the cities of Venice and Florence Unity: Snipers just Snipers. Ok story tried to be more complicated it did alright but I just got annoyed at the assassin council and I think that is why In the games character you play are either leading or not affiliated with the brotherhood because no like being told what to do only mirage and 1 have you a part but unity find just jank and an alright story could’ve been longer iii: unity and iii could be either place iii horrible pacing almost kills the game you get 3/4 or the sequences with Conner and one is a tutorial so 2/3 as an actual assassin I think it is also a game that relies on the setting too much for mission it every event oh look it is Conner which for some is fine but basically carried the revolution which is hilarious but does make Washington look weak but iii get a plus for just having haytham Valhalla: I don’t really have a problem with this game yeah it is on the long side and i would’ve cut some of arcs and made them side quest the arc system I think was a direct fix for the problem odyssey had where people would play then have break come back and couldn’t remember what happened and Ubisoft wanted people to play an arc a day but that not how we work. But I do think it got combat numbers right for a rpg they were not easy but they weren’t damage sponge. Valhalla had good moments Mirage: this is a game ranked with expectation I think we needed a simple stealth focus game and that what we got there wasn’t going to be massive character driven stuff because Basim was working for the hidden ones which I expected but there was some could’ve been more stuff for Basim maybe in more side quest it was just a nice quick game in the end and I enjoyed it I hope next time they will stuff with the masked group it give the villains nothing until the end Revaluation: same as mirage a nice quick game with more emotional weight love seeing more Altair and him having a personality enjoy parkour with hook blade and it was nice seeing ezio happy do wish there was more to do but I think it simplicity work in it favour and one of the only game where you are not actively hunting the Templar they are more in ezio way Origins: new era was a really good start to the rpg style good story some of the villains were stand out like the scarab but there gameplay issue like lack of mission variety mainly just kill this or place here but it is working out the kinks for the next game. Bayek is awesome and aya was someone who should’ve had more but a least we played as her for a bit 2: this had quite a chill tone to it with memorable mission like Grimaldi assassination with the flying machine ezio is a amazing protagonist and the cities of Florence and Venice are amazing. Rodrigo is a poster boy of ac villain even though his boss fight sucked and most people forget ezio isn’t even an assassin till sequence 10 I’m pretty sure it just a pretty setting and a rare setting to have in a game Odyssey: has the best side quest ever there are stories to make you laugh, cry and think I will say people may say that assassins creed protagonist should be an assassin but it can lead for the same story being told again this is the first story about something different the revenge and killing it about getting family back together it did the choice and order better than Valhalla by having integrated into the story better and I can odyssey for hours Black flag: this was the new era of ac after Desmond and it was the first to have a protagonist skirt around the assassin but did most of their work for them even though he messed there hold in the West Indies up it had great ship combat even though the cities were smaller they did well showing colonial architecture and the story being very character driven with great side characters and love Bartholomew Robert even though I’m iffy on sages in general Syndicate: oh this bias it was my first ac but syndicate is mechanically unity if it was stable I like the tone of syndicate it making good on a bad situation like brits always do as well as the aloofness of Jacob mainly the story though his perspective and he is a very skill assassin so he doesn’t have to worry much it also has a simple story of breaking Starrick control over London taking out his lieutenants by finding who they are because they lead an industry starrick controls and Evie is looking for a piece of Eden against Lucy Thorne it just a good time that plays well for me I will say this assassins creed hasn’t got better or worst it is just different some you’re gonna like some you’re not but don’t bash other people for liking what they like
Really appreciate you taking the time to write this absolute essay. Having Brotherhood 3rd and Syndicate first is wild imo, but as you say; there isn't a bad game, exactly why the opinions are soooo varied. Respect it dude.
Brotherhood is the only assassins creed game I played. I remember playing it ten years ago on my old laptop. I don’t remember specifically, but the name ezio, how it is like a man return to past in an avatar and how fun it was assassinating people. Like hiding in crowd then surprise 💥 , taking brotherhood beacons, and doing that jump into the straw cart. I am thinking of playing either of black flag, odyssey or valhalla cause of the open world aspect and their world settings.
Honesty I’d start with Black Flag. Alongside Brotherhood it’s my favourite AC game, and a closer experience to Brotherhood than Valhalla or Odyssey would be. Let me know what you do!
