  • I love Japan - haven't been since 2019 due to stupid covid restrictions, so as soon as I could get back there for some snowboarding, we booked tickets.
The world's best food, nicest people, cleanest cities, best trains... dammit best everything.Plus a really cool Volvo showroom in Aoyama, just at the eastern end of Omotesando in Tokyo. Couldn't help myself, snuck some videos of the EX30.I was 100% ready to buy one in June 2023, since the Victorian government announced their plans to scrap the EV subsidy. The deal was, the car had to be delivered within 6 months of signing a contract, and that contract had to be signed by end of June 2023.
The Volvo dealership I went to weren't really 100% up to speed on the situation. To be fair, at the time there wasn't that much solid info about the EX30. Without a reasonably sure delivery date, I sadly passed on putting a deposit down on the EX30 Twin Motor Performance. MG were far more confident about having the MG4 delivered by the end of the year, so bought that instead to keep my Model 3 company.
Still, now that I've sat inside an EX30, I'm wondering when I can convince my wife to give up "her" MG4 and get into an EX30. That glass roof and performance spec.... drools

Skipped EX30 76k vs 58k for the xpower, 3.6 vs 3.7 , no one will feel that difference, no driver side instrument cluster!its not like its the top version! And ..... drum roll, you pay 18k for 140km extra range. So maybe 90km on the highway. In australia EV makers can keep their panoramic glass roofs too, its hot hot in australia. Also lower warranty 5 years vs 7, oh and i hear Volvo are in trouble ? Volvo probably safer and better build quality ? Kind also reminds me of BMW i3 for some reason.

$18,000... plenty of cash saved there! Kinda agree about the pano roof, my bald head does get pretty warm in a model 3 in summer. I think I've only ever seen one i3 in the real world so can't make any style comparisons (but the EX30 is a good looking thing)
