All the other charging stations aren't as plentiful and have trash levels of reliability. Say what you want about Elon (The man is a total Goober in my opinion), Tesla has implemented a charging network that has actually made their vehicles viable as easily able to replace a "standard" car in a way the other mfrs just haven't been able to copy.

@@KevinJDildonik It's not safer, I don't get why anyone would use that as an argument. It is simply cheaper to integrate functions into a main display. And car manufacturers like Tesla and others sell this to the customers by saying "It's advanced technology" or something like that. I'm not mad about it in the EX30, they needed to hit a specific price point. But I do not accept it in expensive, luxury cars.

The EX30 is pretty much the only new car I can get excited over at the moment, though sadly it’ll still likely be a bit out of reach financially when it lands here in Australia…. a used XC40 Recharge by then will likely be a more accessible and attractive option, especially as it retains some hard button controls and a more traditional dash. I do wonder just how much a single knob-button - press to switch between fan speed, temperature and volume - under the screen would have added to the end price though. Having a HUD as an option would have solved the speedo cluster issue easily. Still, the Model 3/Y are amongst the biggest selling cars (not just EVs) at present so clearly people don’t care enough about the ‘all on one screen’ UI to buy something else. I do wish EV makers could come up with AWD models that aren’t top spec models though, just put a 50hp motor on the front wheels and don’t charge 10-20% more for it. I don’t need supercar 0-100kmh times, I just want all four wheels turning when it’s slippery.

I was already convinced, but the "Hey Google" definitely makes up for no physical buttons. Wow. My new dream car

Volvo does a hood latch on each side of the hood instead of one in the middle. So it’s easy to latch one but not the other if you don’t pay attention.

LOVE THIS THING! Volvo's so on point with the EX30. It's not about getting it or not it's about getting it or waiting for the XC version. :O

Doug is the kind of guy who puts the "laughter" emoji in his GPS, just to make sure even the roads know it's a joyride.