@@IronsideGeorge thanks for the suggestion! I also plan on playing Black Flag first cause I want to experience its naval combats and open seas experience. I have also heard that it has a lot of good sea chanties as well.
Rogue // very good arguments. I’d beg to differ on the story being awful though. I think it has some insanely good moments throughout the story. But I get your point, it did a really poor job on switching to a Templar view which also is my biggest complaint for Rogue. It was also a bit too short sadly, I didn’t feel it was that rushed however. Apart from the Templar/Assassin aspect which you said very well. The overall story could’ve been bigger tho imo. AC1 // 100% agreed with your opinion. AC1 gave us this amazing franchise, but even looking through my good old nostalgia goggles I notice the flaws a lot now. I am praying for an AC1 remake, which would hopefully take most of its issues away, but the tedious mission design sadly is unable to be fixed. Mirage // Didn’t watch because I have yet to finish it Syndicate // Valid arguments. On one hand, I really liked Jacob, on another, he didn’t feel like an Assassin to me, as he wasn’t taking it serious at all. Imo they should’ve made him responsible for his actions, like how Arno was kicked from the brotherhood and Altaïr who lost everything when he failed the mission due to poor behavior. Valhalla // Can’t say much about this one, you mainly covered my opinion for this game. I agree its combat is actually very enjoyable, probably my second favorite behind AC3’s. Odyssey // I actually think Odyssey’s stealth is pretty good. It’s terribly oversimplified but it works really well actually. I must admit I had an insane stealth build though. However, the game really should’ve allowed instant assassinations. Revelations // Valid points you make. This game really had its moments but it was too damn short for sure. Still those moments really made me fall in love with this game. AC3 // I believe something popped up in my mind while watching the video but I really can’t remember what. Valid arguments. Unity // Definitely agreed with the Shay point. It really makes no sense that he never tracked him down. I personally have always hoped that Ubisoft would ever make another Assassin’s Creed game in which we have to kill Shay (even though I really liked Shay a lot lol) which could also justify the reason that Arno never did. Maybe ever… Origins // 100% agreed. Abubakar Salim IS the game. He made it the game the best experience ever no doubt. Same as you, only thing that is keeping me from giving it a 10 is the leveling scale. I wasn’t too bothered by it, but I agree that it doesn’t really make much sense. AC2 // I guess almost everyone can agree that this game was so good lol. Valid points given, don’t have much to say about this one. Black Flag // Sadly this game wasn’t for me. Still, you make some really valid points. Only thing I disagree with is the combat, it felt like a dumbed down version of AC3’s to me. What made AC3 truly shine was the double counter kills, which were heavily reduced in Black Flag sadly. Brotherhood // As usual, really good points. I would argue the combat improved a LOT from AC2 but I really agree with the rest Conclusions // overall really solid ranking mate! Mine is entirely different but I understand and agree with the points you made. Considering it’s 1am I didn’t add my own arguments regarding the AC games, just dove deeper into the ones you presented but maybe another time. Still, the arguments you have given are really strong and make sense imo. I do not agree but it is a valid ranking.
Appreciate the support as always pal, and taking the time to comment too. Question is, will you be playing Mirage?! I'd be really intrigued to know your thoughts.
@@IronsideGeorge I actually beat it not too long ago, reminds me that I need to watch that part! Curious what you think of it, but it’s close to 1am so that’s for another time 😂
You just can't put AC 1 so low This game started everything after all Other AC games aren't even as authentic as this one and Altair is by far the best Assassin ever
It’s a common video no doubt, although people can all seem to agree that the Ezio trilogy is pretty great, as well as Black Flag - thanks dude, really appreciate the support
Glad you mentioned the multiplayer. Most amazing fun times while it lasted. Incredible stupidity to stop the mp after Blackflag. Glad to see you ranked Brotherhood and AC2 high
I think it’s a good complaint. Odyssey just has so much shit in it that it just feels like you’ll never finish, especially when on your first time playing it. Honestly I love story games like that. They just keep going, makes the price worth it since it keeps you going for a while.
I’m sure many of you will disagree, so let me know why! (Politely please, or I’ll set Altair on you 🗡️)
Best thing about ranking lists is that everyone feels differently about each game. I'd personally put Mirage above Syndicate and Odyssey over Unity. Origins is my favorite though. To each their own.
I will put mirage above Odyssey, Valhalla
I would put Revelations higher, I personally love that its basically the sequel we all wanted, and even tho its short, it deserves to be higher
1. Orgins 2. Black Flag 3. Brotherhood 4. Odyssey 5. AC2 6. AC3 7. Mirage 8. Valhalla 9. Syndicate 10. Unity
I'm going to keep saying this but a Tier list is the best way to rank anything. Makes things less black and white when they're not.
Generally agree but Odyssey once again mischaracterised as not being good for stealth. Apart from the boss fights and the arena, you can literally stealth the entire game with the assassin skill tree by far the strongest and most powerful. The only thing is missing regarding stealth is the blending.
facts
Exactly. People just don't know how to play because the engraving system is confusing at first. Assassin is so much stronger than Hunter and Warrior. So much so that I stopped using Hero Strike because it made Warrior builds obsolete.
Fr. I pretty much stealth through whole forts, camps and hide outs in Odyssey no problem 😂
Man my favorite part of Odyssey was all the mythological fights like Medusa… that was so fun
Same! Some brilliant boss fights in that game, same with Origins & Valhalla too

🙂
I personally think origins did it better. But odyssey was great.
Good to see people here in comment section are supporting Odyssey and giving it the respect it deserved.
How y'all managed to play this game when it requires you to level up constantly through the most boring grinding and side quests is beyond me
@@jgb7480 what?? When did that happened? and what grinding is there.
@@Nikhil-dx9kc what grinding is there? Did we play the same game?
@@jgb7480i thought like you but you really dont need to do side quests much there’s only 2 or 3 side quests per region that is advisable to do so you can level up properly and understand the story otherwise you can ignore the silly small side quests
Tried to complete it twice but at a certain point i just cant keep playing, to me Origins was much better
Pretty much exactly the same as me. Also 1000 hours? I can see why it’s your favourite too
I dont understand everyone's complaint about playing Haytham in AC 3. Playing as him was pretty fun, imo because he wasn't afraid to speak what was on his mind and how insane he was in combat.
He was ok. Better than Connar. The rest of the game was terrible.
Because it is so long before when you can play as the protagonist
I also like the twist in the beginning. The nuances between Connor and Haythem's ideologies as Templar and assassin's during colonials times where (let's be real) ALOT of awful stuff was going on. It also felt like Connor and Haythem fought differently with Connor's combat feeling way more ruthless than Haythem's who felt more calculating. 3 has some of the most fun combat in the series to me.
I just hated AC3 with a passion regardless. I had no opinion on Haytham vs. Connor.
I was disappointed when i figured out that the rest of the game we will play as Connor. Haytham looked so much more interesting.
These comments made me realize how much I truly love Odyssey. I started with Brotherhood and it got me hooked on the series, but seeing the evolution over the years it feels like Odyssey is the pinnacle at the moment. The gameplay is fantastic and the world building and atmosphere is on par with the best games ever made.
i like how the characters have emotions and somewhat humor too. makes the story more intriguing😂😂 MALAKAAAA!
Lmfaoooo nahhh ac brotherhood is the pinnacle of the series and odyssey was pretty boring from start to finish
Unity was about using the gadgets, you had to pick your gear carefully too (sprinting full on towards the target isn't going to work) when its also buffed with the PC mod to allow for more control (using the phantom blade when hanging off walls) its one of my favourite AC games.
I still play Unity on PC; looks absolutely incredible.
Using the phantom blade whilst hanging off a wall makes for some interesting developments
rogue has been called underrated so much that it’s now overrated
It sucks 😂🤷♂️
@@IronsideGeorge That's nonsense. Yes it's a slightly different Black Flag in another area. But Brotherhood is another 2 and good. Rogue has some good optional content. Only because the story is rushed it's not bad. It's still Black Flag in its core. Again, Brotherhood and Revelations are almost like 2. But with Rogue this is now a bad thing because its not ann obvious sequel.
@@IronsideGeorgeNo it doesn't, I like it more than black flag
Same goes for Unity or the SW prequels. Like damn we get it. Better than we remember for sure but they still have soooo many flaws

AC Origin is my #1 favorite and I also love AC 3 Connor
Detailing in AC Origin is out of this world tbh!
Just my 2 cents but not every AC game needs a great story, if it’s a cheesy or uninspired story but has great gameplay I’ll be a happy man, which is why I love AC Syndicate
same, and also the story isnt that bad
I love Syndicate, and despite the eh story it's nice to see an assassin like Jacob who cares just as much about helping out the common man(arguably more) than he does about the templars
Love the entire series, but it does have flaws for sure, like all things do. Personally, my favorite game of the series is Odyssey. It may not be a generic "assassins creed," but the gameplay, story, world, history, combat, outfits, weapons, rpg style, and overall game is just pure bliss. I love that game so, so, so much
Same man same.. just when i thought the game couldn’t get better im playing the Fate of Atlantis and im shocked from how amazing it is
One thing I wish the other games allowed just for the giggles was that in AC1 you could run into people with brooms and knock it out of there hands if you did so you could then pick it up and proceed to kill guards with it when I would get bored I would just grab that and see the string of death a man and a broom could bring

Unity had by far the best side content, online coop multiplayer was amazing and it still boggles my mind they haven’t had it in any other game. Up to 4 assassins to complete a mission each taking your own objective.
I can agree with that no doubt! Brotherhood was also great for multiplayer too

Origins is my favourite asassins creed, then ac2 then black flag. Honourable mention to mirage because i actually really enjoyed that
I agreed that the story writing on Rogue could have been way better, but it was still a great game otherwise.

Yes, but pacing and being quite large led to me not finishing it. It was stunning and I vertically enjoyed it nonetheless.
Odyssey is 6 yo it's not exactly modern 😂😂
@ odyssey is the modern AC concept though, starting with origins the developers moved away from the previous AC plot. That is what I mean by modern… and compared to Ac2 or AC3 it is quite so. But appreciate your comment
I still for the life of me don’t understand why so many people hate Valhalla, longer story and bigger map= more fun, fighting was decent and story wasn’t bad, wouldn’t put it top tier but I think it’s a solid middle of the pack.
Empty map
not all of us have the 200 plus hours to complete this game.
@@IsaacOrd everyone has that long, it just takes more days/weeks
The story drags on for way too long
Second for me after Odyssey
1. AC2
2. AC (Just bcs it was a new experience)
3. AC Brotherhood
4. AC Revelations (loved the old Ezio and it felt like a worthy ending for the last good assassin. But somehow it felt a bit short and sth just didnt click)
5. AC III (The end of a legendary series)
6. AC IV (not an AC but a cool spin off with pirates)
7. The other games after IV
8. The garbage theyve put out over the last years (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage)
Odyssey is my favorite but valhalla graphic combat should have been used in it.
It has barely assassin's creed elements. it's almost non existant
From a True assassin to another I like your list was even better than mine! great job brother!
Thanks Frank! Masssively appreciated!
And when they did that, the game felt less realistic!
my favourites AC:
origins
odyssey
black flag
and everyone else
Played ODYSSEY 3000h😂😂😂...
Facts Origins is #1 best AC game out there in 2024
@@kingkobrasgaming1241facts!
Spoiler alert for the number 1 lol. I’m only at unity.
It’s the repetition that’s the issue more than anything.
@@danielrawson465honestly thestory was good but i had to watch a youtube recap because the gameplay was terrible it felt like a complete waste of time with no immersion i would never reccomend somebody play it even if you want to get into the series
It looks like I'm in accord with most of the comments here - Odyssey deserves a higher spot on this list. Beyond that, pretty accurate!
Origins is my favorite due to it being first assassins creed game and it's setting being beautiful.
Black Flag, Odyssey, and Valhalla are my top 3. Valhalla was the first AC game I finished. It made me want to go back and beat the rest.
The teleport feature is a direct lift from the assassin skill Rush Assassination in AC Odyssey.
For me Mirage is WAY better than Valhalla, Syndicate and AC 1
@@geejaybeenot a direct lift at all, wasn’t even a teleport in Odyssey and Mirage’s version is better.
mirage is the best for sure, I played them all and I live in italy, you'd think my best was the ezio saga but my brother felt like a robot dawg it's way too old to be compared to mirage
@@liszt646
Pirate theme was the best for Assassin's Creed games. That's why I love Black Flag the most.
you say AC1 is the 2nd worst then continue to say how great it was ...especially for it being the 1st AC game from 07...huh
Good Job 👍
Man, I guess I've never disagreed more than I do with your take about AC Rogue 😂😂😂 but hey, to each their own. Good video
Haha thanks dude - I don’t expect even 25% of people to agree 😛
I'm a first time AC player and I started with Black Flag. I love it so far!
Played them all, valhalla is my fav, i was hooked from start to finish, alot of the others felt grindy
Playin stealthy in older games (I'll be using the example of unity) is:
1. Parkour through the city
2. Scout the area
3. Blend into the crowd/infiltrate the area through parkour
4. Slowly clear the area using all the gadgets/wait for the target
5. Kill the target
6. Throw a smoke bomb, escape with a sick parkour crashing into someone's house on 2nd floor, jump out of it into a street, kill 3 guys, actually escape
THAT'S what I remember from games like Unity, AC2, AC3, even AC1 had similiar schematic to some degree
What I remember from Odyssey is:
1. Go to a fort/quarry/location
2. Scout the area with the bird
3. Climb into the place
4. Crouch through the whole location following the enemy markers from the bird
5. Kill them one by one in a 'perfect' way cause they never even look at each other
6. MAYBE try to make it more engaging with a bow, the oil vases, 'cool' kills etc. but there's never any actual need for it
7. Do whatever, go to the next location, repeat
I still play on a PS4PRO and I find Odyssey to run the smoothest!
I think odyssey is one of my favorites behind black flag and brotherhood
My top 2:
1 Odyssey
2 Black flag
But have loved the entire AC series, can't wait for Shadows.
I think they should make a ww1-ww2 based ac where you take part in famous battles and focus on stealth alot more, you could kill generals and eventually world leaders
I think it would be easy and fun to tie in with the ac chronicles russia story with the russian revalution
The part before the title scree could be the guy who assassinated franz ferninand < - (who would be a templar) be an undercover assassin who was a ‘luckily at the cafe’ to asassinate him not knowing it would cause a world war
This would be risky but how in ac freedom cry you have plantations they could add that but make them concentration camps instead or just military camps instead
It would be good if you could also fight for rebels in guerilla warfare which would use stealth and be quite fun
All sounds great! I made a whole video about settings I’d like in Assassins Creed. I think WW1 / WW2 is at the top of everyone’s list 😁
AC Origins for me was my favourite. Seeing ancient Egypt was wonderful! I loved exploring the world. And I really loved Bayek's story and character.
My top ac games.
Ac brotherhood
Ac black flag
Ac 2
Ac unity
Ac 3
Ac revolations
Ac syndicate
Ac origins
Ac valhalla
Ac oddysee
Rogue
Ac mirage
Ac 1
It's so good to see someone else putting BrotherHood as number 1. This game is an absolute masterpiece within the world of Rome and Vatican. And yes ! The multiplier was fun haha. The music, perfection.
Odyssey was a great game
I have game pass and GeForce now giving me access to games for the first time In awhile. I haven’t played assassins creed since 2 and I can still remember that whole storyline and my connection with Ezio. I remember feeling how cool it was to be able to buy and customize armor and weapons and how groundbreaking that felt. What an amazing experience that game was and still is
I always think it is a good thing have fans with many different rankings because truthfully there isn’t a game offensively bad there are games I would rather play like odyssey and black flag for me there is a a quality in each of them which it does better than the rest.
But my ranking personally
Rouge: there is a lot imported and also you switch side I think in sequence 2 of 6 even then sequence 3 is a tutorial sequence as well but the game does have one of the most challenging mission the storm fortress but it is a side mission
1: fine for the time horrible to replay now. the flag collecting annoying, stealth is none existent and it is repetitive but it is a starting block and but movement still holds up and setting is still great and was something never seen before so can’t bash it too bad
Brotherhood: it did fix a lot from 2 but it just aggravates me in a lot of cases with the annoying 100% sync requirements which some are just unfair and the map is not that fun to traverse ezio and the time period is built for building parkour it is not a rpg game so the map being 2/3 fields doesn’t fit the ezio trilogy style I know 2 had horse riding and wide open space but you were mainly in the cities of Venice and Florence
Unity: Snipers just Snipers. Ok story tried to be more complicated it did alright but I just got annoyed at the assassin council and I think that is why In the games character you play are either leading or not affiliated with the brotherhood because no like being told what to do only mirage and 1 have you a part but unity find just jank and an alright story could’ve been longer
iii: unity and iii could be either place iii horrible pacing almost kills the game you get 3/4 or the sequences with Conner and one is a tutorial so 2/3 as an actual assassin I think it is also a game that relies on the setting too much for mission it every event oh look it is Conner which for some is fine but basically carried the revolution which is hilarious but does make Washington look weak but iii get a plus for just having haytham
Valhalla: I don’t really have a problem with this game yeah it is on the long side and i would’ve cut some of arcs and made them side quest the arc system I think was a direct fix for the problem odyssey had where people would play then have break come back and couldn’t remember what happened and Ubisoft wanted people to play an arc a day but that not how we work. But I do think it got combat numbers right for a rpg they were not easy but they weren’t damage sponge. Valhalla had good moments
Mirage: this is a game ranked with expectation I think we needed a simple stealth focus game and that what we got there wasn’t going to be massive character driven stuff because Basim was working for the hidden ones which I expected but there was some could’ve been more stuff for Basim maybe in more side quest it was just a nice quick game in the end and I enjoyed it I hope next time they will stuff with the masked group it give the villains nothing until the end
Revaluation: same as mirage a nice quick game with more emotional weight love seeing more Altair and him having a personality enjoy parkour with hook blade and it was nice seeing ezio happy do wish there was more to do but I think it simplicity work in it favour and one of the only game where you are not actively hunting the Templar they are more in ezio way
Origins: new era was a really good start to the rpg style good story some of the villains were stand out like the scarab but there gameplay issue like lack of mission variety mainly just kill this or place here but it is working out the kinks for the next game. Bayek is awesome and aya was someone who should’ve had more but a least we played as her for a bit
2: this had quite a chill tone to it with memorable mission like Grimaldi assassination with the flying machine ezio is a amazing protagonist and the cities of Florence and Venice are amazing. Rodrigo is a poster boy of ac villain even though his boss fight sucked and most people forget ezio isn’t even an assassin till sequence 10 I’m pretty sure it just a pretty setting and a rare setting to have in a game
Odyssey: has the best side quest ever there are stories to make you laugh, cry and think I will say people may say that assassins creed protagonist should be an assassin but it can lead for the same story being told again this is the first story about something different the revenge and killing it about getting family back together it did the choice and order better than Valhalla by having integrated into the story better and I can odyssey for hours
Black flag: this was the new era of ac after Desmond and it was the first to have a protagonist skirt around the assassin but did most of their work for them even though he messed there hold in the West Indies up it had great ship combat even though the cities were smaller they did well showing colonial architecture and the story being very character driven with great side characters and love Bartholomew Robert even though I’m iffy on sages in general
Syndicate: oh this bias it was my first ac but syndicate is mechanically unity if it was stable I like the tone of syndicate it making good on a bad situation like brits always do as well as the aloofness of Jacob mainly the story though his perspective and he is a very skill assassin so he doesn’t have to worry much it also has a simple story of breaking Starrick control over London taking out his lieutenants by finding who they are because they lead an industry starrick controls and Evie is looking for a piece of Eden against Lucy Thorne it just a good time that plays well for me
I will say this assassins creed hasn’t got better or worst it is just different some you’re gonna like some you’re not but don’t bash other people for liking what they like
Really appreciate you taking the time to write this absolute essay.
Mirage // Didn’t watch because I have yet to finish it
Syndicate // Valid arguments.
Maybe ever…
Origins // 100% agreed.
I would argue the combat improved a LOT from AC2 but I really agree with the rest
Conclusions // overall really solid ranking mate!
Curious what you think of it, but it’s close to 1am so that’s for another time 😂
You just can't put AC 1 so low
This game started everything after all
Other AC games aren't even as authentic as this one and Altair is by far the best Assassin ever
I think I agree on this more then other AC TH-camr ranking games
Awesome! I’m sure some people will massively disagree though 😂
@@IronsideGeorge yea I do want to see more people that I watch do this so I kinda get a different perspective but great video
So, Rogue is just better Black Flag?
10 hours sounds great to me. I don't want to spend my whole life playing a game.
Black flag is just so good
I think it’s a good complaint. Odyssey just has so much shit in it that it just feels like you’ll never finish, especially when on your first time playing it. Honestly I love story games like that. They just keep going, makes the price worth it since it keeps you going for a while.
I’m playing Origins right now. I finished Valhalla and Odyssey. Top 3 is best to worst. Odyssey, Black Flag, Origins
